The Paper Shelter Challenge #262 Make It Digital

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is to use something digital on your project, which could include a digital image, sentiment or patterned papers amongst other digital products.

I used the gorgeous Enchantress for this project and made another page for my art/quotes journal. Not really sure what I am calling this book, but when I find a quote I like I add it to a page, decorate it and add a cute image too! I love this quote as well and really calls out to me about standing up for what you believe in, to fight for what you think is right!

Anyway here it is. I don't make the pages in this journal too bulky as over time I won't be able to close the book, but a little bit of ribbon and a few flat die cuts are perfect!

And here is a close up of my colouring too...

Faery Ink New Release Ophelia Vamp Juice

Good Morning and welcome to my new release post for one of the fabulous new images from Faery Ink this month. For those of you who know me, you will know that I love all things supernatural, with vampires and shapeshifters being my fave creatures. I have loved vampires ever since I discovered The Lost Boys in the summer that I was 12! My old friend Nicola and I spent most of the summer going through her dad's video collection and The Lost Boys and Rocky Horror Picture Show soon became our favourites. I think we must have watched them every week that we were there that summer! And almost 30 years later, they are both films I love to bits still and watch quite regularly too.

But anyway here's my latest card for Faery Ink using the gorgeous Ophelia Vamp Juice. I used some of my new Hallowe'en goodies for this one mixed with some old patterned papers too. My copics didn't work so well on this one as the heat affected them, but I think she still looks ok.

This card is also for

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps Challenge #346 - Vintage/Distressed

Good Morning and welcome to my final post as a guest designer for Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps for the month of August. I have had lots of fun being part of this DT and the girls are all so lovely and such an inspiration too. Thank you so much to Kim for inviting me and for all the goodies too!

This week's challenge is to make a vintage or distressed project. I used one of my new stamps, Icy Fairy, that was on offer a couple of Fridays ago and made a distressed Christmas card. Art by MiRan Sponsors Passionate Paper Creations

Good Morning and welcome to an extra DT post from me for Art by MiRan. This weekend Art by MiRan are sponsoring the Facebook group Passionate Paper Creations run by the lovely Rhea Weigand, who is an amazing colourist! If you are not a member of the group, do pop on over there for heaps of colouring tips, ideas and inspiration as well as popping in to the Art by MiRan group for all your Art by MiRan inspirations too.

There is a colouring contest going on this weekend using this gorgeous image, Asteria, and I had a little play with her too. You can purchase her for 50% off this weekend only!

And here is my version...I loved the background that MiRan had created in her digital sample and tried to use a similar effect with my Copics, using my blender pen to pick up the colour and mix it all together. Her hair is just gorgeous but my pens were really playing up (I think I have been using them a bit too much recently!) so they didn't quite flick the way I wanted but hopefully it all looks ok!

Recipe:

Papers: Bermuda Bay & Smoky Slate both from Stampin' Up, Tiny Miracles Patterned Papers from Lemoncraft, Super Smooth Card from That Craft Place

Accessories: Strawberry Slush Baker's Twine (Retired), Silver Ribbon & Bermuda Bay Ribbon all from Stampin' Up, Starburst Die from Joanna Sheen, Star Garland CR12780 from Marianne Designs, Straws from eBay

Kit & Clowder Monthly Classes

Whilst I have been on holiday for the last few weeks from school, I have been trying to catch up with my monthly Create & Learn classes from Kit & Clowder as I am almost a whole year behind! How bad is that?! I do intend on doing them every month, but then forget and do all my DT stuff and never get round to doing these, let alone doing the skin and clothing classes, which I really need to finish off as well!

Anyway, here are September, October and November classes from 2015 as well as the current class for August 2016. Thought I would at least get this month's done and in the monthly competition for once!

September's...using an image from Mo's Digital Pencil.

October's...using an image from Faery Ink

November's... using an image from Tiddly Inks

And finally August's... using an image from La-La Land Crafts

These colourings are also for

Hope you like them all. I love how they all came out - so different and all used different techniques, some of which  haven't used before.

Art by MiRan Facebook Group August Challenge Anything Goes

Good afternoon and welcome to my DT post for new challenge at the Art by MiRan Facebook group. As always our second challenge of the month is an anything goes challenge, as long as you use an Art by MiRan stamp, which can also include the rubber stamps from Whimsy Stamps. Our optional theme this time is Back to School/School Colours.

My school colours are royal blue, which I don't really like to use on my cards, so instead I used a school themed image and made myself a new pen holder for my desk at work using the gorgeous Box Art Baroque template from Dutch Doobadoo. I used the adorable Bookaholic Kaite and coloured her up in browns with a touch of pink.

And here she is. I kept the box fairly simple using some of my new papers from Anna Marie Designs. I inked all the edges with Crumb Cake and then Chocolate Chip inks for a slightly distressed look.

And here it is all filled in with some random pens. You can't see it, but I added a piece of card as a divider in the middle as all my pens slid down when I added them. This held them up a lot better.

Faery Ink New Release Ophelia in Wonderland as The Queen of Hearts

Good afternoon and welcome to another DT post from me for Faery Ink. The new release this week is Ophelia in Wonderland as The Queen of Hearts. She is absolutely stunning and I just love her!

I decided to make a shadow box for something different this time, using a shadow box kit from Scrapiniec, available from Noor Design UK. I painted it using black and white gesso before decorating the inside with lots of heart papers and die cuts and then added some roses in each bottom corner. I also added a bow and some more hearts on the outside corners and covered all the hearts with red Stickles. I love how this one came out and will definitely be making another one!

And here is a close up of  my colouring too...

I used the gorgeous Tabitha for my card, an old stamp set, but one of my faves as she is just such a cutie! I decided on a different colour combo for a change and love this bright yellow and teal one! I do love my pink, but tend to get in a rut by using it all the time, so it's good to break out and try something different now and then!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #260 Birthday Wishes

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. We have been away having a summer break, so I hope you have all had a lovely time crafting away. I know I did as well a visiting London to do a bit of touristing, shopping and seeing The Lion King! It was absolutely amazing, although the trip cost me a fortune. I love London, but if I lived there I would be either very fit from all the walking everywhere or skint as it costs so much! LOL

Anyway, onto the card and challenge. this week we are challenging you to create a project celebrating birthday wishes! Nice and easy one I think!

I used the gorgeous Holiday Time! for my card. I wish I had lived in the 1960s and been part of the hippie movement. Love the clothes and I would have loved an original Beetle, not the new ones. They're just not the same, but I don't want an old one now as they don't have all the mod cons that my Mazda has! LOL

I created a faux step card for this one for something different to do.

And here is a side view so you can see the folds a bit better...

Faery Ink One Day Fae Giveaway

Good Morning and welcome to my DT post for the new One Day Fae Giveaway from Faery Ink. This month's digi stamp, Arielle & The Will O' The Wisps, is just gorgeous. There used to be a cartoon in the UK when I was a kid called Willo The Wisp and I loved it. It was all about a fairy and some creatures living in the woods and was narrated by Willo. Here is a link to the first episode if you want a look!

Anyway onto my card. I thought I would use Alyce Keegan's May Create & Learn class for this image as I cannot draw trees for the live of me and I really wanted her to be in the woods. Oh well she still looks fabulous in the nighttime sky! Loved this technique, although it drained a lot of my Copics colouring it all!

As the background has hints of pink and purple in it, I went with a pink and purple scheme using this new colour card from Stampin' Up. Might be one of my newest faves! Shame they only release them for 2 years at a time!

The East Wind Challenge #61 Paper Piecing

Good Morning and welcome to my new DT post for the new challenge from The East Wind. This fortnight our challenge is for you to use paper piecing on your project. In case you are not sure all that means is that part of your image should be stamped onto patterned paper, cut out and added to your image.

To do mine with a digi stamp (which I have never done before), I printed the Diva Lisa You image onto paper first, then cut a piece of patterned paper slightly bigger than the area I wanted to be paper pieced and attached it with double sided tape before printing it on the same sheet again. I just had to peel off the patterned paper, cut it out and add it to my image which has been printed onto card. Love that she has a dotty coat!

Good afternoon and welcome to my final post for this week's new releases from Kraftin' kimmie Stamps. I saved the best one for last! This one is my namesake, Vanessa Vampire, and she is just gorgeous.

I created a box card for her so I could create a little haunted house/graveyard scene with her and she has turned out brilliantly, I think!

And a view from the side so you can see all the haunted house and ghosts die cuts a bit better.
