In The Pink Challenge #93 For A Child or Baby

Good Morning and welcome to another challenge from In The Pink. I can't believe how quickly the last 2 weeks have flown by! This fortnight our challenge is to make a card or project for a child or a baby. Now for those of you who know me personally, you will know that I don't do babies (psst they scare me! LOL), so I went with making a card suitable for a child instead.

I used a gorgeous image from Mari's Digis and used some of my new patterned papers from Lemoncraft. I will blame Tracy Payne for this purchase as she got a load of these gorgeous papers in for her workshop that I went to last weekend and had to have them (and lots of other papers too!).

Anyway here she is....

Faery Ink Inspiration Post - Gabbie Swan Princess

So how are you loving all the new releases from Faery Ink this month?! I love them all! For my inspiration post this month, I am using the gorgeous Gabbie Swan Princess. I was a bit stuck for ideas on colours and in the end decided on a monochromatic colour combo with a touch of orange (for the swan's beak and feet).

I do think swans are really very graceful birds and spotted two the other morning on my way to work, eating the grass near the roundabout not far from the end of my road. There is a little stream that I cross just before the mini roundabout, so I guess they had swum down that to the fresh patch of grass for breakfast! Shame my phone was in the boot of my car otherwise I would have stopped to take a photo.

Anyway here is my card using another of my new templates from Dutch Doobadoo...

Alicia Bel Inspiration Post & Tutorial

Good Morning and welcome to an inspiration post from me for Alicia Bel. I decided to do a quick tutorial today to create a mermaid in a fishbowl card!

When finished it will look something like this....

You will need some cardstock, patterned papers, a mermaid digi (I used the gorgeous Beautiful Little Mermaid for my project), some sea life themed dies, acetate sheet, fish bowl template, glitter card and a sentiment stamp, along with your favourite colouring card and medium. (I do change my mind about what I am using as I make this card, so not all of the items in the photo were used and I added extras too!)

Start off by drawing round the fish bowl template, scoring the lines in the centre as well.

Draw round the 3rd sized layer on what will be the front side of your card and cut out with a craft knife.

Draw round the second layer in a different colour cardstock for the inside.

Draw round the third layer again but this time on to patterned paper (I used the Under The Sea Paper Bloc from Joy Crafts).

Then cut out all your die cuts and a wavy piece of glitter card for the sand. I did end up cutting out more than I did here as I wanted to embellish the outside of the bowl once I had put it all together.

Colour in your mermaid digi and cut out right up against the outline. I used Copics and the colours are listed below.

Add a piece of acetate to the front of your card with double sided tape. Add the cardstock and patterned paper layers and die cuts inside and attach your mermaid using 3D foam tape. Add further die cuts to the outside if you want as well. I closed the card using a piece of ribbon and punched two holes through both the front and back using a Crop-a-Dile.

When open your card will look like this!

Hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial and have a go at making one of these fish bowl cards!

This card is also for

The East Wind Challenge #53 Make Something 3D

Good Morning and welcome to my post for  the new challenge from The East Wind. This time we are challenging you to make something 3D or to add many layers to your project.

I used the gorgeous Lucy Loo Snow Queen and finally made a bow card! It is absolutely huge and has so many layers to it! Love it, but if I did another one I wouldn't add the mats under the patterned paper layers as that made it a bit too bulky and therefore the loops wouldn't fold over so easily.
