Something Else on Saturday Challenge #107 & LeAnn's World 101 Inspiration Post Featuring Nixie form LeAnn's World 101

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post which I have also combined with my LeAnn's World 101 Inspiration post as they fall on the same date! I have chosen to use the gorgeous Nixie for my card this time to keep with the mermaid theme this month for #mermay!

I coloured the scene around Nixie as she ended up being quite a big image with all that hair flowing behind her! I felt a bit nervous drawing my own reeds and coral, but I am absolutely stoked with how it all came out! I am slowly starting to feel more confident about my colouring and drawing abilities now!

There's A Stamp For That Challenge #23 Frogs, Bicycles or Sketch

Good morning and welcome to my GDT post for There's A Stamp for That Challenge over on Facebook. The challenge this time is to use frogs, bicycles or choose one of the given sketches on your project. I chose to go with frogs as it meant I could use my unused stamp set from Lawn Fawn that I have had for ages! I am terrible (as I'm sure most crafters are) of buying stamps and other crafty things because I need them right now, but then never get round to using them!

Anyway... here's my card. I even managed to find some frog themed paper in my new paper pack from Doodlebug that I bought to make Easter cards with and then never used! See, another thing, I needed and then didn't use! 😆

Scene It Sunday #44 Featuring Chibi Marina Mermaid from Stampers Delights

Good morning and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday post. Again I have used another mermaid set (I'm sure you'll all be sick of seeing mermaid cards by the end of the month, but I just love creating them!) This week's card uses another of my new stamp sets from Stampers Delights, Chibi Marina Mermaid, which has the plant and coral stamps included which are perfect for making a cute underwater scene.

I went for some rainbow coloured fish as decided by my boyfriend - I just couldn't choose a colour, so he suggested doing them rainbow coloured and I really love how these fluffy fish came out! He also came up with the colour for the hair and I wouldn't have picked golden yellow with pale pink, but it looks gorgeous!

Here is the stamp set with the card, side by side, so you can see them together! Don't they look fab together!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #470 For the Boys & Men

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is to make a male themed project and although I don't make these very often, I love the range of boy themed stamps that Veronica has in the Paper Shelter store.

I chose to use Pizza Chef for my card - I love his cute happy face! I found some old Stampin' Up patterned papers and the squared one reminded me of the tiles in my local Frankie and Benny's restaurant, so thought it would work well here too! I did get a bit stuck with a sentiment though, but found this one in a Clearly Besotted stamp set along with the pizza slice. I obviously need more pizza themed stamps! 😉

Mer-May Monday #3 Featuring Mermaid Seahorse from Lemon Shortbread

Happy Mer-May Monday! I can't believe we are already half way through May! We more weeks left at school and I'll be on holiday for half term! I cannot wait as I am utterly exhausted at the minute! There just isn't enough hours in the day to do everything that needs doing each week unless I spend all my evenings working after a full day at school!

Anyway...this week's mer-may card using these gorgeous digi stamp from Lemon Shortbread. I went for a completely different layout than I would normally do after seeing a similar card on Pinterest, but I admit mine is nowhere near as good as the one I saw (which I then couldn't find again to compare it to!). Oh well, it gave me an excuse to use up some of that mountain of ribbon I have stored everywhere!

Mer-May Monday #2 Featuring Mermaids Galore from The Greeting Farm

Good morning and happy Mer-May Monday! I have used this huge collection of mermaids and their friends for me card - this is such a fabulous set (and like gold dust here in the UK!)

I decided to pull out my one and only 8 inch square card blank (no idea why I only have one though - must have come in a pack or collection or something as I haven't got any others!) and made this huge card with 3 of the mermaids, a few fish and lots of die cuts! Scene It Sunday #43 Featuring Let's Go from The Greeting Farm

Good morning, Happy Sunday and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday post. I am sharing another one of my new stamp sets again today, Let's Go from The Greeting Farm. I just love these cute little bunnies in their hot air balloon!

I decided to go for a portrait DL sized card, which is about 8 x 4 inches more or less, so slightly wider than the US slimline sized cards. As I had already stamped some of the clouds from the set in the scene, I didn't want to do a cloudy sky, so went with the blue stripy one and I actually quite like the un-smooth look of it! The bunnies that are hanging from the ladder are all popped up on foam pads after being fussy cut out.

This card is for

Recipe:

Stamps: Let's Go from The Greeting Farm

Papers: Daffodil Delight from Stampin' Up, Card Blank from Anita's, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Something Else on Saturday Challenge #104 Featuring Oddball Edgar from Stamping Bella

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. Boy what a week it has been this week. I had parents evening meetings for two days until 6:30 this week, and because of Covid we cannot do the face-to-face so lots of video calls and phone calls, which is not easy when you're half deaf!

Anyway this week's card uses one of my new Stamping Bella Oddball stamps - I just love this range and have quite a few of them now. I just had to get Edgar Allan Poe's version as The Raven is one of my favourite poems. I kept him fairly monochrome and found these perfect papers in my Stampin' Up stash from a few years back.

Good afternoon and welcome to my first Mermay Monday (although I did do a post on Saturday seeing as it was 1st May on Saturday!), For this week's card, I have used one of my first Lawn Fawn sets that I have never put together on a card before! No idea why not, but it is such a cute, sweet stamp set and I have to use it more now!

I stamped various images from the set on to an A6 sized piece of card, before colouring with my Copics and then added the sentiment afterwards. The bubbles also have some Stickles on them too.

LeAnn's World 101 May Challenge

Good morning and welcome to my DT card for the new challenge from LeAnn's World 101. As always our challenge is an Anything Goes challenge, but if you use an image from LeAnn's store then you will be entered twice into the prize draw. Do pop on over to the store and check out all the gorgeous new digis that LeAnn has recently released.

For my card I chose to use the adorable Flower Girl - she just looks so happy and just had to be coloured up in bright, tropical colours. To balance the brightness of her clothes, I went for black hair, which just makes her pop all the more!

I rarely make CAS cards, but I decided to give one a go with this card as I thought this new stencil would be perfect behind her. I masked off the different sections so I could ink it up in the same colours as her clothes and although it is not perfect, it works brilliantly!

Scene It Sunday #43 Featuring Odette from Sweet November Stamps

Good morning and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday post. This week I am sharing a couple of my new clear stamps from Sweet November Stamps - Odette and Horizon Lines: Spring. To get the mirrored image of the stamp I used this Silicone Mirroring Mat from Crafty Purple Frog. It wasn't a completely perfect stamped image (might be the ink I was using) so I had to go over the lines with my Copic Fineliner, but it still turned out really good and gave me just what I wanted!

I actually should have added some flowers or something into the scene when I was colouring it, but I didn't and then thought it looked a bit plain, so added these cute little die cuts from Lawn Fawn and they just added that pretty touch that it was missing.

Something Else on Saturday Challenge #103 Featuring Malia from Kelly Horton

Good morning and Happy Mer-May! During the month of May, mermaids pop up everywhere and as a huge lover of mermaids, I am going to be making lots of mermaids this month! I attempted last year to do a new card for every day following a list of challenges I set myself, but I failed to complete them all as I just didn't have enough time to do them as May is also a very busy month at work, so I just didn't have as much free time as I had hoped.

So I decided that this year, I would just do a Mermaid Monday feature on my blog, but seeing as May starts today, it's only apt that I start the month with a mermaid too!

This gorgeous mermaid is from Kelly Horton and I added her to a stencil wavy background and added lots of foliage and sea life dies to her background as well. A gorgeously bright card to start the month!
