Picture Perfect Marci

Bunny Zoe's January Challenge, La-La Land Crafts Inspiration and Sweet Stampin's Challenge this week were all to use stitching so I pulled out one of my La-La Land digis that I hadn't used before and some new SU patterned papers that will be available during SAB very soon and used the sketch from Sketch and Stash's Challenge #131.

And here she is. I had major issues with my sewing machine for the stitching. It did not want to stitch just on paper, nor on paper glued onto card. I gave up in the en and just hand stitched my borders on, although this must have taken me 10 times as long as it would have done on the machine. no idea what was going on - maybe it was because I was trying to do zigzag stitching and it just didn't like it!

Stamps: Picture Perfect Marci from La-La Land Crafts

Papers: Pool Party, Basic Black, Sweet Sorbet DSP (available very soon during SAB) all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Oh So Stylish

This week's challenge at The Paper Shelter #141 is called Winter Blues, but I didn't want to make a wintery card, so instead I used some old retired Christmassy themed papers and just used the blue part of the challenge with a touch of red.

This card is also for Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #219 to use lace and pearls (my lace is hidden behind the ribbon and frame but it's just peeking out at the bottom), Sketchy Challenges #65 to use Diane's sketch below and for Papertake Weekly's challenge to use new stash (mine is the new digi stamp, which I bought with my Christmas money, but haven't used her as yet and the frame which is a new download for my Silhouette machine!)

Summertime Swing

Oh I am so glad that the My Besties Challenge has gone to a two week challenge, especially this weekend as I have only Saturday's crafting time. I am at some SU training on Sunday all day and I only get crafting time at the weekends as I am supposed to be doing my masters coursework during any free time I have during the week.

Anyway on to the card. This card is for My Besties Challenge #1 Summer Fun (I think having a play on a swing is definitely a summertime thing!), Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge #32 Anything Goes and for My Besties Aussie Challenge Anything Goes with Butterflies. I found this gorgeous butterfly border in the Silhouette store and knew it would be perfect to frame a card!

Flip Card Thx

This week's challenge at Just Add Ink's #198 is to use the new thinlits dies from Stampin' Up, which luckily I have a set of. I combined this one with Color Throwdown's Challenge #275 to use these colours.

And here's the front of my card. The DSP in the photo looks quite yellow-y, but it's supposed to be Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla I believe.

A Pink Fluttering Thank You

I was in a butterfly mood earlier today so pulled out my Sitting Tilda with Butterfly stamp to use for the Marvelous Magnolia's Challenge #59 to use lace (not sure if you can see mine but it's the pink vertical strip running down the middle), Totally Tilda's Challenge #87 Anything GoesIn The Pink's Challenge Anything Goes and for Viva La Verve's Sketch #2 for January. This sketch worked really well on a slightly bigger 5 x 7 inch card.

And here's my card - I used this gorgeous paper which I found in a box that I bought ages ago from Live & Love Crafts but never used it. It's so pretty and the strip across the bottom looked just like some pretty ribbon so added that on otp of the lace as well. I don't usually bother with those little strips running along the edge of 12x12 sheet but this one was perfect.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sitting Tilda with Butterfly from Magnolia, Mini Blooms from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Pink Pirouette, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card, Vintage Autumn Basics No. II from Maja Design

Dad's Deckchair Dreaming

It' my Dad's 60th birthday in a couple of weeks time so I thought I really should make him a card for it. Totally Gorjuss' Challenge #218 was perfect - to make a man's card, so I used that challenge along with Lili of the Valley's Anything Goes challenge for January and Sketch n Stash's Challenge #130 (I found this sketch after someone left me a comment saying thanks for entering their challenge, which I hadn't done, but I guess the lady was on the DT for a challenge I had done!). I really liked their sketch and thought it worked very well for this card.

My dad's not a particularly fussy person so this sketch was ideal to keep his card fairly simple. My neglected stash on this card is both the patterned paper, which whilst is fairly new from October time I think I have used it maybe once or twice, and the yellow Sizzlits alphabet that I used for the numbers, which was one of my very first big purchases when I started cardmaking about 6-7 years ago. I don't even know what it's called as it's not in the original box either, but in a Ferrero Rocher box!

Recipe:

Stamps: Deckchair Dreaming from Lili of the Valley, Everyday Photo Finishers from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray, Epic Day This and That DSP all from Stampin' Up, Copic X-Press It Blending Card

Inks: Coastal Cabana from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Circles Nestabilities, Spiro Circles from X-Cut, Buttons from Stash, Sizzlits Alphabet

Copics Used:
Teddy - C2, C3, C5, C7
Bird - C2, C3, C5
Chair - E53, E55, BG23
Sky - C00, C1, C2, BG10, BG11, Blender
Grass - YG25, G21, G99

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

A Wintery Birthday

I received some money for Christmas and decided to buy some new digi stamps with it and, whilst hunting around on the internet, came across The Paper Shelter site and fell in love with their digis. They are just gorgeous! I just had to enter their challenge today using one of my new stamps and totally love this one!

This card is for The Paper Shelter's Challenge #140 to make a winter birthday card, Papertake Weekly's Challenge Anything Goes and Crafty Little Fairies Challenge to use kraft (I used Crumb Cake which is Stampin' Up's version of kraft card).

And here's my card using Warm in the Winter...

Yet another colour challenge!

My final colour challenge for today was for Colour Me's Challenge #2 to use Melon Mambo and Marina Mist - loved this one! I just pulled out some pretty papers and stamps and then happened to find some blue felt in an almost exact match to Marina Mist so used that rather than paper for the flowers.

And here's my card...another quick and simple one!

Recipe

Stamps: Mat Stack 5 Collection, Botanical Silhouettes both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Melon Mambo, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Melon Mambo Prints DSP (Retired), Subtles DSP Stack (Retired) all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Melon Mambo, Marina Mist both from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Mat Stack #5 Die, Layerz Mat Stack #5 Die, Medium Scalloped Border Die, Beautiful Blooms Dies #1 all from Papertrey Ink, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Ribbon (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Buttons from stash

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

A Rosie Posie Birthday

ColourQ's Challenge #223 was another puzzling challenge for me. It must be because I haven't done a lot of colour challenges recently so my mojo obviously doesn't want to work with them! LOL After much faffing about and trying out different ideas and stamp sets I finally came up with a fairly CAS (well for me anyway) card!

And here it is...

Recipe:

Stamps: Rosie Posie, Rosie Posie Step 2, Fancy Flourishes, Wonderful Words: Birthday all from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Summer Starfruit, Basic Gray, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up
