LeAnn's World 101 Inspiration Post For July

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT inspiration post for LeAnn's World 101. This month I chose to use a digi which is definitely more me than anything else, especially during the summer holidays when I have more free time than usual!

This is Bookworm, who I definitely am too! I have always been a reader ever since I could hold a book. I used to spend my pocket money buying a new book each week as a kid, belonged to a book club in school where you bought stamps each week to add up to buying a book, lived my teenage years with my nose in Tolkien and Terry Pratchett before discovering Dracula by Bram Stoker. That book triggered my love of all things supernatural and paranormal and now I tend to read Urban Fantasy books more than anything else. I am now on my 3rd Kindle (one died and one become too full!) and I have more books on there than I think I will ever manage to read in my lifetime (3000+) but if I don't read everyday, even if it's just for 15 minutes or so, I feel lost LOL

Anyway here she is...

Something Else on Saturday #66 featuring Purrfect Day by Heffy Doodle

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. I went a bit mad on buying stamps this month and found this cute set from Heffy Doodle which I had never seen before. I love cats and our cat has a similar cat tree, so I know I will get lots of use out of this set!

i would love to have a huge brood of cats, but I don't think our 10 year old cat would accept any others invading her territory, but once she goes, I will be having a huge collection!

The Paper Shelter Summer Challenge Anything Goes

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT post for this week's challenge from The Paper Shelter. It is our annual Summer challenge, which means it is an Anything Goes challenge. This challenge will last for 4 weeks to give the DT a summer break and it also means that we won't be commenting on your entries this time.

For my card, I used the adorable The Incantation, which is a fairly new release. I love fairies and this one is just gorgeous and was a delight to colour too. I went for a pink and black combo - one of my faves and instead of colouring the background with Copics, I used my pearlescent chalks and I love the softer, shimmer they give to this image. You can't really see in the photo but I also added some sprakle to her wings and the spell smoke!

Recipe:

Stamps: The Incantation from The Paper Shelter, Rosie Fairy from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Papers: Melon Mambo, Basic Black & Pop of Pink DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

Something Else on Saturday #65 Featuring Boba Tea from Mama Elephant

Good morning everyone and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post! It's the first Saturday of my 6 week summer holiday and I am so ready for the break from work!

I bought this cute Boba Tea set when it was first released by Mama Elephant, stamped and coloured it as soon as I got it, but have only just got round to adding the coloured stamps to a card! We don't have the slimline sized card blanks here in the UK (not that I can find anyway), so I made my own and then added a Slimline Marquee Die from Whimsy Stamps over the top of the patterned paper. I also added some other papers in the window cut outs and as I had cut out lots of boba bubbles, I dotted them all over! I love how cute these little animals are!

The Paper Shelter Challenge #436 - Profession or Occupation

Good morning and Happy St Swithin's Day! I only know it's St Swithin's Day today because it is also my birthday, so Happy Birthday to me too! Apparently if it rains today, it will rain for the next 40 days, but if the sun shines instead, it will be sunny for the next 40 days! Come on sun!

Anyway The Paper Shelter's new challenge starts today and this time we want to see your projects showing something or someone related to a profession or occupation!

I went for something a little different for me and chose to use the Number One Hot Dog. Initially I just die cut the words "You're My" but it didn't look right, so I added the rest and I liked it much  better!

Scene It Sunday #5 Featuring Critters on the Savanna from Lawn Fawn

Good morning everyone and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday. I decided to use one of my unused Lawn Fawn stamp sets for this one (I have quite a few...okay lots...of unused stamp sets!) and was really pleased with how this background came out as I don't colour sunsets very often, so it was definitely a learning process for me!

I am trying to add a few more generic themed cards, so not specifically male or female cards to my stash. My mother-in-law always gets her cards form me and she has something crazy like 16 male grandchildren and great-grandchildren, so I need to include a few more to my stash! I think this one fits the bill!

Something Else on Saturday #63 Featuring Cute As ABC from Clearly Besotted

Good morning everyone and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. I'm sharing yet more of my new stamp sets with you all, this time As Cute As ABC Set 1 and Set 2 and As Cute As Can Be. I didn't think I would need another alphabet stamp set when I first saw these, but then I saw all the samples from the DT and knew I had to have them!

I went for a bright, happy birthday card for this one, using one of my DL sized card blanks. I coloured the background with my distress oxide inks and then hand cut all the letters and images once I had coloured them in with my Copics.
