I haven't managed to do one of Papertrey Ink's Blog Hops for a couple of months now as I keep missing the deadline, but I managed to get this one done last week.
The Challenge this month is: Since the blog hop will be taking place the day after Christmas, we thought we would hold to our traditional "Holiday Leftovers Challenge". Of course we aren't referring to food, but all of the wrapping paper, bows, ribbon, tags, canceled postage from holiday cards you have received, photos from holiday cards and anything else you might have laying around after the holiday preparations have ended. Your challenge is to use some type of leftover materials to create a project. And if you really want to challenge yourself even further, you can try to create a non-holiday card from your leftovers. We look forward to seeing what you come up with!
I had die cut loads of these snowflakes in various different colours to use on my gift tags but didn't use them so I thought I would add them to a quick and simple card that I needed to make for my ironing people. (yes yes I know! I don't bother doing any ironing - I haven't got the time to waste - I would much rather pay someone else to do it for me!). I'm also entering this one in Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #103 to make a winter/Christmas card.

And these are the gift tags I made for Make It Monday #46, but didn't get round to posting them. These were the ones I had originally cut the snowflakes for but they didn't look right so I swapped them for a doily die cut instead.

Thanks for looking and hope you all had a fab Christmas yesterday. I got lots of lovely new goodies, including some crafting ones, which was a shocker as my boyfriend hates buying me crafting stuff (he says it's a boring present despite the fact that I want it!). Right, I'm off to look at the other entries in the blog hop. Have fun!!!
lovely card great job
ReplyDeletewonderful snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteSoo pretty love seeing the soft browns. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBoth the card and your tags are fabulous and festive.
ReplyDeleteLove those snowflakes and lovely tags!
ReplyDeleteYour ironing people will LOVE the snowflakes! And good for you to have ironing people! CUTE tags, too!
ReplyDeleteYour card is so unusual in the warm brown tones-I really like the non-traditional take. The tags are terrific too! Interesting how we get a vision that simply doesn't work, but the same inspiration can take us to whole new projects. These look so pretty for the holidays. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove those snowflakes on the card. They look really great in all those shades of brown. Also, your tags are super, too.
ReplyDeleteI love your snow flakes and your challenge, it's so much fun cutting interesting colors and shapes for cards of any kind and it's saves you a couple of bucks at the card shop.
ReplyDeleteI gave my 11 year old daughter a simple Tracfone phone for Christmas and she has already stuck stickers, glitter and crystals all over it to beautify and personalize it sufficiently. I love the look.
Love the color scheme of your snowflake card--the flakes look great in those neutral shades.
ReplyDeleteLove the monochromatic color scheme. SO classy.
