Lili's Birthday Card

My last card from the weekend should not be too late! This one is for Inky Chicks Challenge #4 to make a Mother's Day or birthday card, Sketch Saturday's Challenge #247, Lovefest Challenge H to use the colour inspiration below for your card (I went with Riding Hood Red, Taken With Teal, Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake for my colours) and for Lili of the Valley's 9th Birthday Competition and Blog Hop. I'm actually popping up to their store on Saturday for their birthday celebrations and hope to bump into my friend Melanie who is also going up there (I say pop up - it's a 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive for me!)

And here's my card, using one of my new Romance stamps.

Late Birthday Wishes

Another late blogged card from Sunday's crafting session. This one is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #4 for February and Lovefest Challenge J, also hosted by Verve Stamps, to use their signature colours of aqua and brown with either pink or yellow. Of course I chose pink! I have this gorgeous pad of First Edition Papers all in brown, aqua and pink so I pulled out some pretty sheets and came up with this fairly quick and simple card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Tag Time, Making A Statement both from Verve Stamps

Papers: Pool Party, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla all from SU, Summer Breeze Patterned Papers from First Edition

Inks: Pretty in Pink from SU

Accessories: Ribbon, buttons and gems all from my stash, Die-Namics Double Scallop Border Die from MFT, Curvy Bookplate Die from Verve Stamps

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

So behind in my blogging

I made a few cards on Sunday but never had time to blog them as I had a huge pile of marking to do for school. My intention was to do them on Monday but after my Zumba class I didn't have the energy, so I was going to do them on Tuesday. But after my second Zumba class of the week, I still didn't feel like it. I finally have felt like doing it today, so here's the first one! I'm probably very late for the challenges I made them for but never mind!

This first card is for Just Add Ink's Challenge #154 to make a pop up card, which I haven't done in years, so went with a very simple box and spiral pop up inside. I used the colours from Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #240, which turned out to be a gorgeous colour combo and for Lovefest Challenge G to make an encouraging card. My close friend lost her Grandad at the weekend, so this card is for her to let her know that I'm always there for her.

This is the front.

And here's a very simple looking inside.

Recipe:

Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Because I Care (Retired) both from SU

Papers: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Basic Grey, Brights DSP Stack  Neutrals DSP Stack all from SU

Accessories: Window Frames Collection Dies, Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon (Retired), Adorning Accents Dies all from SU

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Pinwheels and sunshine!

Can you believe it actually started snowing here in the UK again today?! Where has the sunshine gone? Admittedly we only got a day of sun and it was still very cold, but the snow should have gone completely by now and we should be heading to warmer weather, but today is so bitterly cold!

So to brighten up my day I made a bright, fun card for Make It Monday's Challenge #104 to make some handmade pinwheels (I found an old stencil/cutting template, so drew round that for mine!), Lovefest Challenge F to be inspired by the photo below, Cupcake Crafts Challenge #230 to use lace, doilies and twine and for Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge #281 for the sketch, although I did veer slightly from it as my doily dies were a bit bigger than they should have been to fit the sketch perfectly.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Simple Sunflower, Polka Dot Basics both from PTI

Papers: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White all from SU

Inks: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight both from SU

Accessories: Rick Rack Die, Doily Details Dies, Framed Out #4 Die, Simple Sunflower Die, Harvest Gold Felt all from PTI, Pinwheels Template from ?, Buttons from stash, Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Black Glitter Felt from Hobbycraft, Lace from stash

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by.

CAS Trio

Now CAS is definitely not my style, but I did have lots of fun making this cute little set of cards. I used Inkspirational's Challenge #8 as my starting point and started off doing the apple card first, but as that stamp set is in the same Tim Holtz folder as the other two, I thought I would make some of those as well to make a cute little gift set of 4 x 4 inch cards. This one also fits Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #257 to make a CAS card.

Here's my apple card.

Here's the Strawberry card.

Here's the Cherries card.

And here's the trio all together!

Recipe:

Stamps: Fruit Fusion: Apple, Fruit Fusion: Berry, Fruit Fusion: Cherries all from PTI, Frame It from Waltzing Mouse Stamps

Papers: Old Olive, Real Red, Whisper White all from SU

Inks: Old Olive, Real Red, Basic Black all from SU

Accessories: Fruit Fusion: Apple Die, Fruit Fusion: Berry Die, Fruit Fusion: Cherries Die all from PTI

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

A Boyish Birthday

When I saw these colours for the ColourQ challenge #177 I was a bit stumped. They are very boyish colours to me, but I just didn't really know what to do with them. Then I saw the challenge for A Passion for Papertrey to use more than one font and I just knew straight away that I had to make a card with lots of sentiments in all the colours.

I used the sketch from SC424 and came up with this!

Recipe:

Stamps: Make A Wish, Make A Wish Additions, Birthday Bash Sentiments, Wishing You all from PTI

Papers: Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Whisper White all from SU

Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake all from SU

Accessories: Pinking Shears Border Die from PTI

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Easter Bunny

This card is for Friday MashUp's Challenge #98 to use the sketch below with a bunny image. I don't have many bunny stamps, so I pulled out my Scrambled Egg stamps and dies and came up with this cutie! I also used the colours from CC414 to use Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip and Crumb Cake and for Lovefest Challenge E to use die cuts. That bit was easy as I use die cuts on most of my cards!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Scrambled Eggs, Daydreamer, Background Basics: Argyle all from PTI

Papers: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette all from SU

Inks: Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake all from SU

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Labels Framelits from SU, Buttons from stash, Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Egg Die, Scrambled Egg Dies both from PTI, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug

And that's all form this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs and Kisses

My last card of today is one of my faves! This card is for Saturated Canary's Challenge #37 Love, F4A156 to use your favourite colours (mine at the minute are definitely any shade of pink with Pool Party) and for Lovefest Challenge D to use a fancy fold. Ok mine's not overly fancy, just an easel card, but it counts right?!

Recipe:

Stamps: Hugs n Kisses Digi Stamp from Saturated Canary, Hearts A Flutter from SU, Tag Its #11, Sending You both from PTI

Papers: Pool Party, Primrose Petals, Very Vanilla, More Amore DSP all from SU, Neenah Solar Crest

Accessories: Sycamore Street ribbon and Button Pack, Hearts A Flutter Framelit Dies both from SU, Large Frame Frilly #5 from Go Kreate, Paper Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, Paper Tulips from Magnolia

Glittering Aurora

I haven't done a mermaid card for a little while so thought I would pull out my lovely Aurora stamp for a few challenges! This card is for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #246, Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge Anything Goes (I also won a prize at their release party through Facebook last night too - woot!) and for Lovefest Challenge C to use Bling. I used some Stickles glitter and some Glitter Dome from Crystal Stickers that I found in my embellishments drawer!

And here's my card.

Daisy, Daisy...

I bought myself a new daisy flower topper die set from Spellbinders this week and pulled it out for a couple of fun cards today!

This first card is for the sketch for Viva La Verve's challenge #3 for February. I pulled out some random patterned paper and matched the colours to it and I love these 2 tone bright daisies!

Poppy Tilda

I nipped over to Sir Stampalot's yesterday to get myself their exclusive Poppy Tilda designed by Sir Stampalot, which is just adorable! I loved colouring her up (although I still need to get the highlights right on black hair! Gonna have to practice that one a bit more!) This card is for Marvelous Magnolia's Challenge #14 to use red and for Designed To Color's Challenge #9 for the sketch which I stretched out to fit a square card.

And here she is...

Wagon Jumping!

Thought I would jump on the latest bandwagon craze and make one of these shadow boxes using the new More Amore DSP and Hearts A Flutter stamp sets that seem to be flooding the crafting world at the minute. I happened to be out and about doing some crafty shopping yesterday and picked up this 8x8 inches shadow box for £6 from The Range (they also do some smaller 6x6 ones, so might go back and get some more to make a set!).

I'm going to enter this one into Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #256 An Eye for Detail, which I think I have met! There's lots of details in this one! Just now need my OH to put a nail in the wall so I can hang it up! I totally loved making this shadow box, although it did take me about 3-4 hours as I was just so indecisive about what to put where! Got there in the end though!

Recipe:

Stamps: Hearts A Flutter from SU

Papers: Real Red, Pool Party, Basic Black Whisper White, More Amore DSP all from SU

Inks: Real Red, Primrose Petals, Pool Party all from SU

Accessories: Hearts A Flutter Framelits, Vanilla Flower Trim, Artisan Embellishment Kit, Sycamore Street Ribbon, Real Red Taffeta Ribbon (Retired), Very Vanilla 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon, Whisper White Baker's Twine, Brights Buttons

Vintage-y Hexagons

This card is for Color Throwdown's Challenge #229 to use the gorgeous colour combo below and for Splitcoast Stampers' Lovefest Challenge A, celebrating the 10 member companies they have. For this challenge you had to use things that spelt out LOVE, so I have Leaves & Layers, Ovals, Vintage style & Vintage Faceted Button and Embossing Folder - my gorgeous honeycomb one again (have to be careful putting it through with DSP though as it actually cut through a bit of it - must have had the wrong plates setting on my Big Shot for it!).

And here's my card.

A Big Bunch of Tulips!

This week's Inkspirational Challenge #7 was to be inspired by the photo below. I took the idea of a brightly coloured bunch of flowers and came up with this jar of tulips! Love how bright this one came out!

And here's my card.

Little Birdies

A nice quick and simple card I made this morning for The Sweet Stop's Sketch #198 with  twist of using birds and/bees this week and for Play Date Café's Challenge #169 to use these pretty colours, which I interpreted as Blushing Bride, Certainly Celery and Baja Breeze. I quickly pulled out an old favourite, Little Bitty Bird, for this one.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Little Bitty Bird, Little Bitty Bird Additions, Turning A New Leaf, Beautiful Blooms II all from PTI

Papers: Blushing Bride (Retired), Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Ski Slope DSP (Retired), In Color 2010-12 DSP Stack (Retired) all from SU

Accessories: Finishing Touches Edgelits from SU

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Hard colour combo???

Not really as I kept it very simple. This card is for Just Add Inks' Challenge #154 and some of the girls on their DT found this colour combo hard, so I knew I had to do more of a CAS/simpler card. I used the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #239, which was a nice, clean sketch without too many layers. This card is also for Friday MashUp's Challenge #97 to use texture and markers. I pulled out my new Honeycomb embossing folder (just love this one!) and inked up my new SAB sentiment using the same colour markers. Easy peasy!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Vintage Verses both from SU

Papers: So Saffron, Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Subtles DSP Stack, In Colors 2012-14 DSP Stack all from SU

Inks: Midnight Muse, So Saffron markers both from SU

Accessories: Honeycomb Embossing Folder, Delicate Doilies Die, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Subtles Buttons, Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon all from SU.

And that's all from this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Yet another Valentine...

I *think* this is the last Valentine's/love card I will be making, especially as I only send the one. It's not traditional over here in the UK to send cards to everyone you love, only really to your partner, so all the other ones I have made I'll probably send as just because cards.

Anyways...this card is for La-La Land's Love Is All Around Challenge, Mojo Monday Challenge #280, Dutch Dare's Challenge #203 Be Mine and Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use hearts and flowers.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sweetheart Marci from La-La Land Crafts, Itty Bitty Banners, Hearts A Flutter both from SU

Papers: Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Sending Love Speciality DSP (Retired) all from SU, Neenah Solar Crest

Inks: Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Chocolate Chip all from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Bitty Banner Framelits, Hearts A Flutter Framelits, Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon (Retired) all from SU, Hearts Border Die from PTI, Madera Corner Die from Memory Box, Stardust Stickles, Button from stash, Foam Pink Rose from Hobbycraft, Paper Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts

New Stuff!

My Stampin' Up parcel arrived on Monday with lots of new goodies in, mostly from the new mini seasonal catalogue, although it's not actually that mini! I got lots of girlie stuff this time round, including the gorgeous Papillon Potpourri and matching punch, the beautiful Stippled Blossoms and I got the smaller butterfly punch to match the same butterfly set too!

I used the sketch from SC423 and these gorgeous colours from ColourQ's Challenge #176.

And here's my card - quite a simple one, but I'm going to make a set of these using these stamp sets for my mother as her mother's day present, so not my usual card that I would send.

Recipe:

Stamps: Stippled Blossoms, Papillon Potpourri, Perfect Punches all from SU

Papers: Primrose Petals, Lucky Limeade, Whisper White, In Colors 2012-14 DSP all from SU

Inks: Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Lucky Limeade all from SU

Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon, Scalloped Oval Punch, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch all from SU

Heart Melting...

Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #165 this week was Love Is In The Air and I knew I didn't have any of their traditionally Valentine's/romance stamps, but after going through my pile of their stamps, I found Izzy Icecream and her sentiment was just perfect for a Valentine's card! I also used the sketch from Cupcake Crafts' Challenge #229 for this one.

Recipe:

Stamps: Izzy Icecream from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Papers: Primrose Petals, Chocolate Chip both from SU, Neenah Solar Crest, Love Letters Patterned Papers from First Edition

Inks: Primrose Petals from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

And that's all from this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Baking Some Sweetness

Just a fun little card I made today for Cupcake Crafts Challenge #228 to use yellow and grey and for La-La Land Crafts' Challenge Sweet Treats. This is the only La-La Land Crafts stamp I have involving food, but I do love this little image!

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Love is in the Air...

It's almost Valentine's Day so I've been making a few love cards the past couple of weeks without them being actual Valentine's cards, but today's offering is really more of a Valentine's card this time.

And because of the time of year, there's a ton of challenges all Valentine's/love related so this card meets many of them! This is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #197, Inky Chicks Challenge #3 to make a Valentine's/Anniversary card, Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #255 Love Struck, Marvelous Magnolia's Challenge #13 to use hearts and Totally Tilda's Challenge #65 to use a Valentine's Tilda (wonder if Valentine's Edwin will count as well?) and finally for Color Throwdown's Challenge #228 to use these gorgeous colours!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Background Basics: Hearts, Heart-2-Heart #11 both from PTI, Loving Edwin from Magnolia

Papers: Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla all from SU

Inks: Riding Hood Red, Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette all from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers
Accessories: Heart Border Die from PTI, Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon (Retired) from SU
And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Another Starry Day

I just have this thing about using stars for boys'/men's cards at the minute and love this one mixed with some chevrons as well!

This card is for Make It Monday's Challenge #103 The Diecut Double Up, to use a die cut within a die cut. I went for the easy option and cut a circle out from one of the Mat Stack #6 die cuts so my sentiment was peeking through the hole. This is also for F4A155 to use blues and browns. Perfect colours for a quick boy card!

Recipe:

Stamps: Star Prints, Background Basics: Chevrons both from PTI

Papers: Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla all from SU

Inks: Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Midnight Muse, Soft Suede all from SU

Accessories: Mat Stack #6 Die Collection from PTI, Circle Nestabilities, Card Candi from Craftwork Cards

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

No Butterflies???

I just love this sentiment in this now retired Stampin' Up set and it fit the sketch challenge perfectly.

This card is for Mojo Monday's Sketch Challenge #279 and Inkspirational's Challenge #6 to use these gorgeous colours. They look so regal and elegant together, don't you think?

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly (Retired) from SU

Papers: Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum Prints DSP (Retired), Bella Bleu DSP (Retired) all from SU

Inks: Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Perfect Plum all from SU

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Life is Wonderful...

Life's not wonderful at the moment (far too busy for that!), but it's pretty good! I bought this cute little image from Lili of the Valley a couple of weeks ago and have dying to use it. It just fit this sketch perfectly and thought it would make a great "just because" card!

This card is for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #245, Papertake Weekly's Challenge Anything Goes and for ColourQ's Challenge #175 to use these fab, bright colours!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

All Things Magical and Mythical #119 Featuring Mermaid Birthday Party Treasure from Faery Ink

Good morning everyone and welcome to this week's All Things Magical and Mythical post. I haven't used a Faery Ink image for ages so...
