Something Else on Saturday #280 Featuring Hello Autumn from Alicia Bel

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. This week, I have another leaving card for yet another work colleague who is leaving just after half term (There's 4 in total this term with my partner teacher leaving at the end of Spring term!😞).

For this one, I used this gorgeous image from Alicia Bel as she is waving goodbye and seemed really appropriate! I love the colour combo on this one, but didn't place my letters for the Good Luck properly and there's not enough of a space between them!1 Oh well! Was too late to move them by the time I got to the end as they were well and truly stuck down!

All Things Magical and Mythical #73 Featuring Angel from Alicia Bel

Good morning and welcome to this week's All Things Magical and Mythical post. For today's card I am using the gorgeous digital stamp that I got from entering Alicia Bel's previous Facebook challenge to enter this month challenge, which is to use embossed paper. I don't use my embossing folders very often, not sure why not as I do like how they look, but tend to forget I even have a huge box full!

Anyway...here's my monochromatic card using the only sheet of Powder Pink patterned paper that I have which goes pretty well with the Petal Pink, which I hardly ever use as I find it's not pink enough and not peach enough, but a weird combo of the two!

This card is for

Something Else on Saturday #191 Featuring Birthday Elf from Alicia Bel

Good morning everyone and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. This week I have made a bridge card, which I have never done before. It was really easy to do except for lining up the scallops every time and getting that right! I think if I did it again, I would use a border punch instead!

And here's a view from the top so you can see the bridge part a bit better...

My 2021 Crafting Journey

Good morning! I can't believe we are now at the end of another year, another weird year to say the least! Life has definitely been more challenging again, but it feels a bit more "normal" if there is such a thing any more! I have been lucky so far in that I have completely avoided catching Covid, so fingers crossed it stays that way, although working in a school means the risks are slightly higher with the amount of children, parents and other adults I come in contact with on a daily basis.

Anyway I thought I would have a look back through all my projects throughout the year and choose my favourites for each month.

From January, I picked this one - the cover for my reading journal, which I have completely filled up! I actually ran out of room for some sections, so have made another one for next year with some extras pages in. This uses the gorgeous Beatrix The Bookwitch from Faery Ink.

From February, I have chosen this card featuring the adorable Gnome Set from Paper Nest Dolls. I love being able to combine different elements to create a scene, especially as my drawing skills are very questionable! I much prefer to colour something that someone else has drawn so it looks like what it is supposed to be! LOL

From March, I have picked my Aurora Be Fun Be You card using this gorgeous stamp from Stamp Anniething. I love this bright combo of yellow and turquoise and is one I return to time and time again!

For April, I have picked one of all time favourite card makes - this one to represent Disney's Ratatouille using a heap of stamp sets from Lawn Fawn. This one was definitely a labour of love as I actually stamped, colour and fussy cut by hand way more than I needed to, so actually still have lots of pieces left over!

From May's creations, I have chosen the card I made for my boyfriend's birthday using the fabulous Oddball Edgar from Stamping Bella. He loved Edgar Allen Poe and we now have a small "shrine" to him I guess you can call it - it has this card, the books of his stories and poems, the Edgar Funko Pop figure and the Bart Simpson Raven one too all together on a shelf. The Raven is one of my favourite poems too!

For June, I have chosen one of my Paper Shelter DT cards as my favourite, using another of my favourite colour combos - hot pink, black and white! This was also the month I took over from Marie as the DT Leader for Team B and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far!

From July's cards, I have picked this scenescape card using the adorable Cute As ABCs from Clearly Besotted. I love this card die and have used it a few times now, but need to use it more!

For August, I have chosen one of my guest designer cards for Sweet November Stamps. Amy asked me to join them for an early Hallowe'en release using these gorgeous Friday 13th Goth Dolls, which are just so me! I combined 3 of them in this card and had so much fun with them all.

For September, it was the return to school after the summer holidays! For this month, I have picked another DT card; this time from Stampers Delights, which I returned to back in May after Janice asked me if I would come back to the team. I am now one of her brand Ambassadors so have been doing loads of tutorials for different projects each month and this card was one for a mostly white card.

From October's cards, I have picked my shaker card using the adorable witch image from the Miss Anya All Year Kit from The Greeting Farm. I love this set as there are so many different images to use!

For November, once Hallowe'en was out of the way, it was Christmas card making time. I always make loads as I give loads out at work, to friends and family and my MIL always has a few too, so I need extra. For this month, I have picked this gorgeous Snow Faery card from Alicia Bel. I love doing Christmas cards in non-traditional colours and pink, white and silver is a fab combo for them!

And finally, December! I have chosen my DT card for Digi Doodle Studios, whose team I joined in November when I applied for the Dt call and was successful. I only recently discovered these images as a friend of mine is also on their DT, so was super excited to join the team!

If you have managed to get this far, thank you! I hope you have enjoyed seeing my favourites this year and would love to know which one was yours too! I am looking forward to seeing where 2022 takes me in my crafting journey - you never know I might actually get round to completing some of those classes I keep buying and signing up for, but never get round to doing!

Have a fabulous New Year and I hope 2022 is a great one for you all!

This week's card was created for the Alicia Bel challenge on Facebook with the theme of summer or holiday! I pulled out some of my stencils to create the beach scene and it was definitely a learning curve to get everything in the right place.

Alicia Bel's Little Little Mermaid

Good afternoon and welcome to another mermaid post from me for the Alicia Bel Facebook challenge. I'm not sure how well our team is doing in this challenge to be honest, but this will be my fourth entry!

I used the adorable Little Little Mermaid for this card and just had to colour her up like Ariel! I hardly ever do an Ariel mermaid and as this is very likely my last entry for this challenge, I just had to do it!

I'm still playing with my Distress Oxides inks for the background and bought 3 more ink pads this week, but I always end up covering most of it with the digi stamp or die cuts!

This card is also for

Recipe:

Alicia Bel's Smug Little Mermaid

Good evening everyone! I thought I would make another card for the team challenge over at Alicia's Bel's Facebook group today using some of the clay pieces I have moulded. I bought some coloured air dry clay from Amazon in one of those lightning deals, not really expecting it to be very good as it was fairly cheap, but it's not bad at all and dried really well and kept the shape and imprint of the moulds too.

I used the adorable Smug Little Mermaid for this card and made a cute scene with the clay pieces after cutting her and the crab out and using my distress oxide inks for my a background. I think I need more of these to be honest as 2 colours don't really give enough depth!

This card is also for

Recipe:

Stamps: Smug Little Mermaid from Alicia Bel

Papers: Tempting Turquoise & Whisper White both from Stampin' Up, Super Smooth Card from That Craft Place, Under The Sea Patterned Papers from Doodlebug

Inks: Copic Markers, Peacock Feathers Distress Ink, Salty Ocean Distress Oxide & Broken China Distress Oxide all from Tim Holtz

Accessories: Aquatic Mist Glitter Drops from Nuvo, Air Dry Clay & Moulds all from Amazon

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20, R30
Hair - RV21, RV23, RV25, RV29
Eyes - YG05, YG07, YG09

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to add my card to the challenge now and see what the next clue is!

Alicia Bel Dragon's Egg

Good morning and welcome to my second project for the Alicia Bel challenge on Facebook. I decided to use the adorable Dragon's Egg for this card as I love all things dragon and this image is definitely a cute one! Alicia Bel Happy Unicorn

Good morning! I am joining in this month with the challenge Animals and Fantastic Beasts in the Wornderful World of Alicia Bel Facebook group. I used to be on Alicia's DT a while ago and love her images, so thought I would join in for this team challenge. These challenges are different to the usual ones - you work as a team submitted projects using certain images and then Alicia sends clues for you to guess the secret image!

So anyway this is my first card using the adorable Happy Unicorn and I inked up some clouds for the background to make it look as if she was flying through them! A really quick and easy, yet pretty card!

Recipe:

Stamps: Happy Unicorn from Alicia Bel, Unicorn Sentiments from Stamping Bella

Papers: Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White & Lap of Luxury DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Super Smooth Card from That Craft Place

Alicia Bel Thank you and Goodbye

It is with a sad heart that I write this post. Today is the last post for the Alicia Bel Challenge blog. Alicia has decided to close the challenge blog after much deliberation. I have been on the DT since October last year and have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it.

For my final DT card (For now anyway. You never know what may happen in the future...) I used the cute Smug Little Mermaid. I thought this sentiment was quite fitting as well as I do hope to see Alicia Bel's challenges back soon in some shape or form. I know as a huge fan of Alicia's stamps, I will be using her images all the time!
