Wishing Stella

Yes another fairy stamp today! It wasn't until I was uploading all my posts that I actually noticed I had used a fairy on all three of my cards today. Obviously needed some fairy magic sending my way! LOL

This last card of the day is for Art by MiRan's Challenge #7 Anything Goes and for Color Throwdown's Challenge #294 to use this gorgeous colour combo below.

Faery Fae Smiles

Tiddly Inks are one of my newer stamp discoveries and I have fallen in love with their cute little girly images, especially these Faery Fae ones! Anyway this card is for Tiddly Inks Challenge #134 to use pastels, Creative Inspirations Challenge #267 to use a tag and for Sketch 'n' Stash's Challenge #140 to use the sketch below. My old stash is the patterned paper and ribbon which I think I must have had since about 2007! (I did have to do a google search to find out when it was out as the blue (Soft Sky) was an In Color then, not a regular colour.)

And here's my card...Isn't she a cutie?!

Recipe:

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Rose Fairy

I am really starting to like these Aurora Wings digis and they don't scare me as much as they did at first, now I've done a couple. I think it's because they are very busy and you just need to separate each part out before jumping in to colour them, although I think I have coloured some leaves in pinky-purple by mistake today!

Anyway this card is for Aurora Wings Challenge #3 to use butterflies, Papertake Weekly's Sketch Challenge #90 to use the sketch below and for In The Pink's Challenge #45 to make a shabby chic card.

And here she is. The flowers look a bit purple in the photo, but are a little more pink in reality - more of a dusky pinky-purple.

Recipe:

Stamps: Rose Fairy from Aurora Wings, Flower Fusion #6 from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Blushing Bride, Soft Suede both from Stampin' Up, Carpe Diem Patterned Papers from Glitz, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Blushing Bride from Stampin' Up, Tea Dye, Walnut Stain Distress Inks from Tim Holtz, Copic Markers

Accessories: Blushing Bride Ribbon from Stampin' Up, Pearls from stash, Die-Namics Double Scallop Border Die from MFT, Filigree Corner Die from La-La Land Crafts, Tab 2 Die from Crafty Sentiments, Butterflies Dies LIT-111ABC from Kreaxions

Sketch Saturday Challenge #312 with Little Miss Muffet Stamps

Good Saturday morning to you all! Are you ready for a new Sketch Saturday challenge?

We have a new sponsor this week too...

The Challenge Prize this week is a very generous $25.00 gift certificate to the Little Miss Muffet shop!

It is the 5th Saturday of the month so that means... the sketch is any Sketch of your Choice from Challenge #215-311!

[Please include a picture of the sketch you used in your post]

I got to play with Polka Dot Pals Heidi from Little Miss Muffet Stamps and used Sketch #256 for my card.

There are hidden prizes along the way (I can't tell you who has them nor what they are!), but to be in with a chance of winning one of them, all you need to do is comment on each DT member's blog posts.

Here's the whole blog hop list...

Enjoy and good luck!

Pretty Ashlyn

I thought I would have a go at the Make It Colourful Challenge #10 today and try to do both levels! Eeek! The easy level was to use pink and brown - very easy for me as it's one of my favourite combos. The hard level was to use curly hair! I pulled out my Ashlyn digi and jumped in the deep end with both feet! This is the first time I have ever attempted to colour in hair this big and this busy. I didn't quite get it all correct and I'm sure I've coloured bits in that were supposed to be gaps in the flowing hair, but you can't tell that much!

This is also for Sketchy Challenges #74 to use this fabulous sketch and Scrapbook Stamp Society's Challenge #42, but I didn't use the option this time.

And here she is...

Recipe:

Cogsley Copperpot!

And here's my card. It was getting a bit dull with all the dark red/burgundy/brown papers so added some Champagne glitter paper to sparkle it up a bit!

Music Notes Rio

This is the other card I made for the Simply B competition on Facebook. This time I've used Music Notes Rio and the challenge was to use black, white and on other colour and for me it just had to be pink! This card is also for Crafty Sentiments Challenge to be inspired by a song. As soon as I saw this sentiment, Kiki Dee's "I've got the Music In Me" came into my head - an oldie from the year before I was born! I grew up with lots of oldies though as my mum was really into Motown, Elvis and 70s disco. My dad loved his Rod Stewart! I so did not have cool parents! LOL Love them to bits though!

Anyway here's my Rio - I kept it fairly simple as I used this fabulous music background die cut from the Silhouette Studio and didn't want to cover too much of it up! Couldn't quite get y flicks on the black hair on this one though!

I would love to be able to get away with my hair like that again - I used to have it all multi-coloured as a teenager/young adult and my favourite combination was dark purple with bright turquoise highlights! Shame I'm now a grown up sensible teacher and I doubt my headteacher would let me have it like this! Oh I miss those days sometimes!

Recipe:

Stamps: Music Notes Rio from Simply B Stamps

Papers: Strawberry Slush, Basic Black, Whisper White, In Colors 2013-15 DSP Stack all from Stampin' Up, Neenah Solar Crest

Inks: Copic Markers

Accessories: Oval and Scalloped Oval Nestabilities both from Spellbinders, Silhouette Die Cuts, Gems from stash

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, R20

Eyes - W1, W3, W5
Top - RV13, RV14, RV17, RV19, 100
Lips - RV10, RV14, RV17

And that's all from me for today folks! Thanks for stopping by.

The Ice Queen

Simply B Stamps' Facebook group is having a competition to make 2 cards using 2 new digis - Ice Queen and Music Notes Rio. I did both today and this is the Ice Queen card which had to be in icy tones with some sparkle as well. I used some die cute from my Silhouette Portrait machine for the base and layers as well as some of the embellishments. I also used the colours from Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #262, which were perfect for the icy tones!

And here's my Ice Queen. Such a gorgeous digi to colour and my hair flicking is slowly getting there!

Recipe:

Stamps: Ice Queen, Betty and Short Snout for the sentiment both from Simply B Stamps

Papers: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, In Colors 2011-13 DSP Stack (Retired), Winter Frost DSP all from Stampin' Up, Neenah Solar Crest

Olivia's Secret Window

I received this image from Lacy Sunshine last week as part of their loyalty programme when joining in their challenges and using one of their digis, but I printed her way too big really. Not one to waste expensive cardstock, I thought I would use her anyway and love how much easier it was to colour such a big image. Shame there was not much room for anything else on the card!

Anyway this card is for Lacy Sunshine's Challenge #33 Anything Goes, Colour Q's Challenge #242 to use the colours below (although I have probably added too much brown to be honest!) and for Deep Ocean's Challenge #78 to use wings - added a few more butterflies as well as the ones in the image.

And here she is...See what I mean about being too big! Need to learn to check my sizes before printing onto card!

Recipe:

Stamps: Olivia's Secret Window from Lacy Sunshine

Fussy and Fancy Blog Hop Winner

Good morning! It's time to announce all the Fancy and Fussy Blog Hop Winners today. But before I get on to mine, I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who joined in. We hope you enjoyed it - I know I did and there were some absolutely stunning cards in the hop, don't you think?

I used Random.org to pick my winner and he picked #4, which is Vinita Jain! Congratulations Vinita!

Please email me at saffivort@yahoo.com with your choices of 2 digi stamps from The Paper Shelter. You will be spoilt for choice here!

A Mermaid's Wish

Aurora Wings have a Facebook challenge this month to use blue so I thought I would have a go at colouring in their gorgeous Mermaid's Wish digi. She did take quite a long while to do and although it's nowhere near as good as Alyce Keegan's version, I do love how it came out. This card is also for Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #261 Nautical - are mermaids classed as nautical? They belong in the sea so I'm making a loose connection here as I think nautical should be sailors, anchors and boats etc, but some of the DT had sea creatures on their cards, so am guessing mermaids will also be allowed!

Anyway here she is - a rather monochromatic card as well, but I love all the turquoise with the darker blue.

Recipe:

Stamps: Mermaid's Wish from Aurora Wings

Papers: Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Brights DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Pacific Point from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers, Silver Star & Clear Star Gelly Roll Pens

Accessories: Old Swedish Lace Border Die from Magnolia, Anja's Vintage Decoration 2 Die LR0270 from Marianne Creatables, Ribbon from stash, Dew Drops

Copics Used:
Skin - E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20

Scales on mermaid - BG72, BG75, BG78
Fish - BG13, BG15, BG18
Starfish - YR12, YR15, YR18

And that's all from me for today folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Scene It Sunday #180 Featuring Fore You from Di's Digi Stamps

Good morning and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday. This week I have used this cute golfing mice image from Di's Digi Stamps, ...
