SUO cards

I have a Stampin Up workshop coming up at the beginning of October and thought I'd better make a few samples for the lovely ladies to look at, so I used the opportunity to do a few challenges as well this weekend.

This first card is for Mojo #157 and for Color Throwdown's #111 to use Melon Mambo, Pacific Point and River Rock - what a fab combo this turned out to be! As I don't have any buttons in those colours I made my own from 4 x 1/2" circles of cardstock glued together and then the holes pierced before covering with a layer of glossy accents.

Recipe:

Stamps: Circle Circus, Flower Accent, Dot Dot Dot, Occasional Greetings

Papers: Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, River Rock, Whisper White

Inks: Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, River Rock

Accessories: 1/2" circle punch, Extra Large Bird Punch (for the leaves), Eyelet Border Punch

My next card is for Just Add Ink's #34 for the layout and I didn't have a colour challenge this time for a change! I wanted to use some of the new DSP and colours. I didn't like the smaller flower in the stamp set, Ornate Flowers, that matches the DSP - they looked like fried eggs when I first did them, so I changed stamp sets and the Vintage Vogue flowers look so much better!

Recipe:

Stamps: Vintage Vogue, Something Sweet, So Swirly wheel

Papers: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala DSP

Inks: So Saffron (don't have the Daffodil Delight yet), Baja Breeze

Accessories: Daffodil Delight ribbon

My next one is for Splitcoast Stampers SC299 and CC08 to use Bashful Blue and Rose Red. There's not many color challenges left now that have current colours in that I haven't already done. I still have loads to do mind you, but they will have lots of retired colours in them - never mind I still enjoy doing them! Kept this one nice and simple for a change but I think something's missing!

Recipe:

Stamps: On A Pedestal, Curvy Verses

Papers: Bashful Blue, Rose Red, Very Vanilla

Inks: Bashful Blue, Rose Red, So Saffron marker

Accessories: None

My next one is a Hallowe'en one, but I really struggle to do anything other than this owl in the tree design as we have no Hallowe'en sets AT ALL in our new catalogue. That's 3 years now without any and I'm really annoyed about it! We have 2 Valentines, 1 Easter, 1 harvest, which I guess you could use the pumpkins from, but they are not really my kind of pumpkin stamps - too sketchy, a New Year's set and a trillion Christmas ones, but not a single Hallowe'en one - why?! So many of us demos have asked for one but yet again we have been ignored! I guess I'll have to use other companies or my American SU stuff for my Hallowe'en cards again this year! Rant over and this one is for Taylored Expressions sketch #129 and for Papertake Weekly's challenge to use animals.

Recipe:

Stamps: Forest Friends, Occasional Greetings, Baroque Border wheel

Papers: Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie DSP

Inks: Basic Black marker, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, 1/4" circle punch, Glossy Accents, Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch

My final card is another Christmas one - yikes! That's 2 now for the collection! I probably need about 50 or so to send out in total so I guess these will help eventually! This one is for Paper Pal Arts challenge #61. I have been following Mary Fish's blog for a while now - she does some fab cards and she is one of the DT members of this challenge blog, so I thought I'd give it a whirl! I'm also entering it in the Free For All Challenge #31 to use scallops.

Recipe:

Stamps: Season of Joy, Lovely As A Tree

Papers: Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Whisper White

Inks: Baja Breeze, Whisper White

Accessories: Scallop Trim Punch, Oval punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Whisper WHite satin ribbon, Corner Rounder Punch

And that's all folks! I did make a few non SU cards this weekend too and you can see them here if you want.
