Scene It Sunday #165 featuring Polar Playtime from Avery Elle

Good morning and Happy Sunday! Welcome to today's Scene It Sunday post. I bought this cute stamp set last year to use for Christmas/Winter cards, but never got round to using it - I had stamped it, but hadn't coloured the cute penguins up or anything, so I was determined to use it this year! The Paper Shelter Challenge #574 Stencil It!

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is for you to use stencils somewhere on your project/card.

For my card I used the cute Swimming with Friends and used one of my stencils to draw round to create the waves in the background. I'm not great at drawing my own waves so using a stencil ensures that they actually do look like waves!

Recipe:

Stamps: Swimming With Friends from The Paper Shelter, Underwater Background Builder from Avery Elle

Papers: Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz & Merry Merlot (All Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty, Under The Sea Patterned Papers from Noor Design

Inks: Mango Melody (Retired) form Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Make Waves Stencil from My Favorite Things, Aquatic Mist & Blue Lagoon Glitter Drops from Nuvo, Waves Dies from eBay, Under The Sea Dies from First Edition

Copics Used:
Sea - B00, B01, B02, B04

All Things Magical and Mythical #81 Featuring Pegasus Duo from Avery Elle

Good morning and welcome to today's All Things Magical and Mythical post! Today I have used the gorgeous Avery Elle's Pegasus Duo stamp set which is yet another one I have had for ages but never used! While browsing through my Evernote lists of which frame dies to use for the base, I came across this Sizzix Fold A Long set, which is another unused die set! So I thought why not put them together and see what happens?!

After a bit of playing around and adapted the card to how I want the inside to look (and to hide that big slit that to me seems pointless!), I came up with this very glittery card!

And this is the card a little more open so you see the insides a bit more. There are no dies within the set to add to the inside for patterned paper or anything, so I had to draw round the middle part and cut it a bit smaller to get the patterned paper to fit! It's cute and a fun shape, but too plain without the extra layer on the inside!

Recipe:

Stamps: Pegasus Duo from Avery Elle

Papers: Petal Pink from Stampin' Up, A4 Pink Glitter Paper & A4 Metallics Glitter Paper both from Make & Create, The Sky Is The Limit Patterned Papers from Craft Sensations, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Inks: Blushing Bride from Stampin' Up, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Rainbow Fold A Long Dies from Sizzix

Copics Used:
Bodies - R0000, R000, R01
Hooves & Muzzles - R21, R22
Wings - R00, R11, R43
Manes & Tails - R30, R32, R35

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you all again soon! Hope you all have a sparkly day!

Digi Doodle Studios August Challenge - In or By The Sea

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from Digi Doodle Studios. This month our challenge is called By, At or Under The Sea, so we would love to see your projects showing things in or by the sea - think fish, sea creatures, mermaids, people fishing or in boats, people paddling in the sea or making sandcastles on the beach. The list is just endless!

For my card I used the adorable Misti Mermaid and attempted to make an underwater/inside a cave effect. I don't have any dies that could be described as cave like (despite how many I own!), so I used this stencil from My Favorite Things and then cut it out after inking it up before adding it to some grey card. I think it kind of works!

But now I know it works, I know how to use it for next time - draw round the stencil and cut out the middle bit! Then add the water behind the cut out! Don't know why I didn't think of that before, but you live and learn!

This card is for

Good morning and happy Sunday! I hope you have all had a good week. It's back to work tomorrow for me as schools are reopening so I wonder what new joys this next few days and weeks will bring! I doubt it will be much different from when we returned in September to be honest - I just hope the children have all been ok at home for the past two months!

Anyway...this week's Scene It Sunday card was a combination of two fabulous sets, made for each other - the Underwater Friends and Underwater Background Builder sets from Avery Elle. I have been waiting for a mermaid/underwater scene building set for my stamps that included some giant rocks for ages! Christmas Tree Delivery Day

Good Morning and welcome to another Christmas card post from me! Today our Christmas tree is being delivered (we have a real one every year as my BF doesn't like fake ones) and instead of going round a tree market to pick one, we have ordered one online.

This card is my idea of going to the tree market we used to go round, but the trees there were not as good as they used to be, which is why we now order from another company online. In a way I'm glad as it always took ages for my boyfriend to choose the "right" tree and was always freezing cold! But if we went to a tree market with this cute bear, I might change my mind about spending ages walking round them all LOL

The Paper Shelter 7th Anniversary Blog Hop

Good Morning and welcome to The Paper Shelter Blog Hop. This hop is in celebration of The Paper Shelter reaching their 7th Birthday on December 8th. This hop will be a two week Challenge and both Design Teams are taking part.

The Hop is our way of inviting you to join in with us and this one is a "BIRTHDAY/ CELEBRATIONS" theme, which I know is extremely popular!

If you have landed here from Patsy's blog then you're heading in the right direction - if not then you'll want to head on back to The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog to start again, as you'll not want to miss out on this one! Our Design Teams have worked very hard and are showcasing the gorgeous images available from The Paper Shelter website and each blog on the hop is offering one lucky commentator a digi of their choice as well as the main prize, details of which are on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog.

I decided to use the adorable Emily for my card. Love her sweet face! I have to say it made for a refreshing change making a non-Christmas card as I have been making those for weeks now in preparation for the big day. I have a few more to send out this year as I have moved jobs, so have my new work colleagues to send to as well as some of the old ones!

Recipe:
