Character Cards Challenges

Just a few cards using characters for a change instead of the usual flower/cupcakes/butterflies images I tend to use!

This first one is for Just Magnolia #68 for the sketch, CC102 to use Real Red, Basic Black and Gold and for Just Add Ink's #30 to use wheels, either wheels on something or the SU sheel stamps. I went for the wheel stamps! And I actually decorated the inside of this one as well. I always try to if the base colour of the card is dark, so I added a layer of red, then gold then white and ran the same wheel across the white in Real Red.

Recipe:

Stamps: Spanish Tilda from Magnolia, So Swirly wheel from SU, Mega Mixed Messages from PTI

Papers: Basic Black, Real Red, Copic White, Gold Pearlescent, October Afternoon DSP

Inks: Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Black satin ribbon from stash, flowers from stash, Icicle Stickles

My next one is for Stacey's Curtain Call #43 to use Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. I just couldn't get the idea of oranges or basketballs out of my head when I read this combo and then saw my Dylan stamp in my stamps folder and knew what I had to do! I am a bit short on the Kiwi Kiss but I think I used enough to just count! I used Mojo #56 for the layout as well.

Recipe:

Stamps: Dylan and sentiment from Roll Call from The Greeting Farm, Sanded from SU

Papers: Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, Copics White

Inks: Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip marker, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Bubbles Embossing Folder, Circle Nestabilities

And my final card is one of my faves so far! This one is for quite a few challenges: Farm Fresh Friday's numbers challenge - use a number on your card, Our Creative Corner's sketch challenge #28, Sweet Stampin's #39 to use your favourite stamp (I love this stamp - she's just so cute and is my current fave Anya) and for CC100 to use Cool Caribbean (which I subbed with Soft Sky), Blush Blossom and Chocolate Chip.

Look closely at the edges of my DSP and you might just see the stitching I did. I finally broke open my mini sewing machine and attempted to stitch the edges of the DSP. The machine was a cheapy £20 one and can only stitch straight stitches. It has sat in my spare bedroom for almost a year and I thought I'd get it out and try it for the first time on this card. I actually quite like it even if my stitches are not quite straight!

Recipe:

Stamps: Fleur Anya, Birthday Celebrations from Clear Art Stamps (for the number), Best Yet and Tropical Party from SU

Papers: Soft Sky, Blush Blossom, Copic White, Pink Paislee's Bayberry Cottage DSP

Inks: Soft Sky, Blush Blossom, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Chocolate Chip ribbon, Blue button from stash, Sewing Machine!!!

And that's all from me folks. Come back and check out my next post on some more practical 3D items I've made!
