The Stamping Chef Challenge #40

It's Wednesday and that must mean it is time for Team A to showcase their cards for this week's The Stamping Chef Challenge #40, which is an Anything Goes challenge. I chose to use the gorgeous CurveBomb for my challenge card this week and made it especially for my Aunt's birthday which is coming up very soon. She loves all things 50s so this image is perfect for her.

And here she is from the front...

And here is slightly side on view so you can see the centre step fold a bit better.

Festival Lily

All Dressed Up have joined forces with Kit and Clowder on Facebook to colour in this gorgeous festival Lily digi, which they are giving away free if you follow their competition rules. I managed to get a couple printed off on Friday so jumped straight into this morning to make a card using this pretty little girl.

This card is for the Kit & Clowder competition (obviously) and for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge, which is an anything goes one.

And here she is...Love this hair combo (used to be one of my faves - purple with turquoise streaks when I was younger and used to go to Reading Festival every year. Now I'm far too old to sleep in a tent and it's no longer a rock festival but more of a pop one. Not my taste in music at all).  I used my new PATP set again as well! Love these and will be building up my stash by buying one each month!

Recipe:

Stamps: Festival Lily from All Dressed Up/Kit & Clowder Facebook competition

Book Like Friend

I made a quick, little card today using this cute digi from The East Wind and for some reason it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland - must have that story on the brain at the minute! The cat is definitely cheeky like the Cheshire Cat; there's also a heart in her hair for the Queen of Hearts. There's nothing else really that is Alice in Wonderland related but it still makes me think of it...LOL

Anyway this card is for The East Wind's Facebook challenge #6 to use a funny sentiment. I don't actually have many funny ones, but this one always makes me smile. I'm also entering it into The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge which is an anything goes challenge this week and for Charisma Cardz Challenge #16 to use ribbon, twine and a charm. I have lots of butterfly charms, which I didn't think would go well with this one and then found a couple of these clock ones hidden in a box and thought it would go well with my Alice in Wonderland idea! "I'm late. I'm late! For a very important date!"

Recipe:

Stamps: Lucy Loo Bookaholic from The East Wind, All Booked Up from Papertrey Ink

The Paper Shelter Challenge Anything Goes

It's Wednesday so that must mean it's time for another challenge from The Paper Shelter and this week is slightly different from our usual challenges. It's an anything goes challenge, but will last for 2 weeks rather than the usual 1 week. This is for our summer holiday and gives you all more time to enter your cards too.

If you haven't worked it out by now I have a thing for all things mythical and magical and whilst watching Charmed this morning the episode came on in which Lady Godiva is transported into the Charmed Ones' world. I just had to pull out this cute image of a girl on a unicorn as it just reminded me of Lady Godiva and later on Pheobe dressed as Godiva riding her horse naked through the town! LOL

Anyway here is my Princess and her Unicorn card. I attempted to do horse hair on the unicorn and it didn't quite turn out right, but I think I have an idea of how to do it again.

Walking On

Now I'm on holiday for the next 6 weeks or so, I will have loads more time for crafting, so this is today's effort. I thought I would push myself a little bit and tried the no lines technique for the very first time. I have always been worried about not being able to see what I was doing but it was actually easier than I thought it would be. I used the light version that comes with the Walking On digi as well as having the normal dark lines one next to me whilst I was colouring to check where the lines were supposed to be.

This card is for Saturated Canary's Facebook Challenge #3 which is an Anything Goes one as is the challenge from Through The Craftroom Door and finally for The Ribbon Girl's Colour Challenge for July to use aqua/turquoise.

And here she is...I'm really pleased with how her face turned out, but did get a bit sloppy with the frantage!

It's time for the A Team to post their fabulous creations on the Stamping Chef Challenge Blog for another great challenge this week. I chose to use the gorgeous Copic Alyce Fairy which Tamara designed specifically for Alyce Keegan of Kit and Clowder to celebrate a milestone on her Facebook group. You may recognise my coloured image as the one that is used in the shop and was also used on The Stamping Chef's promotional banner for the competition on Facebook too. Beach Life

This is the second card I made today and I went for a beach scene on this one. As it's almost the end of the school year here in the UK, I always give out thank you cards to my TAs, volunteers and cleaner for helping me out throughout the year. I also want to wish them a happy Summer, so this card is for one of them.

This is for Crafty Sentiments' Challenge Anything Goes and for Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #244 to add a tag. Just could not get the skin to work properly on this one - wouldn't blend at all well and kept going all patchy. I think my copics probably need a clean!

Sweet Summertime

I made a couple of cards today, but found it really hard to get going with both of them. I think it must have been that Sunday morning feeling as they both seemed to take me forever despite not being very difficult or fussy cards! Anyway this first card is for Whimsy Stamps Challenge #72 Summertime. I thought this cute Lollipop Girl was perfect for this challenge.

I used some of my mountain of SU DSP - this packet was actually unopened and is now retired! I will be soon selling a load of my old SU stamp sets as I am not going to be a demonstrator for them any longer after this quarter - no point as I don't use their stamps any more really. I do like their card, ribbon, ink and patterned papers as it all matches, but the stamps are just not my style now and there's only so many flower stamp sets I need or want!

Anyway here she is...

Recipe:

Stamps: Lollipop Girl from Time for Tea Designs @ Whimsy Stamps, Tag Its #9, Friendship Jar Summer Fillers both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: So Saffron, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Retro Fresh DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Very Exciting News!!!

I have some fabulous news to share with you all that I am still so excited about. I received an email from Mi Ran of Art by MiRan last week asking me if I would like to be their new Facebook Fan Page Challenge Coordinator. I still cannot believe she has asked me to join this fantastic team of designers and of course I said yes. Who in their right mind wouldn't?!

We have some fantastic ideas coming up for the challenges and we are making a few changes. Firstly we are going to be having 2 challenges each month, which gives you even more opportunity to share your fabulous Art by MiRan creations and gives you more chances at winning the digi prizes too.

We will also be inviting some of the fans from the page to join us as guest designers for each challenge as well. How exciting is all that?!

As a little thank you to both MiRan and Jackie for inviting me and for letting me join in this exciting new adventure, I have made this cute card using Bashful Belinda.

Recipe:

Stamps: Bashful Belinda from Art by MiRan, Spell It Out from Whimsy Stamps

Thank A Latte Michele

I made this card today for my very good friend Michele, whom I work with. She's always there for me when I need her and me for her and as she told me earlier today, we're usually joined at the hip. I love it when you can find that special friend, who knows you better than you know yourself. As we work in a school and the holidays are coming up, this card is to remind her that we need our regular girly chats during the 6 week break!

This card is for Tiddly Inks Challenge #136 BFF, Scrapbook Stamp Society's Challenge #45 Anything Goes with Pearls or Rhinestones and for Charisma Cardz Challenge #15 Anything Goes. I also used a combination of our favourite colours for it - purple for Michele and pink for me! I was feeling a bit soppy today as I know I will miss our daily chats during the holiday!
