Papertrey Ink Stamp-A-Faire 2011 Challenges #6 - 10

Carrying on with the challenges for Papertrey Ink's Stamp-A-Faire Day!

Challenge #6 was to use the little notch technique to hold twine or ribbon in place across the cover of your project. I just had to use my Botanical Silhouettes set at some point tonight and this sketch, old TECC24, was perfect! I also used old CC78 to use Old Olive, Vintage Violet (which I subbed with Perfect Plum) and Cranberry Crisp (which I swapped for Purely Pomegranate).

Recipe:

Stamps: Botanical Silhouettes, Tag Its #2

Papers: Old Olive, Purely Pomegranate (retired), Perfect Plum DSP (retired) all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Old Olive, Purely Pomegrante, Perfect Plum

Accessories: Old Olive Twill (retired), 3/4" Circle Punch both from SU

Challenge #7 was to have a "play date" with your stamps and discover 2 or 3 images from different sets that layer together in a surprising way, just like Betsy Veldman did for her make 'n' take! I took complete indpiration from Betsy's card and used the Mendhi Medallion with some leaves and flowers. The small stamp Mendhi Medallion fits perfectly in the centre of the Flower Fusion #5 stamp! I also used old TESC111 for my sketch.

Recipe:

Stamps: Mendhi Medallion, All About You, Flower Fusion #5, Banner Builder, Mega Mixed Messages all from PTI

Papers: Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Mellow Moss DSP (retired) all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, Mellow Moss all from SU

Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch from SU, Banner Builder Dies, Flower Fusion #5 die both from PTI

Challenge #8 was to create a card with an front cover that is cut back by an inch or so.  The extra lip invites you to add a sentiment, a strip of patterned paper, a bit of glitter, just so many opportunities! I only took off half an inch so I could add a row of tiny star on the inside and love how this one came out. I used old TESC84 for the sketch and old CC127 to use Blue Bayou, Sahara Sand and Chocolate Chip.

Recipe:

Stamps: Star Prints from PTI

Papers: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou DSP (retired) all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou

Accessories: Star Dies from PTI

Challenge # 9 was to look at your stamps in a new way, turn them, rotate them at new angles and see if YOU can come up with anything unique! I haven't seen this done before but it was inspired by PTI's new Tranquility Trilogy set. I used my triangle Banner stamps and made some patterned paper for this card! I also used old TESC95 for the sketch and CC62 to use Chocolate Chip, Close To Cocoa and Bashful Blue.

Recipe:

Stamps: Banner Builder, Big & Bold Wishes, Make A Wish Additions all from PTI

Papers: Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip both from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Bashful Blue, Close To Cocoa (retired) both from SU

Accessories: Sunshine Impression Plate from PTI, Thatre Ribbons (retired) from SU

And the final Challenge #10, which was finally uploaded yesterday, was to  add a stamped focal point over a stamped background, all in the same layer! Not sure if you can really see it in the photo but I stamped my background with Sheet Music first, but I stamped the ink off before I stamped on the card to give a lighter colour. This one also uses old TECC22 and CC117 to use Certainly Celery, Ruby Red and Elegant Eggplant.

Recipe:

Stamps: Background Basics: Sheet Music, Turning A New Leaf, Everyday Classics all from PTI

Papers: Ruby Red (retired), Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery, Ginger Blossom DSP all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Ruby Red (retired), Certainly Celery, Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake all from SU

Accessories: Fairytale Ribbons (retired), Oval Punches, Eyelet Border Punch all from SU

And that's all from me tonight folks! It's now am and I really need to go to bed! Thanks for stopping by! I had tons of fun doing all these challenges!
