Faery Ink New Release

Good morning everyone! I have a new post for you over on the Faery Ink blog, so you will need to head on over there to see it!

Jasmine Becket-Griffith Colouring - Portrait with A Spiderling

Good evening! I thought would share something different with you tonight! I got the Jasmine Becket-Griffith Halloween Colouring Book for Christmas as I am a huge fan of hers. I have several of her prints and figurines and was lucky enough to meet her at the Whitby Goth Festival a couple of years ago and spent a while chatting with Jasmine and her husband. Really lovely people!

I spent the afternoon last Sunday colouring away one of the smaller images from her colouring book. I photocopied the page onto my Super Smooth Card, so I could colour it with my Copics and to be honest I don't want to ruin the book with my markers. The paper in it isn't really suitable for Copics anyway and I don't want the colouring to bleed through as there is a description of the following image on the back of the colouring page, which would be ruined! I'm also a bit OCD about things like that and if I did the pages out of order my OCD wouldn't like it! This way I can do them as I like!

Anyway here she is...This image is called Portrait with A Spiderling (You can find the original painting here) and is one of the smaller images where there are 4 to a page. She ended up being about 3 x 4 inches, but her hair took me ages to do! I do love how she came out though! I think I will end up colouring all 4 from the same page and either add to my colouring journal or make some ATC type cards with them and add them to my Jasmine wall in the bedroom!

Simply B Pastel Goth Lucinda

Good Morning and welcome to my post using this month's progressive challenge image from Simply B Stamps. This gorgeous gal is called Lucinda and our challenge this time was to use the photo below for a pastel goth colour combo! As a former goth in my youth and still very much a "wearing black all the time" kinda gal, this was a perfect colour combo for me! (The only thing that has really changed is that I now have blonde hair rather than black and my lipstick colour tends to be pink now!)

Image may contain: shoes and text

And here is my card... I went for a two tone colour combo on her hair, which I do think would have looked better if her hair was straight, but I think you get the idea!

This card is also for

I went for a purple and grey colour combo with a touch of pink for the flowers and love how it came out. I'm not very good at colouring animals yet (I do have the class form Kit and Clowder and have it all printed, but not yet found the time to start it!), but I am pleased with how the horse came out.

Art By MiRan Goodbye Post

Good evening everyone. It is with a very sad heart that I have to write this post! Mi Ran has decided to take a break from her Art by MiRan digital stamp work to concentrate on other projects and has therefore decided to close both the Art by MiRan Facebook group and the Art by MiRan blogs.

I have been part of the Facebook team from the beginning, when it was just me on my own-some and started hosting the monthly challenges. Together with Jackie, we also started the Progressive Challenge which has just completed its 2nd year. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this team and seeing it grow from just a couple of entries to almost 30 every month. Some of you lovely ladies have joined in every month and I really do enjoy seeing what you create with the gorgeous images every month.

So I now give a huge thank you to Mi Ran for inviting me for joining her team over 2 years ago, to Jackie Randolph for helping me learn the ropes as the Facebook Team Coordinator, to Bonnie, Liz, Melanie, Pauline, Gloria and Silvia for being part of the team, to the rest of the Art by MiRan Design Team for being fabulous friends and to all our guest designers and challenge entrants for making the last two years or so an absolute blast!

Here is my final card as a goodbye and thank you. This card is dedicated to everyone I mentioned, but mostly to Mi Ran for her friendship, love and faith in me! I will so miss being part of your team, Mi Ran, but I know I have made such a fabulous friend in you and we will always stay in touch! From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
