Sharing some others on a Sunday

These are a few other, non flowery cards I made this weekend! I had a ton of fun making all these cards this weekend, but never managed to actually do the Easter gifts or make the new Kaisercraft set of drawers like I was going to do! LOL nevermind, another excuse for crafting during the week!

My first one is my fave card from this weekend - I love the colours and the prettiness of it! It's for Magnolia-Licious Challenge #5 to be inspired by a picture of pretty little Easter eggs, Just Magolia Challenge #99 to pick a line from their bingo board and use the items it says. Mine were the 3 diagonal squares from the top left and I had to use gems, flowers, lace and ribbon! I also used the colours from CC315  - Regal Rose, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz and these colours also fit the Pastels Challenge from Colour Create's #67.

Recipe:

Stamps: Tilda And Her Bunny from Magnolia, Mega Mixed Messages from PTI

Papers: So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Junior Varsity DSP (retired), Sweet Always DSP (retired) all from SU, Copics white

Inks: Regal Rose from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Gems from Papermania, Pink roses from eBay, Yellow roses from Hobbycraft, Pear Pizzazz ribbon from SU, Lace from Cuddly Buddly

My next one is for TESC135 (yay Taylor has brought her sketches back and to SCS too!) and for Play Date Cafe's Challenge #74 to use turquoise/blue, purple and white. This is their inspiration photo...

And this is my card...

Recipe:

Stamps: Butterfly Dreams, Background Basics: Petal Power both from PTI, Tiny Tags from SU

Papers: Elegant Eggplant, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White all from SU, Turquoise DSP from Daisy Bucket, Flowered DSP from Kaisercraft (I think. I've cut the name off it and it was the last bit I had!)

Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Elegant Eggplant both from SU

Accessories: Butterfly Die from PTI, Buttons from stash, Tempting Turquoise ribbon (retired), Mini Tag punch, Scallop Edge Punch all from SU

My next one is for Walzting Mouse Sketch Challenge #40 and for CC30 to use Creamy Caramel and Bravo Burgundy. I wanted a more rustic look and I think these colours worked well!

Recipe:

Stamps: Victorian Frippery, Faux Fun Circles, Frame It all from Walzting Mouse Stamps

Inks: Creamy Caramel (retired), Bravo Burgundy both from SU

And my final card from this weekend is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #5 for March, Free For All #57 to be inspired by the sun, CC63 to use Tempting Turquoise, So Saffron, Orchid Opulence and Green Galore and for Farm Fresh Friday's Spring Break Challenge. We don't have Spring Break in the same way over here in the UK as in the USA. We generally get 2 weeks of slightly warmer weather, but nowhere near hot enough to go to the beach! The weather over here sucks at times LOL

Recipe:

Stamps: Rain, Snow or Shine from The Greeting Farm, Mat Stack 4 Collection from PTI (I think!)

Papers: Green Galore, Orchid Opulence, Rainbow Sherbet DSP, Washington Apple DSP (all retired) from SU, Copics White

Inks: Tempting Turquoise from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch all from SU, Brads from stash, Ribbon from stash

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Flower Foursome

Just a few flowery cards I made this weekend!

This first one is for Sweet Sunday's Sketch Challenge #110, Papertake Weekly's Challenge to make a card for mum (It's Mother's Day here in the UK on April 3rd so thought I'd be prepared ahead of time - that both mine own mum and my MIL cards sorted out now!) and for CR84FN21 to use garnet, chartreuse and cream. This is their gorgeous inspiration swatch...

And here's my card for this challenge...

Recipe:

Stamps: In Bloom, Delightful Dahlias both from PTI

Papers: Simply Chartreuse, Scarlet Jewel both from PTI, Cream cs from stash, Prima's Moulin Rouge Patterned Paper Pack

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics, Scarlet Jewel from PTI

Accessories: Ribbon from stash, Brads from stash, Oval Nestabilities, White Opal Liquid Pearls

My next one is for SC325 for the sketch, Paper Pal Arts Challenge #86 to use embossing (I used debossing I guess it's called so I hope that counts!), Make It Monday #7 to colour coloured, not neutral, cardstock (I added a bit of shading to the Lemon Tart flower and Plum Pudding centre) and for Totally Hues #4 to use Lemon Tart, Plum Pudding, Raspberry Fizz and New Leaf.

Accessories: Eyelet Border Die, Polka Dots Impression Plate both from PTI, Sepia Zoomz (like Dew Drops) from Stamp Galaxy, 3/4" circle punch from SU

My next one is for CC59 to use Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy and Certainly Celery and for Just Add Ink #61 to only use stamps and cardstock - no accessories, no embellishments, no punches, no DSP, no anything else! I did actually make one card for this challenge with punches on, went back to check the write up for the challenge and realised that I wasn't allowed to use the 4 punches I had used, so started again! Never mind, I'll save that card for another day!

Recipe:

Stamps: Greenhouse Garden, Perfect Punches, Tiny Tags all from SU

Papers: Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White all from SU

Inks: Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Certainly Celery all from SU

Accessories: None!

My last flowery card is one I couldn't work well with at all, but I gave it a shot anyway. The sketch is from Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #64 and the colours are from Color Throwdown's Challenge #134 to use Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.

Recipe:

Stamps: Hopeful Thoughts from SU

Papers: Marina Mist cs and DSP from Subtles pack, Pumpkin Pie, slivers of Old Olive, Whisper White, Jolly Holiday DSP all from SU

Inks: SU Markers in Marina Mist, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie

Accessories: Marina Mist ribbon, Pumpkin Pie buttons both from SU

And that all from this post today folks! Thank for stopping by!

Playful Purples

I used purple a few times this weekend - mainly on colour combos, but I do love a bit of purple!

This first card is for Mojo Monday #182 for the sketch, Color Throwdown's Challenge #133 to use More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi and Early Espresso and for Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #63 to use dry embossing. My next card is for Sweet Sunday's Sketch #109, Truly Scrumptious' Challenge #53 to use a tag and CR84FN20 to use plum, lavender and green. This is the gorgeous swatch for these colours.

And here's my take on these challenges. I know Lily of the Valleys are meant to be white, but I just pretended they were bluebells and coloured them in lavender hehe.

Recipe:

Stamps: Year of Flowers: Lily of the Valley, Delightful Dahlias, Background Basics: Botanicals all from PTI

I used lilac, peach and rose red as mine.

And here's my card for it.

Recipe:

Stamps: Take Three Summer from PTI

Inks: Rose Red, Peach Parfait, Lovely Lilac (retired) all from SU

Accessories: Buttons from stash, Corner Rounder Punch, Double Ended Banner Die from PTI, Scallop Trim Border Punch from SU

And that's all my purple cards for today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Make It Monday Challenges #5 and #6

I didn't get time at the weekend to do Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday challenge #5 from last week which was to use distressed edges, so I made one today. Too late to enter for the winning stamp set, but I still wanted to do it.

I used my new Dressform stamp set that I got from karin at our PTI day on Sunday - I wasn't overly fussed when I first saw this one, but it has really grown on me now. This card is also for Sweet Sunday's Sketch #108 and CR84FN19 to use Aqua, Steel Blue and Gray and this is their inspiration piccy:

And here's my entry for it:

Recipe:

Stamps: Dressform from PTI

Papers: Basic Gray, Not Quite Navy both from SU, Stamper Select White, Aqua Mist, Pretty Pastels DSP all from PTI, Gray DSP from Magnolia

Inks: Basic Gray from SU

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Flower from eBay, Aqua Mist ribbon from PTI, Distressing tool

And this Monday's Make It Monday Challenge #6 was to deboss only half a piece of cardstock/diecut or whatever. I debossed the lower half of my Harvest Gold layer with the Diamonds Impression Plate, but I could not get it to show on the photo at all, and I had to make it really dark so you could see. This one is also for Waltzing Mouse Sketch #36 from a couple of weeks ago that I missed and Free For All #51 to use red, purple and gold in honor of the impending royal wedding (we get a day off work for it yay!).

Recipe:

Stamps: Beautiful Blooms II, Vintage Picnic

Papers: Harvest Gold, Royal Velvet, Stampers Select White all from PTI, Cherry Cobbler from SU

Inks: So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant, Cherry Cobbler all from SU

Accessories: Diamonds Impression Plate, Royal Velvet ribbon, Beautiful Blooms Die 1 all from PTI, Buttons from Elzybells, Purple Baker''s Twine from Quixotic Paperie, Red Baker's Twine from Martha Stewart, Yallow Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel.

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Papertrey Ink Day With Friends

I went down to Watford today for a Papertrey Ink crafting day with a group of friends from the In Love With Stamping forum, all organised by the lovely Karin, who runs the forum. There were 12 of us for the day, but another 4 ladies played from home as they couldn't make it to Watford. I hope they had as much fun playing away as we did!

Karin had made everyone a gorgeous little gift box full of goodies:

And this is what was inside - the Signature Series Dressform stamp set and die (different people had different sets depending on what they already had), some Pure Poppy and Vintage Cream felt, 1 stamp from the Trademarks set, some Pure Poppy, True Black and Vintage Cream buttons in an embossed glassine bag, some mini eggs and a Kit Kat, but I ate that one!

These are all the projects we made and card candy we swapped! There was a lot to do and we were going at it all day LOL!

Ally's project was to make a flower wreath and unfortunately I just didn't get the time to make it. By the time I got on to the one it was 3:30 and we had to start tidying up at about 3:45 so I'll be doing this one this week. I love the bright colours Ally used in her card candy as well.

ETA: I made Ally's wreath today and here it is!

Bekka's cute card used the lovely owl from Wise Owl and although she didn't do card candy as such, she did include this cute little bookmark for everyone instead.

Dawn's card uses the gorgeous Mums set - I did um and ah about getting this one and now I think I will! It was so lovely to finally meet Dawn in person, having been chatting with her in the forum for a couple of years now!

Elaine's project was this cute little magnetic bookmark! And her matching card candy uses the most gorgeous colour combo! It was lovely to meet Elaine for the first time as well.

Jackie's project was this cute card using the Asian Fusion stamp set. I love the colours she used for her card candy too!

Karin's project was a cute ladybug magnet made to match her gift box! I love the Bloom Builders die she used on her card candy - another must have I think! I did nearly buy it when it came out but I swapped it in my basket for something else. I wish I hadn't now!

Linda's project was this cute Favor It Box with a little bag of Haribo inside too. I love the patterned paper Linda used in her card candy - it's from one of the Color Couture downloads, which I think are going to be another must have.

Linzi's project has just caused me a ton of work! My boyfriend wants 6 of them along with a pagoda stamp (I don't have one) stamped all over just so he can eat noodles out of them! Me thinks he can make his own boxes! LMAO. I am now adding the Star Prints set to my wishlist as well. And I love Linzi's black, red and white theme for her card candy too.

Melanie's project used the Asian Fusion set as well, but with a funky bright combo! She also included a cute little gift box with some chocs inside!

Pat used a gorgeous combo on her card and her card candy. Beautiful Blooms II is one of my fave stamp sets too!

Rachel's bright butterfly card is just gorgeous as is the colour combo for her card candy. She also made little diaper pouches with a Ritter choc bar in them. Rachel also very kindly gave me another box of chocs for loaning her my butterfly die and some ink pads. Thank you very much!

Sharon used the Dressform set on her card with a gorgeous soft colour combo. It was lovely to meet Sharon for the first time as well.

Shifra's project was this cute little card - the sentiment says "Just wanted to say..." and then hidden inside the rest of it says "...I need a teaspoon of you a day". How cute is that sentiment! Shifra has also convinced me that I need the Scattered Showers set as well. Lovely to meet Shifra for the first time today as well (and to have a buddy for some "fresh air" LOL

Steph's projects was this cute hot air button balloons card. I love all the purples she used and the patterned paper was just so pretty. It was lovely to meet Steph for the first time as well today.

Val also used the Dressform set, but with a totally different colour combo. I am so glad I got this one from Karin as I think I'll be using it loads now. Val has also convinced me that I need the By The Numbers Impression plate and dies now!

And finally here's my project. You can't see it in the photo but the pink piece is embossed with the Polka Dots impression plate.

We all had such a fab day and I can't wait for the next one, which hopefully I'll be hosting in July sometime.

Flowers and Easter

Despite being completely bunged up with a cold (possibly the flu!) and a nice booming cough I still had to play today. Work's been very stressful this week and I needed some well deserved crafting stress relief!

My first card for today is for A Passion for Papertrey's Piece Out Man Challenge, using SC323 for my layout, CC313 to use Concord Crush, Bashful Blue and Pear Pizzazz and for Free For All Challenge #55 to have interesting edges!

Papers: Pear Pizzazz cs and DSP from hostess pack, Concord Crush cs and DSP from hostess pack, Whisper White, Bashful Blue DSP (retired) all from SU

My next card is for Mojo Monday Challenge #181 for the layout and Color Throwdown's Challenge #132 to use Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky.

My next card is my first Easter card! I usually end up making quite a few of these, as my MIL sends them as well. This one is for Farm Fresh Friday's colour challenge to use green, blue and yellow, for Just Add Ink's Challenge #59 for the layout and for Paper Pal Arts challenge #84 - Easter Inspiration.

And my final card for today is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #3 for March and Colour Create's Challenge #66 to use olive, brown, black and cream. My copics didn't like this Very Vanilla paper at all - I wish Copics would do a cream as well as their white card, which is just perfect for colouring with copics!

Recipe:

Stamps: Bunny Duet from Verve, A Good Egg from SU

Papers: Old Olive, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Jolly Holiday DSP all from SU

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics, White gel pen

Accessories: Soft Suede ribbon (retired), Oval Punches, Scalloped Edge Punch all from SU, White Opal Liquid Pearls

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow I'm off on a PTI crafting day with a group of friends down in Watford which should be fantastic fun! I'll be uploading all the shoebox swaps and card candy later on this week, if not tomorrow when I get back, so be sure to come on over and have a look!

Sharing On A Sunday

This group of cards are such a mixed batch that I have no idea what else to call my blog post!

My first card is for Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #37 and CR84FN18 to use yellow, orange and kraft. I really didn't think I would like these colours together, but they are so bright and funky! Love them! This is the CR84FN inspiration sketch, which I took the orange cupcakes idea from as well!

And this is my card...

Inks: Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake all from SU

Accessories: Daffodil Delight Ribbon from SU, Square Nestabilities

My next one is for SC322 for the sketch and Farm Fresh Friday's Use Up Your Christmas Stash Challenge. The patterned paper I used on this card all comes from October Afternoon's Good Cheer pack which is a Christmas set - I deliberately chose the non-Christmassy sheets for this one!

My next one is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #2 for March and for Color Throwdown's Challenge #131 to use Not Quite Navy, Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze. Papers: Pink Pirouette, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Ski Slope DSP (retired) all from SU

Inks: Not Quite Navy, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze all from SU

And my final card for today is for Just Add Ink's Challenge #58 to CASE either Danielle or Amanda (the 2 ladies who started this challenge blog, who are now both stepping down! Good Luck to them both!). I chose Danielle's card here from last week's challenge as I really loved her simple layout. I also used Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #61 to use Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand and Garden Green and for Free For All's Challenge #54 to be inspired by St Patrick's day and make a good luck card, use greens or leprechauns. I honestly didn't think I had any sort of shamrock anywhere but saw the good luck sentiment in this set and when I opened it, lo and behold, there was a little shamrock!

Recipe:

Stamps: So Happy For You from SU

Papers: Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Very Vanilla, Spiced Cider DSP (retired) all from SU

Inks: Wild Wasabi, Garden Green both from SU

Accessories: Circle Nestibilities, Eyelet Border Punch, Wild Wasabi Ribbon (retired) both from SU

And that's allf or today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Butterflies and flowers...

I seem to have a butterfly thing going on this weekend in my cardmaking! I do like butterflies though - they are just so pretty, but cannot abide moths! They are so hairy!!! LMAO

Anyways my first card is for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge #4 to use fun foam (I found an entire pack of A3 sized sheets in a huge range of colours tucked at the back of a load of my stamp boxes. No idea when I bought this but it looks pretty old!). I also used Papertrey Princess Leah's challenge to use a frame but no sentiment (I ended up using a very similar layout to Leah's as well, so must have subconsciously CASEd her card - thanks for the inspiration Leah!) and Totally Hues #3 to use Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Aqua Mist and Hawaiian Shores. (I am SOOOO happy to have found a PTI colour challenge blog!)

Recipe:

Stamps:  Butterfly Dreams, Mat Stack 1 Collection both from PTI

Papers: Orange Zest, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Stampers Select White, 2008 Bitty Dot Basics DSP all from PTI

Inks: Bermuda Bay (retired) from PTI (My Hawaiian Shores ink is so pale that I just can't use it now! I so need PTI to bring out their new inks soon!)

Accessories: Mat Stack 1 Die, Doily Details Die, Signature Series: Buttefly Die, Large Scalloped Border Die, Orange Zest Buttons and Ribbon all from PTI, Fun Foam from stash

My next butterfly card is for Mojo #180 and Paper Pal Arts challenge #83 to use Baja Breeze, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake - the exact colours used in the gorgeous Elegant Soiree pack!

Recipe:

Stamps: Framed Wishes, Beautiful Kindness both from Verve, Dot Spot from PTI

Papers: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree DSp all from SU

Inks: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede both from SU

Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Baja Breeze Ribbon (retired) both from SU, Doily Details Die from PTI, Icicle Stickles

My next card uses both butterflies and flowers! This one is for Sweet Sunday's Sketch Challenge # 107, Papertake Weekly's Anything Goes and add old Challenge (my old is the retired colours, DSP and ribbon), and CC49 to use Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow and Almost Amethyst.

Recipe:

Papers: Sage Shadow, Almost Amethyst, To The Nines DSp (all retired), Whisper White all from SU

Inks: Almost Amethyst, Sage Shadow (both retired), Chocolate Chip ink and marker all from SU

Accessories: Chocolate Chip Ribbon (retired), Scallop Trim Punch both from SU

And my final card for this post is for Truly Scrumptious' Challenge #52 for the sketch, Just Magnolia's Challenge #96 Anything Goes plus glitter (OK I only used a teensy tiny bit of glitter on the candles, but it still counts right?!) and CC312 to use Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Rose Red.

Recipe:

Stamps: Cupcake Collection from PTI, Tilda Carrying Birthday Cake from Magnolia

Papers: Marina Mist, Certainly Celery both from SU, Copics White, Pink DSP from Magnolia, Blue Flowered DSP from Kaisercraft

Accessories: Primas, Roses from Papermania, Gold Glitter Glue

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!
