Delicious Doodles Double

Good afternoon. My lovely friend Bettina let me know about the DT call over at Delicious Doodles and I thought I would give it a try out, so I purchased some of these gorgeous images and made two completely different cards for the DT call.

This first card uses the gorgeous Blossom and I thought I would go with my girly pink and aqua colour combo on this one.

And my second card called to my gothic side. I used Gothic Fairy on this one and lots of dark and creepy bits!

Both completely different, but I love them both!

Little bit about me: I am a primary school teacher here in the UK, living with my boyfriend of just over 20 years and our spoilt little cat Miss Tallulah Zazzles (Not my name pick!). I started card making about 10 years ago when I was hunting for something to do during the school summer holidays. I started off with a cheap set from eBay containing some Sizzix die cuts and card blanks. Oh those first cards were hideous, but that was probably the best £5 I have ever spent as it completely opened me up to a whole new creative side I didn't know I had.

I colour most of my images with Copics, but once in a blue moon do dig out my Distress Ink markers for a bit of watercolouring with them. I generally make cards, but have begun to dabble in mixed media a little bit, making some canvasses and other 3D projects.

These cards are also for
Fab 'n' Funky's Challenge #346 Fantasy (Entering Gothic Fairy only in this one)
Southern Girls Challenge #157 Show Us Your Favourite Colour Combo (The pink and aqua combo is one of my faves, although purple and black is my fave for Hallowe'en/darker themed cards too!)

Good Morning! I am currently on holiday for 2 weeks and as yet we haven't planned to go anywhere or do anything as my boyfriend hasn't got the time off from his work, but we might manage to grab a few days out. Instead I am doing a bit of crafting, getting ahead on my DT assignments and playing just for fun! This project was a just for fun one!

I had a hunt through my huge folders full of printed digis and found this gorgeous one, Amy from Sweet Escape Digis and just had to colour in that gorgeous mane of hair! It took me ages and it made my hand ache by the end, but it was worth it!

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post - Don't Laugh

Good afternoon everyone! As much as I love being on vacation from work, it completely messes my days up as I now have no idea what day it is! I can't believe it is Thursday already and we have done hardly anything this week. We went out for dinner on Tuesday and am going to somewhere else for dinner tonight. I have been swimming 4 times already this week and will go again in the morning. Love being able to find the time for an extra few swims!

Yesterday we spent the afternoon sorting out the mess that is our very small spare room, where all our clothes, shoes and other odds and ends live. I took photos of all my new shoes and my boyfriend asked the most ridiculous question I think any woman could hear: "Do you think you have enough shoes yet?!" I think the answer to that will always be the same: Never! Never ever ever! You can never have enough shoes! LOL

Anyway onto my card for Whimsy Stamps digital inspiration this week. I used the hilarious Don't Laugh and combined him with the Various Occasions Sentiments set and Green Envy Papers. I was feeling a little adventurous and attempted to colour the image as if he was in a living room so made a floral wallpaper - what do you think?!

This card is also for

Craft Box Project #1 for March Box

Good Morning everyone and welcome to my first project using the March Craft Box. The Craft Box this time was a little different and very open to interpretation for what to do with the goodies, so I decided to make a love/Valentines canvas to add my wall of canvases. I try to do each one in a different colour and now have a purple one, turquoise one, pink one and a red one. Might go for a neutral colour next time.

I used a mixture of goodies from the Craft Box and some from my own stash and an image from Faery Ink for this canvas. From the Craft Box I used the black and white patterned papers, "forever" Snipart, glass baubles, glitter squares, flowers, leaves, ribbon, heart charms and the resin frame, which I painted in black gesso and then with pearl stencil paste which is also from Craft Box.

This canvas is also for

Ching-Chou Kuik April Challenge Under The Sea

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new challenge from the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration and Challenge blog. This month our challenge is called Under The Sea, so we would love to see your sea themed projects. You can also include mermaids or sea animals which usually live under the sea, even if they are not under it in your image!

I used the gorgeous Lilies Commitment in my project and made a picture frame scene using a cheap plastic frame I bought ages ago from Poundland. Unfortunately the glass in it was broken when I dug it out this morning, but that worked in my favour a little bit as it meant I could have things sticking on to the image from frame itself.

The frame was originally white but I painted it with a layer of gesso to make it easier to add the paint, although I'm not really sure I needed it. I used Ice Blue Pearlescent paint and then added lots of shells from eBay and other goodies from an old Craft Box.

Although it didn't come out quite as I had imagined, I really love it and it is the first part to my new bathroom, which when we get round to decorating it, will have a mermaid theme to it (I do think I will need to add the glass in the frame then though to protect it from all the moisture, so will need to go and buy another frame to steal the glass out of!)

And here is a close up of my colouring...

The Paper Shelter Challenge #288 Make It Digital

Good Morning and welcome to a new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is to make it digital, so that means we want to see you using digital images, digital papers and anything else you have that is digital.

As The Paper Shelter has some fabulous digital images, I chose to use one of the new ones, Venus Flytrap. That cute little plant reminded me of Audrey II from The Little Shop of Horrors, so coloured it up in the same colours with her bright red lips!
