Dotty Ice Cream

I love ice cream and I love dots so this card just had to combine the two for a few challenges! It is for A Passion for Papertrey's Something Sweet Challenge, Charisma Cardz Challenge #32 to use an ice cream image or ice cream colours (I did both), for F4A182 to use dots and for SC449 for the sketch, which I turned on its side!

And here it is - my strawberry, chocolate and vanilla ice cream!

Recipe:

Stamps: As Sweet As Can Be from Papertrey Ink

Papers: So Saffron, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, In Colors 2013-15 DSP Stack all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Crumb Cake, Strawberry Slush, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: As Sweet As Can Be Dis from Papertrey Ink, Chocolate Chip Scalloped Polka Dot Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Doilies

This quick card is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch #220 with a twist of adding doilies and for A Passion for Papertrey's Birthday Celebrations challenge. I pulled out my much loved Delightful Doilies set which I actually haven't used in a while and some pretty PTI colours and off I went! Not sure if you can tell in the photo but after I had stamped everything I impressed the layer with my Linen plate, just to give it a little bit of texture.

And here's my card...

Recipe:

Stamps: Delightful Doilies, Tag Its #2 and #10 all from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Lemon Tart, Kraft, Stampers Select White all from Papertrey Ink

Inks: Lemon Tart, Winter Wisteria, Autumn Rose all from Papertrey Ink

Accessories: Large Scalloped Border Die, Linen/Canvas Impression Plate, Kraft Swiss Dots Satin Ribbon all from Papertrey Ink

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Pillow Inspiration

This fortnight's challenge on A Passion for Papertrey was to be inspired by something. Last week I went and bought a new bedding set (that completely does not go with the bedroom decor but as we're hopefully moving this summer it will be decorated differently anyways!) and the cushion I bought to go with it was my inspiration. I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday's Challenge #300 - Happy Birthday Mojo!

And here's my card - I used the colours and stitched flowers with a touch of gold embossing and glitter too!

Recipe:

Stamps: Stitches and Swirls from Papertrey ink, Birthday Surprise from Verve Stamps

Papers: Coastal Cabana, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, In Colors 2010-12 DSP (Retired), Chocolate Chip Prints DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Coastal Cabana, Versamark both from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Wisteria Wonder Ribbon (Retired), Gold Embossing Powder both from Stampin' Up, 1 3/4" Limitless Layers Circle Dies from Papertrey Ink, Gold Stickles

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

A few VSN cards

It was VSN or Virtual Stamp Night this weekend over on Splitcoast Stampers, which I totally forgot about. I didn't have much time to do many of the challenges, but I did what I could, combining them with other challenges where possible, but I only managed to get 5 done in the end. Oh well nevermind.

Challenge B was to make a card with some summer toys on it. I went straight for my kites (I actually haven't played with one of these properly since I was a kid, but we made some in school a while ago for our own Indian Kite festival and the kids loved it. Was such fun running around on a very windy day trying to fly a kite!). I combined it with A Passion for Papertrey's Circles Challenge and my fave new combo of the summer - turquoise, yellow and grey. Keep seeing combo this around a lot and I love the brightness of it.

Recipe:

Stamps: Background Basics: Medallions, Up, Up & Away, Up, Up & Away Sentiments all from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Lemon Tart, Hawaiian Shores both from Papertrey Ink, Whisper White

Inks: Lemon Tart, Hawaiian Shores both from Papertrey Ink, Smoky Slate from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Lemon Tart Grosgrain Ribbon, Double Ended Banner Die both from Papertrey Ink, Circles Nestabilities, Lacey Nestabilties, Dew Drops

Challenge C was to use splashes of ink with a summer theme, so I used my markers and my spritzer to make a rainbow of colours. We get lots of rainbows in the summer here in the UK, only because we get so much darn rain during the so-called summer LOL

Recipe:

Stamps: Happy Trails from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Island Indigo, Perfect Plum all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Basic Black, Stampin' Up Markers in Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Island Indigo, Perfect Plum, Blushing Bride all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: 3/4" Circle Punch, Spiral Punch (Retired) both from Stampin' Up, Happy Trails Die from Papertrey Ink, Speech Bubbles Dies from X-Cut

And Challenge D was to use red, white and blue, so I used my new Mosaic Madness stamp set and coordinating embossing folder to come up with this one.

Recipe:

Stamps: Mosaic Madness, Label Love both from Stampin' Up

Papers: Riding Hood Red, Marina Mist, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Riding Hood Red, Marina Mist, Night of Navy all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Mosaic Punch, Artisan Label Punch, Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Papertrey Ink's May Blog Hop

I haven't done a Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge for ages, for no other reason than I don't generally get much crafting time during the weekday evenings and if the bloghop day is during the week, then I don't have the time to play. But this month it's on a Saturday, so I get a chance to play! YAY!!!

This month Nichole gave us a selection of colour combos to choose from and I chose this gorgeous bright pink one.

I also used Make It Monday's Challenge #117 to use paper piecing, Papertake Weekly's Challenge also to use paper piecing, Viva La Verve's Sketch #4 for May and A Passion for Papertrey's Challenge to be inspired by nature. Outside the front of my school are absolutely tons of brightly coloured tulips, which look so pretty every time I walk past them, so they were my inspiration for this card.

And here it finally is.

Recipe:

Stamps: Think Big Favorites #12, Friendship Jar Spring Fillers both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Summer Sunrise, Ripe Avocado, Stampers Select White, 2008 & 2009 Bitty Dot Basics Patterned Papers, Pacific Vineyards Basics Patterned Papers, Raspberry Fizz Mix Basics Patterned Papers, Hibiscus Bursts Patterned Papers all  from Papertrey Ink

Inks: Hibiscus Burst (desperately need a new one as it's virtually run out!) from Papertrey Ink, Basic Black from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Large Scallop Border Die, Mega Gracious Vases Dies both from Papertrey Ink, Orange Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

2n + 3 = Thank You

Silly title, but as part of my masters course on mathematics that I have been doing this year, I have had to carry out some research and worked with a group of 9 gifted and talented learners aged 8-11, teaching them algebra. They were all fantastic and found it fairly easy to learn and progressed much more quickly than I expected. So as a little thank you to them all for being superstars I made them a card each and will buy them a little box of Celebrations chocolates as well for our last session this Tuesday.

I'm entering this one in A Passion for Papertrey's Stamp Your Own Background challenge.

And here's the set of them. Very quick and easy to do, but still a bright fun card! Now to write them all out!

Recipe:

Stamps: Star Prints from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Yellow, Turquoise and White from stash

Inks: Real red, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Seeing Stars dies from Papertrey Ink, Baker's Twine from Martha Stewart

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Celebrate with Viva La Verve!

This card is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #5 for April and for A Passion for Papertrey's Let's Celebrate Challenge. I pulled out my much loved Beautiful Blooms papers for this one. I just love these bright, bold colours (and for some reason they always remind me of Minnie Mouse - must be the red and white polka dots with the black!).

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Make A Wish Additions, Heart-2-Heart #5 both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Hawaiian Shores, Beautiful blooms Patterned Papers both from Papertrey Ink, Basic Black from Stampin' Up

Inks: Hawaiian Shores from Papertrey Ink, Real Red from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Hawaiian Shores Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Pure Poppy Buttons, Double Ended Banners Die all from Papertrey Ink, Circle Nestabilities, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug, Black Seam Binding from Crafty Ribbons

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Sending You Sunshine and Smiles

Another kind of CAS card for me - well ok there's lots of empty space, but maybe too many embellishments and things going on to be truly CAS. This card is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #206, F4A164 to use sunshine (I have sunflowers and sunshine in my sentiment), Make It Monday's Challenge #111 to use water-colouring with embossed images (I actually couldn't find my aqua painter anywhere, so used my blender pens with my inks instead and love how soft those sunflowers came out!) and finally for A Passion for Papertrey's Touchy Feely Challenge.  I know you can't see it in the photo but I used an impression plate on the vanilla background piece and my sunflowers are heat embossed as well.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: All About You, Signature Series: Flower, Simple Sunflower all from PTI

Papers: Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla all from SU

Inks: Versamark, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green all from SU

Accessories: Tin Types Impression Plate, Tag Sale #6 Die, Filigree Border Die all from PTI, Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Clear Embossing Powder from SU

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Mostly White Papertrey

Just a couple of mostly white cards I made this weekend. As you all know I don't do CAS cards very often nor very well, so these were both a struggle for me as I wanted to add more - more colour, more layers, more embellies, just more, more, more, but I do really like how they both came out even if they are not my usual style!

This first card is not one I especially enjoyed making because of the reason, but fitting all the same. Aimes, who runs the A Passion for Papertrey blog with Kate and Caryn has had some sad news recently so this card goes out to her! Sending Aimes lots of big hugs! This card is for A Passion for Papertrey's black and white challenge, Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use a bow and Viva La Verve's Sketch #5 for January. Not sure if you can see on the photo but I impressed the card front as well so it has a lovely soft texture to it.

Recipe:

Stamps: Over Under Easy, Think Big Favorites #3 both from PTI
Paper: Stampers Select White from PTI
Ink: Basic Black from SU
Accessories: Basic Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) from SU, Damask Designs Impression Plate from PTI

My next card is for Just Add Ink's Challenge #150 for the sketch and Play Date Café's Challenge #166 to use these gorgeous colours. I thought I would go with a little blackboard style using some of my new PTI stamps!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Signature Greetings, Over Under Easy both from PTI
Paper: Glorious Green (Retired), Basic Black, Whisper White all from SU
Ink: Versamark, Whisper White both from SU
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder both from SU, Labels 23 Nestabilities, Candy Ribbon Border Die from Memory Box

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Sharing Some Sketches on Sunday

I didn't get as much crafting time today as usual as I have been a naughty girl and had to attend a drivers awareness course all afternoon for getting caught speeding! Oops! Was the most boring 4 hours I have wasted in a long time!

Anyway on to my cards. This first one is for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #155 for the sketch and I used my new Fernanda Flamenco for this one - isn't she just gorgeous?! I totally love her dress, although it got a bit mind boggling working out where all the folds were supposed to go. I kind of just guessed in the end. I made this card for one of my TAs birthday's on Tuesday so I hope she likes it!

Recipe:

My next card is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #185 and I added the twist of tasty treats as well this time and for A Passion for Papertrey's Challenge to use numbers on a card. I generally don't do numbers on a card unless it's for a big birthday and I don't have any kids' birthdays coming up either, so just used my HB2U stamp instead to make this card for a teenage girl's birthday.

Recipe:

And my final card for today is for Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #227 for the sketch and ColourQ's Challenge #163 to use these lovely autumnal colours, although I did swap the white for vanilla as the DSP had vanilla in.

And here's my little card - these would be great for my up-coming workshop.

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!
