A Bit of Steampunk

I love the steampunk look, but it's not my usual style. I got some new goodies for Christmas - the steampunk heart cog dies and border die from La-La Land Crafts, so had to put them to good use for this card. I also used my new Silhouette Portrait machine, which I bought myself for Christmas to make the clock at the bottom, although you can hardly see it! I'm entering this card in Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #216 which is titled New! Well I have a few new things on here so I guess they count! I'm also entering it in La-La Land's Contest Challenge # 22 on their Facebook page, which is to use the sketch below.

And here's my Steampunk Marci. I think it's kind of steampunk-y!

Recipe:

Stamps: Top Hat Steampunk Marci digi from La-La Land Crafts, Clockworks from Stampin' Up, Inside & Out: Thank You from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Not Quite Navy (Retired), Soft Suede, Whisper White, Bella Bleu DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Accessories: Steampunk Heart Cogs Dies, Steampunk Border Die both from La-La Land Crafts, Silhouette Studio, Labels 4 from Spellbinders

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Lily Rose says Thanks

Thought I would do something a bit different for the current Marvelous Magnolia's Challenge #58, which is an Anything Goes challenge. Instead using a Tilda stamp, I pulled out this gorgeous Lily Rose the dragon stamp from Magnolia to use as a thank you card for my friend Red, who collects dragons and I know will love it! I'm also entering this card into Papertake Weekly's Challenge Pick of the Year, in which we had to pick a challenge from the last year to (re)do so I picked their Giving Thanks challenge from  November.

And here's my Lily Rose - isn't she just a sweetie?! Went with a bright, funky colour scheme as well as red isn't really a pinky kind of girl, but I know she'll like this one! I kept the embellishments to a minimum as well as I wanted Lily and the banner to take centre-stage as it were.  Love how this one came out!

Recipe:

Stamps: Lily Rose the Dragon, Banner both from Magnolia, Pennant Parade (Retired?), Jack of All Trades (Retired), So Happy For You (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Papers: Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Eastern Elegance DSP all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana, Smoky Slate all from Stampin' Up, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Coastal Cabana Stretch Ruffle Trim from Stampin' Up, Circle Nestabilities, Lacey Circle Nestabilities both from Spellbinders, Buttons from stash, Twine from The Ribbon Reel

Copics Used:
Yellow - y15, Y17, YR23
Red - R17, R27, R29
Aqua on dragon - BG11, BG23, BG34
Aqua on banner - BG10, BG11

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Banner

Just a quick card I made yesterday for ColourQ's Challenge #220 to use the colours below. I completely messed up and used the wrong yellow card - Crushed Curry rather than Summer Starfruit, but nevermind eh?! At least the patterned paper was the correct colour! Must have been in a world of my own when I made this one!

And here's my quick banner card, using one of my new stamps from a while ago that I had to have but actually never got round to using it!

Recipe:

Stamps: Circus Alphabet from Indigo Blu

Papers: Crushed Curry, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, Witches Brew DSP, In Colors 2013-15 DSP Stack all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Coastal Cabana

Accessories: Swiss Dots Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug, Twine from Waltzingmouse Stamps (that you can't see behind all the banners!)

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Jingle Bells

This fortnight's Challenge on the My Besties UK Challenge is called Jingle Bells, so I pulled out my little pack of jingle bells and added a couple to this card, which uses the ever so cute My Besties Along For The Ride digi stamp from Sherri Baldy. It is a fairly big size so doesn't leave much room on my 5x7" card, but I totally love how it turned out! This card is also for My Besties Challenge to create a glitter Christmas project, My Besties Aussie Challenge #13 to make a Christmas card, Scrapbook Stamp Society's Challenge #31 Anything Goes with the option of Christmas and for Papertake Weekly's Challenge to make a Christmas card too! Calendars for 2014

I made some very quick calendars to pop into some of my friends' Christmas cards and I love the simplicity of these. I saw a very similar design on one of the Papertrey Ink's DT a couple of years back and pinned it, so used that as my starting point. I'm entering these into Just Add Ink's Challenge #196 to add your Christmas Project and for Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #215 Quick Christmas - well these were a quick, Christmas gift so I hope that counts!

This is the Real Red version, although I did 10 in the end, 2 of each of the 5 different colours. These were really quick and easy to make - just a few folds to make the bottom stand up and fold down, a bit of stamping, mounted the calendar tabs and voila! All done. I think each one probably took no more than 10 minutes, but I did them production line style!

And here's all of them together.

Recipe:

Stamps: Daydreamer from Papertrey Ink (can't remember which set the sentiment os from so will have a hunt tomorrow when I pull all my crafting stuff back out!)

Papers: Confetti White (Retired), Real Red, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry all  from Stampin' Up

Inks: Real Red, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive all  from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Calendar Tabs from Anita's

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Blue Christmas

I haven't done a Besties card for a couple of weeks now, just simply due to lack of time, but I made sure to fit one in this week so I could enter the Besties Challenge to be inspired by a song - mine is Blue Christmas by Elvis and for My Besties UK Challenge to use blue, silver and white.

And here's my pretty little girl, with lots of snowflakes around her! I added some Liquid Applique as the fur on her hat and dress - I totally love this stuff and my old tube had completely dried up and it took ages to find some more, but I did and this was my first play with it. Have missed using this for snow and fluffy trims!

Not a Christmas Card!

Shock! Horror! I made a card today that isn't a Christmas card! I think I might be almost finished with my Christmas cards. I have posted all the long distance ones and written most of the other hand delivered ones. Just have a couple more to do and then make sure my MIL has all the ones she needs!

This card is for Just Add Ink's Challenge #195 to use this gorgeous soft, subtle colour combo, which I didn't feel would work so well with a Christmas card. I used my new stamping, embossing and die cutting set I bought last week and it's so fabulous with how it all goes so well together! Might be me a couple more of these sets!

Anyway here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Ornate Frame Stamping, Embossing and Die Cutting Set fro Couture Creations, Daydreamer from Papertrey Ink

Papers: So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Soft Sky Prints DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Lots of Snow!

I love looking at snow, especially when it's completely undisturbed - all that pure whiteness covering everything is just simply beautiful, nature as its best. But I don't like driving in it, walking in it, falling down in it and being freezing cold in it. No Thank You! I would much rather watch it fall from the warmth of my house!

Anyway this card is for Charisma Cardz Challenge #48 to use your favourite word - guess what mine is?! LOL This fab little $5 set from Papertrey Ink was just made for this challenge! Love the ombre effect in the text on this one, which I shamelessly CASEd from Dawn McVey!

Recipe:

Stamps: Wonderful Words: Snow from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Bordering Blue (Retired), Midnight Muse, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Midnight Muse, Marina Mist, bashful Blue (Retired), Baja Breeze (Retired), Blue Bayou (Retired), Soft Sky all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Double Loop Border Die from Papertrey Ink, Star Gems from Papermania

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

When I saw ColourQ's Challenge #219 and Papertake Weekly's Challenge to use Christmas Creatures, I just knew I had the perfect stamp to combine the two challenges. I keep this card fairly simple as it's one for my MIL to post, so needs to be kept as flat as possible for the postage, which seems to have gone up again!

Anyway here's my card...

My new Tilda

I have absolutely loads of Tilda stamps so try to limit myself to only buying one or two of the ones I like from every new collection otherwise I wouldn't have anywhere to store them, let alone be able to afford them all! I got these two little cuties last week and just had to ink them up for a couple of challenges this weekend. This card is for Marvelous Magnolia's Challenge #56 Anything Goes, Charisma Cardz Challenge #47 All Distressed and The Ribbon Girl's Christmas Challenge for November.

And here she is...I distressed all the edges and inked them up, but got a bit carried away and you can't really tell what the original colour of the patterned papers were - oh well. I still like it! And a touch of Shabby Blue Frantage for the look of snow!

Glittery Candy Canes

Crafty Little Fairies' Challenge this week is to use candy stripes, so I pulled out my Candy Jar Christmas Fillers set from Waltzing Mouse and combined it with the colour combo from ColourQ's Challenge #218 to come up with this fairly quick and simple card, using my new favourite snowflake set again! I did swap Cool Caribbean out for Pool Party as I don't have any Cool Caribbean and I think it's a close enough match.

And here's my card - love these glittery candy canes!

Scene It Sunday #180 Featuring Fore You from Di's Digi Stamps

Good morning and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday. This week I have used this cute golfing mice image from Di's Digi Stamps, ...
