Steampunk Old Lady

And just when you thought I had finished with my steampunk cards, here I am with another! This one is for the Sweet Pea Stamps Facebook Progressive Challenge and this is part 2's digi for this month's challenge. I think she is just fab! I decided to go for a completely different colour scheme of red and grey this time and think it actually works really well for this image.

Slinky Tart Inspiration Post - Unchained Melody

Good Morning and welcome to my last post for the Slinky Tart Design Team. I have been deliberating for a little while now and have decided to step down from this fab DT just simply because I haven't got enough time to do everything this half term.

The last half term of the school year is always the busiest with end of year reports and assessments (and this year we have an extra set of assessments to trial a new way of assessing the children's progress now the UK government have taken levelling away!), parents evenings and everything else that we teachers have to do, that the general public doesn't realise goes on behind the scenes. Nope, we don't work 9 - 3 and have all the holidays off either! I just need to free up some of my time for school work so am stepping down from a couple of my DT positions.

Anyway on to my card...I have used the fab Unchained Melody for this one and did her in my fave colour combo seeing as it is my final DT card - hot pink and black!

The Outlawz Friday Colouring Challenge Anything Goes

Good Morning and welcome to my post for the new Friday Colouring Challenge from The Outlawz. This week we have our monthly Anything Goes Challenge with an option of making a Christmas project. I don't usually do Christmas this early, but after looking through all the digis on Sweet Pea to find one to use, I found this cute winter dragon, Snowflake Wonder from Lisa Victoria and just had to use him.

The top border on my card does look blurry in the photo but I think that's because I offset the white layer a touch so it looks a bit funny. Looks fine in real life though. LOL

I used an older image today, Rolling By, for a cute card to a friend that I haven't seen for a while. Every time we get together, we go for a meal at Frankie & Benny's and I usually have a burger of some sort and we drink copious amounts of Pepsi Max too, so this image was perfect for a reminder of our meals out.

For me, this challenge was perfect timing, as it was my boyfriend's birthday on Wednesday and, as he plays the guitar, I tend to make him guitar themed cards. I used the funky Jinx from Simply B Stamps for this one and went with a black and blue colour scheme.

All Dressed Up Sponsors C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #312 Christmas with no red or green

Good morning and welcome to an extra post from me for the All Dressed Up team. This week we are sponsoring the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog and the All Dressed Up DT were asked if we wanted to do a GDT post for them! Our challenge was to make a Christmas card, but with no red or green. No problem for me as I don't use traditional Christmas colours that often anyway other than green for Christmas trees.

I used the gorgeous Christmas Girl #2 from the 3 Little Christmas Girls collection from the All Dressed Up store and went with a pink, grey and white colour combo to create a pretty snowy scene.

Reading Is Dreaming With your Eyes Open

At my school, we are having a Year of Reading to try and promote reading a bit more for our children. Lots of them don't necessarily read for enjoyment, so we are having lots of fun competitions and challenges to try and encourage them to read more often. I thought I would make a cute little wall plaque to decorate my reading corner in my classroom for something different to do.

I used the gorgeous Bookworm Fairy from Hannah Lynn for this one. I thought she looked a bit lost in her daydreams with her book reading, so this sentiment went perfectly with her!

Gabbie the Mermaid

This month's Faery Ink Facebook challenge is to create a scene and what better image to use than Gabbie the Mermaid! A fairly easy scene to create as well. I pulled out my Silhouette machine for this one and whilst it cut the fishes, seahorse and shells perfectly, boy did it have a hard time doing the seaweed! These were the best cuts of the bunch and they are far from perfect! I really want to like this machine but it just cannot cut anything with any sort of detail in it! So frustrating as that was what it was bought for! Grr!

I couldn't get my flicks to flick in her hair either! The sand and sea were all done with the stippling technique and I totally love how it all came out!

A Gal With Brains

I like to think I have some brains (I did pass my Master's Degree in Education in December last year, so I hope I have some!), but I'm not sure I fancy the brains this zombie girl has! I was very tempted to colour her up in the same colours as Liv Moor from IZombie, but unfortunately those colours of white skin and white hair don't match the Facebook challenge from Simply B Stamps, which was to use lavender, black and white.

Here's my card, which is more black than anything else, but I do like how it came out! I used the sketch from Aud Sentiments but it felt like something was missing, hence the raven sitting on the side!

This card is also for...

Slinky Tart Inspiration Post - Evilynn

Good Morning and welcome to my inspiration post for Slinky Tart. This week I have chosen to use one of the Spunky tart images - Tamara's sister store to the Slinkies! I just love the sentiment that came with this stamp.

Instead of my usual card, I decided to make a wall hanging instead with Evilynn as the focus! I used a regal colour combo of red and purple as I thought those colours would suit her.

And here it is hanging up - not got a hook for it yet so I looped it round my Copic refill box and you can see some of my old SU stamps in my Ikea cube unit! I have now officially dropped as a demo for Stampin' Up. I managed to do 5 1/2 years mostly as a hobby demo, but I have now lost all interest in their stamps. i will still use their card, ink, ribbon and some patterned papers, but out of the everything in the new catalogue I wanted all of 5 things!

And yet another photo - this is just a little close up of the image.

This wall hanging is also for Crafty Girlz Challenge #2 Anything Goes
