Amelia Curiosity

Heather Valentin is doing another Lacy Sunshine competition on her Facebook page and offered two different digis to choose from for it - I chose to embrace my dark side and went for Amelia from the Curiosities Collection. I love these digis but am never sure who I would send one to. I might just buy a few and make a few framed pictures with them for my room instead of doing cards.

Anyway this card is also for Sketch and Stash's Challenge #134 (My new stash is my digi stamp and my old is the patterned paper which  must be over 5 years old now as I got it before I became a SU demonstrator and I celebrated my 5th anniversary just before Christmas!) and for Scrapbook Stamp Society's Challenge #36 Anything Goes with the option of distressing, which fits perfectly with this image.

And here she is. Had to add this gorgeous corner die as an archway for a Gothic-y feel to it.

Fussy and Fancy Challenge #109 with Crafty Sentiments

It's time for another Fussy and Fancy Challenge and this fortnight we are celebrating birthdays!
Birthday Candles

We are sponsored this week by the fabulous Crafty Sentiments, who have generously donated this fabulous prize.....

3 digi stamps of your choice
for one very lucky winner
who enters this challenge!

Crafty Sentiments were also very generous to provide the DT with some images to use for this challenge and I chose to use Sweet Birthdays - such a cute little girl!

And here's my card. I went for a card in a box and added some extra birthday balloons and presents. Love this style of card - so effective and not too hard (unless like me you glue the inside on the outside and then have to cut all the panels off and start again when the card rips as you're trying to peel it apart!)

Shaylee the Fairy

As soon as I saw this gorgeous image by Art by MiRan I fell in love with her, but she scared me! She is such a pretty fairy and there's so much in this scene that I didn't think I would be able to colour her in very well and do her justice, but I jumped in with both feet today and gave it a go. I have signed up to Alyce Keegan's Skin and Hair colouring tutorials on her Kit and Clowder Ning site and watched a couple of videos before I started and I think that really helped. (Just have to print out all the homework sheets now and have a proper go at everything).

Anyway this card is for Kit and Clowder's March Challenge to use wings, for Art by MiRan's Facebook Challenge to use flowers and for The Ribbon Girl's March Card Challenge to make a birthday card.

My Bestie Went Shopping

This card is a bit of an odd one for me, mostly because I tried to combine too many challenges together and whilst it looks ok and I do quite like it, I feel it's missing something. This card is for Crafty Little Fairies Challenge Shopping, My Besties Aussie Challenge #7 to use pearls and bling (I used Liquid Pearls and Stickles Glitter Glue although my satin ribbon is quite shiny too!), A Creative Romance's Bingo Challenge (I used pearls (well Liquid Pearls), ribbon and twine) and for Sketchy Challenges #68 to use the sketch below.

I am trying to use up some of my old retired SU patterned paper packs and this is one set I have 2 packs of, so will be a while before I get through it all. To try and use up a bit more I made a bigger card than usual and went with a 5 x 7 inch card, but I didn't use very much of it! Anyway here it is...

Recipe:

Stamps: My Besties IMG162 from Sherri Baldy

Papers: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla, Everyday Enchantment DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Pretty Tin Can

Charisma Cardz Challenge #5 this week was to use something that is not meant to be used for crafting. I went for the easy option and recycled an old tin can from the recycling box and decorated it to make a new pen pot for my desk at work. I covered it with my favourite colours - pin and brown - added some pretty flowers and lots of butterflies and was done. A pretty quick make for me!

And here it is...

You Are A Star

This week's challenge #147 at The Paper Shelter was to  use animals, so I pulled out my cute Training my Dragon digi and combined it with Colour Me's Challenge #9, which I took a few liberties with by adding all the silver glitter card instead of using Smoky Slate so much, although there is a hint of that in the starry patterned paper on the left.

And here's my card. I got a thing for stars on this one so added loads more to it for some added bling!
