On the 12 Blogs of Christmas...

Hello and Merry Christmas! You should have arrived here from Bekka's blog on the tour of the 12 Blogs of Christmas. This fabulous tour was set up by the lovely Carolynne to show lots of fantastic Christmas gift and card ideas using the Stampin' Up range of products.

I have 2 lovely projects to show you today. The first is a Countdown to Christmas calendar which I am going to use in my classroom with my class. My children always get really excited about Christmas. My school officially declares Christmas to start on December 1st and I know my kids will be counting down the days so as well as an advent calendar they will have this more prominent one!

Recipe:

Stamps: Just Perfect Alphabet, Schoolbook Serif Numbers

Papers: Garden Green textured cardstock, Real Red textured cardstock, Whisper White, Merry Moments DSP

Inks: Real Red

Accessories: 1 3/4" circle punch, Scallop Circle Punch

My next project uses the Simply Scrapping kit Christmas Jingle and some Real Red grograin ribbons.

These are the contents: 2 sheets each of 12x12 textured cardstock in Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, real red and Old Olive; 3 sheets of 2 different double sided patterned papers, 2 sheets each of 3 different self-adhesive die cuts.

I managed to make 13 A6 sized cards and a box to put them all in....

...11 3x3 ins cards and a little 4x4 in pizza box to put them in...

...and 10 gift tags!!!

This is the whole collection of the 36 items. This is such a fantastic scrapping kit that doesn't have to be used for scrapping at all.

And this is what I had leftover! 2 full sheets of DSP, just over 1 sheet of die-cuts and scrappy bits of cardstock. So I still have plenty of bits to make a few more cards, I just need to add the cardstock now.

I hope you've enjoyed looking at my projects and everyone else's on the blog hop. Thank you for visiting us all!

Now it's time to hop on over to Monica's blog and see what gorgeous projects she has come up with for you.

Inspiring Inkin' Challenge #15

This fortnight's challenge on Inspiring Inkin' is to make anything but a card! You can interpret this in any way you like, but the side twist is to make a Christmas gift.

Well my mum loves her birds so I made her a birdhouse. I'm sure you've seen plenty of these on the internet but I made my own so that they would fit the UK sized cards and envelopes.

This is the front/side view. The box is 3 ins wide and about 7 ins long and could easily fit in 10-15 cards and envelopes.

The box opens on one side of the roof and rather than close it with a long piece of ribbon I used a piece of velcro and it stays closed perfectly.

I did make some matching cards to go with it. Some I have CASED from the SCS gallery for this stamp set, but I kept the colours all the same palette and the main images are from the same stamp set too.

Recipe:

Stamps: Good Friend, Hello Again, Oval All

Papers: Close To Cocoa, Pink Passion, Yoyo Yellow, Green Galore, Whisper White

Inks: Close To Cocoa, Pink Passion, Yoyo Yellow, Green Galore

Accessories: Whisper White and Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbons (coloured with markers), Oval punch, Oval Scallop punch, Vintage brads, Scallop Edge Punch, 3/4" circle punch

So what Christmas gift are you going to make today? Don't forget to leave us a link so we can all see.

Inspiring Inkin' Challenge #14

This fortnight's challenge on the Inspiring Inkin' challenge blog is an inspiration one using this picture of a gorgeous chocolate wedding cake. This cake must have taken hours to make all those individual roses and I love the butterflies flying round on wires.

I used the colours and main images - roses and butterflies for my inspiration card. I chose to make a side step card - I love doing these as they are just something a little different. I stamped the base of the roses in Close to Cocoa and then the shading part in Chocolate Chip. The butterflies are stamped in So Saffron with chocolate patterns for the larger butterflies. Gold glitter from the Fine Galaxy Pack was added to each rose using the fabtastic new 2-way glue pen. It makes it so much easier to add glue just where you want it!

This is the side view - you can see the steps better this way.

Recipe:

Stamps: A Rose Is A Rose, Flight of the Butterfly

Papers: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, Very Vanilla

Inks: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron

Accessories: Gold glitter from the Fine Galaxy Glitters pack, Butterfly punch
