New Sale-A-Bration Stamps

It's Sale-A-Bration time from Stampin' Up at the minute, in which you can choose one of the free gifts for every £45 you spend. I placed an order last month and got myself some freebies and this card uses two of the stamp sets and a punch that are free during this offer, which runs until the end of March (I think!).

This card is for Color Throwdown's Challenge #282 to use this bright, fab colour combo.

And here's my card...

Recipe:

Stamps: See Ya Later, Petite Petals, Summer Silhouettes all from Stampin' Up

Papers: Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White, Sunny Garden DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Real Red, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Starburst Framelits, Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired), Petite Petal Punch all from Stampin' Up, Buttons from stash

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

New Colour Challenge Blog

My lovely friend Mynette invited me to look at the new colour challenge blog on the block, Colour Me...and I thought I'd have a go at entering their first challenge which is to use Island Indigo and any neutrals. I wanted to use my new Banner Blast stamp set (which is a freebie available from Sale-A-Bration at the end of January) and found this layout on Pinterest, but I jazzed it up a bit, but the layout is basically the same, so not my original idea, but I loved the layout!

And here my CASEd card...

Recipe:

Stamps: Banner Blast from Stampin' Up

Papers: Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Neutrals DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Island Indigo, Early Espresso both from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder, Neutrals Candy Dots, Finishing Touches Edgelits all from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Clockworks Birthday Flip Card

I bought this set of Thinlits to make a circle flip card for one of my Christmas cards and never used it, so thought I would have a go today and combined Charisma Cardz Challenge #1 for 2014 to make a birthday card with Color Throwdown's Challenge #273 to use this cool colour combo, which I thought I would be great colours for a guy card!

And here's my flip card closed... Had to do a lot of fussy cutting to get all my layers as I just cannot not have my mounts, but cutting circles freehand is so not my forte!

And open on the other side. I love this clockworks set, even though it is SO not me at all. Makes for some quick grungy cards and it doesn't matter if the images are all over the place, overlapped or not stamped properly at all. Messes with my OCD though!

Recipe:

Stamps: Clockworks, Happiest Birthday Wishes (Retired) both from Stampin' Up

Papers: Tempting Turquoise, Basic Gray, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Tempting Turquoise, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Circle Card Thinlits, Basic Gray Ribbon both from Stampin' Up, Brad from stash

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Time for Hot Chocolate and Gingerbread Men!

This week's challenge #190 at Just Add Ink is to add masking and Color Throwdown's Challenge #267 was to use this cool feeling colour combo. I had no clue what to do with it until I saw this stamp set and this idea instantly popped into my head. I tried to mask the gingerbread men and mug so it looks like the gingerbread men are carrying the mug between them LOL

And here's my card - just love these little gingerbread men!

Recipe:

Stamps: Scentsational Christmas (Retired), Merry Little Christmas both from Stampin' Up

Papers: Tempting Turquoise, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, Brights DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Crumb Cake all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Morning Meadow Posies

I completely took unintentional inspiration from Narelle Farrugia's card for this challenge from Just Add Ink's Challenge #189. Not meaning to at all but now I've looked back at the blog, it is kind of similar both in terms of layout and style - must be her gorgeous influence! I'm also entering this card into Scrapbook Stamp Society's Challenge #25 Anything Goes with the option of using Kraft. Well Crumb Cake is Stampin' Up's version of kraft cardstock, ink and ribbon so that's should fit the bill!

And here's it is...

Recipe:

Stamps: Morning Meadow, Express Yourself both from Stampin' Up

Papers: Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, In Colors 2012-14 DSP Stack, Perfect Plum Prints DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Raspberry Ripple, Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Regals Buttons (Retired), Whisper White Baker's Twine, Little Leaves Sizzlits Die all from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

A few more Hope You Can Cling To Challenges

I'm trying to catch up on all the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges, but it's not really happening for me. I keep getting sidetracked and making other cards!

This first card is for Challenge #8 It's A Cover Up in which you had to have a hidden greeting. I used my zipper die from Papertrey Ink where you have to pull back the tab to reveal the rest of the sentiment (It says "...a birthday as special as you are."). I also used the colours from Color Throwdown's Challenge #265 for this one, keeping it fairly plain so the sentiment part was the focus.

And here's my card...

Recipe:

Stamps: Daydreamer, Movers & Shakers Sentiments both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Crisp Cantaloupe, Not Quite Navy (Retired), Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, In Colors 2013-15 DSP STack all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Crisp Cantaloupe, Not Quite Navy (Retired), Pistachio Pudding all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Baked Brown Sugar Stretch Ruffled Trim from Stampin' Up, Movers & Shakers Zippers Die from Papertrey Ink, Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities, Filigree Corner Die from La-La Land Crafts, Glitter from stash

My next card is for HYCCT7, which was to use leaves on your card. I love these leaves in the Harvest Berries set form Papertrey Ink and thought they would make for a peaceful card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Harvest Berries from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Riding Hood Red (Retired), Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Riding Hood Red (Retired), Handsome Hunter (Retired) both from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Mat Stack 1 Dies from Papertrey Ink

And my final HYCCT card is for Challenge 15A to use the sunburst technique with patterned paper of cardstock. I decided to use up some old scraps to make a quick Christmas card.

Stamps: Perfect Punches (Retired) from Stampin' Up

Papers: Real Red, River Rock (Retired), Very Vanilla, Dashing DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Real Red, River Rock (Retired) both from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Scalloped Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch both from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're joining in these fabulous challenges for this very worthy card drive!

Funky Boots

I just love these funky witch's boots and just had to squeeze a Hallowe'en card in using them! this card is for ColourQ's Challenge #211 to use this fab bright combo and for Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use Halloween colours. I'm also entering it into Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #18 Put Your Brave Boots On to make a card with boots or shoes on.

And here it is. I used some scrap strips to make a stripy background of sorts, but actually quite like how it came out, even though it wasn't quite the way I pictured it!

Recipe:

Stamps: Bootiful Occasions from Stampin' Up

Papers: Lucky Limeade (Retired), Basic Black, Whisper White, In Colors 2011-13 DSP Stack (Retired), In Colors 2013-15 DSP Stack, Brights DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Basic Black, Lucky Limeade (Retired) both from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Window Frames Framelits, Basic Black Satin Ribbon (Retired) both from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Saturday Challenge #279

It's time for another Sketch Saturday Challenge and this week's it's challenge #279 and it's Lizy's design team week. Lizy is a Stampin' Up demonstrator and this is the prize she is sharing this week, which one lucky winner will be able to win.

And this is the sketch Lizy came up with...

And here's my take on it. I had to rotate it to fit my stamp, which is a new Stampin' Up one from the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue.

Recipe:

Stamps: Halloween Happiness from Stampin' Up

Papers: Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Whisper White, Witches Brew DSP all  from Stampin' Up

Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Sahara Sand, Garden Green Markers all from Stampin' Up

Hope You Can Cling To Oct 1st Challenges

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and for the fourth year running Splitcoast Stampers are running their Hope You Can Cling To card drive - a month full of fantastic card challenges, each one raising awareness of this very worthy cause. This year I have been asked to hostess a challenge, but mine's not until the 21st October, but I have been making a few cards for the other upcoming challenges too.

Today as it is the first day of the month and therefore first day of the challenges, there are 3 challenges. This first card is for HYCCT1A Inner Strength, in which we were asked to make a card where a dimensional image on the inside of your card can be seen through an opening in the front of your card. I jumped straight for some pink butterflies peeking through an opening!

Recipe:

Stamps: Flower Fusion #7, Polka Dot Basics II both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Pretty in Pink (Retired), Regal Rose (Retired), Pink Passion (Retired), Whisper White all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Regal Rose (Retired), Pink Passion (Retired)

Accessories: 6002/0258 Fancy Oval Dies from Joy Crafts, Double Ended Banner Dies from Papertrey Ink, Pipp Butterfly Die, Isabella Butterfly Die both from Memory Box, Ribbon from stash

For Challenge HYCCT1B we had to use either the colour red or orange and show courage or determination. I struggled with finding a stamp for this one which showed courage or determination (I probably do have one somewhere, but my mind was blank as to where!), so anyway I came up with an especially for you card instead, using Crisp Cantaloupe which is a shade of orange right?!

Recipe:

Stamps: Mosaic Madness, Made For You both from Stampin' Up

Papers: Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Mosaic Punch both from Stampin' Up

And my final card for today is for HYCCT1C, which was to make a flat one or two layered card. I really struggle with these kind of cards as I love my layers so I have to make it as busy as I can! I did have to add a bit of ribbon though but it's not too bulky!

Recipe:

Stamps: Think Big Favorites #15 from Papertrey Ink, Butterfly Flourish from Hobbycraft

Papers: Confetti White (Retired) from Stampin' Up

Inks: Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, So Saffron, Smoky Slate all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Strawberry Slush Stretch Ruffle Ribbon, Coastal Cabana Stretch Ruffle Ribbon both from Stampin' Up

I hope you find the time to join in this very worthy card drive (and there's lots of prizes to be won as well). All of the cards get sent to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas for the patients to send out to friends, family and anyone else. I always send a huge box of cards over (and yes I does cost a bit to post from the UK, but as it's all for charity I don't mind at all!).

Please check out the challenges throughout the month as well. I will be trying to post my cards on here as they go along.

Inkspirational Hallowe'en

Yep another Hallowe'en card and as I'm doing an inspiration table at the next Stampin' Up training day hosted by the lovely Monica and Bekka, you'll see quite a few more bits and pieces for Hallowe'en on here, so apologies if you get bored of it all! Anyway, this one is for Inkspirational's Challenge #38 which is a CASE inkspiration this week and this is the card to CASE - gorgeous isn't it?!

And here's mine with a Hallowe'en theme!

Recipe:

Stamps: Halloween Bash from Stampin' Up

Papers: Summer Starfruit, Basic Black, Whisper White, Witches Brew DSP all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Summer Starfruit, Basic Black both form Stampin' Up

Accessories: Oval Punch, Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch all from Stampin' Up (I could swear blind I had the decorative label punch - I know I have! - but could I find it when I needed it! Nope! Checked every drawer possible, but nowhere to be found. No idea what I've done with that!)

Anyway that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Hexagon Hallowe'en

Just a quick Hallowe'en card that I made today for Just Add Ink's Challenge #183 to use the fab sketch below. I used some of the patterned papers from the Witches Brew DSP pack from the Autumn-Winter Seasonal Catalogue along with the matching washi tape (which I had to stick onto Whisper White first to make it stand out more).

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: That's the Ticket from Stampin' Up

Papers: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White, Witches Brew DSP all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Summer Starfruit from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Bright Buttons, Hexagon Punch, Ticket Duo Punch all from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Jack's Happy Hallowe'en

Thought I would make a start on my Hallowe'en cards and used Inkspirational's Challenge #35 for the sketch for this one. I pulled out a lot of old retired SU stuff for this one as I still have heaps of it about!

And here's my card...Love all these Jack O'Lanterns! Shame this set is now retired. I did swap the sentiment circle round so my Jack O'Lanterns would fit on the card better!

Recipe:

Stamps: Jack of All Trades (Retired), That's The Ticket both from Stampin' Up

Papers: More Mustard (Retired), Basic Black, Whisper White, Creepy Crawly DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Basic Black, Perfect Plum, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Basic Black Polka Dot Scalloped Ribbon (Retired), Ticket Duo Punch both from Stampin' Up, Circle Nestabilities

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Amazing CAS

Not that I think this card is amazing, but for me to manage to do a CAS card as clean and simple as this is just amazing in itself. I really struggled not to add  more to it! This card is for the sketch from SC451 and ColourQ's Challenge #204. I really didn't know what to do with these colours other than more flower cards and I've kind of had enough of them at the minute, so went with this very simple sketch and a touch of reach colour!

And here's my very quick 5 minute card!

Recipe:

Stamps: Express Yourself, Summer Silhouettes both from Stampin' Up

Papers: Lucky Limeade (Retired), Concord Crush (Retired), Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, In Colors 2010-12 DSP Stack (Retired), In Colors 2011-13 DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Concord Crush (Retired), Bermuda Bay both from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder, Lucky Limeade Taffeta Ribbon (Retired) both from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

A Bright Thank You

As much as I love bright colours, sometimes I can get carried away with them, like I did on this card. On their own, each part looked fine, but once I had finished gluing everything together, I changed my mind about this card. I think the background paper is too busy and distracts from the main elements too much. I might see if I can dismantle it tomorrow and change that paper, but Mr Tombow is a very strong glue so I doubt I'll get anything off!

Anyhow...this card is for Inkspirational's Challenge #34 to use the card below to CASE. I basically took the layout of the card and the idea of the bird for mine. I combined it with the colour challenge CC440 from SCS this week, which is a fun, bright one!

And here it is... I ordered this set in my last SU order and completely forgot to order the matching punch - duh! Guess I need to make another order soon then :P

Recipe:

Stamps: Morning Meadow from Stampin' Up

Papers: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Quatrefancy Speciality DSP all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Island Indigo all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Curly Label Punch, Island Indigo Ribbon (Retired), Bird Punch all from Stampin' Up, Doily from Dovecraft, Gems from stash

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!
