Sweet Thank Yous

Just a couple of thank you cards I made today. I always need thank yous and have 5 to give out tomorrow to say thanks to the teaching assistants and parent who helped us out on our school trip to the British Museum on Friday to see the Ancient Egyptian exhibits. We were over an hour late back, partly due to the coaches picking us up 20 minutes late and partly because it took about 1 1/2 hours to actually get out of London and onto the A1! So I thought just a little thank you card was in order!

This first card is for Kraftin' Kimmie's challenge #148 to use your favourite stamp. At the minute one of my faves is Izzy Ice Cream, but I'm sure I'll have a new fave when I buy some more LOL. I also used one of my fave colour combos - pink and chocolate brown!

My next card is for Make It Monday Challenge #84 to use reflective sentiments and CR84FN64 to use light blue, green and yellow. I don't believe I've ever done a reflective sentiment, although I have done a reflective image in the past, but I had fun doing this one. Turned out to be quite a CAS card for me and it feels naked! LMAO No embellishments except for a little bit of Stickles. ARGH!

And here's my card.

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

A bit more Pumpkin Pie

Lots of colour challenges seem to be using Pumpkin Pie at the minute - must be all the fall colours coming out, although we've not had any leaves turning to their Autumn colours just yet, although the temperature sure has dropped!

Anyway this first card is for La-La Land Crafts Lace and Pearls challenge, although I didn't use any lace, but thought my lacy die cuts would do instead. This uses the colours from Play Date CafĂ©'s Challenge #151 as well.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

My other card is for Mojo Monday's Challenge #260 and CC392 to use Midnight Muse, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze. I can't say I'm happy with this card - I don't like the colours at all. They just didn't work for me. I don't have any Midnight Muse ribbon yet either so used my marker pen to colour some in and it's much darker than the real colour. I'm ordering some tomorrow night so hopefully will have matchy matchy stuff again.

Getting Ready Hallowe'en Yet?

My favourite holiday is soon coming up so I'm now building up my stash for Hallowe'en cards again to send out to everyone!

This first card is for SC404 for the sketch and for SUO Challenge #54 For The Kids. I think this Hallowe'en card will make a perfect card for anyone, but I'm sure my friend's son will love it too!

Recipe:

My next card is for Papertake Weekly's Sketch Challenge #72, Cupcake Crafts Challenge #211 to use a character or something linked to a fairytale, so I used a witch (although I don't think Tilda is an evil witch like the ones you get in fairytales though, do you?!) and for Totally Tilda's Challenge #56 to use their bingo grid to choose your elements. I chose lace, flowers and dry embossing. I did dry emboss my flowers before cutting the petals and scrunching them up a bit - hope that still counts!

And that's all for today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Blue cards

Couldn't come up with a more imaginative title I'm afraid, but these are just a couple of blue cards I made today!

This first one is for Just Add Ink's Challenge #137 for the sketch, Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #143 to use your big shot/die cuts and for Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #220 to use these colours. I wanted to make a quick little butterfly card with this gorgeous sentiment from a retiring hostess set. Our new Stampin' Up catalogue goes live on Monday and I'm trying to write a reasonable wish list for my first order (and by reasonable I mean about £150 worth not the £1000 I usually want to spend with a new catalogue!).

And here's my card anyway.

Recipe:

My next card is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #1 for October and CC394 to use Pacific Point  Not Quite Navy and Sahara Sand. I was stuck with this sketch and colour combo for a while, although I knew I wanted to do them together, then came up with this teenage boy inspiration!

And that's all from this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Fancy a bit of Pumpkin Pie?

Personally I don't like eating Pumpkin Pie, but I do like the colour!

This first card is for Waltzing Mouse's Sketch Challenge #117 and Color Throwdown's Challenge #211 to use these colours. These are so nice together, although I wouldn't have picked them myself at all.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

My next card is for Friday Mash Up's Challenge #78 to use fall leaves and twine, Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #178, F4A136 to use fall leaves and ColourQ's Challenge #156 to use these fab fall colours. When hunting through all my sets I realised that I don't actually have a leaf set other than Turning A New Leaf from PTI, which isn't individual leaves and I couldn't really find any other sets with big enough leaves in for what I wanted to do, so I pulled out my hardly used Tree Tops and came up with this.

And here's my card.

VSN Back To School Challenges M, N, O & P

Last post for the VSN Challenges over on Splitcoast Stampers - be sure to get all your cards uploaded by Monday 10pm EST

Challenge M, hosted by Marg, was to make a card depicting food that children love to eat. I instantly thought of ice cream and how I used to love eating tons of it as a child (OK so not much has changed there!) and used SC401 to come up with these HUGE ice cream!

Recipe:

Challenge N, hosted by Cindy, was to make your own school themed designer paper - You can use designer paper or whatever other embellishments you would like but NO STAMPING! The ONLY item that can be stamped on your card is the SENTIMENT. I made a card for this challenge, but missed out ONE important element - the fact that it was supposed to be a school themed designer paper. Mine isn't so I'm not submitting it for this challenge - oops! Note to self: read the instructions properly!

Challenge O, hosted by Mary, was to choose a row from the homework assignment list and make a card using those elements. I chose numbers, stars and crayons. The only crayons I could find are my watercolour ones, so I used those on my rocket and blended them a bit with my aqua painter, which has gone all funny on the end, so I need to order some more. This one is also for Viva La Verve's Sketch #3 for September.

Recipe:

And the final challenge, Challenge P, hosted by Michelle, was to create a card or project using something that starts with the letters A, B, and C. Mine were A = Apothecary Art Stamp Set, B = Baja Breeze and C = Colouring. This one is also for Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #219 for the sketch.

Recipe:

And that's all the challenges for this VSN. Hope you all had fun browsing at the huge collection of my cards! And I hope you find time to join in some of the challenges!

VSN Back to School Challenges J, K & L

Next lot of challenges for you including mine this time!

Challenge J, hosted by Angie, was to use the colour red. I thought I would use the card I made last weekend for the Sweet Stop Sketch as there was lots of red on it already!

Recipe:
See this post from last week!

Challenge K, hosted by JoAnn, was to make a card that in some way incorporates sand, which could include sanded edges which is what I did. This card wasn't my original for this challenge, but the card I did do I completely made and then glued it all down WITHOUT sanding the edges! Duh! So back to the drawing board for a very quick CAS card, which is SO not me! I also dug out my spritzer to add a speckled, sandy look to it as well.

Recipe:

Challenge L, hosted by ME!, was to use the sketch based on an old style classroom for your card. I made two samples for mine. Such a fun sketch to work with!

And that's all from this post folks! Thanks for stopping by! Still got some more VSN Challenges to come!

VSN Back to School Challenges G, H & I

Next 3 VSN Challenges for you...

Challenge G, hosted by Michelle, was to use anything that sprays to graffiti up your project! I knew immediately what I wanted to do for this one! I don't have many spray inks, but I do have a silver Cosmic Shimmer one that was perfect for this challenge, so I die cut my spider webs dies and used them as a mask for the background and I love how it turned out! I used SC403 for the sketch and F4A135 to use googly eyes as well.

Recipe:

Challenge H, hosted by Lori, was to make a card using the Glitter Window technique. It's been a while since I used this technique, but had lots of fun with it. I used Waltzing Mouse's Sketch #116 and ColourQ's Challenge #155 to use this pretty colour combo.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Challenge I, hosted by Brenda, was to use apples as your inspiration. I so wanted to use my new Resplendent Rectangles Nestabilities for a card and thought they would be great on this one. Aren't they just gorgeous?! Big thanks to Beate for using them on this gorgeous card, which made me go out and buy the set!

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by! More VSN Challenges coming up next!

VSN Back to School Challenges D, E & F

This is the next part of my VSN Challenges from Splitcoast Stampers this weekend.

Challenge D, hosted by Carla, was Phys Ed or PE to us British Teachers and you had to include some sort of physical activity in your card. I haven't done my card for this challenge yet, so will upload it tomorrow when I do it! ETA Done my card now! This one is also for Just Add Ink's Challenge #136 to just add kids and CR84FN63 to use these colours - perfect for a boy's card!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Challenge E, hosted by Alicaz, was to make a bookmark. I combined this one with CC393 to use Lucky Limeade, Primrose Petals and Pink Pirouette. I no longer use bookmarks as I have my beloved Kindle instead (I always said I wouldn't have one as I love the feel and smell of a new paperback, but I would not be without my Kindle now!), so I'll pass this one on to someone who will use it.

Recipe:

Challenge F, hosted by Lori, was to use some type of supply on your card or project that you would find in the classroom. I used one of my cute mini bulldog clips! I use various different types of clips at school but not ones this size :P I used the sketch from Stamping Royalty's Challenge #142 and the colours from Play Date CafĂ©'s Challenge #150 as well.

And here's my card.

VSN Back To School Challenges A, B & C

It's Virtual Stamp Night over on Splitcoast Stampers this weekend and I'm hostessing a challenge later on tonight! But first here's my cards for the first three challenges of the weekend.

Challenge A, hosted by Leslie, was to use some notepaper on your project. Because I was also doing Mojo Monday's Challenge #259 and Color Throwdown's Challenge #210 to use these fab colours, I made my own notepaper so the colours would match.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Challenge B, hosted by Anita, was to create a card with wheels on it and an added bonus was to make a round card, which I also did for Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #235 to make a card which wasn't either a square or rectangle shape. I pulled out my long loved Loads of Love set for this one. I used to use this one all the time, but it's been a bit forgotten of late. Still think it's a cute one though.

Recipe:

And Challenge C, hosted by Barbara, was to use 3R's. That is three different things beginning with R. I went with Red, Ribbon and Roses on mine. This was the first time I used the velvet ribbon from SU as well, despite having it for months and it is a gorgeous soft velvet one. Ties into a bow really easily as well.

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to pop back for all the other VSN challenges this weekend!

Sharing On A Sunday

Just a few mixed cards I made today.

This first one is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #176, Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #234 to make a Christmas card and for Just Add Ink's Challenge #135 to use these colours. I really like red and pink together and the touch of green is just perfect for a Christmas combo that is slightly non-traditional (not that I generally do traditional anyway!)

And here's my card.

 Recipe:

My next card is for Waltzing Mouse's Sketch Challenge #115 and CC391 to use Basic Gray, Chocolate Chip and Gumball Green. Not sure about anyone else, but I'm quite liking the new style Stampin' Up ink pads - they seem a lot juicer than the other ones.

Recipe:

And my final card for today is for Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge #146 which was the sketch. I just randomly picked some patterned papers for this one and came out with this. I do love this Dandy Lion image - she's just such a sweetie!

Recipe:

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to join us for Virtual Stamp Night over on Splitcoast Stampers next weekend. It's going to be full of fun!

Stars 'n' Stripes 'n' Spots

Just a couple more random cards I made today using star, stripes and spots!

This first one is for La-La Land Crafts Challenge to use stars, SC402 for the sketch, Papertake Weekly's Things That Make You Go Awww Challenge and Play Date CafĂ©'s Challenge #149 to use these gorgeous colours, which I translated into Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Calypso Coral. You can't really tell, but my vertical panel is actually covered in stars but as I covered most of it up I added a couple more to the corners as well.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

And my final card for today is for Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #141 to be inspired by all the banner photos, Free for All's Challenge #134 to use your corner rounder punch and for Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #218 to use these colours, which are just perfect for a Hallowe'en card! I made another background paper - this time with dots as I didn't have any that would go with these colours and a single colour just didn't add enough pizazz for my liking!

And here's my card. Looking at it in the photo I think I need to add some twine bows, which I had planned to do then didn't! This card does need something between the banners.

Recipe:

And that's all for today folks! Thanks for stopping by. Next weekend is Virtual Stamp Night over on Splitcoast Stampers and I have a fab challenge lined up! Why don't you come and join us for a weekend full of fabulous challenges!

Thanks TBF#19

I got my new PTI parcel of goodies last week and made a couple of cards using Think Big Favorites #19 - I just love this flourished circle!

This first card is for Mojo Monday Challenge #258 for the sketch, Cupcake Crafts Challenge #209 to do some sewing (hand sewing through several layers of card and ribbon just didn't work so well today!) and for ColourQ's Challenge #154 to use these colours. I was completely unsure about these at first, so opted for an easy design - my fabulous Happy Hexagons set. This seems to be my set of choice when faced with a colour combo I'm not totally comfortable with, but I know I really ought to push myself to do something else for a change. I also got the Hexagons Cover Plate in my goodie box so this time the hexagons are actually spaced out properly!

And here's my card - I really do like this combo!

Recipe:

And my next card is for Friday MashUp's Challenge #76 to use their sketch and the starburst technique - such a fun technique! I also used the colours from Color Throwdown's Challenge #209, which were very autumnal colours, so I went with a general thanks card (I did forget the Chocolate Chip though, hence the quick button additions on the bottom! Oops!)

And here's my card.

SUO cards

Just a couple of Stampin' Up only cards I made this weekend.

This first one is for Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #217 for the sketch and for Stampin' Royalty's Challenge #140 to use these gorgeous colours. I do think this really is one of the best combos I've ever used - I just love the aqua blue with the browns!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

And my next card is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #175. I just had to use my new Googly Ghouls and the googly eyes for this one - just so cute! (This one is not strictly SUO as the nestabilities are not, but everything else is!)
