I've done a ton of crafting today - as well as my usual challenge cards, I've been making some samples for next weekend's VSN! I'm hostessing a challenge at 9pm EST, which will be 2am our UK time! And next Saturday morning I'm being picked up 7:30 for a day trip to London to do a bit of shopping and then to watch Chicago at the West End. So a little nap on the coach will be in order me thinks!
Anyways.. my first card today is for Just Add Ink's #42 for the sketch and Paper Pal Arts #67 to use Daffodil delight, Basic Gray and Poppy Parade. Not my usual colour combo, but I do like how the dark grey makes the Poppy and Daffodil seem so much brighter.
Recipe:
Stamps: Style Beautiful from SU, Polka Dot Basics from PTI
Papers: Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Whisper White
Inks: Basic Gray, Poppy Parade marker and ink, Daffodil Delight marker
Accessories: Daffodil Delight satin ribbon, Beautiful Blooms Dies #2, 1/2" circle punch, Button and Pearls from Papermania
My next card is for Mojo #163 for the sketch and Stampin' Royalty's #44 to use Pear Pizzazz, Cajun craze, Marina Mist and So Saffron. I haven't warmed to Cajun Craze yet so every time I do a colour challenge with it in, I use it for my mounts, but I must force myself to try it in some other way and actually open that ink pad! I did get out my new spritzer tool and add some Cajun mist though for an aged kind of look to my image.
Recipe:
Stamps: Just Believe
Papers: Pear Pizzazz, Cajun Craze, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Retired DSP from SU (I don't know the name of this one as my friend Linda sent me some ages ago!)
Inks: SU markers in Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist, So Saffron, Cajun Craze
Accessories: Pear Pizzazz ribbon, Pearls from Lakeland, Labels 4 Nestabilities, Spritzer tool
My next card is for Just Us Girls #58 for the sketch, CC15 to use Barely Banana, Gable Green and Ballet Blue and for Our Creative Corner's theme challenge - An Attitude of Gratitude. It was Diwali yesterday and 2 of my TAs at school brought me some Diwali sweets in (and they were gorgeous, thank you Asha and Kiran!), so I'm using this card as a thank you to one of them (the other will get my next card!).
Recipe:
Stamps: Because I Care
Papers: Ballet Blue, Gable Green, Barely Banana, Whisper White
Inks: SU Markers in Ballet Blue and Gable Green
Accessories: Victorian Lace Die from PTI, Damask Embossing Folder from Crafts Too, Buttons and ribbon from stash, Diamond Stickles
My last flowery card is for Papertrey Peeps #19 to use the negative from a die cut or punch in a positive way. I used my die cut negatives to show the hidden flowers underneath! It's also for Papertrey Posse's petite challenge to use a die and for CC83 to use Cool Caribbean (which I subbed with Soft Sky), Regal Rose and Certainly Celery.
Recipe:
Stamps: Beautiful Blooms II, Mega Mixed Messages, Polka Dot Basics all from PTI
Papers: Regal Rose, Soft Sky, Whisper White
Inks: Certainly Celery, Soft Sky, Regal Rose
Accessories: Ribbon from Fairytale pack (retired), Beautiful Blooms Dies #1, Buttons from Papermania
And my final card is for Taylored Expressions Sketch #133, Farm Fresh Friday's challenge to use twine, Color Throwdown's #117 to use Crumb Cake, Tangerine Tango, Riding Hood Red and Marina Mist and for Papertake Weekly's A Penny for the Guy challenge to make a card for a man.
Recipe:
Stamps: Mega Mixed Messages from PTI, Oh Boy Ian from The Greeting Farm
Papers: Tangerine Tango, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Copics White, Washington Apple DSP (retired)
Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Cream Rustic Twine from PTI, 1/2" Circle Punch, Zig Zag Border Punch from Martha Stewart
And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping buy!
