Sharing on another Sunday

Just a few more cards to share with you all today.

My first one I absolutely love! This is for Color Throwdown's Challenge #126 to use Early Espresso, Kiwi Kiss, Marina Mist and Old Olive which are colours based on Basic Gray's Marjolaine DSP, which I just so happened to have an unopened pack of sitting on my shelf! This paper is gorgeous and perfect for both men's and women's cards. I used the more male patterns on this one. I also used Viva La Verve's February Sketch #1 and Farm Fresh Friday's Hats Off To You challenge to use a character with a hat and my Skater Ian is perfect for this one!

Recipe:

Stamps: Skater Ian from The Greeting Farm, Signature Greetings from PTI

Papers: Old Olive, Kiwi Kiss (retired) both from SU, Basic Grey's Marjolaine DSP pack, Copics White

Inks: Early Espresso from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon from SU

My next card is for Waltzing Mouse's Sketch #32 and CR84FN13 to use red, turquoise and brown (I did have to add a bit of green as well though) and here's their fab inspiration swatch:

And here's my attempt:

Recipe:

Stamps: Mega Mixed Messages from PTI

Papers: Hawaiian Shores, Stampers Select White, Beautiful Blooms Patterned Papers all from PTI, Close To Cocoa (retired) from SU

Inks: Hawaiian Shores from PTI, Close To Cocoa (retired) from SU

Accessories: Beautiful Blooms Dies #3, Hawaiian Shores button both from PTI, Bakers Twine from Martha Stewart, Bon Voaye Foliage Die from Magnolia, Ribbon from stash, Frost White Shimmer Paint from SU

My next one is for Mojo #175 for the sketch and A Passion for Papertrey's Valentine cookies inspiration challenge. I loved the look of those cookies - yummy! I used some of the Simple Valentine DSP that I still had left over from when I won a prize about this time last year from A Passion... and I still haven't gotten round to buying Heart Prints or another Valentine's set from when I did a Valentine challenge for them last year either! Luckily my Around & About Sentiments has enough hearts in it to use. (Hearts are not really my style to be honest!)

Recipe:

Stamps: Around & About Sentiments from PTI

Papers: Hibiscus Burst, Stampers Select White, Simple Valentine Patterned Papers all from PTI, Chocolate Chip from SU

Inks: Hibiscus Burst from PTI, Real Red, Chocolate Chip both from SU

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon (retired) from SU

And my final card is a bit of a cheat! My friend at work saw this owl card from last week on my blog and decided she wanted two - one in the same colours as the one I had already made and one in blue. I had already given the other one to my brother for his birthday next week, so I had to make another green one and then this blue version. I used CC125 to use Close To Cocoa, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery and thought I would enter this in Dana's Papertrey Princess challenge to redo a card from the past. OK it's the not so distant past like it should be, but it still counts right?! (I think I'm going to take the owls off their foam pads though as I don't like the fact that you can see the stamping I did on the card to get their positions in the right place!). I basically used the same layout, but changed the colours slightly, changed the sentiment to a different one from the same set and had 2 little owls instead of one big one.

Recipe:

Stamps: Wise Owl, Out On A Limb both from PTI

Papers: Close To Cocoa (retired), Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Close To Cocoa (retired), Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Early Espresso all from SU, Copics

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Twill from Cuddly Buddly, Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder, Cloud Die from PTI (used to make a stencil and inked through it)

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Sunshine....

Oh how I wish the sun would start shining again - I'm sick and tired of all this cold weather, rain, wind and the possibility of more snow! Blurgh!

Now yellow is not normally a colour of choice for me. I prefer my pinks, but I ended up doing 3 cards this weekend with yellow as a main colour and here they are...

This first one I love! The bright DSP really cheers me up! This is for CC143 to use Summer Sun, Certainly Celery and Old Olive and for Sweet Sunday's sketch #102.

Recipe:

Stamps: Flutterby Friend from PTI

Papers: Summer Sun (retired), Certainly Celery both from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI, DSP from October Afternoon

Inks: Old Olive from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Old Olive Twill (retired) from SU, Oval Nestabilities

My next one is for Just Magnolia's Challenge #91 to use dots (my yellow DSP is all dotty!), Colour Create's Challenge #63 to use lemon, green and white, Papertake Weekly's Sketch #52 and for Just Us Girls Challenge #69 to make a 3D flower. I used the Vintage Vogue rose technique by stamping the flower from VV on the back of my DSP. They didn't quite turn out as well as they have done in the past - wonder if it was because they were made from paper instead of cardstock.

Recipe:

Stamps: Vintage Vogue from SU, Tilda with Big Ribbon from Magnolia, Signature Series: Butterfly from PTI

Papers: Barely Banana (retired), Certainly Celery both from SU, Yellow dotty DSP from Papermania, Green DSP from Kaisercraft, Copics White

Inks: Barely Banana (retired), Certainly Celery from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Nellies Flower Die, Ribbon from stash

My last yellow card was a very quick and simple one for Stamping Royalty's Challenge #56 for the sketch, Just Add Ink's Challenge #53 which was an inspiration picture of some sunflowers (hence the stamp I used) and Paper Pal Arts Challenge #78 to use bows.

Recipe:

Stamps: A Flower For All Seasons, Oval All both from SU

Papers: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, DSP (retired, but I don't know the name as I was given a few sheets by my friend Linda) all from SU

Inks: Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Markers in So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, early Espresso, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red all from SU

Accessories: Chocoalte Chip grosgrain ribbon (retired), Scallop Edge Punch, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch all from SU, Square Nestabilities

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Papertrey Ink January's Blog Hop

This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust!  Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold.

Unfortunately I have a few PTI stamp sets that have only been used a couple of times or haven't been used for a while, so this challenge was great to dig out those older sets that usually get forgotten about when the new ones arrive. I used a gorgeous set, Cupcakes Collection, which has just had a new set of matching dies released which are now on my wishlist now! And here's my offering.

I did use Viva La Verve's January sketch #4 (I think this is the first time in ages I've done all their challenges in one month!), Stacey's Curtain Call #66 to use Lavender Lace, Pretty in Pink, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Bravo Burgundy and for Papertrey Princess Mara's Punch It challenge to use punches.

Recipe:

Stamps: Cupcake Collection from PTI

Papers: Lavender Lace (retired and only scraps left now!), Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Sweet Pea DSP (retired) all from SU, Distressed Dots DSP from PTI

Inks: Lavender Lace, Pretty in Pink, Bravo Burgundy

Accessories: Very Vanilla ribbon, Word Window Punch, Eyelet Border Punch all from SU, Limited Layers 1 3/4" Circles from PTI, Frosted Lace Stickles, Card Candy from Craftworks Cards

Right I'm off to go blog hopping and see all the other gorgeous cards in the PTI Blog Hop! Thanks for stopping by!

Last few cards from this week

I made 3 more cards on Sunday, bringing the total this week to 9! Now that's just too many to be making each week so I've decided to cut down on some of the challenges I do each week. Hopefully, I will still be able to combine the challenges like I try to do, but there's only so many colour and sketch challenges I can make in a week.

My first card is for CR84FN12 to use light pink, lavender and kraft and this is the inspiration photo:

I was a little liberal with the colours as I wanted a purple base and the Lavender Lace pieces I had were not big enough for a card base so I had to use Perfect Plum instead! I also used the sketch from Waltzing Mouse #31 and this one fitted Free For All #46 to use pink, purple and a heart.

Recipe:

Stamps: I {heart} Hearts, Well Scripted both from SU

Papers: Perfect PLum, Crumb Cake, Whisper White all from SU, Pink DSP from heidi Grace Designs, Purple DSP from Basic Grey's Kioshi Collection

Inks: Pretty in Pink, Perfect Plum

Accessories: Pink Lace from Crafts U Love, Purple ribbon from stash

My next card is for SC316 for the sketch and CC306 to use Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy and Pear Pizzazz. I love using this stamp set for tall image panels - it just fits so well. The spotty Baja DSP is from some old retired paper and I finally managed to use the last of those scraps up! I am slowly getting through all this patterned paper I have!

Recipe:

Stamps: Just Believe from SU

Papers: Baja Breeze cs and (retired) DSP, Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz DSP from hostess pack all from SU

Inks: SU Markers in Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze, Bravo Burgundy

Accessories: Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Pear Pizzazz ribbon, Distressing tool all from SU, Brads from stash, Lace from Cuddly Buddly

And my final card is for Our Creative Corner's Three Musketeer's colour challenge to use 3 colours next to each other on the analogous wheel. I used green, turquoise and blue. I also used Sweet Sunday's Sketch #101 and Pam's Papertrey Princess Score It challenge to use scoring in a more creative way than just scoring a card base in half.

Recipe:

Stamps: Mat Stack 2 Colelction from PTI

Papers: Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, Sweet Pea DSP (retired) all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Pacific Point, Old Olive both from SU

Accessories: Mat Stack 2 Die, Medium Scallop Border Die both from PTI, Scor Pal, Old Olive Satinr ibbon from SU, Buttons from Papermania, Butterfly salvaged from a Christmas (store-bought) card!

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Girly and Manly

Work was still a bit tense (to say the least) yesterday after Thursday! So I thought I'd get rid of all thoughts of work and immersed myself into my crafting today and made a couple of girly cards and a couple of more manly cards for a change as well.

This first one is for Just Magnolia's #90 for the sketch (I did miss off the sentiment as I didn't want one :P) and for Colour Create #62 to use blue, pink, grey and white. This is a new colour challenge blog I found this week whilst blurffing. I was looking for some colour challenges that use general colours rather than specific Stampin' Up ones which most of my other colour challenges use, simply because I have a HUGE mountain of DSP I want to use up this year (this is one of my crafting new year's resolutions) and sometimes I just cannot find paper to match the correct SU colours. Using generic colours means I can go with whatever shade I like, rather than always feeling like I HAVE to use the specified colours.

Recipe:

Stamps: Berry Tilda from Magnolia

Papers: Soft Sky, Going Gray both retired from SU, Copics White, Blue DSP from My Mind's Eye, Pink DSP from October Afternoon

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Grey organza ribbon from American Crafts, Oval Nestabilities, Pastel Raspberry Liquid Pearls, Roses from eBay, Vines #3 die from Sizzix

My next girly card is for Farm Fresh Friday's Pop Goes The Challenge, Truly Scrumptious #49 to use brown, pink and green (another new colour challenge for me!) and for The ABC Challenge which this week was M for magical and included a sketch as well. I think my Flutter Anya counts as magical. I just had to use her as I found this gorgeous butterfly DSP in one of my boxes and it fitted the colours perfectly!

Recipe:

Stamps: Just The Ticket, Polka Dot Basics II both from PTI, Flutter Anya from The Greeting Farm

Papers: Mellow Moss, Pixie Pink (both retired), Chocolate Chip all from SU, Copics White, DSP from My Mind's Eye

Inks: Mellow Moss (retired), Chocolate Chip both from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch from SU, Pink Organza Ribbon from stash

My first manly card is for Paper Pal Arts #77 for the sketch and for Melissa's Papertrey Princess Challenge which was to be inspired by this photo:

And this is what I came up with - no chocolate cake in sight though! I used the brown and green for my colours and the leaves and wood for my patterns. I did go off track a bit using an owl, but he fitted with the theme :P Fairly clean and simple - I can't do men's cards at the best of time and they do tend to be less fussy too - you can't really get away with lots of ribbon, glitter and other girly stuff on a man's card can you?!

Recipe:

Stamps: Turning A New Leaf, Wise Owl, Out On A Limb Revised all from PTI

Papers: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla all from SU, Simply Chartreuse from PTI

Inks: Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Kiwi Kiss (retired), all from SU, Versamark, Copics

Accessories: Cream Twill from Cuddly Buddly, Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder (thought I had the woodgrain one, but I haven't!), Circle Nesabilities

And my final card I'm not overly happy with, but here it is anyway. I think I'm going to change the letters on it - it's those I don't like! It's my Dad's birthday on Thursday and he's really difficult to make cards for - more than usual men! He doesn't really have any hobbies other than football and he's had lots of football cards from me now. He's had a few beer ones as well, so I just thought a nice and simple banner card would do. This one started off as the sketch from Just Add Ink's #52, but I did get carried away a bit and added the ribbon to the bottom as I didn't like the empty space! I also used Sweet Stampin's Clear as Mud challenge to use brown and one more colour, Free For All's #48 to use a sentiment repeatedly to create a background and Lee's Papertrey Princess Banner challenge.

Recipe:

Stamps: Make A Wish, Banner Builder both from PTI

Papers: Chocolate Chip, River Rock, Whisper White, Soft Suede DSP from the Neutrals Pack all from SU

Inks: River Rock, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede all from SU

Accessories: Banner Builder Dies from PTI, Top Note Die, River Rock ribbon (retired) both from SU, Buttons from Elzybells, Baker's Twine from Martha Stewart

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Mid Week Stress Relief

I had a crappy day at work today so to cheer myself I decided to make a couple of cards and get rid of all the stress (and after the complaining phone call I made to the jewellers, who phoned me whilst I was at work today (my BF took the call) and threatened to send the watch I ordered back. Shame I ordered it about 4 months ago and I have since bought the same one from Selfridges on my theatre trip to London and this is the first time they have phoned to let me know they had it in stock! Blow them! They're the ones who lost out on a fairly large sale!) But now I'm all stress free and relaxed once again (until the morning that is!)

This first card is for Mojo #174 for the sketch, Color Throwdown #125 to use Pear Pizzazz, Kraft and Blushing Bride, for Stampin' Royalty's #55 to use anything with wings (must remember to link it this week! Forgot last week!) and for Papertake Weekly's Ribbon and Pearls challenge. This colour combo is just gorgeous and will definitely go into my faves collection! My Blushing Bride panel actually has the same flowers as I cut out all over it, but it looked a bit flat so I embossed it and now you can't see them at all LOL

Recipe:

Stamps: Bliss SAB set from SU

Papers: Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Elegant Soiree DSP all from SU

Inks: Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride

Accessories: Extra Large 2 step bird punch (for the leaves), Pear Pizzazz ribbon both from SU, Circle Nestabilities, Textile Texture Embossing Folder, Pearls from Hobbycraft

My other card from tonight is for Stacey's Curtain Call #65 to use Real red, Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White and for old Mojo #86. This is another SAB set. I didn't care much for this one at first, but now I've used it, it really is a sweet one!

Recipe:

Stamps: Sweet Summer SAB set from SU

Papers: Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi DSP, Real Red DSP both from old hostess pack all from SU

Inks: Basic Black ink and marker, Markers in Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Daffodil Delight

Accessories: Pacific Point ribbon (retired), Scallop Edge Punch both from SU, Gems from stash, Frosted Lace Stickles

And that's all for today folks! Thanks for stopping by. See you again on Saturday!

Just a few more from Sunday

I didn't get chance to photograph these ones on Sunday as we had to dash out the door to go and buy a new power pack for my BF's PC that died on Thursday and then when we got back I had to mark 30 writing papers from the SATs tests we did last week and I completely forgot about my cards, so here they are now...

This first one took me almost 2 hours! I watched the whole of The Faculty making it - love that film!! When I saw the sketch for Waltzing Mouse sketch #30 I instantly thought of quilting and that's where the stitching comes in, but I only have embroidery thread in the colour I wanted to use which were the colours from Just Us Girls #67 to use aqua, coral and green so I had to pierce and hand stitch every piece - it took forever! I'm not the best sewer in the world as you can see, but I do like the effect.

Recipe:

Stamps: Punch Bunch SAB set from SU

Papers: Aqua Mist from PTI, Cameo Coral (retired), Whisper White from SU, Lemonade DSP from Basic Gray

Inks: Cameo Coral (retired), SU Markers in Tempting Turquoise and Pear Pizzazz all from SU

Accessories: Aqua rickrack from stash, Scallop Circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch both from SU, Embroidery thread from stash

My next card uses the colour from CR84FN10 to use red, kraft and brown. I love this combo and here's the inspiration picture for you.

This card is also for Our Creative Corner's sketch challenge and for Just Magnolia's #89 to include your favourite things. My fave crafting accessory is definitely ribbon, followed closely by dies, which I've used a few of on here today. I also love springtime, when the flowers are just blooming. I especially love seeing all the tulips growing in the back garden and on the roadsides so I used my Tilda with Tulips to represent my springtime love!

Recipe:

Stamps: Tilda with Tulips from Magnolia, Mega Mixed Messages from PTI

Papers: Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip all from SU, Copics White, DSP from Basic Gray

Inks: Chocolate Chip ink and marker from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Theatre ribbon pack (retired) from SU, Oval Nestabilities, Tilda Old Victorian Lace die from Magnolia, Sizzix Vine die, Flowers from stash, Red Zoomz (like Dew Drops), Victorian Fleur Embossing Folder from Papermania, Modern Label Punch from SU

And my final card is for Farm Fresh Friday's colour challenge to use black, turquoise and one other colour of your own choice. Of course I had to add pink! I also used the sketch from Sweet Sunday's Sketch Challenge #100.

Recipe:

Stamps: Savannah from The Greeting Farm, Flourishes from PTI

Papers: Pink Passion (retired), Basic Black both from SU, Copics White cs, DSP from Daisy Bucket

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics, Pink Passion (retired), Tempting Turquoise both from SU

Accessories: Medium Scallop Border Die from PTI, Circle Netabilities, ribbon from stash (possibly Taylored Expressions but not sure).

And that's all for today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

A few other odds and ends

I made a few other cards this weekend for a load more challenges.

This first one is one I made for my boyfriend for our 14th year anniversary! Wow I can't believe we have been together that long! He completely understands my love of challenges and just rolled his eyes when I told him his card fitted 4 challenges for this week! It is for Mojo #173 for the sketch, Paper Pal Arts Inspiration challenge, CC305 to use Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink and for Free For All #47 to use at least 2 different embossing folders. I used Swiss Dots on the Pretty in Pink panel and D'Vine Swirls on the DSP for a bit of added texture.

Recipe:

Stamps: I {Heart} Hearts from SU, Mat Stack 2 Collection, Signature Series: Flower both from PTI

Papers: Melon Mambo, Cherry Cobbler, Pretty in Pink, Sending Love Speciality DSP (retired) all from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Cherry Cobbler, Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Versamark all from SU

Accessories: Pretty in Pink Satin Ribbon, Heat 'n' Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds glitter all from SU, Mat Stack 2 die from PTI, D'vine Swirls and Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, Brads from Papermania

My next card is for Stampin' Royalty's #54 to use Concord Crush, Marina Mist and Old Olive and for SC315 for the sketch. I thought I'd use some watercolouring on this card, a technique I haven't used in ages, not since I fell in love with my Copics, but I do like the softer tone of watercolouring on this one.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sincere Salutations, Growing Green, Very Vintage Wheel all from SU

Papers: Concord Crush, Marina Mist, Old Olive all from SU

Inks: Concord Crush, Marina Mist, Old Olive all from SU

Accessories: Marina Mist Taffeta ribbon, Scallop Trim Border and Corner Punch, Jewels all from SU

And that's all for today folks. I have got a few more cards, that I did today to upload, but it's too late to take photos in the dark now, so will try and get them done tomorrow

A few Papertrey Princess Challenge Cards

Since I joined the Papertrey Princess challenge group over on the PTI forum a couple of months ago, I have been trying to catch up on all the old challenges. I'm almost there and have nearly caught up with them all. I managed to do a few more today and as always combined them with other challenges.

My first one is for Bethie J's challenge to use something new. Well my PTI parcel arrived yesterday with 5 lovely new stamp sets in, including the beautiful Mat Stack 2 Collection. I just had to make one of these dainty doilies that Maile Belles came up with. Her card using this doily was what really sold me the set! This one is also for A Passion for Papertrey's Out of Your Comfort Zone challenge. I am never happy doing one layer or CAS cards so this fits both of those. I always need to add more - hence the button and pearls!  And it is for Just Add Ink's #51 Monochrome challenge and Papertake Weekly's Cold and Frosty Morning challenge which was to use icy colours - I think these ones fit.

Recipe:

Stamps: Mat Stack 2 Collection from PTI

Papers: Sweet Blush from PTI

Inks: Hibiscus Burst from PTI, Whisper White from SU

Accessories: Hibiscus Burst button from PTI, Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Pearls from Papermania

My next card is for Mariah's Go Vertical challenge, in which we had to put the sentiment on vertically. This is another new set that arrived yesterday - Make A Wish Additions. I didn't get the dies to go with this set though as I thought it would be easy enough to cut round the presents and it is! Saved me some pennies for my next order! This set is fab for making birthday present background papers!

Recipe:

Stamps: Make A Wish Additions, Fillable Frames #10 both from PTI

Papers: Real Red, Daffodil Delight both from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point all from SU

Accessories: Fillable Frames #10 die from PTI, Pacific Point ribbon (retired) from SU

And my final Papertrey Princess challenge card for today is for Belinda's Tag, You're It challenge to make a tag, for Color Throwdown's #124 to use Melon Mambo (I subbed with Raspberry Fizz), Early Espresso and Soft Sky (which I subbed with Spring Rain) and for Viva La Verve sketch #3 for January. I'm not overly happy with this one - it's missing something, but not sure what...

Recipe:

Stamps: Make A Wish, Polka Dot Basics II both from PTI

Papers: Raspberry Fizz, Spring Rain, Stampers Select White all from PTI, Early Espresso from SU

Inks: Raspberry Fizz from PTI, Early Espresso, Bashful Blue from SU

Accessories: Raspberry Fizz polka dot ribbon from PTI, Early Espresso grosgrain ribbon from SU, Metallic Pink Dew Drops, Corner Rounder Punch

And that's all for today folks. Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday's Birthday Cards

I made a few more birthday cards today and thought I'd show them to you!

This first one is for CR84FN10 to use Lavender, Aqua, Yellow and Green and this is the gorgeous inspiration photo for these colours.

This is also for Free For All #43 to make a birthday card and for Joyce's Papertrey Princess challenge to CASE a card from the PTI gallery and make it our own. I've been rearranging all my PTI sets and going through them all has made me find ones I haven't used for ages. I wanted to use my Just The Ticket set (which I've only used once!), so I went through the PTI gallery and found this gorgeous card by Melissa Phillips, which I used as inspiration for my card.

Recipe:

Stamps:  Just The Ticket, Mat Stack #1 Collection both from PTI

Papers: Lemon Tart, Simply Chartreuse, Pretty Pastels DSP all from PTI, Naturals Ivory from SU

My next one is for Farm Fresh Friday's sketch challenge (haven't done one of these challenges for a while!) and for CC304 to use Poppy Parade, White and Grey or Silver. Looking at the card now, I really should have done Anya's hair in black, but nevermind huh?!

Saturday's Birthday Cards

I've been asked by one of my friends at work to make a load of birthday cards for her, so all of mine this weekend are birthday ones - never made so many all in one go before. And OMG has this week been hard getting up early again for work every day. I've been totally shattered all week! I'll soon get back into the swing of things though, but by then it will be time for half term LMAO!

My first card is for Mojo #172 for the sketch, Paper Pal Arts #76 to use Baja Breeze, Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz (gorgeous colour combo too!), Stampin' Royalty's #53 to make a birthday card, Free For All #40 to use desserts and for Papertake Weekly's Anything Goes with a Lace extra challenge.

Recipe:

Stamps: Thankful Accents, Carpe Cupcake, Bithrday Surprise all from Verve

Papers: Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White, Ski Slope DSP (retired) all from SU

Inks: Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze both from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Lace from Cuddly Buddly, Gems from Papermania, Clear Dew Drops, D'vine Swirls Enbossing Folder, Circle Nestabilities, Diamond Stickles

My next card is for SC314 for the sketch, Color Throwdown's #123 to use Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze and Cameo Coral (glad to see the girls are back after their break!) and for Sweet Stampin's Try Something Different challenge. I very rarely use my distressing tool and attempt this kind of aged, vintage look and pull it off, but I really love how this one turned out! I even like Cameo Coral on this one, which is a challenge in itself!

Recipe:

Stamps: Notably Ornate, Well Scripted, Music Notes wheel all from SU

Papers: Cameo Coral (retired), Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Raspberry Tart DSP (retired) all from SU

Inks: Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze, Cameo Coral (retired) all from SU

Accessories: Oval punch, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Distressing Tool, Baja Breeze ribbon (retired) all from SU

My next one is for Verve's January Sketch #2 and for Valerie's Papertrey Princess challenge to only use neutral colours.

Papers: Crumb Cake cs and DSP from the Neutrals pack, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla all from SU

Inks: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake all from SU

Accessories: Very Vanilla ribbon from SU, White Opal Liquid Pearls

My last card for today started off using Waltzing Mouse's sketch #29, but I added more and more to it, so it no longer really looks like the sketch LOL. This is also for Just Add Ink's #50 to use So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Riding Hood Red and Elegant Eggplant and for Pam's Papertrey Princess challenge Huff On It to use markers to colour a stamp, then huff on it to remoisten the ink before stamping.

Recipe:

Stamps: All Booked Up, Round & Round both from PTI

Papers: Pear PIzzazz, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Petals & Paisleys DSP (retired) all from SU

Inks: Elegant Eggplant, SU markers in So Saffron, Riding Hood Red, Pear Pizzazz all from SU

Accessories: Beautiful Blooms Dies #, Mat Stack #3 die, Victorian Lace Border Die all from PTI, Pear Pizzazz ribbon from SU, Buttons and embroidery thread from stash

And that's all for today folks! thanks for stopping by!

Last day of my holiday

I have to go back to work tomorrow for a training day and then the kids start on Wednesday so this is my last official day of my holidays. I do enjoy the holidays and dread going back to work, you know having to get up at the crack of dawn again (or whilst it's still dark like it is at the minute), but I gotta pay those bills and earn some money for all these lovely stamps I keep buying!!!

So these are the last cards for this week and this first one is for Sweet Stampin's Favourite Song challenge. I had a look through my iPod and I really struggled with ideas for translating most of the rock/metal music that I love into cards. I was going to do Welcome to the Jungle by Guns 'n' Roses (it was this song/album that got me into rock music), but to be honest I couldn't be bothered to cut out loads of jungle animals and leaves, so instead I went with Purple Rain by Prince and made a purple card. Prince is one of the few pop musicians I can listen to! I also did this one for Cheryl's Papertrey Princess challenge which was to CASE another princess. I chose this card by Diane as she was the lovely lady who invited me to join the challenge group. I love the layout on this card and it's one I think I'll come back to again.

Recipe:

Stamps: Four of A Kind from PTI (CHA special set)

My next one was a really quick and easy one. This is for Stacey's Curtain Call #63 to use Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke. I also did it for Free For All #43 to make a birthday card and used the sketch from old Mojo #82 to for layout. In my quest to use up some of my patterned paper mountain, I found this paper by October Afternoon and whilst the green is more olive than artichoke, I think I can get away with it. I also managed to use up the last of this ribbon and actually inked up one of the many doilies I've bought and never used. I am slowly getting through some of my stash!

And my final card for today is for a new colour challenge blog I found whilst blurfing yesterday, CR84FN, which is run by Mona Peddleton, whose style I love and this card is for challenge #9 to use yellow, peach and light pink. I love these colours together - they just scream tutti frutti to me!

I used the sketch from Waltzing Mouse's Sketch #28 and this is also for Cheryl's Papertrey Princess challenge to not use a sentiment on a card. Here's what I came up with. (And I used another doily (well half of one) on this card as well!)
