To My Deer Friend

Good Morning! I have recently been on a stamp buying binge and have bought loads (and I do mean loads) of new Christmas/Winter themed stamp sets, so I thought I had better get them out and have a play. One of my favourites is this stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas, which you cannot buy over here in the UK, so I have to order them from their store in America. Only problem with that is if I buy more than one stamp set at a time, I will get charged an obscene amount on import tax and fees so it's taking me a while to get all the ones I want. Luckily they don't take too long to arrive!

This cute set is called Nice List and as soon as I saw it I had to order it. Love these cute little reindeer! I used an old Stampin' Up patterned paper pack and I am very slowly coming to the end of this one. Shame as I loved the colours in this one, but I need to clear up some of my old stash as I have far too many patterned papers really!

This card is also for
Sweet Stampin' Challenge Use Your Favourite Christmas Colour (I love the icy colours of aqua, white and silver!)

Polkadoodles Challenge - Christmas or Winter

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from Polkadoodles. This week our challenge is Christmas or Winter. I used another of the gorgeous images from the Octavia Frosted Winter Collection along with a sentiment and some of the patterned papers as well.

This image, Ice Queen Unicorn, is the reason I got this collection. I just love it! I went with the colour scheme of some of the patterned papers in aqua and purple. Love the iciness feel they give to the card! perfect for this gorgeous image all wrapped up to play outside in the snow with her unicorn friend!

I tried to colour an icy ground, but it ended up being too aqua green, so to hide it I used some of my sparkle texture paste over the top and it worked brilliantly! You can still see the colour but not so much!

Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration Post - Autumn Rose

Good Morning and welcome to another DT inspiration post from me for Ching-Chou Kuik. This week the DT were challenged to use yellow, orange or both on their projects. Not colours I would usually use to be honest (I tend to use yellow for summer cards and orange for Hallowe'en but rarely do I use them otherwise), but with this image those colours work really well.

I used Autumn Rose and added touches of brown to balance out the orange and yellow. I used some old patterned papers from Stampin' Up that were from an Autumn themed set really and they worked perfectly!

Faery Ink Inspiration Post - Roxie Foxy Steampunk Fae

Good morning and welcome to another inspiration post from me for Faery Ink. This time I have gone a bit steampunk and used the gorgeous Roxie Foxy Steampunk Fae and the Steampunk Sentiment which were an extra bonus in the Steampunk Party Pack.

I love steampunk images but the style of making steampunk cards just doesn't come naturally to me. I tend to use colours that are a bit brighter than steampunk "should" be, but hey that's my creative licence right?! I also rarely have any steampunk themed papers so I had a hunt for some when making this card and came up with these geometric patterned ones which I think actually work quite well.

This card is also for

Stamps: Roxie Foxy Steampunk Fae from Faery Ink

Papers: Bermuda Bay, Soft Suede, Summer Starfruit (Retired) & Eastern Elegance DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Super Smooth Card from That Craft Place

Good Morning and welcome to  my DT post for the new challenge from the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration and Challenge blog. This month our challenge is for you to create a Christmas or Winter project. Here is my Autumn Blessing in red, green and white. I used some really old patterned papers from Stampin' Up on this one as well and finally used up all the decent sized pieces so threw the scraps away. Good Morning and welcome to a new DT post from me. I applied for and was invited to join the Polkadoodles Design Team and today is officially my first post for them! I am so excited to be part of this team. I love the images that Nikky draws and the collections are just full of gorgeous papers, fabulous sentiments and lots of other pretties too, so the value of the collections is just brilliant.

For my first DT project I used the Octavia Frosted Winter Collection for this week's challenge of White with a hint of colour, although mine is a little more than a hint of colour as I used one of the Frosted Lands background images for my sky. I also used another patterned paper, the flowers and a sentiment from the collection. The image I have used is Bear Hugs, which you can buy separately too.

I used some very pale colours on my image and then added some Fluffy Stuff to her hat and boots' trim and some sparkle texture paste for the snow. A simple card, but I love how it came out!

Whimsy Stamps November Release Day 2 - Beary Cute Bears Mix and Match

Good Morning and welcome to my first new release post for Whimsy Stamps this month. I used the adorable Beary Cute Bears Mix and Match by Tracy Wray, which has very similar images to the Beary Cute Bears, but the elements are separated so you can mix and match them about!

I used the bears, hat and Christmas tree on my card and made a snowy landscape scene. I probably should have printed them a bit smaller as they are a little on the large side, but I didn't really check the sizes properly! Oops! Will have another go at some point with smaller bears!

This card is also for

I decided to go with a slightly more traditional card this time and used the Penguin Three Kings image. My mother in law will want this one to send to her friends, so I made it a little larger than normal.

I did colour the image before deciding on colours for the card and found it really hard to match the patterned papers to the coloured image! Note to self: check on patterned papers first before colouring!
