The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge - Anything Goes with a Christmas Twist

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge at the Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge. This week it is our monthly Anything Goes challenge with the optional twist of making something Christmassy.

I have used the cute Winter Sisters from Vera Lane Studio, our sponsors this month and went for a traditional colour palette or red, white and green. I made this card reasonably flat so that I have some flat ones to send through the post. I don't like sending fancier ones as they tend to get damaged and cost a fortune to post as well!

This card is also for

Good evening and welcome to my post for the new challenge at the Art by MiRan Facebook group. This week it is our Anything Goes challenge for this month, with the optional extra of adding a die cut. As I use lots of die cuts on my of my cards, this was an easy twist for me.

I have used the gorgeous Fairy Noelle from Mi Ran's Whimsy Stamps line for this card and I just love the idea of a winter fairy, bringing beautiful snow flurries along with her. Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new release over at Alicia Bel. Alicia has released some gorgeous new Christmas and Winter themed digi stamps this month, so please do pop on over to the store and check them all out!

I used the gorgeous Snow Faery for a quick bauble shaped decoration. I totally love how this one came out and will be making some more with some of the other images as Christmas gifts for my friends and work colleagues. I kept this one fairly simple, but did add lots of glitter to the snowflakes and wings, but unfortunately my camera didn't pick that up!

And this is the reverse - quite clean and simple!

One Sweet Challenge Mid Month Inspiration Post

Good afternoon and welcome to my very final post for the One Sweet Challenge blog. In case you were not aware, Lynette has decided to close down the Sweet Pea Stamps store to concentrate on getting her health back and therefore this challenge blog will be closing at the end of the month too. It is a real shame as I love so many of the stamp designers available through Sweet Pea Stamps, but I completely understand that Lynette has to put her health first.

I haven't been part of this DT for long, but I  would like to say a big thank you to Lynette and Aletha for inviting me to join the team and to the rest of the DT for making me so welcome. I wish Lynette lots of health and happiness and I hope to still keep in contact with her and the rest of the team.

Anyway onto my card. This time I have used the adorable Old Maid Bee from Sandra Caldwell - love this cute character! I used bee colours of yellow and black and my hexagon stamps which were gathering a bit of dust in their box! Funny how our tastes change so quickly sometimes. I used to love all things flowery or using just stamping, but now I hardly ever use those stamps since I found Copics and think that is my creative outlet now!

The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge Colour Inspiration Week

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge over at The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge. This week we have a gorgeous Autumnal colour palette for you to use - I thought these colours would work great for a turkey themed Thanksgiving card, but as we don't celebrate it over here in the Uk, I have no images that would work at all.

Instead I went with a cute bear stamp that I found in my box of random stamps! This was also my first attempt at using distress inks without being in one of Tracy Payne's classes! I think he came out ok, but I think he needs a bit more texture on his fur.

Recipe:

Stamps: Popcorn The Bear Thanks A Bunch from Crafter's Companion

Papers: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie Prints DSP (Retired) & Old Olive Prints DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Fabriano Artistico Watercolour Paper

Faery Ink GDT Application Post

Good evening! Faery Ink are having a guest designer call and I just had to apply as I love their images! I love most things fairy, so I can't go wrong with these gorgeous images!

Manda has asked that we share an older project using one of her images. Now this was a bit hard to choose as I have many projects that I love using Faery Ink images, but I'm going to show The Grey Witch, which I entered into the Faery Ink Facebook Challenge Grey Scale with a pop of colour. I had never done this technique before and loved how this one came out!

Manda has also asked that we share a new project for the DT call and I made a Christmas card using the beautiful Gabbie Holibell, one of my recent purchases. This card shows my style easily - lots of layers, lots of die cuts, Copic colouring and some ribbon. It's just missing some flowers, but I didn't think they would fit on this card really with everything else that is on it! It is also way more sparkly in real life too as all the white card is glitter card, but my camera doesn't pick it up so well.

I'm also going to add this card into these challenges:

Unlucky for some, but 13 has always been my lucky number, so let's get started on Manda's 13 questions!
  1. How did you find Faery Ink? Searching for fairy digi stamps on etsy.
  2. What are your top 3 favorite Faery Ink images? Why? (please include the URL to the images in the Faery Ink shopArielle Moon Fairy as I just love her gorgeous long hair; Shyflower Fairy - love her hair too, but she's a very elegant fairy; Gabbie as Alice in Wonderland as Alice is one of my favourite children's books and I love all things Alice as well as all things fairy!
  3. How many projects have you made from Faery Ink images? 10 including today's Christmas card.
  4. What kind of projects do you like to make from Faery Ink images? (cards, art journals, boxes, candles, art for your personal use etc…) Mostly cards, but some 3D art work. I especially love my Spooky Street project.
  5. How many design teams are you currently on? 11, but one is finishing at the end of November.
  6. How many projects do you need to complete each month in order to satisfy your obligations to your other design teams? AliciaBel - 2 per month, One Sweet Challenge - 2 per month, but is the one that is closing at the end of November, Julia Spiri - 2 per month, The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge - 1 per week, Paper Nest Dolls - 2 per month, In The Pink - 2 per month, All Dressed Up - 1 in month A and 2 in month B, Ching-Chou Kuik - 3 per month, Lacy Sunshine - 2 per month, Art by MiRan Facebook team - 2 per month and The Paper Shelter - 2 per month. I also complete other projects as needed such as new releases, birthday blog hops etc.
  7. Would you be open to a long term spot on the team? Hmmm without a doubt, yes!
  8. Is there any month between December 2015 and November 2016 that you will be unavailable to be a guest designer? Not really. With my job as a teacher, every month is busy, but June is the busiest with end of year assessments, reports, parents evenings etc etc
  9. Are you familiar with the WordPress blogging platform? Not anymore. Used to have a wordpress blog when blogger was playing up years ago, but haven't used it for a while. I am pretty savvy with computers though, so shouldn't take me too much to work it all out and I am always willing to ask if I can't do something!
  10. How often do you post on Facebook? Generally every day and I try to post every DT card I make on there too if I can.
  11. Do you participate in groups on Facebook? Yes, probably too many of them according to my BF!
  12. What other social media platforms are you active on? (Please provide links to your profile at each) Pinterest. Not really got into the instagram thing, probably because I don't use my phone to take pictures of my cards - I use a real camera instead to get better pictures than my phone takes!
  13. Is there anything you would like to add? I am the team leader for the Art by MiRan Facebook team and regularly organise a small team, ensuring they are all sticking to the agreed schedule. I organise the progressive challenge and help new members to join in too. I am also taking Alyce Keegan's colouring classes and am striving to constantly improve my colouring, which I think has REALLY improved over the last year or so. Now I am moving on to trying my hand with distress inks! Eek!

Lacy Sunshine Challenge #71 Tic-Tac-Toe

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new Lacy Sunshine Challenge. I don't know if it's me, but it seems like ages since my last Lacy Sunshine challenge. Must dig out my folder and have a play with these gorgeous girls some time very soon!

This fortnight we have a great tic-tac-toe or noughts and crosses (if you're in the UK! :P) board for you to play along with. Simple to use too - simply pick a row, a column or a diagonal line and include all of the elements in that line on your project.

And here's my card using the gorgeous Sparkletini Happy Hour Pin Up. I used the middle and right hand side columns to include die-cuts, sparkle, sentiment, use a digi, ribbon and pattern paper as well as using a hand coloured image and maybe lots of layers (I have 4 or 5 depending on how you count them!)

This card is also for
Di's Digi Designs Challenge Tic-Tac-Toe (I used the middle column of die cut - digi image - hand colouring)
