My other challenge cards from the weekend!

My first card for this collection of challenges is for Stacey's Curtain Call #23 to use Pretty in Pink, Kraft, White and Black and for Crazy For Challenges #30 - the sketch. I loved the white damask pattern on the kraft wallpaper in Stacey's inspiration photo so used that as my starting point.

Recipe:

Stamps: Damask Designs from PTI, A Rose Is A Rose, Well Scripted (my new fave sentiment set!)

Papers: Pretty in Pink, Basic Black, Kraft, Whisper White

Inks: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose

Accessories: Frosted Lace Stickles, Scallop Trim Border Punch from the US SAB catalogue! It's gorgeous and I so hope we get it over here too.

My next card is for SCS' SC272 and CC262 to use Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Orchid Opulence - a great colour combo for which I can use my new Cottage Wall DSP!! This paper pack is just divine - the patterns are beautiful and the colours are so rich and pretty!

Recipe:

Stamps: Well Scripted, Baroque Motifs

Papers: Orchid Opulence, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Cottage Wall DSP

Inks: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, White Gel Pen

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Ribbon, Old Olive button, purple embroidery thread

My next card is for SCS SC273 and for Farm Fresh Friday's color challenge to use Red, Blue and Yellow! I don't do boy's cards very often and these colours are just perfect for one, so I dug out my faithful Skater Ian and made this.... (I must buy some other boy stamps from the Greeting Farm especially now my local craft shop is stocking them!)

Recipe:

Stamps: Skater Ian from The Greeting Farm, Signature Greetings from PTI

Papers: So Saffron, Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Junior Varsity DSP (retired, but perfect for boys cards)

Inks: Riding Hood Red, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Ciaos

Accessories: Labels One Nestabilities, Paper Piercing Tool and Mat, Card Candy from Craftwork Cards

Up next is a card for Mojo131 and Color Throwdown #85 to use Baja Breeze, Garden Green, Certainly Celery and cream, but I messed up and used white by mistake!

Recipe:

Stamps: Petals and Stems from Verve, Oval All, Polka Dot Background stamp

Papers: Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Whisper White

Inks: Garden Green, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze

Accessories: Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbon, Small oval punch, Scallop oval punch

My next card is for Mercy's Sketch #66 and for the Stamp With Us colour challenge. I hardly ever use orange on cards othan than Hallowe'en ones but I actually like the orange and pink combo here. That velvet ribbon was the last bit I had and I had just enough to do the bow and add an inch or so on both sides of the image, which was probably a good thing as it's very thick ribbon and would have made the card too bulky.

Recipe:

Stamps: Garden Whimsy, Hello Again

Papers: Only Orange, Pink Passion, Whisper White, Kaleidoscope DSP

Inks: Only Orange, Pink Passion, Green Galore markers

Accessories: Orange velvet ribbon from stash

My next challenge is the template challenge from Just Us Girls #26 and I used a butterfly box template from Papermania that I found hidden amongst some random DSP that I was looking through when trying to find some papers for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge. I completely forgot that I had even bought it, let alone used it! I'm not overly happy with this one - there's something I don't like about the butterfly on the top. It looked funny left blank and doesn't look right with the (poorly drawn) swirls and pearls either. I'm going to try another one at some point and maybe stamp on the butterfly BEFORE I stick it all together and decide I don't like it!

Recipe:

Stamps: None

Papers: Orchid Opulence, Cottage Wall DSP (OMG how pretty are these papers?!)

Inks: Old Olive marker

Accessories: Papermania Butterfly Box template, Old Olive twill

My next card is one I completely forgot to upload when I did it last week. I blame Ofsted for their intrusion on my work and home life balance LOL This one is for Mercy's Sketch #65 and Color Throwdown's #84 to use Taken With Teal, Black, Soft Sky and Tangerine Tango! I didn't think I'd like this one so much but I do when there's just a splash of orange.

Recipe:

Stamps: Vintage Vogue

Papers: Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Whisper White, Bali Breeze DSP, Soft Sky DSP (which I didn't realise I even had!)

Inks: Tangerine Tango, Soft Sky, Taken With Teal

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities

My next two cards are for the March challenges over on the In Love With Stamping forum. The first is the colour challenge in which we were only allowed to use neutral colours. I chose Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Very Vanilla. It is also for SCS Free For All #2 to make a free standing pop up card. Even though I only did one of these a few weeks ago I still had to use the instructions here - try one they are SO easy to do!

Recipe:

Stamps: Bags, Boxes and Tags and Signature Greetings both from PTI

Papers: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla

Inks: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla craft ink

Accessories: Chocolate Chip satin ribbon (coming to a catalogue near you very soon!), Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon

And my final card for today is for the Inspiration challenge from the March challenges. It's also for SCS Free For All #3 - I want the fairytale, which instantly reminded me of weddings so this card qualifies for that challenge too. The bizarre colour combo comes from the inspiration photo and even though I wouldn't normally use it for a wedding card, I kinda like it! I used the sketch from Taylored Expressions #105 as well.

Recipe:

Stamps: Happy Moments, Well Scripted (don't you just love that font?!), Forever Flowers wheel

Papers: Apricot Appeal, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White

Inks: Basic Black, Green Galore,  SU Markers in Orchid Opulence, Green Galore, Apricot Appeal, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black

Accessories: Lilac ribbon from Dovecraft

So that's all folks.....I'll be back later on in the week no doubt with a few more challenges done! I love having holidays where I can craft til my heart's content!

Challenges Galore

Hello and Happy New Year to you all. I've been on a challenges kick today and thought I'd show you some of the cards I've made for the various challenges I like to do. I love doing different challenges as they always make me try things I would probably never try on my own.

I've got 5 cards to show you so bare with the long posting today.

The first challenge was from Our Creative Corner and was to create a 3D project. I made a very simple but necessary calendar for my desk, using one of the calendar thingys that were left over after making the kids calendars at school.

These are ever so quick and easy to make - just cover 2 blank beer mats with DSP, punch 3 holes in the top with a Crop-a-dile, tie them together with some ribbon, stick the calendar on the front and voila all done!

Recipe:

Stamps: None

Papers: DCWV The Sweet Matpack, SU Chocolate Chip cs

Inks:
None

Accessories: Chocolate satin ribbon, calendar thingy (no idea what you call these), blank beer mats

My next card is for
A Passion for Papertrey's Superstars challenge which is to use stars on your project. I'm not a fan of stars as such, but have tons of stamp sets with stars in, which is good for this challenge. I haven't done one of these Papertrey challenges for ages and have missed doing them so I'm definitely going to put these challenges back on one of my regular challenges to do list.

Recipe:

Stamps: Everyday Classics, Polka Dot Basics - PTI

Papers: Hibiscus Burst, Sweet Blush, White - PTI

Inks: Hibiscus Burst, Sweet Blush - PTI

Accessories: Hibiscus Burst polka dot and stitched grosgrain ribbons and button, Sweet Blush grosgrain ribbon, Labels 4 Nestabilities

The next card is for the
Stamp With Us colour challenge using this photo for inspiration.
I made a flowerpot card as I have never done one before and used the colours Summer Sun, Bravo Burgundy and Always Artichoke. You can't really see in the photo but I did fold up the petals of the flowers slightly to make them a little more 3D rather than just flat flowers.

This is the closed version if you like, with the insert inside the pot.

And this is the insert with a little greeting from Curvy Verses added.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sanded, Curvy Verses

Papers: Always Artichoke, Summer Sun, Bravo Burgundy

Inks: Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy

Accessories: Bravo Burgundy ribbon, 5 petal flower punch, 1/2" circle punch, scallop edge punch

My next card is a triple challenge one! It is for Splendid Stamping's Fresh Farm Friday challenge to use a Greeting Farm stamp and glitter - definately covered that one! The sketch is Taylored Expressions #97 and Papertake's New Beginnings challenge - this is a new Anya stamp that I got just this week.

Recipe:

Stamps: Lolli Anya - TGF

Papers: Melon Mambo, Baja Breeze, non SU white cs, DCWV The Sweet Matpack

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Ciaos

Accessories: Melon Mambo ribbon, pink and turquoise glitter glues on the lolly

And my final card is another triple challenge one! The sketch is for Mojo Monday's #120 challenge. The colour combo comes from Stacey's Curtain Call #11 and also for A Spoonful of Sugar's challenge to use hearts on a card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Kindred Spirits - Verve

Papers: Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Whisper White, Going Gray, Merry Moments DSP, Tea & Crumpets DSP

Inks: Always Artichoke, Old Olive

Accessories: MS Heart Border punch, Oval nestabilities, Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, Grey brads covered with irridescent glitter glue
Phew glad all that's done. Now I just have to link my cards to the various challenge blogs!!

Birthday Gift for Stamp With Us Challenge #2

It was my friend Chris' birthday last week (Happy Birthday Chris!!). I was a little stumped as to what to get her as she already has everything she wants (lucky girl!). Luckily for me she has a little interest in card making so I decided to make a little paper/cardstock set for her to use. I used the Filed With Flair Timeless Template from Papertrey Ink to make the file folder, then decorated it with the new Washington Apple Designer Papers from SU.

I then added some packages of different papers and cardstock. Each package had 4 pieces of different DP (I used Washington Apple, Tea Party and Rainbow Sherbet) with 4 card blanks in coordinating colours and 8 pieces of the same coloured cardstock for mounting images etc. Each package was then wrapped in coordinating grosgrain ribbon.

To go with the set I made a joy fold card using the same colours and DP as the file folder and Chris loved the fact that they matched!

I thought I would also enter this in the Stamp With Us challenge #2 seeing as the theme for this challenge was Birthday.

Recipe for File Folder and Joy Fold Card:

Stamps: Sincere Salutations

Papers: Riding Hood Red (US In Colors 09 not available over here unfortunately), Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Washington Apple Designer Papers

Inks: Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, Flower Punchies, Bashful Blue brads, Filed with Flair template

Stamp With Us Challenge #1

Over on the Stamp With Us blog run by 3 fellow ILWS stampers, a new challenge has been set with Stampin' Up as the main focus. You don't have to use SU products, but seeing as I'm an SU demo why not use the products (I have to admit I'm using SU so much nowadays that I hardly use anything else anyway especially cardstock and ink wise!)?

Here's the sketch the girls set:

I didn't realise it was supposed to be a square card until I finished it and I didn't have any more time to do any more card making today so it will have to do for now...If I get the time I will attempt another one :P

I'm so loving Cameo Coral at the minute - it's more orangey-pink than the photo shows but is a lovely bright alternative to use.

Recipe:

Stamps: True Friend, Oval All

Papers: So Saffron, Cameo Coral, Whisper White, Old Olive and So Saffron Designer Prints

Inks: Cameo Coral ink pad and marker, Old Olive marker

Accessories: Oval punch, So Saffron brad, Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.
