Make A Wish...I Dare You!

I totally love this scary witch image from The East Wind, but hadn't used her. Challenge #18 over in the East Wind Facebook group this time is called Once Upon A Time and I thought she would be perfect for this challenge. You know evil witches and fairytale princesses and all that...

I deliberately kept to darker Hallowe'en type colours but didn't want to make a Hallowe'en card, so I added my slightly darker own sentiment instead. I added a load of frantage around hr as well to act as the magic sparks coming off whatever evil spell she is doing! Bwah ha ha!

Hello Sunshine!

We're getting a little bit of sunshine here in the UK but lots and lots of rain and dark clouds too! Where, oh where had the little sun gone?!

Anyway to put myself in a summery mood, I used the gorgeous Surfing digi from Alicia Bel to join in with their challenge #9 Anything Goes with the option of summer holiday. I actually got this stamp as part of my winning prize from the previous challenge and just had to use her!

I found a new way to use Dutch Doobadoo's structure paste today. I used the clouds stencil and filled in random clouds for the sky and couldn't be bothered to wait for it to dry in between the placements of the clouds, so heated it up with my heat gun. It made the paste go all bubbly and dried it really quickly. Then when the bubbles went down, it gave the clouds some real fluffy like texture. Love it when I find out new things like this by accident!

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #292 - What'd You Say?

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new Dare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge. This week we want to see you using a sassy sentiment  - it can be from Sassy Studio Designs or elsewhere or one of your own!

I used the gorgeous Cleopatra Portrait and one of the sentiments that comes with her for this one. I used a colour combo of rich blue and gold to represent the colours used by the Egyptian royalty back in the day! The Ancient Egyptians is one of my favourite history topics to teach and I will be doing it again in September - so looking forward to it!

I attempted to make a blue and gold background paper, but the gold Encore ink pad I have was not very good at all and needed to be stamped 2 or 3 times to get a solid-ish covering! Very annoying and it also took ages to dry and even though I used it heat gun on it, it did hardly anything to dry it!

The Paper Nest Dolls Inspiration Post - Pin Wheel Ellie

Good Morning and welcome to another of my inspiration posts for The Paper Nest Dolls. This week I fancied doing another not so frilly, not so pink card as I always tend to veer in those directions when making girly cards. This time I used the cute Pin Wheel Ellie and used my pin wheel stamp set from Waltzing Mouse Stamps to make a colourful background. I also avoided the use of pink as well LOL

This card is also for

I remembered today that the next part of the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Progressive Challenge was due tomorrow, so I got my skates on and made my card up today. Although I don't do playing cards like some of the other entrants used on their cards, I used the colours and love the red, black and white combo! Always a good one!

The Grey Witch

I thought I would join in the Faery Ink Facebook Group Challenge again this month and this was definitely a challenge for me. We have to use grey scale with a pop of colour. I have never done this before, so I hope I have the right idea. I used an image that I knew this technique would work on - a witch and then coloured her, including the skin, using various shades of grey, only adding in a touch of purple on her hat ribbon and some streaks in her hair.

I actually love hos this one came out, although I'm not sure what other images I would feel comfortable using this technique with as it worked so well for a witch image. I didn't want to go for a traditional Hallowe'en card as such and found this fabulous sentiment in a Stampin' Up set that I bought last year and used once! Another good reason to give up my demonstratorship I think, not using the stamps I have actually bought!

Anyway here she is...

Dare To Be Sassy #291 Sparkle is a Girl's Best Friend

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new Dare To Be Sassy Challenge. This week we are challenging you to add some sparkle to your project.

I used the gorgeous Ella At The Ball for my card and one of my fave colour combos of pink and aqua with lots of butterflies, pretty die cuts and, of course, lots of gems for the sparkle!

I thought I would also enter the Noor! Design UK DT call with this card. I have a huge addiction to dies and all these beautiful ones from Joy Crafts are some of my faves. I love the versatility of them and how they make a project just look so elegant! I love my layers, as you might have guessed, and these dies let me add lots of extra layers without making a card overly bulky as well. The pretty papers are a huge favourite of mine too and I have collected quite a few of the paper blocs now.

I was recently a guest designer at Noor! Design UK and loved being part of the DT for the month. I loved making a variety of projects, not just cards and felt that I stretched myself a little bit more than usual by making some 3D projects, which I don't tend to do for no particular reason.

I am mostly a Copics colourer but have started to try my hand at using Distress Inks, but need to become more confident at using those! But now I am on my summer holidays I will have more time to practise!

I am on Pinterest (sometimes for too long! LOL) and Facebook (again for too long at times!) and am on a few other design teams too, which you can see on my side bar.

Recipe:

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new In The Pink Challenge. This fortnight we are challenging you to use stars on your projects - you can use patterned papers with stars on, images, stamps, ribbons, die cuts - you name it as long as we can see your stars!

I used a gorgeous image from The Paper Shelter for this card, and tried to do a night time sky look - was not sure about how it came out at first, so added lots of frantage as extra stars and now I'm even less sure about it. I do like it, but think I went overboard with the frantage again!

The Paper Shelter Special Summer Challenge - Anything Goes

Good Morning and welcome to an extra post from me for The Paper Shelter Challenge. It's a special summer challenge this time which will last for 2 weeks and will give the DT a little summer break, so we won't be commenting on your cards for this challenge.

I actually don't read dead tree books as I have a Kindle, but I do use them at school so this will come in handy for there. Love this little guy and thought he would make a fun "Happy Summer" card to give to our link governor at school, who comes in every week to listen to children in our year group read.
