Nightmare Before Christmas Hanging

I don't didn't own any of the Sassy Studio Designs Hallowe'en digis so I went hunting for some for their challenge this week and found some Nightmare Before Christmas inspired ones. I did squeal a little as I didn't realise they had these and I just love NBC! So today I printed one out and coloured it in the make a Hallowe'en hanging for their Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge #253 Happy Hallowe'en.

This is also for Anything Goes with a Twist Challenge #5 which is an anything goes challenge with a twist of "Dark" this week and for A Gem of A Challenge #131 Trick or Treat (Hallowe'en).

And here it is...I deliberately left off  a sentiment so I could hang this up in my room after Hallowe'en has ended and have it on display all year round! To make it sturdier I added a piece of thick card that you get with the glitter card from SU.

Recipe:

Whimsy Stamps DT Call

Whimsy Stamps are having a DT call. I will admit I wasn't sure whether to enter it or not as I know there are going to be so many fabulous entries, but as my boyfriend rightly pointed out, "You'll never know if you don't try!", so here I am with my entry.

I love Whimsy Stamps and many of the other lines they do in digi and rubber as well, such as Art by MiRan, Wee Stamps, Time for Tea Designs etc and I have so many of their sentiment stamps too as they always seem to have one that is just exactly what I am looking for. There just so many different designers to choose from at Whimsy, it's sometimes too hard just to choose one or two to use!

I have been a regular participant in the Whimsy Stamps challenge blog and was lucky enough to be chosen as a Guest Designer in the past.

Anyway here is my card for this entry using one of my favourite colour combos - pink and brown. I used the cute Goldie Locks by Elizabeth Bell and the Ticket Notes sentiment set too. Not sure if you can see it very well in the picture, but I have paper-toled this image so she has more depth and I love how she came out.

I thought I would also add a couple of my other favourite cards using products from Whimsy Stamps as well.

And I made this one using Hopeful from the Wee Stamps line by Sylvia Zet. You can find my original post here.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #180 Is it too early for Christmas?

Veronica has been bringing out so many gorgeous new winter/Christmas digi at the minute and I am so glad this challenge is perfect for them! This week at The Paper Shelter, we would like you to make a Christmas card/project. I know I am going to need lots of Christmas cards again this year, so it's always handy to make an early start (but I will probably still be making them the last few days of the season too!).

I used the gorgeous Holy Night, which is one of the latest releases. Isn't she gorgeous and the reindeer is cute too! I added some snow writer for the snow on the ground and some little flowers in the corners to act as poinsettias. I don't actually have any poinsettias dies and only 1 stamps, which was too big for what I wanted. Thinking about it now, I should have used my Silhouette Portrait to cut some out, but it just didn't occur to me at the time!

Anyway here she is....I printed her a bit smaller than I usually do and whilst it made her a bit harder to colour, I like the smaller size (sometimes!).

Recipe:

Stamps: Holy Night from The Paper Shelter, Holiday Photo Finishers from Papertrey Ink, Petite Petals from Stampin' Up

Papers: Real Red, River Rock, Whisper White, Dashing DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Cheshire Cat's A Dreaming

The challenge on The East Wind's Facebook page this time is to use animals. I used my second prize discount code from the previous zombies challenge to buy this fabulous Cheshire Cat digi for a different twist on the challenge. I'm also entering this card into Kraftin' Kimmie's Wonderful Wednesday Challenge, which is an anything goes one as it The Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge.

I used the colours from Disney's Cheshire Cat for my colours and although they don't match the papers I used, I actually quite like it. I wanted to use this chevron paper from SU, but didn't have any in bright pink or purple, so went with the closest I had.

Now Alison's in the Graveyard!

After having Marie and Fangletta haunt a graveyard for my Lacy Sunshine DT project the other week, I thought I would create a scene using the Tiddly Inks digi Alison and some of the elements from Batty for You to create a mini graveyard scene!

This card is for Tiddly Inks Challenge #143 to use non-traditional Hallowe'en colours (not sure if mine are really as I use grey, purple and green on Hallowe'en cards, but the challenge stated no orange or black, which I haven't got any of apart from the raven and the bat). This is also for Di's Digi Designs Hallowe'en Challenge, Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #22 Hallowe'en, Crafty Little Fairies Challenge for October to use only 1 patterned paper, for Deep Ocean's Challenge #89 to make a one layer card (I think my passes as some of the DT did a patterned paper layer and their their image layer) and for The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge to make a scene.

And here she is...I did get a bit carried away with all the clouds on this one and I wish I had use a spooky tree in the background too, but that only occurred to me after I had finished my colouring! And I think I finally have made enough Hallowe'en cards now!

Raven Haired Rapunzel

I bought this gorgeous digi from Sassy Studio a couple of weeks ago and thought she would be perfect for a few challenges today! Now I know Rapunzel is usually depicted as having long blonde hair, but I thought she would look beautiful with black hair and she definitely does!

This card is for Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge #252 to make a card any shape except a square, so out came my Silhouette Portrait to cut the base, along with the oval frame, flowers, borders and swirls. This is also for A Creative Romance's Challenge to use pink, for Anything Goes with a Twist Challenge #4 to use a touch of pink (Mine is a bit more than a touch, but I hope I can get away with it!), Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use black, white and one other colour and for The Outlawz Saturday Paper A La Mode Challenge which is an Anything Goes one this week.

Art by MiRan Facebook Challenge #2 for October - Anything Goes

Happy Friday and oh what a good Friday today is! It's the end of the half term so I now have a week off work and boy do I need it after this week?! I have done 2 parents evenings - one until 6pm, the other until just after 7pm and had to endure a whole day of Rock 'n' Roll singing from 9:30 - 6:30! I am absolutely shattered! The things us teachers have to do, huh?! I have no idea where this 3pm finish comes from as we certainly never do it!

Anyway on to the challenge for the Art by MiRan Facebook group. This fortnight our challenge is an Anything Goes one again, as it is for the second challenge of every month. I decided to make another Hallowe'en creation this month, but made a decoration instead of a card this time. I used the fang-tastic Vampire Veronica. Isn't she just fabulous?! She's a very classy vampire.

I made a flourish coffin box using my Silhouette Portrait machine and added Veronica to the front. the camera didn't really pick it up but her cape is covered with clear star Gelly roll pen and there are dots of it round the edge of the box too for some subtle hints of sparkler.

Not the best photo in the world as it was really hard trying to take a photo in the dark-ish so that you can see the effect of having a battery operated tea light inside the coffin. Looks fabulous in real life though and really lights up Vampire Veronica!

Recipe:

Stamps: Vampire Veronica from Art by MiRan, Halloween Treats & Sweets from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Basic Black, Whisper White, Brights DSP all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

House of Cards October Challenge - Use a Punch and/or die

Welcome to another challenge from the House of Cards Challenge blog. This month we are challenging you to use either a punch or a die, or if you feel like it use both! I did! I recently bought some of the gorgeous KennyK digis and pulled one out for this challenge. Love these funky girls! They are just perfect for the Cute and Fun team!

Fabulous Ballgown Ellie

I just had to play along with The Paper Nest Dolls Challenge #21 this fortnight for the chance to be their guest designer, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I used the gorgeous Ballgown Ellie for this card and wanted to do her in some different colours to my usual pink. I found a pad of virtually unused papers in turquoise, teal and grey and went with those colours and really love this combo!

This card is also for Crafty Sentiments challenge to use things that begin with "G". I have girl, glamorous (I think she is anyway), Glitter pen and grey card.

Happy Birthday All Dressed Up

It's All Dressed Up's birthday and to celebrate they are giving away a fabulous freebie image to see in their birthday blog hop. Well seeing as I love these stamps so much, I just had to join in and add this card to their current Anything Goes challenge as well.

I went for a pretty, soft colour combo for this one and love how it came out. I did take off the number part of the digi as I don't know any little girl with an upcoming birthday so left it without for a generic birthday card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Birthday Girl Freebie from All Dressed Up

Papers: So Saffron, Smoky Slate both from Stampin' Up, Sweet Afternoon Patterned Papers from Teresa Collins, Copics X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Copic Markers
