Hallowe'en, Christmas and a random!

I promise these are the very very last Hallowe'en cards I've done and they have now all been posted and will have all hopefully arrived in time for Hallowe'en tomorrow!

This first one is for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #22 to Use 3 design papers, 2 embellishments and 1 ribbon on your card. I also used old Mojo #54 for the layout.

Recipe:

Stamps: House of Haunts

Papers: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White, Cast-A-Spell DSp (retired)

Inks: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Perfect Plum

Accessories: Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon, Buttons from Papermania, Bat Brad from Making Memories, Scallop Edge Punch

My very last Hallowe'en card is for the Hope You Can Cling To challenge #25 to use buttons - although I only used one button, it was quite a large one! I also used Mojo #51 for the layout as well.

Recipe:

Stamps: Friendship Jar Fall Fillers

Papers: Basic Black from SU, Orange Zest, Stamper Select White, Halloween Prints all from PTI

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch from SU, Orange Zest ribbon, True Black buttons both from PTI

My next card is a Christmas one using one of my new sets and matching punches! This one is for Color Throwdown's challenge #116 to use Riding Hood Red, Vanilla and Certainly Celery, for Free For All #34 to make a Christmas card without using white (I guess I'm stretching it a bit there!), Mojo #76,  Papertake Weekly's Bright and Sparkly challenge and finally the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #27 to use shimmer paints. I don't think you can see particularly well in the photo but I did spray all 3 baubles with my Vanilla Smooch Spritz and they do shimmer quite nicely (they also make the ink run as you can see on the Riding Hood Red one!).

Recipe:

Stamps: Delightful Decorations from SU

Papers: Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla

Inks: Certainly Celery, Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Riding Hood Red ribbon, Silver Cord, Ornament Punch, Silver gems from Papermania, Snowflakes Embossing Folder

And my final card for today is for the In Love With Stamping Colour challenge for October to use red, white and black and for Paper Pal Arts #66 for the sketch. I just had to try out another of my new sets and used the rock 'n' roll technique which is one I very rarely use, but I do think it looks stunning on this one!

Recipe:

Stamps: Artistic Etchings, Because I Care

Papers: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Love Letter DSP

Inks: Riding Hodd Red, Basic Black

Accessories: Whisper White satin ribbon, Scallop Edge Punch, Circle Nestabilities, Black Diamond Stickles

And that's all for me today folks. Thanks for stopping by!

More pink cards

With the charity card drive over on Splitcoast Stampers to help raise money for the MD Anderson Cancer Center so many of my cards have pink in them as stated mostly in the challenge write ups. But pink is one of my fave colours so I'm not complaining!

My first card today is for the October In Love With Stamping limited supplies challenge, in which we were not allowed to stamp on cardstock, so I used vellum instead and came up with this card in the technique style that Nichole Heady has shown before on her blog here. This is also for Papertrey Peeps Challenge #18 to use pink and for the Hope You Can Cling To challenge #23 to use stitching in some form on your card. I used my Sew Easy with the scallop head and then cut round it afterwards. Just adds such a nice edge to it don't you think?!

Recipe:

Stamps: In Bloom from PTI

Papers: Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz both from PTI, Vellum cardstock from SU

Inks: Versamark, Raspberry Fizz from PTI, Memento Tuxedo Black

Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Raspberry Fizz buttons from PTI, Sew Easy from We Are Memory Makers, Black Embroidery Thread from stash

My next card is for Stampin' Royalty's challenge #43 for the sketch, CC294 to use Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze and Crumb Cake and for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #26 to use birds on a card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Bird On A Branch

Papers: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze cs and DSP (retired), Ski Slope DSP (retired)

Inks: Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride

Accessories: Linen Impressions Plate from PTI, Oval Nestabilities, Beaded Oval Nestabilities, Bird Punch from SU, Boho Blossoms Punch from SU, Kraft Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Mini Brads from Papermania

My next card is completely not my normal style, but sometimes it's fun to do so! This one is for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #19 to make a card for a little girl using either the given pictures as inspiration or memories of your own childhood toys. Like most little girls I think, I had a teapot set and remember regularly having tea with my teddies, Big Ted and Little Ted (named after the teds on Playschool for those of you that remember that TV show over here in the UK). I used the layout from Mojo #162 as well.

Recipe:

Stamps: Tea For Two from PTI (I don't actually have this set but stamped some images when I went to my friend Amy's back in August and hadn't used them at all so they can in very handy for this challenge!)

Papers: Rich Razzleberry cs and DSP (retired), Basic Black, Pretty in Pink, Welcome Neighbor DSP, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Pretty in Pink ink and marker, Pear Pizzazz marker, Memento Tuxedo Black, Basic Black

Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon both from SU, Black brads from stash, Martha Stewart lace tag (inked in Basic Black! I said I would use them and I finally did!)

My next two cards are both for Tilda challenges - I'm getting quite back into my Tildas again now and love all the new designs they keep coming up with (shame my bank balance doesn't agree ) This first one is for Totally Tilda's challenge #8 to use pink and pearls. Instead of the usual pearls I went with LOTS of Liquid Pearls in the style of Sankari Wegman and love this look. I used my piercing mat to add pencil dots to the papers so my pearls would be evenly spaced and I really love how it turned out! This is also for SC304, CC72 to use Cool Caribbean (which I subbed with Soft Sky), Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery and for Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #24 to use an image of a girl and use pink!

Recipe:

Stamps: Tilda With Peony from Magnolia

Papers: Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Copic White, Pretty in Pink DSP from retired hostess pack

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Oval Nestabilities, Perfect Paisley Embossing Folder, Pastel Raspberry and White Opal Liquid Pearls

And my final card is for Just Magnolia's #79 for the sketch, the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #12 to make a birthday card using paper piecing, for Free For All #36 which was also to use paper piecing and for Just Us Girls #57 to make a fabric flower. I don't actually own any fabric (and I certainly wasn't going to cut up some old clothes just for this challenge, so I used felt instead!)

Recipe:

Stamps: Tilda with Christmas Presents (cunningly disguised as a party goer delivering lots of pressies!), Just The Ticket (another one stamped from Amy but on its way to me as we speak!)

Papers: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Copic White, Vintage Cream from PTI, Melon Mambo DSP (retired)

Inks: Melon Mambo, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Felt from Hobbycraft, Brads from stash, Black ribbon from stash, Ticket Die from PTI, Flower, Vine and Flourish die set from Sizzix

And that's all from me this post folks. Thanks for stopping by!

Hallowe'en Shoes and a Diary

I made all the Hallowe'en shoes today for the gifts bags of choccies to go in for my friends and family this year. I used the same shoe as this one I did a few weeks back, but used different coloured cardstock (simply because I had no more of the glitter card) with different ribbons and DSP. Like the shimmery cardstock? I used my Champagne Mist shimmer paint all over the outside of the shoes and they really do shimmer very nicely!

This is what 11 shoes look like from the front....

And from the side...

I thought I would enter these into the Sweet Stampin' Challenge #49 - Anything but a Card as I do have a little big of stamping on these on the tags.

Recipe:

Stamps: Tiny Treats: Halloween from PTI

Papers: Lovely Lilac, Whisper White, range of Hallowe'en themed DSP including from My Mind's Eye

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Range of orange ribbons from stash (I kept running out hence the fact there are 5 different types, but at least it gives me an excuse to go buy some more hehe), Large and small tag punches from SU, Champagne Mist shimmer paint

And the only other thing I had time to do today was to cover a diary for my MIL's friend for her birthday this week. Apparently she has had the same diary since the 1980s so it really is about time she got a new one, but the plain black diary it is underneath is dull and boring so I decorated it and it now looks so much prettier, don't you think?!  I thought I would enter this in the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #18 Vintage style. As I'm sure you can tell vintage is SO not my style at all, it just doesn't do it for me, but hey I gave it a go and came up with this! Kind of vintage.

Recipe:

Stamps: None

Papers: Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla, DSP from October Afternoon

Inks: Creamy Caramel

Accessories: Lace from Cuddly Buddly, Beautiful Bloom Dies 2 from PTI, Buttons from Elzybells, Eyelet Border Punch from SU, Leaf die #3 from Sizzix, First Steps Alphabet from Sizzix, Labels 14 Nestabilities

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by.

October 2010 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

It's time again for Papertrey Ink's monthly blog hop and this month the theme is winter holidays other than Christmas. This is Nichole's write up for the challenge:

There is always a lot of focus on Christmas in our industry this time of year, as that is what the majority of the population celebrates. However, this month's blog hop is dedicated to those that celebrate winter holidays other than Christmas. Create a project that celebrates Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or some other winter holiday as we embrace everyone's beliefs in a celebration of diversity through paper crafting.

I don't own any of the stamp sets for Hanukkah and don't really know enough about Kwanzaa to make a card for it, so instead I decided to make a winter scene card that could be used as a generic holiday card and I love this sentiment too. I do believe I have only used this set once before and I have no idea why I haven't used it more often because it's such a fab, versatile set. I will definitely be bringing this one out more often for this year's Christmas cards now.

This one also uses the layout from the In Love With Stamping October sketch challenge.

Recipe:

Stamps: Background Basics: Christmas, Made of Snow both from PTI

Papers: Enchanted Evening, Spring Rain, Stampers Select White

Inks: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy all from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Spring Rain stitched grosgrain ribbon from PTI, Diamond Stickles

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Some other odds and ends..

This is the last post for today with some other cards and things that were neither pink nor Hallowe'en!

My first card is for CC293 to use Concord Crush, Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive and what a gorgeous combo this one was! I used Mojo #24 for the layout, but moved the embellishment to the other side and for Hope You Can Cling To #21 to make a handmade embellishment. I had cut all the papers up for this one before I realised that I hadn't got my Cherry Cobbler marker yet so had to stamp the image again and cut all those tiny flowers out - not recommended at all as it took AGES!!! All my new core colour and in color markers have been ordered and will hopefully be here this week.

Recipe:

Stamps: Hopeful Thoughts from SU

Papers: Concord Crush cs and DSP from hostess pack, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive cs and DSP (retired), Whisper White

Inks: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Concord Crush

Accessories: Scallop Trim border and corner punches, Concord Crush ribbon, Boho Blossoms punch all from SU, Beautiful Blooms Dies #2 from PTI, Sizzix Leaf #3 die, Brad from Papermania

My next card is for Papertake Weekly's #49 for the sketch and for Color Throwdown's #115 to use Dusty Durango, So Saffron and Perfect Plum.

Recipe:

Stamps: All About You and All About You Additions both from PTI

Papers: Perfect Plum cs and DSP (retired), Dusty Durango, So Saffron cs and DSP (retired) all from SU, Copics White

Inks: Perfect Plum, So Saffron, Dusty Durango, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Cuttlebug Textile Texture Embossing Folder, Dusty Durango ribbon, Photo Corner Punch both from SU, Sepia Zoomz (like Dew Drops)

My next card is for Farm Fresh Friday's pocket challenge - don't ask where I came up with this idea, but I had the idea of making a pocket with a secret image inside for this one! I don't especially like it, but I guess you find out only by trying! I used Mojo #61 for the layout and CC23 to use Elegant Eggplant, Apricot Appeal and Certainly Celery (I still have about 50 of these old colour combos to do and then I will have finally caught up!).

Recipe:

Stamps: Flirty Anya from The Greeting Farm, Everyday Classics from PTI

Papers: Apricot Appeal cs and DSP (retired), Elegant Eggplant, Copics White, Certainly Celery DSP (retired)

Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Elegant Eggplant and Certainly Celery grosgrain ribbons from SU, Lavender Lace Liquid Pearls, Rectangle Nestabilities, Cornice Border Punch from Martha Stewart, Primas, Brads from stash, 1" circle punch

And my final project is for Just Us Girls Template challenge and Hope You Can Cling To #16 to use felt. My lovely friend Linzi went to Canada last month for a holiday and she brought me back some packs of Martha Stewart's doilies (not used them yet though! Must sort that out!), so I made this set as a little gift for her. The first photo is the mailbox on its own. I used Lauren Meader's Happy Mail template for this one.

This is the mailbox and card set - don't they just look fab with the matching colours and papers!

And this was what I put inside the mailbox. As Linzi is a crafter herself there was no point doing a box of cards or something so I made up little packs of ribbons, PTI buttons and some more felt flowers using PTI's felt (which is fab btw!). Linzi loved it all as well, but I love that cute mailbox and think I NEED to make myself one just to look at and play with! (I did forget to take photos of it all, so Linzi very kindly took these ones for me!)

Recipe:

Stamps: None

Papers: Real Red from SU, Hawaiian Shores, Beautiful Blooms DSP both from PTI

Inks: None

Accessories: Happy Mail template from Lauren Meader, Beautiful Blooms Dies from PTI, Sizziz Leaf #3 die, PTI felt in Pure Poppy, Vintage Cream, Hawaiian Shores and Simply Chartreuse, Rick-Rack die from PTI, Brad from Papermania, True Black buttons, Pure Poppy Twine

And that really is all for today folks! I will be back tomorrow though with this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop entry!

Last few bits of Hallowe'en stuff

I have finished all my Hallowe'en cards now and just have the witch's shoes to do as gifts holders (I did one here a few weeks back and love it!). These are a couple more cards and a home decor piece - I do have another one of these to paint, but just didn't have any more energy to do it today!

This first card is for Our Creative Corner's Challenge to use Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry and Early Espresso and for Sweet Sunday Sketch #90. I wanted a bright funky DSP for this card and couldn't find the right colours so made my own with Dot Spot and love it! My image didn't quite fit the sketch either but I think it's close enough.

Recipe:

Stamps: Dot Spot from PTI, House of Haunts from SU

Papers: Certainly Celery, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry

Inks: Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Early Espresso

Accessories: Eyelet Lace Border Die from PTI, Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon from SU

My next card is for Stacey's Curtain Call #53 to use Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie (which I swapped for PTI's Orange Zest instead to match the DSP better). I also used SC303 for the layout.

Recipe:

Stamps: Friendship Jar and Fall Fillers from PTI

Papers: Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray both from SU, Orange Zest, Stampers Select White, Halloween Prints DSP all from PTI

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Spiderweb Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug, Oval Nestabilites, Daffodil Delight Satin ribbon, Black Diamond Stickles

And this is my Hallowe'en wreath that I spent hours painting today! The actual wreath is made from MDF and was about £3 from Hobbycraft. I used acrylic paints to (painstakingly) paint it several times, then outlined each image and letter with a pen to neaten it all up, added some PTI ribbons and voila all done! We'll hang this in the window next weekend to wish all our trick or treaters a Happy Hallowe'en. I thought I would enter this in the Papertrey Posse's October Parade of Blogs, which was to make some Hallowe'en decor. Now you are supposed to use some PTI stuff and while I have only used their Orange Zest and True Black ribbons, I guess it still counts.

And that's all for this post folks. Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to come back and check out my last post for today on my other bits and bobs!

A few pink cards

I never got round to blogging yesterday's cards so I've had to put all this weekend's creations (and a couple of things from last week that I never did either) into 3 different posts so they don't end up being miles too long!

This post has all the cards with pink in! The first card is for A Passion for Papertrey's CASE challenge. I chose this card of Michelle Wooderson's to case. I basically kept the same layout and idea but used the colours from CC292 to use Pink Pirouette, Real Red and Pear Pizzazz. This one is also for Stampin' Royalty's #42 to use ribbons.

Recipe:

Stamps: Little Lady, Background Basics: Botanicals both from PTI

Papers: Pink Pirouette from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI, Real Red DSP from retired hostess pack (SU), Pear Pizzazz from current hostess pack (SU)

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Basic Black, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz

Accessories: Pure Poppy Button, Pure Poppy Baker's Twine, Large Scallop Border Die all from PTI, Pear Pizzazz ribbon from SU

My next card is for Mojo #161 for the sketch, Just Add Ink's #40 to use Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz and Bashful Blue and for Hope You Can Cling To #17 to pop something up with foam pads. My flowers and sentiment are all popped up! I completely CASEd Julie's idea to use the wavy punch on my card as I had completely forgotten that I had this punch until I saw her sample - so thank you Julie for reminding me!

Recipe:

Stamps: Dream Big from Verve

Papers: Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Bashful Blue

Inks: Blushing Bride, Bashful Blue, Pear Pizzazz, Sahara Sand

Accessories: Wavy Punch from EK Success, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Bashful Blue grosgrain ribbon all from Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Buttons from stash

And my final pink card is for Just Magnolia's #78 to use pink, Hope You Can Cling To #20 for the sketch with a twist of including a dance theme. I have no dance themed stamps at all, but I think this Tilda stamp looks like she might me ready to dance! It's also for Paper Pal Arts #65 to use bling (I used my new Bazzill Jewel Template for the flourish) and CC58 to use Pixie Pink, Certainly Celery and Always Artichoke. I did attempt to do some stitching on this one as well with my new so-called Sew Easy from We Are Memory Makers - shame it didn't actually pierce the cardstock! Might have to practise with it first next time!

Recipe:

Stamps: Fancy Flourishes from PTI, Spanish Tilda from Magnolia

Papers: Pixie Pink, Always Artichoke, Copics White, Certainly Celery DSP

Inks: Pixie Pink, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, Tilda's Doily Lace Border Die, Gems from stash, Embroidery Thread, Icicle Stickles

And that's all for this post folks! Be sure to come back and check out my other posts to see my other creations! Thanks for stopping by!

Saturday's cards

I only crafted on Saturday at home this weekend as I attended a Stampin' Up training event led by the lovely Monica and Bekka on Sunday, but I'll upload photos of all those projects and swaps probably next weekend as this week is crazily busy at work for me - 2 parents evenings, one til 8pm and the other til 6pm and I'm on a course in Newmarket in between!

Anyway my first card is for Splitcoast Stampers Mini VSN Challenge #1 which was to be inspired by one of the 3 papers made by Cloud Nine Designs. The VSN this time round is called On Cloud Nine and all of the challenges are fab! I used the Hallowe'en paper for my inspiration, although my card doesn't really resemble the paper, but I did use purple, green and black on mine. I'm also entering it in Stampin' Royalty's #41 and Totally Tilda's Spooky Hallowe'en Special Challenge, which were both Hallowe'en as well, Just Magnolia's #77 for the sketch, SCS' Hope You Can Cling To #14 and Sweet Stampin' #48 which were both to use ribbon and Papertake Weekly's 3 of a kind challenge. I used 3 different patterned papers, 3 stamps and I had 3 bats.

Recipe:

Stamps: Bat and Dracula Edwin from Magnolia, Frienship Jar Fall Fillers from PTI

Papers: Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Copic White, Basic Gray Eerie DSP

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Black glitter ribbon from Hobbycraft

My next card is for the Mini VSN Challenge #2 which was to use the spotlighting technique and I pulled out one of my fave stamp sets for this technique - Fresh Cuts. I also used Mojo #32 for the sketch and Hope You Can Cling To #15 to use pink, aqua and olive.

Recipe:

Stamps: Fresh Cuts

Papers: Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Basic Gray Lemonade DSP

Inks: Old Olive, Pixie Pink

Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, Circle Nestabilities, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Dies

My next one is for the VSN Mini #3, which was to use pastels in pastel colours, with an optional extra of using Flower Soft. I couldn't find my Flower Soft anywhere (I don't really use it so have obviously put it away but no idea where!). I used the popping pastels technique to make my background paper and, although you can't see in the photo, I did use pastels round each petal on the flowers. I used SC302 for the layout, CC68 to use Blush Blossom, Night of Navy, Borderng Blue and Regal Rose. This is also for Hope You Can Cling To #11 to add paper flowers to a card/project and for the Our Creative Corner's Embellishments challenge to use 3 or more embellishments. I used die cuts, buttons and ribbon!

Recipe:

Stamps: Beautiful Blooms II from PTI

Inks: Versamark, Stampin' Pastels

Papers: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Bordering Blue, Blush Blossom, Regal Rose, Sweet Always DSP (Retired)

Accessories: Blue flower buttons from stash, Pale pink ribbon from stash, Bloom Dies #3 from PTI

My next card is for VSN Mini #4, which was to be inspired by the given quote about angels favourite hiding places. I thought I would use the idea of the breeze along with a Tilda from when she used to have wings. This is also for CC84 to use Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery and Blush Blossom, Free For All #31 to use scallops and Hope You Can Cling To #13 to make a card that was not a square or rectangle.

Recipe:

Stamps: Tilda in Summer Breeze

Papers: Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom, Copics White

Inks: memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Large Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Boho Blossom Punch, Buttons from Papermania, Icicles Stickles

And my final card for this post is not for a Mini VSN challenge. I didn't do #5 as it was using the Foxi Oxi technique and I don't have any Oxi-Clean and I wouldn't know what else to use instead, so I didn't do it! This one uses Mojo #160 for the sketch, the inspiration of Autumn trees from Paper Pal Arts, A Passion for Papertrey's Autumnal challenge and Hope You Can Cling To #10 to be inspired by a place you walk by everyday. I don't walk anywhere unless I really have to - that's why cars were invented, but I do walk through my school car park everyday and we have a huge amount of trees in our front "garden". There's loads of willow and silverbirches and all of them are slowly turning to the autumn colours now, so I guess my colours come from that!

Recipe:

Stamps: Turning A New Leaf, Everyday Classics both from PTI

Papers: Cajun Craze, Soft Suede, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla

Inks: Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, More Mustard, Versamark

Accessories: More Mustard grosgrain ribbon, Martha Stewart Cornice Border PUnch, Dew Drops

And that's from me today folks. Thanks for stopping by!

Bit of a mixed batch today...

Today's cards are a bit of a mixture of different challenges from this week.

The first one is for Stacey's Curtain Call #51 to use So Saffron, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Basic Black and Crumb Cake. I so needed to use my new Notably Ornate set and came up with this design!

Recipe:

Stamps: Notably Ornate

Papers: So Saffron cs & DSP from Subtles pack, Marina Mist, Whisper White, Love Letter DSP

Inks: Marina Mist, Basic Black, So Saffron

Accessories: Marina Mist 1/8" Taffeta ribbon, Modern Label Punch

My next card is for Sweet Sunday Sketch #88 and Totally Tilda's #7 to make a traditional red and green Christmas card. I decided to make my little Elf Tilda into a Christmas fairy/elf and prop her up on a bauble!

Recipe:

Stamps: Elf Tilda, Big Christmas Ornament both from Magnolia, Tiny Tags from SU

Papers: Old Olive, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Christmas Jingle Scrapping Kit all from SU

Inks: Real Red, Old Olive from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, Real Red Grosgrain ribbon, Jewelry Tag Punch, Diamond Stickles

My next card is a very pink one for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenge #9 to make a pink square card with at least 4 other squares on it, Just Add Ink's #38 to add bling and pink,  an altered version of Mojo #147 and Sweet Stampin's #47 Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend. I did actually use diamonds on this card, Dazzling Diamonds that is!

Recipe:

Stamps: Just Believe

Papers: Pretty in Pink cs & DSP from the Subtles pack, Regal Rose, Very Vanilla

Inks: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Versamark

Accessories: Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon, Circle Nestabilities, Pink gems from stash, Heat 'n' Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds

And my final card today is what I'm calling a non-traditional Hallowe'en card in that it doesn't use my usual colours of purple, black, orange and green! This one is for A Passion for Papertrey's Awesomely Autumnal challenge to make an Autumn card. Well Autumn is all about Hallowe'en for me! It's also for Papertrey Posse's Petite Challenge #8 to make a Hallowe'en card using Plum Pudding, Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz and Black! I loved this combo - so bright and funky and would be great for a bright flowers card too. I also used Mojo #27 for the layout but changed where the ribbon went as it would have covered up too much of my image!

Recipe:

Stamps: Friendship Jar, Fall Fillers, Tiny Treats: Halloween all from PTI

Papers: Raspberry Fizz, Plum Pudding, Hawaiian Shores, Stampers Select white cs all from PTI, Basic Black from SU

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Purple embroidery thread from stash, Raspberry Fizz ribbon

And I made a little tote bag to go with the birthday card I made for my friend Jayne yesterday. I used the small All Around Tote template from PTI and it was the perfect size to fit her jewellery gift in that my friend Michele and I bought for her. Just hope she likes it all.

Recipe:

Stamps: Embellishments, Dot Spot

Papers: Blushing Bride from SU, Stampers Select White from PTI

Inks: Basic Black, Blushing Bride both from SU

Accessories: Large and small tag punches, Oval and Scallop Oval punches, Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta ribbon all from SU, All Around Tote template from PTI

And this is the card and tote bag together - don't they look pretty?!

And that's all for this weekend folks. Mini VSN next weekend so make sure you come and join in. 5 fab challenges on Friday night! I'm going to be a hostess for the main event in November again - you know how much I love doing these.

Embellishments and Hallowe'en

Just a few more cards I did today for a few more challenges! The other cards I did with my new SU stash can be found here if you want a peek!

The first one is for Papertake's Weekly Challenge and as it's their 3rd birthday (congrats to them all) this week's challenge is to redo your favourite challenge of theirs so far. I chose to do Black, White & one other colour from way back in September 2009 for mine. I did a similar card to the one I did here for the Papertrey Ink blog hop this month for my friend's birthday card, which is tomorrow. I do need to make a matching box as well, but I didn't get time today, so will have to do it tomorrow morning.

Recipe:

Stamps: Embellishments from PTI, Curly Cute from SU

Papers: Blushing Bride, Basic Black, Whisper White

Inks: Basic Black, Blushing Bride

Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Basic Black 1/8" taffeta ribbon, Pink gems from Papermania

My next card uses the same stamp set but a different stamp. This one is for Hope You Can Cling To challenge #7 to use one of the Cancer ribbon colours (I chose lavender which represents all cancers) and to borrow something so I "borrowed" or CASEd this layout from the sample for F4A32, which I loved. I also used CC64B to use Lavender Lace and Chocolate Chip.

Recipe:

Stamps: Embellishments from PTI

Papers: lavender Lace, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Inks: Lavender Lace, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon, Eyelet Border Punch, Labels 14 Nestabilities, Paper Piercer and mat pack

And my final card is another Hallowe'en one - I still need to do loads more of these. This one is for Hope You Can Cling To challenge #6 to use something old (my wheel and background stamp are both about 2-3 years old) and something new (my cardstock, ink and ribbons arrived just yesterday!). I used CC287 to use Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait and Concord Crush, Mojo #159 for the layout and Just Magnolia #76 to do everything in pairs, so I had 2 ribbons, 2 background stamps, 2 different colours of dew drops, 2 other stamps, 2 nestabilities, but I did only have 1 punch and 3 colours (well 4 if you count the white cardstock I coloured in!)

Recipe:

Stamps: Flying Witch Tilda from Magnolia, Friendship Jar Fall Fillers from PTI, Spooky Skyline wheel from SU, Hallowe'en from Hero Arts

Papers: Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait, Copics White

Inks: Basic Black, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics

Accessories: Concord Crush ribbon, Peach Parfait ribbon, Circle Nestabilities, Martha Stewart Cornice Border Punch, Dew Drops

And that's all for today folks! I'm sure I'll be doing a few challenges tomorrow so be sure to pop back then!

Some of my new SU stash

My big Stampin' Up order arrived yesterday and I now have all the new cardstock and ink colours with some of the new ribbons too. I got 6 new stamp sets, 5 new packs of DSP and a new punch, so I just had to play with some of them today.

My first card is for the Our Creative Corner Sketch challenge, Paper Pal Arts #63 to use Pear Pizzazz, Peach Parfait and Melon Mambo and what a gorgeous combo this one turned out to be. I also did this one for the Hope You Can Cling To challenge 2B to be inspired by lingerie. Most of mine is either pink or black with dots or flowers (sure you all needed to know that, but I guess I have to explain where the inspiration came from :P)
