The Richness of Red

I never use to really like red, either for my cards or clothes, but lately I have been wearing a lot more red and using red more on my cards too. I suppose Christmas and Valentines helps with that too!

My first card is for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #163 to use something old and something new. My olds are several - my image was coloured in absolutely ages ago but never used, my ribbon is a few years old as well and the gold swirly papers I used on my lanterns is also a few years old. My new things are my Love Story papers from Echo Park which I bought just after Christmas but hadn't used and the greeting came from a new PTI stamp set that arrived on Monday! This card is also for Friday MashUp's Challenge #94 to make a Chinese New Year Card (oops I used a birthday greeting!) and to use the faux Chinese lantern technique, which I kind of did on my mini lanterns. Now I know sweet Sakura is probably meant to be Japanese, but I couldn't decide so thought she would work for this one.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sakura from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, Quilled Elegance from PTI

Papers: Real red, Basic Black both from SU, Copic X-Press It Smooth Blending Card,  Love Story Patterned Papers from Echo Park, Scrummy, Yummy papers from Craftwork Cards

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Ribbon from old stash, Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Edgers Dies #4 from PTI

My next card is for Mojo Monday's Challenge #277 for the sketch and Make It Monday's Challenge #101 to use Layered Embossing. Just had to use my new Quilled Elegance on this one - love this stamp set!

Recipe:

Stamps: Quilled Elegance, Fancy Flourishes both from PTI

Papers: Real Red, Whisper White, Crumb Cake all from SU

Ink: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Versamark all from SU

Accessories: Real Red Satin Ribbon (Retired), Whisper White Embossing Powder, Clear Embossing Powder, Neutrals Buttons all from SU, Brads from stash

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.
