Lacy Sunshine Challenge #41 Use a window

I can't believe my summer holiday is slowly drawing to a close! I go back to school tomorrow for two training days and then the children come back on Wednesday. That was one fast, expensive and busy summer holiday! Anyway it's Sunday morning and that can only mean one thing...a new challenge at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge blog and this fortnight we are challenging you to use a window. Heather has a gorgeous collection of Secret Window images - some are cute-sy, some Steampunk/Gothic style, but all are fabulous and just perfect for this challenge!

I used the Gothic style Abby's Secret Window for mine and went for traditional Gothic colours of black and purple. This image would also be great to use for a Hallowe'en card as well.

Treasure Your Day

I love this image from The East Wind and just had to use her for their Facebook Challenge Pirates. She was lots of fun to colour, although I'm not completely happy with her skirt, but oh well. Never mind! This card is also for Crafty Ribbons Challenge to make a birthday card with ribbon, A Creative Romance's Challenge to use Kraft card and for The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge which is an Anything Goes challenge, but I didn't add the twist this time.

I don't actually have any map stamps or anything remotely related to pirates, ships or sailing, so had to improvise a little and use my steampunk corner dies and made a couple of little scrolls for mini maps!

You Colour My World!

I thought I would go for a  nice, bright, summery card today for A Random Fan's Challenge #13 Anything Goes, especially as our summer seems to have finished now over here in the UK. It has become quite chilly and windy this past week and I think Autumn is making an early appearance. This card is also for Through The Craftroom Door's Challenge, which is also an Anything Goes Challenge, for Inky Chicks Challenge #36 to use fairies or angels and finally for Deep Ocean's Challenge #85 to use something sweet (she's a very sweet looking angel!).

And here she is - I just had to do a rainbow background for her as well and love all these bright colours together.

I went for traditional Hallowe'en colours - black, green, orange and purple and used my fave PATP set, Spiderweb! This is just perfect for Hallowe'en cards! Isn't she just adorable in her candy corn t-shirt and spotty skirt!

The Paper Nest Dolls Guest Designer Post #1

This is the first card I have done as a guest designer for The Paper Nest Dolls using a couple of their new stamps. I just love these gorgeous girls and have quite the collection building up now! This beauty is called Ellie with Teddy.

I went with a traditional girly card for this one and just had to use lots of pink on her. She is just so cute and this image would be perfect for a little girl's birthday card or even to make a picture frame for her room.

Sunny Day Wryn

I love all the Wryn stamps from Tiddly Inks and pulled out a fairly new one that I haven't yet used for a couple of challenges today! This card is for Tiddly Inks Challenge #139 Anything Goes and for Creative Inspirations Challenge #277 to use the sketch below. I didn't want to make her into a sunflower like so many other people have done, so went with a pink flower and green dress as the stem instead. I guess I really should have coloured her shoes in brown for the soil or green for the grass really, but I felt she was lacking in pink!

And here's my take on this sketch...

Recipe:

Stamps: Wryn Sunny Day from Tiddly Inks, Ticket Notes form Whimsy Stamps

Papers: Primrose Petals, Chocolate Chip, Lucky Limeade all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card, Stella Rose Hazel Patterned Papers from My Mind's Eye

Splitz in a Pretty Pink Pose

I love my fairies as well as my Alice in Wonderland (in fact I love everything fantasy related!) and was so excited to join in with In The Pink's Challenge #151 to use fairies and pink - what else could a pink, fairy loving crafter want?! LOL This card is also for Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use a die cut.

I had to pull out one of my gorgeous Lacy Sunshine fairies for this one - this is Splitz Pretty Pose. I did get a bit carried away with the pink and it overloaded it a bit, which is why I had to add some white and pink butterflies to try and balance it out a bit more.

Recipe:

Stamps: Splitz Pretty Pose from Lacy Sunshine Stamps, Fairy Fantasy Circle Postmarks from Whimsy Stamps

Papers: Pretty in Pink (Retired), Rose Red, Whisper White, Berry Bliss DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Queen of Hearts Ellie

I am a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland and just seem to keep buying various digis of Alice, The Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts. This Queen of Hearts is from The Paper Nest Dolls and I love her. She's a sweet looking Queen, not the nasty, vicious Queen from the book.

This card is for The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge #17, which is always an anything goes challenge and for Sketch and Stash's Challenge #145 to use the sketch below. My old stash is the ribbon which has been retired from SU from years now and my new stuff is my fairly new digi, but never before used, digi. I did have to leave off the embellishments in the top left corner as my sentiment was there and didn't really look right anywhere else though.

And here she is...isn't she just the cutest? I'm really getting the hang of flicking with black hair now thanks to Alyce Keegan's classes, but I must make a start on the clothing one soon so I can get my pleats right.

Recipe:

Stamps: Queen Ellie from The Paper Nest Dolls, Background Basics: Hearts, Boutique Borders: Love both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Real Red, Basic Black, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Real Red, Basic Black both from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by. Pop back later as I have another card for The Paper Nest Dolls, but this time as a Guest Designer for their showcase blog :)

Fussy and Fancy Challenge #121 with Crafty Sentiments

Happy Friday! Only one week of my holiday left and guess where I'll be spending it?! Not at the beach, no....Not in the countryside, no....Not visiting some fantastic place, no....I'll be back at work. I have moved classrooms this year again so I now have to go in, reorganise all my stuff in cupboards (just hope they have been emptied!) and start to put up displays and tray labels for the kids etc. That will take me the best part of the week as well all the planning I have to do with my partner teacher as well.

Anyway it's time for another challenge from the Fussy and Fancy Challenge blog and this fortnight we have a great challenge for you, sponsored by Crafty Sentiments. Our challenge for you is pets, so included a pet of some kind on your project!

Here's a picture of my cat, Tallulah Zazzles (yes I let the boyfriend pick her name) and she's a gorgeous Blue British Shorthair and the stroppiest madam I have ever met! She snuffs her nose at any food that is not the posh food or cream - she will not eat wet food at all. She has about 6 different beds dotted around the house and her favourite place to sleep, believe it or not, is in the lid of a paper box that I brought home from work. It has completely fallen to bits and is taped up, but she will not sleep anywhere else - why? See, stroppy LOL

Enough about Tallulah and on to my card. I used the cute Friendship digi stamp from Crafty Sentiments for this card and went for a little more vintage feel for it.

Recipe:

Stamps: Friendship from Crafty Sentiments, Sentiment Tags from Lily of the Valley

Papers: Soft Sky from Stampin' Up, Yellowy-cream from stash, Copic X-Press It Blending Card, Grandma's Attic Daisy and Leaves papers from Pion Design

Accessories: Soft Sky Seam Binding Ribbon from Stampin' Up, Doo-Hickey Lovely Lace Border Die form Magnolia, Lace from stash, Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, Gems from Papermania, Glitter stamens form Live & Love Crafts, Doily from eBay

Copics Used:

Hair - E50, E51, E53
Bench - E13, E15, E18

Pretty in Pink

I thought I would enter the All Dressed Up Challenge #20 Flower Power this week using a fairly new digi that I haven't yet used. this one is called Mirror Mirror and she is just so pretty, don't you think? And here she is, getting all ready for either a night out or a night in bed, depending on how you view her I guess. I went for an easel card as I didn't leave any room for a sentiment!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #170 Lace

It's time for another challenge from the fabulous The Paper Shelter design team and today our challenge #170 is to use lace. There are so many gorgeous laces out there and I have a huge piles of laces in various colours and sizes so it was hard for me to choose which one and then it was even harder to choose which gorgeous image to use.

I eventually decided to go a little bit sassy and use some red lace that I bought from my local craft store a while ago and teamed it up with the gorgeous Tango stamp from The Paper Shelter. I fell in love with this digi as soon as I saw her but have never gotten round to using her until today. My printer for some reason didn't like her tights though and only printed dots rather than the actual lines so I had to use my Copic Fine Liner to put them back in at the end.

Anyway here she is....Isn't she just fabulous?! I couldn't find any dance related sentiments in my arsenal of stamps so hunted on Pinterest for some good ones and copied this one. It's so true as well. Life would be so much more fun if we danced more!

And here's my card for it... Isn't she just the cutest with those gorgeous, big, brown eyes?!

I decided to go for a nice, bright colour combo this time and although orange and yellow are not colours I usually use, I really love this card. My hair flicks are so much better this time and boy does this gorgeous girl have a lot of hair!
