Something Else on Saturday Challenge #116 Featuring Blanche Butterfly from Stamping Bella

Good morning and happy Saturday! For today's Something Else on Saturday Challenge, I thought I would go for a really bright, rainbow filled card using the adorable Blanche Butterfly from Stamping Bella. I have used her before and did her in all purples, but thought it would be fun to do a multicoloured colouring and I have to say I just LOVE it! It's very bright, but with the added touches of black, she really does pop.

The challenge was though to find some papers that enhanced but not overpowered her, but I'm not sure I managed that as these patterned papers from Whimsy Stamps and Stampin' Up are all so bright! But I love rainbows so just love these all as well!

This card is for

Recipe:

LeAnn's World 101 Inspiration Post Featuring Happy Hour

Good morning everyone and welcome to my final DT post for the LeAnn's World 101 Design Team. I have decided to step down from this team at the end of this month as I fancy a change and as well as taking on the team leader role for The Paper Shelter, I need a bit more time as well. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the team since November 2019, so about 18 months or so and will miss being part of the team, but feel ready for the change now.

Anyway for my card this month, I have chosen to use the cute Happy Hour image and added a bit more colouring to the background to make it look like she was having a celebratory drink in a bar! I also added some drinking related sentiments from one of my new stamp sets, which were just perfect for this scene!

Recipe:

Stamps: Happy Hour from LeAnn's World 101, Cocktail Hour from Clearly Besotted

Papers: Poppy Parade & Soft Suede both from Stampin' Up, Curiosity Corner Patterned Papers from Dovecraft, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Scene It Sunday #53 Featuring S'More Fun from Lawn Fawn

Good morning everyone and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday post! For this one, I just had to use my new Lawn Fawn S'More Fun set with the new forest backdrop die to make this fun campfire themed card. I love smores, although I don't have them too often. Will definitely be having some this summer though!

To add to the woodland scene I embossed my backdrop die with a woodgrain embossing folder, but it was just a bit too small for the sized of the die cut piece so it was put through a couple  of times which really squished it too much! Might have to see if I can find one that is bigger than the UK sized A6 folder I have.

Stamps: S'More Fun from Lawn Fawn

Although it is the first Saturday of my 6 week summer holiday from school, I thought I would make a Christmas card to join in with the Christmas in July challenges that are about this month. I still have loads of Christmas images coloured up from last year which were not used, so I just pulled one of those sets out and made this cute, quick card with these adorable little Santas!

The Paper Shelter Summer Break Challenge

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is our annual Summer Break Challenge which will last for 4 weeks to give the design teams members a little break for their summer vacations! Both Team A and Team B have joined together for this challenge as well, so there is double the amount of inspiration for you!

This challenge is an Anything Goes challenge and the prize will still be the same, but there will be no commenting from the DT members this time round.

For my card I used the fabulous A Well-Kept Garden. I do have a thing for gnomes (not that I have any in my actual garden though!) and love to use them on cards as they make a masculine themed card really quick and easy.

Scene It Sunday #52 Featuring Polka Dot Pals Kezia from Whimsy Stamps

Good morning and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday post. This week I decided to use one of my newish clear stamp sets from Whimsy Stamps. I used to be on the Polka Dot Pals design team before it closed, but I am so glad that Barbara is now selling her stamps in clear rubber form through Whimsy Stamps.

I used the cute Kezia for this week's card and added in a beachy scene behind her. The green "wood" at the bottom was supposed to be like those beach mats you can get - I think they are made out of some kind of grass so that as she's eating her huge ice cream it's not dripping all in the sand! I think it came out fairly well, despite the fact that I had no real idea where it was going at the beginning!

This card is for

Recipe:

Stamps: Polka Dot Pals Kezia from Whimsy Stamps, Newton's Summer Treats from Newton's Nook Design

Stampers Delights New Release Tutorial - Chibi Friendship Grows

Good evening and welcome to another Stampers Delights DT post from me. For today's card I have used the newly released Friendship Grows and as the sentiment uses the word grows, I just had to make part of the image "grow" as well. I hope you check out my full step-by-step tutorial over on the Stampers Delights blog to see how I made this card.

I used the flowers from the stamp set to create the matching patterned papers. You can see the pull tab with the second flower just behind the purple potted flower and when you pull the tab...

Good evening everyone and welcome to my DT post for my new tutorial for Stampers Delights. The new clear stamps release this month were all so cute and I got to work with 2 out of the 3 sets. I decided for both of my tutorials this month that these sets would work brilliantly on interactive cards, so that is what I have done!

Today's card uses the cute Kawaii Cute As A Bug set, which you can find here in the store and I made a slider card using some dies as I wanted to make it look like she was flying above her flowers to water them!

Scene It Sunday #51 Featuring Cute As ABC from Clearly Besotted

Good morning and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday post. I thought I would use my new Scenescape dies from Mama Elephant for this bright, fun card. I just love the shape and dimensions you get with it. As it is coming up to the end of the school year, I need 6 thank you cards for my team and probably a couple more for other people who have been really supportive this year too, so my posts will probably be mostly thank you cards for the next couple of weeks!

I did watch a couple of You Tube videos from the Mama Elephant DT to make sure I got the order right to put the pieces together and it was actually really easy to do. The best hint though was the colouring of the rainbow - I used my Distress Oxide Inks for it, inking up the white card which saved having to cut out the correct piece of the rainbow or even the whole thing several times in different coloured cardstock! Was a lot less hassle I thought and the colours are a lot softer than I would have had if I had used card too, which I preferred.

To do the inked clouds, I used the cloud dies from the rainbow add on set on another piece of card and used them as a stencil so they were all the same proportion as my actual stencils would have looked odd I thought.

This card is for

Recipe:

Stamps: Cute As ABC Set 1 and Set 2 both from Clearly Besotted

Papers: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral Primrose Petals (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty, Acetate

Something Else on Saturday Challenge #113 Featuring Bake Off from Clearly Besotted

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday challenge post. This week I have attempted to use another of my interactive die sets, but boy was this one a challenge!

Not sure if you have tried the magic iris dies from Lawn Fawn, but they just did not want to play nicely at all. I must have spent about 2 hours trying to get the mechanism to work. I watched various different videos on You Tube and I was doing exactly what they showed, but it would just not turn at all. I tried removing the connector bits and using washi tape instead and various other things, but each time was the same.

I then changed the cardstock I was using from Stampin' Up card to this incredibly thin Ultimate Graphic paper and it worked better. Still took a bit of coaxing to get it to work though! And even now I have put the card together, it's not quite sitting correctly! Grrr! I will have to try again and see what I can do to make it work properly! If you have any useful tips, please do let me know!

This is the card with the magic iris closed...

And open...

I used the adorable Merwees Set #1 from Sweet November Stamps with the Slimline Pull Tab Dies from Heffy Doodle to make this fun card.

I'm definitely going to have another play with this die set as it was actually really easy to do. I would like to try making a longer pull next time though!

LeAnn's World 101 Challenge #40

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from LeAnn's World 101. As always our challenge is an Anything Goes one and you can use any image to enter. However, if you use an image from LeAnn's store then you will be entered twice into the prize draw.

For my card I have used the adorable Kaylynn and went for a soft blue and pink colour combo using some old patterned papers I found hidden in my stash! (I have lots of those though!) I used this die cut for my frame and the card ended up being a lot smaller than I realised, so it didn't leave much room for layers or embellishments. The sentiment had to go on the inside too as I used a matching sentiment die cut from the paper pack, which was far too big for the front in the end!
