I completely forgot to blog these cards yesterday as I started making my 40 swaps for the Stampin' Up training I'm attending on July 10th! I've got so much going on in the next 3 weeks I thought I'd better get started as early as possible!
This first card is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #4 for June and old CC119 to use Real Red, Barely Banana and Creamy Caramel. An odd combination I thought initially but I love how it came out!
Recipe:
Stamps: Flutterby Friend, Think Big Favorites #1, Big & Bold Wishes, Mat Stack 1 Collection all from PTI
Papers: Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel, Real Red DSP from hostess pack (all retired) from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel (both retired), Real Red all from SU
Accessories: Caramel Gingham Ribbon (retired) from SU, Red Felt from Hobbycraft, Button from stash, Frilly Squares #1 dies from Go Kreate, Forever Friends Embossing Folder
My next one is for Waltzing Mouse's Sketch Challenge #53 and old CC91 to use More Mustard, Sage Shadow and Cranberry Crisp which I subbed with Purely Pomegranate as I have no Cranberry! I just can't stop making these cute medallions with my Victorian Frippery set now! I will get the doilies stamps soon from WMS, but I'll have to wait for pay day on Thursday!
Recipe:
Stamps: Victorian Frippery, Say It With Style both from Waltzing Mouse Stamps
Papers: More Mustard, Purely Pomegranate (retired), Whisper White all from SU
Inks: Purely Pomegranate, Sage Shadow (both retired), More Mustard all from SU
Accessories: Purely Pomegranate ribbon (retired) from SU, Double Ended Banner Die from PTI
And my final card for today is for SC338 and CC45 to use Night of Navy, Handsome Hunter and Blush Blossom. I really didn't think I would like this one as Handsome Hunter was one of my least favourite colours from the old SU colours. However, I do quite like it, even if my Blush tulips are more peachy than Blush!
Recipe:
Stamps: Friendship Jar, friendship Jar Spring Fillers both from PTI
Papers: Handsome Hunter, Blush Blossom, Night of Navy DSP from hostess pack all retired from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Handsome Hunter (retired), Night of Navy both from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Pearls from eBay (coloured with Copics), Night of Navy ribbon (retired) from SU
And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!
Papertrey Ink's June Blog Hop
It's 25th of the month and that can only mean one thing! It's Papertrey Ink's monthly blog hop.
This month was a different challenge. We were to take inspiration from the following photograph.
I love the rainbow coloured wall so used that as my background, using some of Papertrey Ink's fab colours. The stripes did look a bit bland initially so I used 6 different impressions plates to jazz them up a bit! The white squares represent the storage cubes in the bottom right of the picture and I used the dragonflies on the wall with the glittery clothes as their wing colours.
Recipe:
Stamps: Wishing You... from PTI
Papers: Stampers Select White, Kraft, Aqua Mist, Scarlet Jewel, Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry, Sweet Blush, Spring Moss all from PTI
Inks: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Regal Rose all from SU
Accessories: Beautiful Bloom Dies #2, Harvest Gold Felt, Pure Poppy Buttons, Sunhine, Tin Types, Polka Dot Basics II, Linen & Canvas and Diamonds Impression Plates all from PTI, White embroidery thread from stash
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoy this month's blog hop!

Blues and greens...
I completely stepped out of my usual colour palette of pinks and purples today and used lots of green and blue (although there are a few touches of pink).
This first card is way more CAS than I'm usually comfortable with doing, but I like it! Not sure if you can tell in the photo or not, but the white layer is impressed with the linen plate from PTI. This one is for Just Add Ink's Challenge #73 for the sketch and for Papertake Weekly's Here Comes The Sun Challenge. Nothing says summer more to me than eating fresh watermelons whilst sunbathing in the back garden!
Recipe:
Stamps: Fruit Fusion Melon from PTI
Papers: Melon Berry, Simply Chartreuse, Stampers Select White, Fruitti Tutti Patterned Paper all from PTI
Inks: Kiwi Kiss, Groovy Guava (both retired) from SU
Accessories: Melon Die, Melon Berry Ribbon, Simply Chartreuse Button, Linen & Canvas Impression Plate all from PTI, Scallop Edge Punch from SU
My next card is for Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge #20 to use the reverse masking technique (I masked the flowers to add the gingham background to their centres), Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #77 for the sketch and Color Throwdown's Challenge #147 to use Sage Shadow, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and Blushing Bride.
Recipe:
Stamps: Beautiful Blooms II, Around & About Sentiments, Background Basics: Gingham all from PTI
Papers: Sage Shadow (retired), Cherry Cobbler both from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Sage Shadow (retired), Cherry Cobbler, Blushing Bride, Basic Black all from SU
Accessories: Black Gingham Ribbon (retired) from SU, Beautiful Blooms Dies #2, Victorian Lace Border Die both from PTI
My next two cards are more masculine ones, both similar colour schemes, yet both very different. This one is for a multitude of challenges: Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #141 for the sketch, Paper Pal Arts Challenge #99 to use stars, CC328 to use Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake, F4A70 to use stripes and Farm Fresh Friday's 4th of July Challenge! We obviously don't celebrate the 4th of July over here in the UK, so I made a general celebrate card, but I'm dedicating this to all my American friends. Hope they have a great day on the 4th!
Recipe:
Stamps: Simple Circles, Everyday Classics, Fillable Frames Additions #1 all from PTI, Edward from The Greeting Farm
Papers: Cherry Cobbler cs & DSP from Regals Stack, Crumb Cake all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler both from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Night of Navy Ribbon from SU, Buttons from Papermania
And my final card for this post is for Mojo Sketch #196 and Play Date Café's Challenge #87 to use slate blue, barn red and grey. This is the colour swatch for Play Date Café's Challenge.
And here's my take on it.
Recipe:
Stamps: Background Basics: Chevron Stripes, Everyday Classics, Boy Basics: Rock On all from PTI
Papers: Bordering Blue, Ruby Red (both retired) from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Bordering Blue, Ruby Red (both retired), Basic Gray all from SU

Sharing on a Sunday
Just a few more I did this weekend...
This first one is for Mojo Monday Challenge #195 for the sketch, Color Throwdown's Challenge #146 to use daffodil, tangerine and kiwi and for A Passion For Papertrey's It's Elementary Challenge. I took a very loose view of this challenge and used butterflies as they fly in the air!

Papers: Daffodil Delight, Kiwi Kiss (retired), Haiku DSP (retired), Sunny Garden DSP all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Kiwi Kiss (retired), Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black all from SU
Accessories: Tangerine Tango Ribbon (retired), Scallop Edge Punch both from SU, Circle Nestabilities, Buttons from Papermania
My next one is for Viva La Verve's Sketch Challenge #3 for June, Farm Fresh Friday's Get Sentimental Challenge to use sentiments, Just Add Ink's Challenge #72 to just add some colouring in, Colour Create's Challenge #73 to use blue, grey and white and Papertake Weekly's Challenge Dads & Lads!
Recipe:
Stamps: Flirty Edward and sentiment both from Roll Call 1 from The Greeting Farm

Inks: Not Quite Navy from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Ribbon from Stash, Circle Nestabilities, Wavy Border Punch from EK Success, Distressing Tool from SU
My next one is a theme I hate making - a sympathy card. My great uncle died on Tuesday and this is for his family. I did use a couple of challenges for it and thought this colour scheme from CC327 was quite calming. This is also for Free For All #69 to CASE a cyber friend's card. I used this card, by my lovely friend Amy, with whom I started doing a challenge blog for our Stampin' Up team a while back (we no longer do it though!) and we have kept in touch ever since.
Recipe:
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics II, Botanical Silhouettes both from PTI
Papers: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Bella Rose DSP (retired), Bali Breeze DSP (retired) all from SU
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive both from SU
Accessories: Fun Flower Die, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Scallop Trim Border Punch all from SU, Button from Elzybells
My last card for this weekend is a re-do! Last weekend I did the challenge for Taylored Expressions Sketch #140 all wrong! I didn't take much notice of the size of the card and used a normal A6 sized card, when it should have been a DL sized one, so I redid it this weekend. Using the colours from CR84FN32, I ended up making a card virtually the same LOL You can't actually see in the photo but I did stamp on the flowers, but the ink doesn't show up very well on the same colour card!
This is CR84FN's inspiration picture...
And here's my take on it...
Recipe:
Stamps: Beautiful Blooms II, Botanical Silhouettes (can't stop using this set this weekend) both from PTI
Papers: Yoyo Yellow, Mellow Moss Soft Sky DSP (all retired) from SU
Inks: Yoyo Yellow, Mellow Moss (both retired), Basic Gray all from SU
Accessories: Mellow Moss Ribbon (retired), Sweet Buttons Embosslit from SU, Beautiful Blooms Dies #3 from PTI, Buttons from Stash

Pink Cards
Just a few pink cards I made this weekend...
This first one is for SC337 for the sketch, Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #76 to be inspired by the photos. I used the doilies and the colour scheme of pink, white and grey. This is also for Make It Monday's Challenge #19 to use the Rock 'n' Roll technique.

Accessories: Hibiscus Burst Ribbon from PTI, Basic Gray Button from SU, Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Fancy Flower Punch from EK Success
My next card is for Play Date Café's Challenge #86 to use hollyhock (a bright pink), orange and sky blue. I really wasn't sure about this combo at first but I loved it once it all came together. It's also for Waltzing Mouse's Sketch Challenge #52 which was to choose an old sketch, so I chose #10 which I hadn't done before.
This is Play Date Café's bright and funky picture...
And here's my take on these colours...

Papers: Soft Sky (retired), Regal Rose, Whisper White, Sweet Always DSP (retired) all from SU

My last pinky card is for Just Magnolia's Challenge #111 to use paper piecing, Magnolia-licious' Colour Challenge #8 to use the photo of a pink and grey telephone as inspiration and for Paper Pal Arts' Challenge #98 for the sketch.

A few blues...
The other cards I did this weekend all have blue in...
My first one is for Just Magnolia's Challenge #111 for the sketch and Totally Tilda's Challenge #24 to use red, white and blue. I just bought this Tilda stamp and think it is really cute, so just had to use it for a little thank you card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Strawberry Yummy Tilda from Magnolia, Cupcake Collection from PTI
Papers: Cherry Cobbler, Bashful Blue, Jolly Holiday DSP all from SU, Copics White, Strawberry DSP from Magnolia
Inks: Cherry Cobbler from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon from SU, Roses from eBay, Lace from Cuddy Buddly, Oval Nestabilities
My next one is a father's day card with a difference. Our little kitten is now 12 weeks old and I thought it might be quite cute to make a Father's Day card for my boyfriend from her as a little joke! This one is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #2 for June, Free For All #68 to use some of your neglected stamps (I think I last inked this set up at Christmas) and for Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #75 Let's Celebrate Dad.
Recipe:
Stamps: Cat Plate 1 from Pink Cat Studio, Paw Prints Wheel from SU, Tag It #2 from PTI
Papers: Marina Mist cs and DSP from Subtles Stack, Basic Gray cs and DSP from Neutrals Stack all from SU, Copics White
Inks: Not Quite Navy from SU, Memento tuxedo Black, Copics
Accessories: Labels 4 Nestabilities, Marina Mist Ribbon from SU, Medium Scallop Border Die from PTI
And my final card for today is for Color Throwndown's Challenge #145 to use Baja Breeze, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz, Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #140 (I was very liberal with this sketch though) and Paper Pal Arts Challenge #97 to show your signature style. I guess my style is layers of colour with some patterned paper and usually some ribbon, so I think this card covers that one.
Recipe:
Stamps: Calendar Basics, Beautiful Blooms II both from PTI
Papers: Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree DSP all from SU
Inks: Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron both from SU
Accessories: Beautiful Blooms Dies #1 from PTI, So Saffron Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Sweet Buttons Embosslits from SU

More CAS than usual
I generally don't do CAS (Clean and Simple) cards as I love my layers and embellishments, but I did a few this weekend. What do you think?
My first one is for Make It Monday's Challenge #18 to use tissue paper to create texture, SC336 for the sketch and CC326 to use Melon Mambo (I used Raspberry Fizz from PTI instead), Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette.
Recipe:
Stamps: Think Big Favorites #1 from PTI
Papers: Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose both from SU, Raspberry Fizz Mix Patterned Papers from PTI, White tissue paper
Inks: Regal Rose from SU
Accessories: Beautiful Wings Embosslits from SU, Raspberry Fizz Button from PTI
My next one is for Mojo Monday Challenge #194, Just Add Ink's Challenge #71 to use black and white and Papertake Weekly's Anything Goes Challenge with the optional extra of using white and one other colour.
Recipe:
Stamps: Fancy Flourishes, Delightful Doilies, Think Big Favorites #4 all from PTI
Papers: Stampers Select White from PTI, Basic Black, Groom DSP (retired) both from SU
Inks: Basic Black from SU
Accessories: Beautiful Blooms Dies #2 from PTI, Ribbon from Stash, 1" circle punch from SU, Felt and Pearls from Hobbycraft
And my final CAS card is for Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #51 and old CC09 to use Ruby Red and Sage Shadow. This one, despite being so simple, took me forever as I just couldn't decide what flowers to do and the first ones were all too big, then the leaves were also too big and I had to cut everything out again!
Recipe:
Stamps: Say It With Style, Holiday Labels #14 both from Waltzing Mouse Stamps, Background Basics: Twinkle from PTI
Papers: Ruby Red cs and DSP from retired hostess pack, Sage Shadow (both retired), Very Vanilla all from SU
Inks: Ruby Red, Sage Shadow both retired from SU
Accessories: Beautiful Blooms Dies #3, Delightful Dahlias dies both from PTI, Ruby Red Buttons (retired), Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon both from SU, Labels 14 Nestabilities
And that's all from this post folks. Thanks for stopping by!

Sharing Some PTI On A Sunday
Just a few more cards I did this weekend all of which used stamps from the fabby Papertrey Ink...
This first one is for A Passion for Papetrey's Recipe Challenge to use 3 colours, 2 buttons and 1 piece of ribbon, for Paper Pal Arts Challenge # 96 to make a masculine card using Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard and Night of Navy, for Mojo Monday's Challenge #193 for the sketch and for Free For All #33 to use computers on a card. I guess a gaming controllor counts!
Recipe:
Stamps: Boy Basics: Game On from PTI
Papers: More Mustard cs & DSP (from retired hostess pack), Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler DSP from Regals Stack all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard both from SU
Accessories: Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, More Mustard Button (retired) both from SU
My next card is another masculine one using Make It Monday's Challenge #17 to use the cracked glass technique. As you might know from my poor attempt during VSN to use this technique, I don;t do well with it, but I persevered. One lady on SCS said to use 6 or 7 layers of embossing powder (I don;thave any UTEE as I know I won't use it). I did 7 layers then put the stanmped panel into the fridge for about 30 minutes and it worked so much better this time! I also used the colours from Colour Create's Challenge #72 to use purple, blue and silver and SC335 for the sketch.
Recipe:
Stamps: Grunge Me, Boy Basics: Rock On both from PTI
Papers: Concord Crush cs & DSP from hostess pack, Marina Mist DSP from Subtles pack both from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI, Silver cs from stash, After Five Collection Patterned Papers from Kaisercraft
Inks: Concord Crush, Marina Mist both from SU, Versamark, Chamomile Distress Ink from PTI
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder from SU
My last card for today is for Just Add Ink's Challenge #70 for the sketch and CC325 to use Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight.
Recipe:
Stamps: Women of Life, Butterfly Dreams, Embellishments all from PTI
Papers: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Sunny Garden DSP all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

And my final project for today is something I made a couple of weeks back for the PGCE student (trainee teacher) that I had in my classroom as part of her leaving present. It's a little stationery set with a notepad, post-it note holder, bookmarks, highlighters, scissors, pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, sharpener, paperclip pot and ESR box (Emergency Stress Relief) filled with choccies. The paperclip pot and ESR box are not shown here but they are all decorated the same way. This is for Free For All #67 to make anything but a card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Teacher's Apple from PTI
Papers: Real red, Old Olive, Summer PIcnic DSP (retired) all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI
Inks: Real Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black all from SU
Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Coasters, Real Red and Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbons (both retired) from SU
And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Inks: Old Olive, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight all from SU
