Hearts Quest Fantasy Challenge #9 Anything Fantasy Goes & Something Else on Saturday #264

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for this month's challenge from Heart's Quest Fantasy Challenge Blog. This month, as always, our challenge is Anything Fantasy Goes, but the optional twist this time, is to include Pegasus or winged horse on your card.

For my card, I used this adorable Pegasus digi stamp from Faery Ink, but it might not be available any more as Amanda has changed her store around on Etsy. I have had this one for ages from when I was on her design team years ago!

I did print the image a bit too big to be honest, but it still kind of works! I went for a pastel pink and purple combo and then added some cloud border die cuts behind a frame for her to stand on!

Recipe:

Stamps: Unicorn Pegasus B from Faery Ink, Sparkle from Craftin' Desert Divas

Papers: Bubble Bath, Highland Heather, Whisper White & Dandy Designs Patterned Paper (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Hearts Quest Fantasy Challenge #3 & Something Else on Saturday #241 Featuring Tottie Leprechaun from Faery Ink

Good morning and welcome to today's post. Today is the start of this month's new challenge at the Hearts Quest Fantasy Challenge blog and this month's optional theme is to use a leprechaun on your card or project. I have to admit I very rarely use leprechauns, maybe because I don't actually make many good luck cards, but this old cutie from Faery Ink was just what I needed! So glad to have had her in my stack of digi stamp files!

I went for a traditional green and yellow colour combo on my leprechaun with gorgeous red hair and just love how she came out. Might use these colours again on a different image to see how I like them then!

All Things Magical and Mythical #108 Featuring Arielle Elfie Xmas Cane from Faery Ink

Good morning and welcome to today's All Things Magical and Mythical post. This week I have used an old digi stamp from Faery Ink. I just love this image and have used her a couple of times before - she's such a sweetie!

For my background papers, I used lots of scraps from the same paper pack, which was one of my favourites from Stampin' Up a few years back. I always wish I had bought more of it! All Things Magical and Mythical #67 Featuring Lahla Mermaid Lei from Faery Ink

Good morning and welcome to this week's All Things Magical and Mythical post. It feels like forever since I made a mermaid card (I'm sure it's not that long though!), so I pulled out this gorgeous mermaid from Faery Ink (aka as The Whimsical Art Witch now) which I had printed ages ago! I used my new Layering Diorama dies from Stampin' Up and couldn't decide if I preferred them to be rotating over the top of each other or with the same shaped edges lined up, but I like this look!

This week I have used the newly updated version of Amber and the Elegant Fowl from The Whimsical Art Witch formerly known as Faery Ink. My 2021 Crafting Journey

Good morning! I can't believe we are now at the end of another year, another weird year to say the least! Life has definitely been more challenging again, but it feels a bit more "normal" if there is such a thing any more! I have been lucky so far in that I have completely avoided catching Covid, so fingers crossed it stays that way, although working in a school means the risks are slightly higher with the amount of children, parents and other adults I come in contact with on a daily basis.

Anyway I thought I would have a look back through all my projects throughout the year and choose my favourites for each month.

From January, I picked this one - the cover for my reading journal, which I have completely filled up! I actually ran out of room for some sections, so have made another one for next year with some extras pages in. This uses the gorgeous Beatrix The Bookwitch from Faery Ink.

From February, I have chosen this card featuring the adorable Gnome Set from Paper Nest Dolls. I love being able to combine different elements to create a scene, especially as my drawing skills are very questionable! I much prefer to colour something that someone else has drawn so it looks like what it is supposed to be! LOL

From March, I have picked my Aurora Be Fun Be You card using this gorgeous stamp from Stamp Anniething. I love this bright combo of yellow and turquoise and is one I return to time and time again!

For April, I have picked one of all time favourite card makes - this one to represent Disney's Ratatouille using a heap of stamp sets from Lawn Fawn. This one was definitely a labour of love as I actually stamped, colour and fussy cut by hand way more than I needed to, so actually still have lots of pieces left over!

From May's creations, I have chosen the card I made for my boyfriend's birthday using the fabulous Oddball Edgar from Stamping Bella. He loved Edgar Allen Poe and we now have a small "shrine" to him I guess you can call it - it has this card, the books of his stories and poems, the Edgar Funko Pop figure and the Bart Simpson Raven one too all together on a shelf. The Raven is one of my favourite poems too!

For June, I have chosen one of my Paper Shelter DT cards as my favourite, using another of my favourite colour combos - hot pink, black and white! This was also the month I took over from Marie as the DT Leader for Team B and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far!

From July's cards, I have picked this scenescape card using the adorable Cute As ABCs from Clearly Besotted. I love this card die and have used it a few times now, but need to use it more!

For August, I have chosen one of my guest designer cards for Sweet November Stamps. Amy asked me to join them for an early Hallowe'en release using these gorgeous Friday 13th Goth Dolls, which are just so me! I combined 3 of them in this card and had so much fun with them all.

For September, it was the return to school after the summer holidays! For this month, I have picked another DT card; this time from Stampers Delights, which I returned to back in May after Janice asked me if I would come back to the team. I am now one of her brand Ambassadors so have been doing loads of tutorials for different projects each month and this card was one for a mostly white card.

From October's cards, I have picked my shaker card using the adorable witch image from the Miss Anya All Year Kit from The Greeting Farm. I love this set as there are so many different images to use!

For November, once Hallowe'en was out of the way, it was Christmas card making time. I always make loads as I give loads out at work, to friends and family and my MIL always has a few too, so I need extra. For this month, I have picked this gorgeous Snow Faery card from Alicia Bel. I love doing Christmas cards in non-traditional colours and pink, white and silver is a fab combo for them!

And finally, December! I have chosen my DT card for Digi Doodle Studios, whose team I joined in November when I applied for the Dt call and was successful. I only recently discovered these images as a friend of mine is also on their DT, so was super excited to join the team!

If you have managed to get this far, thank you! I hope you have enjoyed seeing my favourites this year and would love to know which one was yours too! I am looking forward to seeing where 2022 takes me in my crafting journey - you never know I might actually get round to completing some of those classes I keep buying and signing up for, but never get round to doing!

Have a fabulous New Year and I hope 2022 is a great one for you all!

Faery Ink Inspiration Post Featuring Cheery Gnome Shroom Blooms

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT Inspiration Post for Faery Ink's new releases for January 2021. Today I am sharing a card using the adorable Cheery Gnome Shroom Blooms. I absolutely love Amanda's gnomes and this one was calling out for some bright colours to cheer me up. I actually printed him a little too large so there wasn't much room left on the card base for many embellishments of layers of patterned papers, but I love how he came out!

Something Else on Saturday #86 Featuring Beatrix The Bookwitch from Faery Ink

Good Morning and Happy New Year to you all. I hope you had a fabulous New Year's celebration and we able to see in the New year with your loved ones!

I have done something a little different for today's Something Else post and decorate a reading journal that I have made. I am a huge reader and decided to make a reading journal to record all my 2021 reading in rather than just using Goodreads!

I couldn't find a journal exactly as I wanted it, unless I got one made for me by someone on etsy and paid a fortune for it, so I made it myself just using Word! I bought a cheapy notebook from eBay, took the ring binding off and added some book binding ring clips instead as the added sheets to the pages made it too thick otherwise.

I then decorated the front using this gorgeous image from Faery Ink, Beatrix the Bookwitch, and coloured her up using some of my favourite colour combos. I added the title using my Mama Elephant Whimsy Alphas dies and covered them with glitter to match the front cover as well. Overall it looks so sparkly! Definitely not going to lose this one!

And here are a few pictures of some of the pages inside - I have filled it all with the exception of 2 pages which I am going to add some more reading themed digi stamps to once I have coloured them all in! Each month has a quote page with a reading themed quote - this one is for June's section. My challenge this year is to read at least 90 books. I managed 92 in 2020, so want to try and beat that if I can!

12 Days of Christmas Countdown Day #11 Featuring Gnomie Homie Santa's List from Faery Ink

Good morning everyone and welcome to my penultimate post for the 12 Days of Christmas Countdown! I can't believe how quickly it has come around to Christmas, but I do say that every year because I am so totally unprepared for it EVERY year! I think being a teacher and this half term being incredibly busy every year means I don't really get into Christmas preparations until my actual holidays and this year was even worse as you can imagine!

Anyway...here's today's card using a Patreon image from Faery Ink - Gnomie Homie Santa's List. This is such a cute image and lucky me being part of the DT gets some of the Patreon images to use as well!

Faery Ink Inspiration Post Featuring Yule Stag

Good morning and welcome to my inspiration post for Faery Ink sharing one of the newly released images, Yule Stag.

And here's my version - I made a tag, mostly because I made a boo-boo with the image. I was going to fussy cut around him, so chopped it off the sheet at an angle and then realised that the moon was there so needed to colour the sky and couldn't cut it into a rectangle for a card! Luckily I needed a few more tags for my Christmas presents and this make a great sized one!

Recipe:

Stamps: Yule Stag from Faery Ink

Papers: Real Red & Garden Green both from Stampin' Up, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Inks: Copic Markers, Pearlescent Chalks from Pebbles Inc., Golden Star Gelly Roll Pen, Silver At You Spica Pen

Accessories: Real Red Gingham Ribbon, Very Vanilla Ribbon & Garden Green Ribbon (All retired) all from Stampin' Up, Fancy Floss from Sew Easy

Copics Used:

Something Else on Saturday #78 & Faery Ink Inspiration post Featuring Jingle Bells Elf Arielle

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post which also falls on the same day as my Faery Ink inspiration post, so I thought I would combine the two! This month's new releases from Faery Ink are all winter/Christmas themed ones and while I don't usually start my Christmas cards until Hallowe'en has finished, I really enjoyed making this one with all the snowflake die cuts and sparkles!

I love using non-traditional colours for my Christmas cards and pink, silver and white is probably my favourite combo, quickly followed by red, aqua and white! I still have most of this paper pack left that I bought a few years ago, so dug it back out and then added lots of my die cuts snowflakes. I couldn't decide whether to put any card or patterned paper behind the frame, but I kind of liked it without anything for a change!
