Fantasy Friday #29 Featuring Once Upon A Time from Christine Karron

Good morning and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post! This week I have another colouring for you using this gorgeous image, Once Upon A Time, from Christine Karron, which is for the monthly challenge in her fan Facebook group. There was also an added twist to this month's challenge which was to write a story to go along with this image!

I'm not great at story writing, but here's my attempt...

"No, it can't be them already!" Kiara whispered.
"Quick, let's move just in case," Riordan replied.

They quickly began to make their way through the forest, deeper and deeper, darker and darker, but they could still hear the pounding of heavy footfalls behind them, getting louder and louder as they got closer and closer. Riordan kept a tight grip on his beloved's hand, knowing that if they were caught he would never see her again. Hearts pounding like drums trying to burst through their chests, they kept on going, even though their legs felt like they would give way any moment now.

They finally arrived at the circle of gigantic oak trees in the middle of a clearing. This was their only chance to activate the portal out of Faerie that would save them. Kiara looked all around, but nothing or no-one was there...yet.

"Hurry, Riordan. Please!" she frantically cried, glancing in every direction still. She knew that should her father's men capture her, she would be whisked away to the dungeon and very likely be killed and all because she had fallen in love with the wrong Fae. Riordan was one of the Light Fae, one who used the power of the Sun and light, whereas she was one of the Shadow Fae, one who used the powers of dark magic. Light and dark magics should never mix, but she couldn't stop the feelings that had developed for Riordan over the many months they had been meeting at the lake. She loved him with all her heart and would do anything to be with him forever, even if that meant leaving her family and friends behind.

Her father, who was king of his realm, just did not understand her love for Riordan and once her wings had started to fade from the deepest black to a lighter purple, she could no longer hide the fact that she was starting to change. She was utterly in love and they had no other choice, but to run.

Riordan had cast the runes on the barks of the trees and was just about the carve the final mark of the last rune when out of the trees burst three of the Shadow Fae guards, all dressed in black with the purple emblem of the Shadow Fae on their chest armour.

"Halt right there!" the tallest one shouted at them. Kiara gasped and slowly stepped back towards Riordan. "I said halt!" the guard repeated, whilst the other two knocked arrows into their bows and aimed them at each of distraught lovers.

"You cannot take us," Kiara cried. "We belong together!"
"Just let us go," Riordan demanded, his eyes pleading silently at the head guard.

Seeing the guards hesitate ever so slightly, Fae Princess Kiara moved closer to the ring of trees. Riordan moved his hand to finish the final mark. The portal began to swirl, light engulfing the ring of trees. He grabbed Kiara's hand and pulled her in, not knowing where this portal would lead them, but together they could face anything.

Hope that wasn't too bad!

Simply B Stamps January Progressive Challenge

Good morning! Hope you're all feeling better than I have been these past few days. I'm recovering from a horrible head cold - stuffy nose, sore throat, headaches, neck ache etc etc. It all just makes my head feel so heavy!

Anyway while sat in bed, I had time to write up today's post, so I can share this month's progressive challenge from Simply B Stamps, using this gorgeous girl with her delicious looking cake and candy canes! Would be good for a birthday card too! The only rules we had this month was that we were not allowed to use any red, so I went for one of my favourite combos - pink and aqua! These papers match the colours I used on her perfectly!

Fantasy Friday #28 Featuring Faerie Marci from La-La Land Crafts

Good morning and welcome to this week's Fantasy Friday post. Today I am sharing one of my favourite fairy images from La-La Land Crafts and used the mushrooms and flowers from the same digi stamp set as well.

I did find it hard to find some patterned papers to match the colours of the image for this one. I tend to colour as and when I can and just randomly choose colours without thinking about what I will put with it sometimes! I think these colours work ok though!

Faery Ink Inspiration Post

Good morning and welcome to my first Faery Ink Inspiration post of the month! Today I have used the adorable Cheshire Kitty from the Chibis in Wonderland collection that Amanda so generously gave away during her birthday weekend on Facebook a couple of weekends ago.

I decided to do something different and created a large banner flag in similar colours to the colours I used to colour the little kitty in. The sentiment I got from the internet!

You can read more about this banner flag on my Faery Ink post here
