Faery Ink Inspiration Post Featuring Flowery Fae Demera

Good morning everyone and welcome to my inspiration post for Faery Ink this week. I have used the gorgeous Flowery Fae Demera for this card, one of the recent releases and used some of my new patterned papers as the basis for my colour combo this time!

You can read more about my card here on the Faery Ink Blog

Sweet November Fairy in the Field!

Good evening and welcome to my post today. I have used the adorable Flora Sweetbrier digi stamp with the Tree #3 both from Sweet November Digital Stamps, available from 7 Kids Crafts and also added some other toadstool and flower digi stamps.

When I first put this scene together, I just wanted to make a big image to colour to practise various techniques and I really like how it came out. However, when it came to making something with it, the colouring was so big that it just about fit on a card and therefore I kept it really plain and simple (so unlike me!).

This card is also for

Scrapper's Delights VIP Anime Deal Featuring Zodiac Taurus

Good evening everyone and welcome to my post for the new VIP Deal from Scrapper's Delight. Every month Janice is releasing a new zodiac image and this month it is Taurus's turn. As we all know Taurus is represented by a bull and I just love how Janice has incorporated this idea into this digi stamp.

Here is the deal that you can purchase this month. You can only get this set as part of this bundle so why not get the other gorgeous images from this month's new releases and get this one for free!

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else On Saturday post. This week I am joining in with the Tiddly Inks Challenge and using the free digital stamp they are giving away so you can join in with this challenge.

I thought I would try something a bit different in my layout and am trying to use up lots of crafting odds and end that I have accumulated over the years. Hoppy Easter!

Good morning everyone! I don't tend to make a lot of Easter cards, but I just bought this cute set from Lawn Fawn and decided to use my Let's Toast Pull Tab die to make a three-way pull up, so it looks like the bunnies are hopping up and down with excitement for Easter!

It took a bit of faffing about but I eventually got it to work, although it is a bit stiff pushing the tab back down! I think I have over bent the card a bit trying it and moving things around too much, but it looks cute!

Newton Dreams of Paris

Good afternoon and welcome to a random post from me today! I made this card the other day but never got round to blogging it and after the devastating fire of Notre Dame the other day I thought I would share it to show my love of Paris. We went to Paris for my 40th birthday a few years ago and went to see Notre Dame. Unfortunately we didn't get to go inside as the queues were massive and we hadn't booked any early pass tickets, so we always said we would go back one day to see it again. The outside itself was just stunning. I really do hope that they are able to restore it.

Anyway...here's my card using the adorable Newton Dreams of Paris set. I used the sketch from the latest Inky Paws Challenge and this is my first time entering one of their challenges. I now have a few Newton's Nook stamp sets, so I can join in at last!

Something Else on Saturday #6 Featuring Little Fairy Agenda from Mama Elephant

Happy Saturday! One week of my holiday over already and where did the time go?! I haven't really done very much to be honest - met up with friends for a Costa's, went out for dinner, did a bit of shopping, got my car fixed, sort out some of my books on my new kindle (this is a mammoth task!) and tidied up the spare room and put some shelves up for my Irregular Choice shoe boxes (and there still wasn't enough room for them all! Think we need a new house!)

Anyway on to my card for today...I just loved these tiny little fairies when they were released and had to buy them straight away, but have never found time to use them until this week! I also used the Mushroom house dies from Lawn Fawn to make a pretty pink fairy house!

Scrapper's Delights April Progressive Challenge

Good evening and welcome to my post for the new progressive challenge from Scrapper's Delight for this month. Our image this month follows the same theme as the new releases that were released last week and is another elf, but this time a male one, Gelmir Elf.

Elves to me can either be Christmas cute ones or more hunter type woodland elves in the lines of Legolas from Lord of the Rings. I love the character of Legolas in the books and having Orlando Bloom play him in the Peter Jackdon trilogy of movies was a perfect choice as he is just so drool worthy with that gorgeous long blonde hair and those piercing blue eyes!

The month's image is definitely the woodland variety and I went with a brown and green colour combo to reflect this. I also added a quote I found on Pinterest that Legolas himself supposedly says, but I thought it was quite a reflective one and fitted well with the theme.

This card is also for

She's Practically Perfect In Every Way!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #378 Add Some Stars

Good morning and welcome to my DT for the new challenge this week from The Paper Shelter. Our challenge this week is to use stars on your project.

I used the fun digi stamp, The Goalkeeper, to add a card to my male cards collection, which I have to admit is very small! I printed out the matching patterned paper and then printed the image to the same size on Make It Colour card so I could colour him with my Copics and then fussy cut him out to add to the paper. It was a bit fiddly cutting him up but I do love how it turned out in the end. Was definitely worth it!

This card is also for

Recipe:

Stamps: The Goalkeeper from The Paper Shelter, Star Prints from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point & Polka Dot Parade DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Let's Taco About Your Birthday!

Good morning and welcome to a random in-the-middle-of-my-holiday post when I have more free time to actually craft! It's the Easter holidays here in the UK and being a teacher I get the whole 2 weeks and 1 day off, although I do have some school work to do, like planning and making lesson resources! But for this week I am actually having a holiday and am catching up on some of the fun (and not so fun) stuff that I want to get done, but never have the time or energy to do! First on the agenda - crafting and entering a few challenges that I never get round to doing!

So....here's a fun birthday card using the new Year Nine from Lawn Fawn with the taco stamp! I actually love tacos and we eat them all the time at home and often go to our local Mexican restaurant and have them there too.

I used some old retired Stampin' Up papers on this card, but kept with the red, green and yellow theme to represent the tomatoes and salsa, lettuce and guacamole and cheese that I love to smother over my minced beef tacos!

This card is for

Recipe:

Stamps: Year Nine from Lawn Fawn

Papers: Wild Wasabi (Retired), Whisper White, Hello Honey (Retired) & Junior Varsity DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and see you all again soon!

Something Else on Saturday #5 Featuring Dark-Hunter Simi

Good morning and welcome to my latest Something Else on Saturday post. This week I have gone for something very different from my usual style I guess. I am a HUGE urban fantasy/paranormal romance reader - more UF than PNR to be honest, but I do dip in the romance sometimes! Anyway, one of my favourite series is a paranormal romance one - The Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. This series all revolves around a group of Ancient Greek/Atlantean gods and the warriors, Dark-Hunters, who fight the daemons on Earth.

This character is my all-time fave. Simi is a Charonte demon and is the faithful companion of Acheron, the leader of the Dark-Hunters. She lives on him as a moving tattoo, but can come to life as and when Ash asks her to. She loves to eat everything and anything as long as she can cover it in barbecue sauce! The other images on the page all come from the books as well - Acheron's symbol is the sun with 3 lightning bolts and the Dark-Hunter's symbol from Artemis, who first created them, is the double bow. Sanctuary is a bar run by a family of were-bears and truly is a sanctuary for all.

The sentiment is one of my favourites from the books - it actually comes from A Dark-Hunter's Christmas, a short novella in the series, but is so true! I added lots of glitter glue all over as well to share Simi's love of all things diamonique as well! She buys lots of shinies from QVC!

Recipe:

Stamps: The Dark-Hunter Colouring Book, Sentiment - Computer Generated

Papers: Basic Black from Stampin' Up, Pretty Red Classics Patterned Papers from The Works, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Inks: Copic Markers, Silver Star Gelly Roll Pen

Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20, R30
Red - R35, R37, R39
Black - C5, C7, C9

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you all again soon with next week's Something Else post!

Scrapper's Delights New Release - Warrior Elf Princess

Good evening and welcome to my DT post for the new releases from Scrapper's Delights. This month I am using the gorgeous Warrior Elf Princess. I absolutely love this image and attempted to put her in the middle of a forest.

My background didn't quite come out as I envisioned as I did all the branches first and then added the leaves, but unfortunately the leaves had to sit behind the branches and it just didn't look right! I nearly scrapped the whole thing, but my boyfriend suggested adding some die cut leaves over the top! I actually used a small punch and now it looks so much better! Sometimes he does have some good ideas! LOL
