Something Else on Saturday #206 Featuring Keep Fit Emma from Pink Gem Designs

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. Today I am sharing a card I made for my zumba instructor who left my gym last week. I have been doing her classes for over a year now and love them, but her last class was last Saturday. This was the card I made for all of us to sign, so it had to be a big 8 x 8 card.

Her hair didn't quite go right as it needed to be very dark brown and the second layer ended up going a bit sticky! Hate when that happens! But I think I can get away with it!

This gorgeous image is Autumn Rose the Yo-Yo Vamp and I asked Amanda if she would mind me adding some other digi stamps to her to create a scene and she was fine with it. I just love how it all came out, but boy did it take a while to colour!

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. Today I have a couple more end of school year cards to share with you that I made for the other two teachers in my year group.

This first one was for Ellie and she just loved this card using Rosie and Bernie in Hawaii. I also used the flowers from my Newton's Nook Aloha set that I shared last week and my beloved Palm Tree Dies. I wish I had bought the palm tree stamp to go with this image though as the size of these dies isn't quite right for the stamp.

Something Else on Saturday #12 Featuring Phoenix from Simply B Stamps

Good afternoon and welcome to today's Something Else on Saturday post. This week I'm on holiday (May half term holidays), but I'm not sure how much crafting time I will get this time as it's that dreaded time of year for all teachers - end of year report writing time! They take ages to do - about an hour per child on average - and this year I have ability groups for maths and English to write for as well! Then add on top of all that maths and English planning to do! Going to be a busy one, but I am going to try and get SOME crafty time in!

Anyway here's this week's card using the stunning Phoenix from Simply B Stamps for this month's progressive challenge. I went for traditional firey colours of red, orange and yellow, and used up some scraps of patterned papers that have long been retired from Stampin' Up.

This month we had a choice of image, Miss Antoinette which I chose or a zombiefied version of Mrs Antoinette. Simply B Stamps January Progressive Challenge

Good morning! Hope you're all feeling better than I have been these past few days. I'm recovering from a horrible head cold - stuffy nose, sore throat, headaches, neck ache etc etc. It all just makes my head feel so heavy!

Anyway while sat in bed, I had time to write up today's post, so I can share this month's progressive challenge from Simply B Stamps, using this gorgeous girl with her delicious looking cake and candy canes! Would be good for a birthday card too! The only rules we had this month was that we were not allowed to use any red, so I went for one of my favourite combos - pink and aqua! These papers match the colours I used on her perfectly!

This card is also for

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by and see you all soon!

Happy New Year!

Good morning! I usually do a favourites post of all my cards of the year on New Year's Eve, but I forgot this time! So here it is today instead!

I made quite a few changes with the design teams I was on last year. I felt I was spending so much time making projects for the design teams that I lost my mojo and my love of crafting a bit. At times, it felt a bit like a chore, but I have now dropped down to three teams and have more time to do more of my own crafting which makes me much happier! I get to use the images and make the cards in my own style, rather than having to be prescriptive so often!

Anyway...

Delicious Doodles was a small DT that I was on, but unfortunately the term didn't last for long as after 12 months, Teri, the owner of Delicious Doodles, decided to close the challenge blog down. My favourite card from being on this DT was actually my last card for this DT - a Gothic wedding card! You can read more about this card here.

Whimsy Stamps is one of my favourite companies for cute images and fabulous sentiments. I decided to step down from this DT in June as I had been on the DT for 1 year and 4 months and to be honest I was struggling to keep up with the weekly creations. At that time, I was teaching in a school with a very challenging class and a very challenging set of expectations and I was working all the hours I could to keep on top of my workload. (Luckily I have now left that school and moved on to much better things!).

My favourite card for this team was really hard to choose as I loved so many of them, but eventually decided to go with Fairy and her Bunny. You can read more about this card here.

Another team I stepped down from in June last year was the Ching-Chou Kuik Challenge blog team. I had been on this team for almost four years and I felt I needed a change. I love these images, but I felt lots of my cards were becoming the same old thing every time, so I stepped down with this gorgeous project using Aloha Lady. You can read more on my blog post here.

Polkadoodles was a DT I was only on for a very short amount of time. Although I love the images, I just felt the team wasn't for me, so left after my initial term of 3 months was up. My favourite card was this one using Frosty Penguins from the Octavia Frosted Winter Collection. You can read more on this post.

Faery Ink is one of the DTs that I have been on for a while now. Although the team kind of disbanded for a while, I stayed on and did a couple of projects a month for Amanda, while she was going through some personal stuff. The team started up again at the end of the summer and Amanda has released lots of fabulous new images. However, my very favourite was the Unicorn Masquerade collection that Amanda released in May and here was my project. you can read more about this project on my blog post here.

I started at Little Miss Muffet Stamps as a guest designer and when Lyn asked if I wanted to stay on, I went with a yes! I love these images and although it is back to a weekly project, I am now in a better position work wise and I have a lot more time on my hands. My favourite project for this DT was another hard one to choose as I love the Polka Dot Pals images and have used several of them this past year. In the end I decided to go with this card using the adorable Polka Dot Pals Maeve. There's more here on my original post.

And my final Design Team that I am on is The Paper Shelter. I have been on this team since March 2014 and I just all their images. This one was so hard to choose a favourite for - just glad I only had a year's worth of cards to look through! In the end, I decided to choose this one as my favourite because I was so pleased with the colouring on this one. I draw and coloured the background by myself, which for someone who cannot draw was a feat in itself. I was really proud of how this one came out! You can read more about it here.

The final favourite I am going to share with you all from my creations last year is from my Fantasy Friday posts that I have been doing since the summer. I decided to start these as I have a huge collection of fantasy images - fairies, mermaids, unicorns, dragons etc - and never had the opportunity to use them because of all the DTs I was on. Once I had left a few in the summer, I had the time to create using my own choice of images, which lead to doing these posts every week and believe it or not I have managed to keep it up! I wasn't sure I would!

Anyway this card uses Message In A Bottle from Simply B Stamps. You can read more on my original post here

Phew! If you have got to the end with all that, thank you so much! I hope you have enjoyed seeing all my favourites from the last year! I really enjoyed looking back at them all myself too and found some I had forgotten that I had made.

Fantasy Friday #6 Featuring Message In A Bottle by Simply B Stamps

Good morning and welcome to my latest Fantasy Friday post, where I share my love for all things fantasy and magical! This week I am sharing one of the gorgeous mermaids from Simply B Stamps, Message In A Bottle. I just love Betty's stamps and have heaps and heaps of them, so hopefully I will get round to using them a bit more now!

I used the stippling technique to create the sea with light rays peeking through - I love this technique, but boy does it take forever to do!

Good afternoon and welcome to my post for today! Anyway here's my card...it's not quite me and my bestie, but as close as I could make it. She's the thin, gorgeous one in purple and I'm the blonde, bigger one, although my hair is longer than that! I used our favourite colours, pink for me, purple for Michele and black for us both!

Simply B Stamps May Progressive Challenge - Mother Spring

Good Morning and welcome to my post. Today I am sharing a card I made for the Simply B Stamps progressive challenge for this month. I actually remembered to check the date this month as I forgot last month and didn't get to do it in time!

This month's image is called  Mother Spring and this month was an anything goes challenge. I coloured her in blue, gold and brown and then found these patterned papers which went really well with the colours in the image! Ching-Chou Kuik February 2018 Challenge - All You Need Is Love

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for this month's challenge from the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration and Challenge blog. This month our challenge is the seasonal All You need Is Love challenge so think valentine's, hearts, roses, romance etc.

I chose to use the gorgeous Red Hearts stamp from the Valentine Love Fairy Set. I went for a red and black combo initially and then decided that the sky couldn't be grey as well as it would all just blend into one if I did so chose to make a blue night sky and I think the image really pops against that blue. What you do think?

Stamps: Red Hearts from the Valentine Love Fairy Set from Ching-Chou Kuik, Valentine Vickie from Simply B Stamps

Accessories: Real Red Ribbon (Retired) & Basic Black Lace Trim both from Stampin' Up, Precious Hearts Dies form Memory Box, Xmas Red Stickles, Star Dust Stickles, Puzzle Pieces Dies from Whimsy Stamps
