I have been hoarding these patterned papers from Maja Designs for years (and I do mean literally years!) and thought it was about time to use them! I kept the card fairly flat with just a few red gems and some strawberry die cuts so that the papers could be shown off a bit more!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #622 Embellish It

Good morning and welcome to my first post of the year for The Paper Shelter Challenge. We are now back after our long Christmas break, so I hope you will all be joining in our challenges again!

Our challenge this week is to embellish your card or project and that means you can add anything you like to embellish it! You could ribbon, twine, lace, pearls, gems, die cuts, buttons...the list is endless!

For my card, I have used the adorable Steampunk Girl and added lots of glittered die cuts to the card. I love adding a bit of sparkle to a steampunk themed card as steampunk can sometimes be quite dark and dull!

Something Else on Saturday #274 Featuring Peppermint Princess Emma from Paper Nest Dolls

Good morning everyone and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. I am trying so hard to get back into a blogging routine again, but it never quite seems to work out! Work is crazy busy at the minute with a lot more responsibilities this year, so lots of my weekend free time is now spent planning lessons instead of relaxing and crafting! 😞

Anyway this week's card uses the adorable Peppermint Princess Emma from Paper Nest Dolls and I went for a full on red and white combo (except for a touch of green in the sequins). I wasn't sure what frame to use with her and had this idea to do a shaker card, which I just loved! Shakers are so much fun!

And this is one of the card laying down so you can see the shaker pieces better!

The Paper Shelter Tribute Post

Good morning everyone adn welcome to my DT post for The Paper Shelter. This is a very hard post to write today. This week and next, rather than running our usual birthday Blog Hop, the Design Team at The Paper Shelter is honouring our beautiful co-founder Veronica, who tragically left us on the 25th of September 2024.

This lovely photo is of Veronica and her son.

Veronica was a kind, supportive, beautiful soul, who alongside her co-founder Pedro, produced the images we all know and love to create with. There is a vacuum in the world today, where Veronica used to be, and we will miss her terribly.

Just looking back through all my Paper Shelter cards, there are so many different fun and gorgeous images that I have used, but I just had to use my very first image, Angel, for my tribute card. I submitted a card to the DT call with this image and from that starting my journey here ten years ago.

I can't believe I have been on this design team for so long, but it is such a fun, caring team that these past 10 years have flown by. Veronica was definitely part of my reason for staying on the team and I will continue to honour her using the images her and Pedro created and coloured together.

And here is my card using the gorgeous Angel.

This card is also for

Heart's Quest Fantasy April Challenge & Something Else on Saturday #246 Featuring Lil Gnomie Gnaomi & Gnicholas

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for the Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge, which I have combined with my usual Something Else on Saturday post. The fantasy focus for the challenge this month is gnomes and with the new release from  Sweet November Stamps of all these cute gnomes, I just had to colour up a scene with them.

I used two of the new gnomes, Gnaomi and Gnicholas and paired them up with some background digis, which are no longer available as digis, just as clear stamps. Isn't this scene just adorable? The bridge and houses in the background worked so well with the gnomes out on their walk!

This card is for
As You Like It Challenge Cute or Floral (Definitely cute - flowers don't really hold a lot of interest for me to colour, but I do like adding them as embellishments to cards!)

Recipe:

Stamps: Lil Gnomie Gnaomi & Gnicholas, Background Builder: Day at the Park (digi version) & Background Builder: Autumn Cottages (digi version) all from Sweet November Stamps, Oh Gnome! from Lawn Fawn

Papers: Poppy Parade & Daffodil Delight both from Stampin' Up, Lovely Basics Patterned Papers from Craft Sensations, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Something Else on Saturday #236 Featuring Christmas Cupcake Mice from Di's Digi Stamps

Good morning and welcome to today's Something Else on Saturday post, featuring another cute Christmas digi stamp from Di's Digis! I never seem to have enough time to make as many Christmas cards as I want or need as I don't start making them until I have all my Hallowe'en cards and projects done, so tend not to start until November and then there's just not enough time. That's why I always end up making more in January, so I have a few spare ones ready!

Anyway this week's card features another cute mice themed image from Di's Digi Stamps and I went for a red and green combo again. I love this one!
