SUO Challenges Guest Designer Post

A couple of weeks ago I was invited by Robin Messenheimer to be a guest designer for the SUO Challenges blog and as you all know I love my challenges, so I jumped at the chance.

Our theme for this week's challenge is Bright Sunny Days and I was instantly drawn to the idea of the beach.

It's a thing in Peterborough, where I live, that as soon as the sun shines, everyone heads down the coast for about an hour's drive to Hunstanton, or Sunny Hunny as it affectionately called. I spent many a weekend camping down there when I was a child and my parents have even gone and bought a static caravan right next to the pier and spend most of their free time there (I might have to borrow it next week while I'm on half term if I get the chance!). So what did I do? I made a beach card, although it's more of a Hawaiian beach than a Hunstanton beach....

So why don't you head over to SUO Challenges and check out the challenge?!

Make It Monday Challenge #67 Strawberry Patch Trilogy

This week's Make It Monday Challenge #67 was another step it up challenge, where you have to make 3 cards, each one a little more advanced then the previous one. This time Betsy Veldman was getting us to use patterned papers. These cards are also for SC386 for the sketch!

The first card was to use tone on tone colours or simple uncomplicated colours. I really wanted to use my new Strawberry Patch set, so opted for a red, green and black colour scheme for this first one.

The second card was to use papers from the same patterned paper pack. Still trying to stick to the same colour scheme, I used my Beautiful Blooms papers. I think the little touches of Hawaiian Shores looks fab with the red, green and black.

And the third card was to mix patterns and paper packs. I started off with a sheet of the strawberry print from Frutti Tutti and using the red and pink from that sheet, used a piece of the Simple Valentine pack and then added some leaves from the Green Tea Leaves pack.

And here's all the cards together.

I do really like this set of cards, but really love the first one the most!

A Splash of Pink

Just a couple pinky cards I made this weekend.

This first one is for Waltzing Mouse's Sketch Challenge #99, Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #218 to use pink and green and WT376 to use green. Quite a nice and quick one this one was!

My other pink card is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #5 for May, F4A118 to use hot pink and Color Throwdown's Challenge #193 to use these colours. Fab, bright, tropical colours! I don't have any Marvellous Magenta so I used Pink Passion instead.

And here's my card.
