VSN Friday's Challenges

It's VSN this weekend over on SCS again and as you all know I love doing these challenges. I'm a hostess for Saturday's first challenge as well, which means I get to see all the challenges ahead of schedule and there are some fab ones coming up. Go check out the Virtual Stamp Night forum to see them all!

Anyway these are all the challenges for Friday night. Saturday's will be in another post.

Challenge AA is to use blue, grey and white with pink as an optional colour on a project and this is what I did! This one is also for this week's Inpsiring Inkin' Challenge #28 too.

Challenge A is to use the serigraph technique. Now I have never used this technique before so don't be too shocked by it. It uses the brayer which I'm still not very good at but I don't think you need to be for this technique. I used an old Mojo #64 for the layout and Stacey's Curtain Call #32 to use Regal Rose, Summer Sun, Whisper White, Apricot Appeal and Rose Red. What a gorgeous fruit salad combo this was!

Challenge B is to make a flower pot using textured flowers. I used 3 embossing folders on my card but love the look of it. This is the card with the insert in. I also used the colours from CC272, Real Red, Bermuda Bay and Kraft. I'm also entering it in the Just Us Girls Challenge #35 to use dry embossing.

And this is one with the insert out!

Challenge C is to use Kraft, So Saffron and Cameo Coral. I used Our Creative Corner's Sketch #17 for the layout. As you probably know Cameo Coral is a colour that I will definately not miss when the new colour renovation comes in in October. I just cannot work with it at all, but I really like how this card turned out. I think having some nice DSP helped as well though.

Challenge D is to use Versamark and/or the clear embossing technique on a project. I haven't used this technique for ages, yet it's so simple and effective. I also used an old colour combo, CC183 to use Riding Hood Red, Green Galore and Going Gray and an old Mojo Sketch #101 for this card.

Challenge E is to try something new, so I pulled out my new Elzybells stamps that haven't yet been put away! I used Color Throwdown's #94, to use Close To Cocoa, So Saffron, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango and Soft Sky and Mercy's Sketch #75 for the layout.

Challenge EE is to use animals and the colour green to make a baby card. I used Mojo #140 for my layout and CC33 to use Chocolate Chip, Blush Blossom and Certainly Celery for my colour combo.

The details for all my cards can be seen here in my Splitcoast Stampers gallery. Thought it would be easier than looking at loads of recipes on here.

That's all of Friday's challenges. Be sure to check on my post on Saturday's challenges too.
