These are the cards I did for some challenges this weekend that were not Stampin' Up only cards. I do tend to use SU cardstock as I love the quality and colours, but you just gotta use some other stamps sometimes! And with so many different companies out there that I love it's hard to say no sometimes...
My first card is for Sweet Stampin's challenge #45 for the sketch and for Stacey's Curtain Call #49 to use Real Red, Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla - lots of neutrals in there but they really do go well together. I got the instructions for these cute little roses from Cards magazine and all you do is punch out a circle and the cut a spiral into it. Roll the flower up, spread it out slightly and glue it onto another circle of card - easy peasy yet so pretty don't ya think?!
Recipe:
Stamps: En Francais from SU, Everyday Classics from PTI
Papers: Real Red, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, To The Nines DSP
Inks: Basic Black
Accessories: Real Red Satin Ribbon, Fancy Tags from Spellbinders, Labels 1 Nestabilities, Extra Large Bird Punch (for the leaves), Black pearls from Papermania, Scallop Circle Punch, Vanilla Cupcake Buttons from Elzybells
My next card is for Farm Fresh Friday's sketch challenge and Our Creative Corner's colour challenge to use Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Early Espresso. Another one with lots of neutrals so I made a boy's card this time.
Recipe:
Stamps: Edward from The Greeting Farm, Signature Greetings from PTI
Papers: Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Copics White
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Circle Nestabiities, ZigZag border punch from Martha Stewart, Ribbon from stash
My next one uses brown yet again! Lots of this going around at the minute LOL This one is for Just Magnolia's challenge #74 for the sketch and for SCS' CC17 to use Tempting Turquoise and Close To Cocoa. This is one of my new Tilda stamps and I have no idea what colours peonies come in, but I wanted a white and turquoise one - do they come in white?
Recipe:
Stamps: Tilda with Peony from Magnolia, Four Of A Kind from PTI
Papers: Close To Cocoa, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Copics White, Kaleidoscope DSP, Spiced Cider DSP
Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon, Prima Flowers, Mini brads from Papermania
My final card is for Splitcoast Stampers SC298 and CC289 to use Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze and Wild Wasabi. I wasn't overly keen on this color combo at first, but I quite like it now I've used it!
Recipe:
Stamps: In Bloom, Turning A New Leaf, Mega Mixed Messages all from PTI
Papers: Baja Breeze, Cajun Craze, Wild Wasabi, Stampers' Select White
Inks: Wild Wasabi, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Wild Wasabi ribbon, Oval Nestabilities, In Bloom Impression Plate
And my final project for today is not a card but a shoe! This one is for Stampin' Royalty's challenge #38 to make anything but a card. I saw these shoes on another challenge blog a few weeks ago and downloaded the template as I knew they would make perfect Hallowe'en gifts. This challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to test it out! And I LOVE it!!! It only took me about half an hour including all the cutting out so these are definitely going to be a quick and easy gift "shoe" to make. Just need some more glitter card now.
Recipe:
Stamps: Tiny Treats: Halloween from PTI
Papers: Purple Glitter card from stash, Whisper White, DSP from Sandylion
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon, Small and Large Tag Punches
And that's all for today folks! Thanks for stopping by.
