Just a few mixed cards for you...
This first one is for Just Magnolia Challenge #109 - Friends, Magnolia-licious' Inspiration Challenge #7 and old Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #2. I used the colours from the inspiration photo and came up with plum, sage green, lemon and white. I love how this one turned out!

I hope mine counts as I cut out the faux teared strip, faux rick rack, the scalloped tag and faux buttons all from the same paper pack!
Recipe:

Accessories: 3D Gloss
And my final project for today is for CR84FN's Challenge #30 to use light blue, light yellow and kraft, for F4A6 to make an accordian card (I made an accordian mini photo album instead) and old Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #1 for the front of the album. This is the inspiration photo from CR84FN...
And this is the front of my album...
This is the inside of the album...
And this is the back of the album...

Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop
It's the 25th of the month, so that can only mean one thing ... the Papertrey Ink Monthly Blog Hop!
The challenge: May is the month when many flowers finally go into full bloom after a long winter's sleep. For the blog hop this month we want to see your favorite take on flowers. You can stamp backgrounds, create custom floral embellishments, showcase unique flower center additions (buttons, rhinestones, beads, etc...), flowers die-cut from different materials (like fabric, felt, vellum, etc...) or anything else you can dream up!
I used my first and one of my favourite flower sets, Spiral Bouquet and combined it with Mojo Challenge #192, Make It Monday's Challenge #16 to make a sympathy card and CC324 to use Baja Breeze, Soft Suede and Perfect Plum. I really don't like making sympathy cards - they're just not a happy occasion are they?! I thought these colours were soft enough yet still pretty enough to make a sympathy card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Spiral Bouquet, Butterfly Dreams, Embellishments all from PTI
Papers: Perfect Plum, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree DSP all from SU
Inks: Certainly Celery, Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze all from SU
Accessories: Soft Suede Ribbon (retired), Scallop Edge Punch both from SU, Circle Nestabilities, Pearls from Lakeland
And that's all from me today folks! Not like me to only do 1 card in a post :P Thanks for stopping by!

May VSN Challenges J - O
And these are the finally challenges from this month's VSN!
Challenge J was to show your treasure (i.e. bling)! I used Waltzing Mouse's Sketch Challenge #48 and old CC52J to use Orchid Opulence, Elegant Eggplant, Real Red, So Saffron and Bashful Blue. I don't have many Waltzing Mouse stamps, so had to use the cupcakes from Frame It, like a few other people did - love how it came out though!
Recipe:
Stamps: Frame It from Waltzing Mouse Stamps
Papers: Orchid Opulence (retired), Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White Sweet Pea DSP (retired) all from SU
Inks: Basic Black, Soft Suede, Real Red, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Elegant Eggplant, Orchid Opulence (retired) all from SU
Accessories: Modern Label Punch from SU, Baker's Twine, Ribbon from stash, Icicle Stickles
Challenge K was to use a map. the only map I have is the one in the Newsprint DSP pack - glad to have found a use for it! I also used Color Throwdown's Challenge #142 to use Basic Gray, basic Black and Lime Green! This was a very quick one!
Recipe:
Stamps: Enjoy The Ride from PTI
Papers: Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss (retired), Newsprint DSP all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss (retired) all from SU
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss ribbon (retied) from SU, Brad from stash, Double Ended Banner Die from PTI
Challenge L was to use a sponged background and to stamp an image. I think it meant to stamp an image within the background, which I didn't do as I didn't read the write up properly so here's my almost Challenge L card! This one is also for Farm Fresh Friday's Summer Lovin' Challenge and old CC52C to use Ruby Red, Summer Sun, Brocade Blue, Bordering Blue and Barely Banana.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rain, Snow or Shine from The Greeting Farm, Lily At The Beach from Pink Cat Studio
Papers: Summer Sun, Ruby Red (both retired) from SU, Copics White, Seaside Collection from Kaisercraft
Inks: Barely Banana, Summer Sun, Brocade Blue, Bordering Blue (all retired) all from SU, memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Clouds Die from PTI (used as a mask)
Challenge M was to use alcohol in either inks or markers. I used my copics, but in a very unadventurous way. I did start by using my blender pen to make dots on some flowers, but it was virtually bone dry when I started and by the time it finally gave up I had 3 petals left and I couldn't do anything with them, so I scrapped that idea. I used a blue one to colour in some clear gems instead - boring but time was running out! this one is also for old Mojo Sketch Challenge #129 and Colour Create's Challenge #71 to use white, cream, brown with an optional extra of another colour.
Recipe:
Stamps: Asian Fusion from PTI, Growing Green from SU
Papers: Baja Breeze, Creamy Caramel (retired) both from SU, Linen Closet DSP from DCWV, Copics White
Inks: Baja Breeze from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon from SU, Gems from Hobbycraft
Challenge N was to use the spotlighting technique and I vowed not to use my usual go to set for this technique - Fresh Cuts! I also used CR84FN's Colour Challenge #29 to use plum, light plum and kraft, old Mojo Challenge #91 (but I missed a panel out and by the time I realised it was too late -e verything was stuck down!) and Make It Monday's Challenge #15 to use reinkers and mist sprays!
I didn't use mine exactly as it was shown on the video as I don't have a misting bottle I could have used or any Perfect Pearls or any PTI reinkers either. I came up with another solution though - spray some Smooch Spritz on to your Stamp-A-Ma-Jig sheet, add a few drops of SU reinker and some water. Mix together well and use to paint on some white cardstock - I now have shimmery coloured cardstock!
This is CR84FN's colour swatch as well!
And here's my card:
Recipe:
Stamps: Text Boxed, Signature Greetings both from PTI
Papers: Pale Plum (retired), Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake both from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Pale Plum and reinker (retired), Perfect Plum and reinker both from SU
Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Oval Nestabilities, Kraft Tafetta Ribbon (retired) from SU, Card Candy from Craftworks Cards, Smooch Spritz Vanilla Shimmer
And the final challenge of VSN was Challenge O which was to use something found on the ocean floor. Again I was very limited on my choice of stamps for this one, so I used my good old favourite, Fintastic!
Recipe:
Stamps: Fintastic from SU
Papers: Apricot Appeal, Gable Green, Rainbow Sherbet DSP (all retired) all from SU, Copics White
Inks: Tempting Turquoise from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Apricot Appeal Ribbon (retired) , Eyelet Border Punch both from SU
And that's all my VSN cards done! I managed every challenge this time!

May VSN Challenges Kids - I
More VSN Challenge Cards for you...
The Kids Challenge is not one I normally do as it's for kids, but I liked this one so thought I would whip up a few thank you cards for the customers at my workshop last week. You had to use a food image so I pulled out my Tart & Tangy set for these ones. They were so quick and easy and all 6 cards and envelopes only took 24 minutes! Would have been quicker if I didn't have to use my markers everytime!
Recipe:
Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Thank You Kindly both from SU
Papers: Love Notes from SU
Inks: Pear Pizzazz ink & marker, Real Red ink & marker
Accessories: None
Challenge F was to use a square card, bright colours and a bird. I did make 2 cards for this challenge only because on the first one I forgot to make it a square so had to do another! Duh!!! This one is also for old Mojo 110 and old CC113 to use Taken With Teal, Cool Caribbean (I subbed it for Soft Sky) and Marigold Morning ( subbed with Summer Sun).
Recipe:
Stamps: Notably Ornate from SU
Papers: Summer Sun, Soft Sky, Sweet Pea DSP, Pink Flamingo DSP (all retired), Whisper White all from SU
Inks: Soft Sky, Taken With Teal marker, Summer Sun marker (all retired) all from SU
Accessories: Soft Sky ribbon (retired) from SU, Card Candy from Craftworks Cards
Challenge G was to use the cracked glass technique. Me and cracked glass do not get along at all - I just can't ever get it to look the way I want. Not sure if it's because I'm using normal embossing powder instead of UTEE or what, but I hate the way it looks and this one just didn't look right at all, but I didn't have time to do anything else with it, so here it is for now! I also used Just Magnolia's Challenge #107 for the sketch and old CC69 to use Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Not Quite Navy and Gable Green.
Recipe:
Stamps: Ribbon Hair Tilda from Magnolia
Papers: Not Quite Navy, Gable Green, Rainbow Sherbet DSP (both retired) all from SU, Copics White
Inks: Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Oval Nestabilities, Clear Embossing Powder from SU, Ribbon from stash
Challenge H was to case a card from one of your favorite stampers and to add some bling. One of my stamping idols is Mona Pendelton - I just love her vintage style. It seems to come so naturally to her, yet I really struggle with it. I CASED this card of hers from the SCS gallery. And I so need to learn how to do a decent double bow - this just doesn't look right, despite following the instructions I found on the internet!
Recipe:
Stamps: Delightful Doilies, Big & Bold Wishes, Background Basics: Twinkle all from PTI
Papers: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake both from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Basic Black all from SU
Accessories: Delightful Doilies Die, Doily Details Die both from PTI, Kraft Tafetta Ribbon (retired) from SU, Gems from Hobbycraft, Button, fabric, embroidery thread all from stash, Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, Argyle Embossing Folder
Challenge I was to make a tough, but girly card for all those pirate wenches out there! This one is also for A Passion for Papertrey's Challenge to be inspired by a song. As soon as I read the write up for this challenge, I knew which song I wanted - Heaven is a Halfpipe by OPM - this is the You Tube for their video! I LOVE this song!
Recipe:
Stamps: Grunge Me, Boy Basics: Skater Dude both from PTI
Papers: Raspberry Fizz, Stampers Select White both from PTI, Basic Black from SU
Inks: Raspberry Fizz from PTI, Basic Black, Basic Gray both from SU
Accessories: Skateboard Die, Raspberry Fizz Ribbon both from PTI
That's all for this post folks! Thanks for looking!

May VSN Challenges A - E
It's Virtual Stamp Night over on Splitcoast Stampers again this weekend (bad timing really though as we picked our kitten up on Friday and all I want to do is play with her, but I have been crafting whilst she's been asleep). There were 5 challenges on Friday night, which I did on Saturday morning/afternoon as they start at 11pm our time and I was just too shattered to start crafting at that time of night :P
Challenge A was to use aqua, light green and kraft. This card is also for Papertake Weekly's Bloom and Grow challenge to use flowers and Mojo #191 for the sketch.
Recipe:
Stamps: Friends Til The End from PTI
Papers: Aqua Mist, Stampers Select White both from PTI, Pear Pizzazz, Bella Bleu DSP (retired) both from SU
Inks: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz both from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Aqua Mist Grosgrsan Ribbon, Linen Impressions Plate both from PTI, Card Candy from Craftworks Cards
Challenge B was to hide something, so I made a flower pot card with a hidden greeting inside! I used the colours from Totally Hues #7 to use Sweet Blush, Lemon Tart, Berry Sorbet and Spring Moss - I did have to add some Creamy Caramel for my pot though! This is the flower pot with the message hidden...
And this is the message revealed...
Recipe:
Stamps: Flower Garden Sentiments from PTI
Papers: Creamy Caramel (retired) from SU, Spring Moss, Lemon Tart, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush, Stampers Select White all from PTI
Inks: Creamy Caramel (retired) from SU, Berry Sorbet from PTI
Accessories: Beautiful Blooms Dies #1, Delightful Dahlias Dies, Berry Sorbet Buttons, Lemon Tart Buttons, Sweet Blush Buttons, Linen Impressions Plate all from PTI, Lemon Yellow Bakers Twine from the Ribbon Reel, SCallop Trim Border Punch from SU
Challenge C was to use 3 R's on a project. I kind of cheated a bit and used the colour names for my cardstock/ink as part of my Rs! (I did have ribbon and roses as well though!) I also used SC333 and CC323 to use Rich Razzleberry, Regal Rose and Very Vanilla.
Recipe:
Stamps: Bella Blossoms from SU, Mega Mixed Messages from PTI
Papers: Regal Rose, Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry cs and DSP from Brights stack
Inks: Regal Rose, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Accessories: Fairytale Ribbons (retired) from SU
Challenge D was to make a criss-cross card. I haven't done one of these for absolutely ages! This one is also for Just Add Ink's Challenge #68 to use Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum and White and for Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #72 to use birds.
Recipe:
Stamps: Little Bitty Bird, Signature Series: Dressform both from PTI
Papers: Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum DSP (retired) all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Pear Pizzazz from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Baja Breeze Ribbon (retired), Scallop Trim Border Punch both from SU
Challenge E was to use boat or beach images. I'm really limited on these so decided to use my Surfer Ian and do the Farm Fresh Summer Challenge as well. I used the colours from Play Date Cafe's Challenge #82 to use mid brown, light blue and yellow and Viva La Verve's Sketch #4 for May. I made the whole card up before I dug out my stamps. I couldn't find Surfer Ian anywhere! You know why?! Coz I don't actually have him - I have Skateboarder Ian instead! I was so convinced I had him, so had to drop the FFF challenge and use my Sporty Billy stamps instead!
Recipe:
Stamps: Sporty Billy, Lily At The Beach both from Pink Cat Studio
Papers: Soft Suede, Bashful Blue, So Saffron DSP (retired), Elegant Soiree DSP all from SU
Inks: Bashful Blue, Soft Suede both from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Photo Corners Punch from SU, Oval Nestabilities, Cloud dies (used as a mask), Double Ended Banner Die, Rick Rack XL Die all from PTI
And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Sharing on a Sunday
Just a few more cards from today's crafting time!
This first one is for Make It Monday's #13 which was to use a die and impression folder together to give a gap in the impression pattern. I used my In blooms impressions plate which is a gorgeous all over pattern. this is also for CR84FN27 which was to use bright pink, grey and cream. This is the colour inspiration piccy...
And here's a closer view of the embossing.
Recipe:
Stamps: Fillable Frames #1 and #10, In Bloom all from PTI

Inks: Hibiscus Burst from PTI, Basic Gray from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Cream Seam Binding Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, Oval Punches, Heat n Stick Powder, Dazzlin' Diamonds all from SU, Hibiscus Burst Buttons from PTI
My next one is for Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #47 and CC321 which was to use Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler. I wanted to make a doily-esque card, but haven't got the doily stamps from WMS yet as they were out of stock when I went to order them the other day, so I used a mixed combination of WMS stamps that I do have and came up with this! I quite like it - what do you think?
Recipe:
Stamps: Faux Fun Circles, Victorian Frippery, Fancy Phrases, Say It With Style all from Waltzing Mouse Stamps
Papers: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White all from SU
Inks: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler all from SU
Accessories: Gems from papermania, Ribbon from stash
My next one is for Farm Fresh Friday's Throwback Challenge which was to use an old stamp - I pulled out my fave, Rockstar Anya! I also used SC327 for the sketch and Play Date Cafe's Challenge #80. I couldn't quite decide if the orangey-yellow colour was orange, yellow or what so I went with More Mustard, a kind of mix of both colours and I love how this one came out.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rockstar Anya from The Greeting Farm, Rock On from PTI
Papers: More Mustard, Early Espresso, Poppy Parade DSP all from SU, Copics White
Inks: More Mustard, Poppy Parade, Early Espresso all from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Gold Brads from stash
And my final card for today is for Free For All #63 to use a pocket on a card. I need to send a little note to a SU customer and thought this pocket style card was perfect!

Stamps: Just Believe from SU

Inks: Pear Pizzazz, Real Red both from SU
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Top Note Die both from SU
And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!
Doilies and dimension?
I had a doily and embossing thing going today. I have a ton of paper doilies I bought cheap from eBay and need to use them before I can justify getting the PTI Parisian doily die. I wasn't sure if I would actually use it, but I do like the layer these doilies have given my cards today.
My first one is for A Passion For Papertrey's sketch challenge, Papertake Weekly Anything Goes Challenge with an optional extra of using a circle and for My Time Made Easy's Pretty Palette #7 to use pink, light grey and burgundy. This was a gorgeous colour combo!
Recipe:
Stamps: Think Big Favorites #2 from PTI
Papers: Scarlet Jewel, Stampers Select White, 2009 Bitty Dot Basics all from PTI, Going Gray (retired) from SU
Inks: Scarlet Jewel, Hibiscus Burst both from PTI
Accessories: Scarlet Jewel Felt, Hibiscus Burst Felt, Beautiful Blooms Dies #3, Doily Details Die, 1 3/4" Circle Die all from PTI, Ribbon from American Crafts, Buttons from Papermania, Doily from eBay
My next doily card is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #1 for May and for Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #70 to use Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry and Pacific Point.
Recipe:
Stamps: Dream Big, Beautiful Kindness both from Verve
Papers: Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Rich Razzleberry DSP from Brights Stack all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Pacific Point, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi all from SU
Accessories: Doily from eBay, Victorian Fleur Embossing Folder from Papermania, Wild Wasabi ribbon (retired), Sweet Buttons Embosslit both from SU, Frosted Lace Stickles
My next card doesn't use a doily, but I added a bit of dimension using an embossing folder. This is for Mojo Monday's Challenge #189 for the sketch and Color Throwdown's Challenge #140 to use Early Espresso, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze and Kraft - what a gorgeous combo this is! I decided to emboss my DSP with an ink folder and accidentally embossed the wrong side of my Baja Breeze DSP. I actually much preferred this side and the pattern just subtly shows through the ink.
Recipe:
Stamps: En Francais from SU, All About You, Just The Ticket both from PTI
Papers: Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Bella Bleu DSP (retired), Baja Breeze DSP (retired) all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Blushing Bride all from SU
Accessories: Fancy Flower Border Punch from EK Success, Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Pearls from Hobbycraft, Early Espresso Ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder both from SU, Ticket Border Die, Double Ended Banner Die both from PTI
And my final card for today is for Just Add Ink's Challenge #67 for the sketch and for Paper Pal Arts Challenge #92 to use Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait and Poppy Parade. I loved the embedded embossing technique I did on this card here a couple of weeks ago so did it again and love how it came out!
Recipe:
Stamps: Asian Fusion from PTI
Papers: Pear Pizzazz, Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait cs and DSP from the hostess pack all from SU
Inks: Poppy Parade, SU markers in Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade all from SU
Accessories: Pear Pizzazz ribbon, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Boho Blossoms Punch, Bird Punch, 1/2" circle punch all from SU, gems from stash

Recipe:
