Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post - School Time Sentiments

Good Morning and welcome to my last inspiration post of the month for Whimsy Stamps. As it is nearly time for me to go back to school myself, I thought I would use one the quotes from School Time Sentiments to go up in my new classroom. I am moving schools after being in my previous school for 12 years, so I am feeling a bit nervous at the minute. I will be fine after a couple of weeks settling in to the new routines and new ways of doing things, but this quote will help me to feel positive!

I added the sentiment from the School Time Sentiments set to one of the papers from the School Time Papers set, changed the colour to a dark teal (the photo doesn't really show the true colour unfortunately) and just added a few simple embellishments.

This project is also for

Sherri Baldy My Besties New Release Count Trixie and her pets

Good morning and happy Bank Holiday! It's a Bank Holiday here in the UK which means most people get an extra day off work, but if you're already on holiday like me it's just another day to lounge around and craft the day away (although to be honest I have laundry to do, tidying up and bring all my school boxes downstairs from the spare room ready to load up tomorrow to take into my new school!)

I have a gorgeous new image to share with you today from Sherri Baldy. This one is Count Trixie and her pets and I just love it! Perfect for a bat themed Hallowe'en card. I had so many of my Copics run out of ink so my colour blends are probably not my usual ones (I spent 3 hours cleaning and refilling loads and still have 14 with no reinkers! Guess what I'm buying on payday this week!)

Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration Post - Butterflies

Good Morning and welcome to another of my inspiration post for Ching-Chou Kuik. This week I am sharing one of my favourite images from Ching-Chou's store - Butterflies. I just had to use pink as my main colour this time and went for a more vintage feel (although the frantage did go everywhere as you can see!). I also found some new and unused chipboard butterflies in one of my drawers that I thought would be perfect to embellish this card.

The Paper Shelter Challenge #306 - Gems, Pearls or Enamel Dots

Good Morning everyone and welcome to another fabulous challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is for you to use gems, pearls or enamel dots on your project. An easy challenge, right?!

I used the gorgeous Coconut and went for a blue, almost nautical theme. I added some Mini Prills at the bottom of the item to imitate the sea - these are really tiny little pearlescent balls that cost me a fortune from America and have never been used! I have 3 pots just sitting on my shelf as I had no idea how to use these, but was one of those things I saw and had to have! I bet you all have tons of crafting goodies like that too! I did also add a couple of tiny star gems to the flip flops - you can just see them!

Lemon Shortbread Flowers and Curls Girl

Good morning! My lovely friend Bettina let me know yesterday that Lemon Shortbread are having a DT call and I thought I would apply. I have a few of these digi stamps and they are gorgeous to colour, so I thought why not give it a go. I often play in their challenges and love all the new designs that Vera releases.

I used the stunning Flowers and Curls Girl for my card and I just love all her hair! I went for a pinky-purple colour combo and tried to imitate the flowers from the image using die cuts in the corner of the card. I do love how this one came out, so fingers crossed it's good enough to be chosen!

Ching Chou Kuik Inspiration Post - Lotus in June

Good Morning and welcome to my inspiration post for this week for Ching-Chou Kuik Stamps. This week I have used the gorgeous Lotus in June and the DT were challenged to use a colour we don't use very often or one we dislike. I'm not a great fan of orange to be honest and really only use it on Hallowe'en cards for pumpkins and only occasionally for other projects.

Today I jumped in with both feet and managed to make an almost completely orange card with just a few touches of green to break it up a bit!

This card is also for

Make It Crafty Fairy Wishes

Good Morning and welcome to another of my just for fun blog posts! I don't often get to post just for fun projects as I did have a lot of DT commitments, but I have dropped a lot of those now to give me more free time to just craft and do my own thing sometimes! Now I am on my summer holidays I get to play a lot more and this time I played with one of Krista Smith's new digi stamps that you can buy through Make It Crafty. I do love her Saturated Canary images and was a bit disappointed when she decided to close her store, but am so glad she has come back with another range!

I used the gorgeous Fairy Wishes and went for a mostly pink card. Not done a full pink card for a while now LOL

Simply B Stamps August Progressive Challenge - Strawberry Rio

Good Morning! I decided to join in once again with the progressive challenge from Simply B Stamps, but as I was on a time out for missing one of the previous challenges, I had to buy this image this time. She sure is gorgeous though. The challenge this time, Betty claimed was easy, but you know what I found it hard as I was limited in what I could use. As you all know I love my layers and embellishments and love adding die cuts and things, but this time we were only allowed to use 1 patterned paper and 1 embellishment! Argh!

The colour combo though was dead easy!

Image may contain: food

I didn't have any strawberry themed papers so made my own using my Strawberry Patch set from Papertrey Ink and then stamped some individual strawberries for some extra decoration! My embellishment was the ribbon and I also use one of my new Dutch Doobadoo Shape Art templates for the card base.

This card is also for

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post - Penguin Saint Nick With Robe

Good Morning and welcome to my Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post for this week. Today I am sharing with you another Christmas card; this time I am using Penguin Saint Nick with Robe. This digital stamp is excellent value for money as it comes with two different versions of the image, one with a robe and one without!

I used a different colour combo to the typical Christmas red and went with blue and silver (although my Wink of Stella glitter pen was a lot darker than I thought it would be, so is more of a grey than silver to be honest, but it goes well with the grey card I chose for my mounts!). I also used the Snow Fall Papers and added lots of snowflake die cuts around him too.

This card is also for

Recipe:

Stamps: Penguin Saint Nick With Robe from Whimsy Stamps

Papers: Pacific Point, Basic Grey & Whisper White all from Stampin' Up, Snow Fall Papers from Whimsy Stamps, Super Smooth Card from That Craft Place

Wee Stamps Love Me Do

My very best friend got married on August 4th to a fabulous man and I just had to make them a fabulous card for their wedding card. No shop bought ones from me! The main colour theme of the wedding was red, so I went for a red, white and grey combo on my card.

I took various inspiration ideas for several cards that I found on Pinterest (I rarely make wedding cards, so got a bit stuck for ideas initially), but I love the layered look that Mariska van der Veer uses with Wee Stamps, so decided to go for that look for my main image in the end. (If you don't already know Mariska's work, check out her blog: http://sendingyoualittlesmile.blogspot.co.uk. Her work is amazing, but it's a shame she hasn't posted in a while).

Excuse the photo, but I forgot to take one at home, so this was taken on my phone at the wedding reception before putting it on the gift table!

Ching-Chou Kuik Challenge for August - Four Legged Friends

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from the Ching-Chou Kuik Challenge and Inspiration blog. This month our challenge is for you to include an image of a four legged friend, so think cats, dogs, rabbits, frogs or like me and include a wolf!

I used the gorgeous Walk Unafraid for my card and instead of colouring her like Little Red Riding Hood, I decided to use shades of blue for her outfit. I used some old retired papers from Stampin' Up called Woodland Walk, which I thought fitted really well with this image and then added a couple of tag sentiments and a bunch of flowers. I had so much fun colouring this larger image and love all the details of the background in it.

Jasmine Becket-Griffith's Autumn Fairy

I received Jasmine Becket-Griffith's Hallowe'en Colouring Book as a present from my boyfriend a while ago and have only coloured up one image from it so far, so thought I would have a go at a full almost A4 sized image. I copied the page onto my Super Smooth Card from That Craft Place first so I could use my Copics and not ruin the book too.

This image is huge compared to those I usually colour and it took me hours, about 7-8 of them in total, but I had so much fun doing it. I need to buy a frame or something to put this one in as I just love how it came out. I definitely feel more confident in colouring these larger images now.

Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Post - Fabulous Fall Sentiments

Good Morning and welcome to this week's inspiration post from me for Whimsy Stamps. I thought I would share with you this time one of my Autumnal cards using one of the pre-coloured images in Tracy's Fabulous Fall Sentiments Coloured set and one of the papers from Autumn 1 Papers.

Having pre-coloured images, especially when they are a bit more complicated and detailed like this one, sure does make the card making process a lot quicker! This sweet card only took me about 10 minutes to get everything out, cut and glue together.

This card is also for
Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #135 Bingo #4 (I used Bows - Free - Sentiment)
As You Like It Challenge Favourite Embellishment (Mine is ribbon. I love all the different colours, styles and bows you can make with it and I always feel a card is not quite complete without it!)
