The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge - Anything Goes with a Christmas Twist

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge over at The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge. This week is our monthly Anything Goes Challenge with an optional twist of making a Christmas card or project. I opted in for the Christmas twist this time and used one of my favourite images from All Dressed Up, 3 Little Christmas Girls. Love these cuties!

Make A Wish...I Dare You!

I totally love this scary witch image from The East Wind, but hadn't used her. Challenge #18 over in the East Wind Facebook group this time is called Once Upon A Time and I thought she would be perfect for this challenge. You know evil witches and fairytale princesses and all that...

I deliberately kept to darker Hallowe'en type colours but didn't want to make a Hallowe'en card, so I added my slightly darker own sentiment instead. I added a load of frantage around hr as well to act as the magic sparks coming off whatever evil spell she is doing! Bwah ha ha!

Hello Sunshine!

We're getting a little bit of sunshine here in the UK but lots and lots of rain and dark clouds too! Where, oh where had the little sun gone?!

Anyway to put myself in a summery mood, I used the gorgeous Surfing digi from Alicia Belto join in with their challenge #9 Anything Goes with the option of summer holiday. I actually got this stamp as part of my winning prize from the previous challenge and just had to use her!

I found a new way to use Dutch Doobadoo's structure paste today. I used the clouds stencil and filled in random clouds for the sky and couldn't be bothered to wait for it to dry in between the placements of the clouds, so heated it up with my heat gun. It made the paste go all bubbly and dried it really quickly. Then when the bubbles went down, it gave the clouds some real fluffy like texture. Love it when I find out new things like this by accident!

Dare To Be Sassy Thursday #292 - What'd You Say?

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the newDare To Be Sassy Thursday Challenge. This week we want to see you using a sassy sentiment  - it can be from Sassy Studio Designs or elsewhere or one of your own!

I used the gorgeous Cleopatra Portrait and one of the sentiments that comes with her for this one. I used a colour combo of rich blue and gold to represent the colours used by the Egyptian royalty back in the day! The Ancient Egyptians is one of my favourite history topics to teach and I will be doing it again in September - so looking forward to it!

I attempted to make a blue and gold background paper, but the gold Encore ink pad I have was not very good at all and needed to be stamped 2 or 3 times to get a solid-ish covering! Very annoying and it also took ages to dry and even though I used it heat gun on it, it did hardly anything to dry it!

The Paper Nest Dolls Inspiration Post - Pin Wheel Ellie

Good Morning and welcome to another of my inspiration posts for The Paper Nest Dolls. This week I fancied doing another not so frilly, not so pink card as I always tend to veer in those directions when making girly cards. This time I used the cute Pin Wheel Ellie and used my pin wheel stamp set from Waltzing Mouse Stamps to make a colourful background. I also avoided the use of pink as well LOL

Sweet Pea Stamps Progressive Challenge - Queen of Wonder

I remembered today that the next part of the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Progressive Challenge was due tomorrow, so I got my skates on and made my card up today. Although I don't do playing cards like some of the other entrants used on their cards, I used the colours and love the red, black and white combo! Always a good one!

This card is also for the Inky Chicks Challenge #54 to use metal embellishments - my brads are!

The Grey Witch

I thought I would join in the Faery Ink Facebook Group Challenge again this month and this was definitely a challenge for me. We have to use grey scale with a pop of colour. I have never done this before, so I hope I have the right idea. I used an image that I knew this technique would work on - a witch and then coloured her, including the skin, using various shades of grey, only adding in a touch of purple on her hat ribbon and some streaks in her hair.

I actually love hos this one came out, although I'm not sure what other images I would feel comfortable using this technique with as it worked so well for a witch image. I didn't want to go for a traditional Hallowe'en card as such and found this fabulous sentiment in a Stampin' Up set that I bought last year and used once! Another good reason to give up my demonstratorship I think, not using the stamps I have actually bought!

Anyway here she is...

The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge - Dance

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new Friday Colouring Challenge over at The Outlawz. This week we are celebrating National Dance Day on July 25th, so we want use to use the theme of dance in your project.

As we are sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps again this month, I asked to use the gorgeous Joy Is...Dance Like Nobody's Watching by Helena Reis - isn't she just perfect for this challenge. I still love dancing round my room to my music as I don't go clubbing any more! I used the fab On A High Note papers from Lili of the Valley, which are just perfect for a musical themed card!

Dare To Be Sassy #291 Sparkle is a Girl's Best Friend

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the newDare To Be Sassy Challenge. This week we are challenging you to add some sparkle to your project.

I used the gorgeous Ella At The Ball for my card and one of my fave colour combos of pink and aqua with lots of butterflies, pretty die cuts and, of course, lots of gems for the sparkle!

I thought I would also enter the Noor! Design UK DT call with this card. I have a huge addiction to dies and all these beautiful ones from Joy Crafts are some of my faves. I love the versatility of them and how they make a project just look so elegant! I love my layers, as you might have guessed, and these dies let me add lots of extra layers without making a card overly bulky as well. The pretty papers are a huge favourite of mine too and I have collected quite a few of the paper blocs now.
I was recently a guest designer at Noor! Design UK and loved being part of the DT for the month. I loved making a variety of projects, not just cards and felt that I str…

In The Pink Challenge #74 Stars

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new In The Pink Challenge. This fortnight we are challenging you to use stars on your projects - you can use patterned papers with stars on, images, stamps, ribbons, die cuts - you name it as long as we can see your stars!

I used a gorgeous image from The Paper Shelter for this card, and tried to do a night time sky look - was not sure about how it came out at first, so added lots of frantage as extra stars and now I'm even less sure about it. I do like it, but think I went overboard with the frantage again!

The Paper Shelter Special Summer Challenge - Anything Goes

Good Morning and welcome to an extra post from me for The Paper Shelter Challenge. It's a special summer challenge this time which will last for 2 weeks and will give the DT a little summer break, so we won't be commenting on your cards for this challenge.

I fancied making something a little different for a change and made a giant bookmark with the gorgeous Dragon Whisperer. I actually don't read dead tree books as I have a Kindle, but I do use them at school so this will come in handy for there. I made it a bit bigger at 4 x 6 inches than usual to fit the image, otherwise she would have been too small for it.

Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration Post - Embrace The Ocean

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps and Challenge blog. This week we are inspiring you with all things Mermaids and Ocean. I chose to use the gorgeous Embrace The Oceanfor my card this week and kept to traditional sea colours of blue and green.

Mermaids, along with fairies, are my favourite images to work with. I think I just love all things fantasy to be honest, and I find they make really easy cards too.

And here she is...lots of seashells on this one as I finally remembered to buy some from eBay!

Lacy Sunshine Challenge #63 Over The Rainbow

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new challenge over at the Lacy Sunshine Challenge blog. This fortnight our challenge is called Over The Rainbow and we are looking for you to use rainbows in your projects or use the colours of the rainbow.

I used the cute Eleanor as Dorothy image for my card as the first thing that came to mind when I read the challenge title was, of course, The Wizard of Oz and I had to add a rainbow coloured striped background too.

Recipe:
Stamps: Eleanor as Dorothy from Lacy Sunshine Stamps, Dorothy from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Art by MiRan Facebook Challenge Anything Goes

Happy Friday! This Friday is even better than all other Fridays of the year put together! Why, you may ask! It's the end of the school year and the start of my long summer holidays! Yay!!! Now I have more time to sleep, relax, craft, read and to properly celebrate my 40th birthday, which was on Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who joined in my birthday celebrations over on the Art by MiRan Facebook group.

But now it's time for this fortnight's new challenge. It's time for our Anything Goes challenge, but we are now adding an extra option with more chances to win. This month the optional theme is to add ribbon and/or lace. If you enter our challenge using this theme then your project will be entered twice into the draw, so you now have more chances to win some fabulous digis from Art by MiRan!

I used the gorgeous Flo from Whimsy Stampsfor my card this time in summery colours of blue and yellow - loving this combo at the minute!

I attempted to include all except the pink on my card - I think I got them all! I used the gorgeous Toadstool Princess from Lemon Shortbread @Sweet Pea Stamps, who are our fabulous sponsors this month.

Art  by MiRan are having a special day today. Not only is it my own birthday and there is a special challenge for that over at the Art by MiRan Facebook group, but it is our fabulous DT leader's birthday too.
Happy Birthday Jackie!!!
We are having a surprise blog hop for her over the next three days, so you should have popped on over from Corinne's blog to see my card using one of my favourite Art by MiRan images - Fairy Lily.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #212 Use Some Circles

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for The Paper Shelter Challenge blog. This week we are challenging you to use some circles on your project. That means we want to see circle shapes - gems, pearls, flowers etc will not count as the circles.

I made a circular shaped card using the new fab Viking Vacation. Love this little guy and thought he would make a fun "Happy Summer" card to give to our link governor at school, who comes in every week to listen to children in our year group read. He has been a big help in encouraging them to read more often as well as helping them to improve.

I thought he would look great in a beach scene and love how this card came out.

Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration Post - Wicked Musing

Good Morning and welcome to my very last day of my 30s! Yep I turn the big 4-0 tomorrow, so what better way to celebrate than with my favourite holiday season - Hallowe'en. A few months early I know, but I love all things witchy and ghoulie and creepy, so when we were asked to choose an image from the Witch/Spooky/Gothic section of Ching-Chou's images, I knew I had to make a Hallowe'en card!

I used the gorgeous Wicked Musing and kept to a darker colour palette. I added some spiders, bats and black cats paper along with a William Shakespeare quote from MacBeth from the witches boiling up their potion! Hope you like her!
