Emily's Warm Winter Wishes

This fortnight's challenge #20 on the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog is Anything Goes. I did pick the gorgeous Polly Poinsettia as my free image which the lovely Manderly sent to me, but as I have no printer at home I have to wait until I pop into work this week to print it off (It's the half term holidays here in the UK so I have a week off work - or a week to catch up on everything I'm behind in I should really say!). So instead I used the gorgeous Emily Winter Wonderland for my card and will do another one after I've printed off Polly!

I thought Emily would look lovely in shades of aqua and white and came up with this colour combo.

Recipe:

Stamps: Emily Winter Wonderland from Lacy Sunshine, Snow Swirled from Stampin' Up, Stocking Prints from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Pool Party, Whisper White, In Colors 2013-15 DSP Stack all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card, Silver Pearlescent from local craft store

Inks: Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, White Chalk Marker all from Stampin' Up, Silver Ink from Ink It Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Whisper White Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Pool Party Printed Brad both from Stampin' Up, Cherish Punch Around the Page Set from Martha Stewart, Snowflake Corner Die from Memory Box, Fancy Labels 4 Dies from Sizzix, Stardust Stickles

And that's all from me for today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

And now for a little bit of Christmas...

Another Christmas card this time. I need a lot more of these than I do Hallowe'en ones so you'll be seeing a lot more too!

This card is for My Besties Challenge Anything Goes and for My Besties Aussie Challenge #9 to use white on white plus one other colour. I chose Wisteria Wonder for my other colour as I thought it would give a cool feel to this card.

(I'm lucky enough to be picked as a winner from both of these challenges last week - am just now anxiously waiting for my winning digis to arrive by email! Thank you so much for randomly choosing my cards!)

And here's my gorgeous Christmas Fairy Twinkle - gorgeous name too!

Recipe:

Stamps: My Besties IMG960 Christmas Fairy Twinkle from Sherri Baldy, Snow Swirled from Stampin' Up, Signature Christmas, Holiday Photo Finishers both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White both from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card, White Pearlescent card from local craft store

Inks: Wisteria Wonder from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Wisteria Wonder Baker's Twine, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon both from Stampin' Up, Large Frilly Frames #8 from Go Kreate, Tag Die from Marianne Creatables, Create A Flake 3 Dies from Spellbinders, Glamour Dust, Stardust Stickles, Snow Writer, Paper Doily from Dovecrafts

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Holy Smoke...It's Not Batman but Bat TIlda!

This card uses one of my favourite Hallowe'en Tilda images along with the cute little bats too! This is for Marvelous Magnolia's Challenge #50 to make either a Hallowe'en or Fall card, Totally Tilda's Challenge #83 to use tickets somewhere, ColourQ's Challenge #211 to use the colours below and I'm entering another one into Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #207 Spooky as I think this is gorgeous and spooky!

And here she is...The colours are sort of there, but kind of covered up for the most part. The Happy Halloween ticket is actually stamped with Wisteria Wonder, but looks grey in the photo!

Recipe:

Stamps: Bat Tilda, Bat, Fence all from Magnolia, That's The Ticket, Halloween Bash both from Stampin' Up

Papers: Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up, Oct 31 Patterned Papers from Fancy Pants, Black Glitter Card from local craft store

Inks: Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate, Wisteria Wonder, Tangerine Tango all from Stampin' Up, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Kiwi Kiss Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired), Ticket Duo Punch from Stampin' Up, Spider Web Border Punch from Martha Stewart, Cloud Dies (used as masks) from Papertrey Ink, Passe-Partout Oval CR1241 Die from Marianne Craftables

And I believe that should be my last Hallowe'en card for this year! Thanks for stopping by folks!

It's All White on the Night!

Charisma Cardz Challenge #42 this week is to make a white on white card, so I used this as a chance to make another Christmas card and used a combination of Confetti White card with white glitter paper to come up with this fairly CAS card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Snow Swirled from Stampin' Up

Papers: Confetti White (Retired) from Stampin' Up, White Glitter Paper from local craft store

Inks: Silver Ink from Ink It Up

Accessories: Create A Flake 3 Dies from Spellbinders, Diamond Stickles, Ornate Frame Dies from DoCrafts, Snowflake Embossing Folder from DoCrafts (possibly)

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

A few more Hope You Can Cling To Challenges

I'm trying to catch up on all the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges, but it's not really happening for me. I keep getting sidetracked and making other cards!

This first card is for Challenge #8 It's A Cover Up in which you had to have a hidden greeting. I used my zipper die from Papertrey Ink where you have to pull back the tab to reveal the rest of the sentiment (It says "...a birthday as special as you are."). I also used the colours from Color Throwdown's Challenge #265 for this one, keeping it fairly plain so the sentiment part was the focus.

And here's my card...

Recipe:

Stamps: Daydreamer, Movers & Shakers Sentiments both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Crisp Cantaloupe, Not Quite Navy (Retired), Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, In Colors 2013-15 DSP STack all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Crisp Cantaloupe, Not Quite Navy (Retired), Pistachio Pudding all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Baked Brown Sugar Stretch Ruffled Trim from Stampin' Up, Movers & Shakers Zippers Die from Papertrey Ink, Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities, Filigree Corner Die from La-La Land Crafts, Glitter from stash

My next card is for HYCCT7, which was to use leaves on your card. I love these leaves in the Harvest Berries set form Papertrey Ink and thought they would make for a peaceful card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Harvest Berries from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Riding Hood Red (Retired), Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Riding Hood Red (Retired), Handsome Hunter (Retired) both from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Mat Stack 1 Dies from Papertrey Ink

And my final HYCCT card is for Challenge 15A to use the sunburst technique with patterned paper of cardstock. I decided to use up some old scraps to make a quick Christmas card.

Stamps: Perfect Punches (Retired) from Stampin' Up

Papers: Real Red, River Rock (Retired), Very Vanilla, Dashing DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Real Red, River Rock (Retired) both from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Scalloped Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch both from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're joining in these fabulous challenges for this very worthy card drive!

Let It Snow

And now it's time for a Christmas card. I keep making the odd one here and there and slowly I am building up my Christmas card stash! Eventually I might have enough! (I always end up being short and frantically making more on Christmas Eve!). This card is for Crafty Little Fairies Anything Goes Challenge, for the newly found (by me anyway) In The Pink's Challenge #30 to use the sketch below and for Lili of the Valley's Monthly Challenge Anything Goes. I have no idea how I have never seen this challenge blog before, but it is just perfect for me as I love everything pink!

And here's my gorgeous Winter Fairy...

Recipe:

Stamps: Winter Fairy from Lili of the Valley, The Snowflake Spot (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Tremendous Treats: Christmas from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Regal Rose (Retired), Whisper White both from Stampin' Up, Silver Pearlescent card from stash, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Regal Rose (Retired), Blushing Bride, Pink Pirouette all from Stampin' Up, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Pink Pirouette Two Toned Ribbon (Retired), Silver Marker both from Stampin' Up, Oval Nestabilities, Create A Flake 3, Fancy Framed Tags 2 all from Spellbinders  Pearl Brads from Papermania, Snow Writer, Diamond Stickles, Clear Star Gelly Roll Pen, Filigree Border Die from Papertrey Ink

And that's all from me for today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Hallowe'en's Almost Here

I have made a few Hallowe'en decorations and tons of cards this year, but we still need to go pumpkin hunting and pick up some goodies should we get any trick or treaters on Thursday. This is one of my last Hallowe'en cards and is for My Besties Challenge to use a background stamp (I used the Witch's Dresser from Alota Stamps, which works perfectly for this cute My Besties witch cooking up some brew!), for My Besties UK Challenge Too Cute To Spook, for Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #207 Spooky and finally for Scrapbook Stamp Society's Challenge #24 Anything Goes with the option of Hallowe'en.

And here's my little cutie. I kept the card fairly plain in terms of embellishments as there just was simply no room to put any anywhere other than the ribbon along the top as both stamps are reasonably large.

Recipe:

Stamps: My Besties IMG043 from Sherri Baldy, Witch's Dresser from Alota Stamps

Papers: Old Olive, Basic Black, In Colors 2010-12 DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Old Olive Satin Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday Challenge #282 with StampFairy

It's time for another fabulous sketch at Sketch Saturday!

This week we have Stamp Fairy here to sponsor us once again and this weeks prize is a fabulous $10.00 gift certificate to spend at the Stamp Fairy store!

Here is Sketch #282 designed by our queen of sketches Jen!

And here's my card using Santa 3 from StampFairy. I adapted the sketch to fit a square card as my Santa image was too large for an A6 sized card. I'm also entering this into Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use a Christmas Tree - mine is hidden a bit by Santa but you can see it peeking out!

Recipe:

Stamps: Santa 3 Digi Stamp from StampFairy, Holiday Lights from Papertrey Ink, Snow Flurries (Retired) from Stampin' Up

Papers: Ruby Red (Retired), Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Holiday Treasures DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Chocolate Chip Twill Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Christmas Tree Die from Papertrey Ink, Snow Writer, Diamond Stickles, Anita's 3D Gloss

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can find the time to join in the challenge this week!

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #23

It's Challenge #23 of the Hope You Can Cling To Card Drive in honour of Breast Cancer Month over on Splitcoast Stampers today and today's challenge is to make a card inspired by a fairy tale. I just got this adorable little Fairy Princess digi stamp and thought she would be perfect for this challenge. I've actually made this one for a friend at work whose 6 year old daughter is going in to hospital for an eye operation next week so I made it all cute and girly with the requested brave princess sentiment on it. Hope she likes it!

And here she is...And boy did that sentiment take me forever to do! I don't have a small enough alphabet so had to keep masking letters from sentiments in a PTI set, but I kept getting them wonky or the ink would be on the next letter and get on the paper. After about 6 attempts at doing all the words together, I gave up and decided to have them separately instead. At least this way if I had a word that was perfect I could keep it instead of starting from scratch when I messed up!

Recipe:

Stamps: Fairy Princess from Milk Coffee, All About You from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Regal Rose (Retired), Pale Plum (Retired), Whisper White, Sweet Always DSP (Retired), Brights DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Regal Rose (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Labels 14 from Spellbinders, Butterfly Border Die, Hearts Corner Dies both from Joy Crafts, Ribbon from Stash, Gold Ice Stickles, Heart Border Die from Crafty Sentiments, Gems from The Works

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #22

Wow can you believe we are on Challenge #22 of the Hope You Can Cling To Card Drive already?! where has this month gone?

Today's challenge is a nice simple one - use flowers on your card. You don't have to use pink on your card, but I thought I would and love how soft and pretty this one is!

Recipe:

Stamps: Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2, Asian Fusion all from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Subtles DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Pear Pizzazz Ribbon (Retired), Neutrals Buttons (Retired), Pink Pirouette Two Toned Ribbon (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me today folks and don't forget to come and join in the challenge today!

Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #21

This is Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #21 - my own challenge for this very worthy card drive. All month Splitcoast Stampers are hosting a series of daily challenges to support Breast Cancer Month and I was asked to be a hostess this year.

My challenge is a very personal one and is dedicated to my lovely Aunt Heather, who unfortunately  was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. Luckily for her, it was caught very early and her treatment was started immediately. So far the treatment has been very successful and we hope it now stays away for good!

Heather truly showed what a strong fighter she was throughout her whole treatment and her love of life is just amazing (she's putting on a huge family party later on this year to celebrate "Life" and just how important it really is to be with loved ones!). One thing I love most about her is her love of all things Elvis - I think she still has a clock of Elvis on her living room wall! Now he's not my cup of tea, but I do find myself singing along with his songs that I was brought up on.

So my challenge is dedicated to her and is to make a card inspired by all things Elvis, be that the King of Rock 'n' Roll himself, his music, song titles, lyrics, his sequined outfits, his military uniform, whatever you like, but your card needs to show something Elvis-y!

And here's my card - can you guess which song title I used for this one?

Recipe:

Stamps: Mouthfuls Dog from Art Impressions, Star Prints from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Riding Hood Red (Retired), Not Quite Navy (Retired), Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Regals DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Paw Prints paper from Lili of the Valley, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red all from Stampin' Up, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Labels Framelits from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can join in the challenges over on SCS for this very worthy cause!

P.S. My card was inspired by the song Hound Dog!

Blue Roses

Just a quick little card I made today using the sketch from Just Add Ink's Challenge #187 and CC441 to use Night of Navy, Cajun Craze and Soft Sky, although I did a mix of Soft Sky and Pool Party on this one, but you can't really tell! (Well I hope not anyway!)

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2, Asian Fusion all from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Cajun Craze, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Soft Sky, Night of Navy, Cajun Craze all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Regals Button (Retired), Pool Party Baker's Twine both from Stampin' Up

Funky Boots

I just love these funky witch's boots and just had to squeeze a Hallowe'en card in using them! this card is for ColourQ's Challenge #211 to use this fab bright combo and for Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use Halloween colours. I'm also entering it into Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #18 Put Your Brave Boots On to make a card with boots or shoes on.

And here it is. I used some scrap strips to make a stripy background of sorts, but actually quite like how it came out, even though it wasn't quite the way I pictured it!

Recipe:

Stamps: Bootiful Occasions from Stampin' Up

Papers: Lucky Limeade (Retired), Basic Black, Whisper White, In Colors 2011-13 DSP Stack (Retired), In Colors 2013-15 DSP Stack, Brights DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Basic Black, Lucky Limeade (Retired) both from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Window Frames Framelits, Basic Black Satin Ribbon (Retired) both from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate and Wish Big

I really like this cupcake stamp but have hardly used it, probably because I usually use my marker pens to ink it up and it never comes out very well that way, so today I stamped each part with the ink pad and cut them out before reassembling them. This was a much better stamped and clearer image this way!

This card is for Charisma Cardz Challenge #41 to use a food image and for Fussy and Fancy's Challenge #100 Celebrate, in honor of their 100th challenge!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sweet Cake from Stampin' Up, Half & Half from Papertrey Ink

Sparkling Butterflies

I love me some butterflies and even better if they are sparkly ones! I used the colours from Color Throwdown's Challenge #264 and the sketch from SC453 for this one and although the colours are definitely not a combo I would choose myself, I do quite like it.

And here's my card with lots of sparkle!

Recipe:

My Besties Guest Designer Post

A couple of weeks ago I was picked as the DT favourite for the My Besties Lavender Challenge and as well as winning a few digi stamps, I was invited by Sherri and Cindy to be the guest designer for today's new challenge, which is to make a baby or kids card.

Now for those of you who know me, I don't do babies (or I should say they don't do me. Must be the lack of maternal instincts they can sense!), but I do like kids (I have to really as a primary school teacher :P). So I jumped straight onto this challenge and made a cute girly birthday card. I used lots of pink and didn't cover it in flowers like I normally would! Not sure little girls like pretty flowers so much. I totally loved making this card!

And here she is using IMG562.

Recipe:

Stamps: My Besties IMG562 from Sherri Baldy Designs, Make A Wish, Make A Wish Additions both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Regal Rose (Retired), Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Sweet Always DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Regal Rose (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Regal Rose Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Circle Nestabilities, Loopy Border Die from CArt Us, Diamond Stickles, Heart Banner Die from La-La Land Crafts

I would like to say a big thank you to Sherri and all the other DT girls for choosing my card as a favourite and inviting me to guest design with them all this week. It has been such fun making this card and an honour to be part of the team this week.

Hope you can all join in the challenge this week as well.

Honeysuckle Rose

Such a pretty name for a little girl, don't you think?! This is my effort for Lacy Sunshine's Challenge #19 to use fall colours. I do actually have the digi stamp that Lacy Sunshine are offering as the challenge digi this week, but I used her on this card the other week and haven't got any more printed off and as I haven't got a printer that actually works at home, I thought I would use a different stamp and I'm glad I did. I totally love this stamp and how she came out in these Autumnal colours.

Recipe:

Stamps: Honeysuckle Rose Flower Pot Pretties from Lacy Sunshine, Embellishments from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Whisper White, Haiku DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Tangerine Tango from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: So Saffron Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities, Die-Namics Double Scallop Border Die from MFT, Foam Rose from Hobbycraft, Paper Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, Corner and Winter Sentiments Die from Marianne Creatables

And that's all from me for today folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Scene It Sunday #180 Featuring Fore You from Di's Digi Stamps

Good morning and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday. This week I have used this cute golfing mice image from Di's Digi Stamps, ...
