Scene It Sunday #31 Featuring Illuminations by Molly Harrison

Good morning and welcome to today's Scene It Sunday post! This week I am sharing a colouring of the Molly Harrison Patreon page for January. One of my colouring goals this year (although I have probably said it a hundred times before!) is to actually colour the Patreon images that I receive through my subscriptions each month and I actually managed to do this one of Molly's this month too!

This gorgeous image is called Illuminations and I wanted a dark blue background whilst everything else was pale and popped out against it. It took me about 4 hours or so to colour and I absolutely love it! I haven't made it into anything yet - I don't want it on a card, so will try to buy some A5 frames that these images can fit into.

Something Else on Saturday #90 Featuring #382 by Art by MiRan

Good morning and happy Saturday! I can't believe this is the last weekend of January already! And what a start to the new year it has been. Schools in the UK were closed to all but key worker and vulnerable children, so starting on Wednesday 6th January, I have been teaching lessons through zoom every day! This is a whole new way of teaching for me and not something I have ever been taught to do either, so I am still learning as I go! It's been fun, but hard work as well. And now the most recent announcement is that we probably won't be going back into schools until at least March!

Anyway...on to today's Something Else on Saturday card. This week I have been adding my card templates and stencils to my Evernote account and realised it has been ages since I dug one out and made a shaped card, so that was the plan for this card. I used a digi stamp from Art by MiRan that MiRan gave away on Facebook last year, but she doesn't have a name unfortunately, just a number #382. You can find this image in her etsy store here though. I need to use MiRan's images more - this was one of my first design teams and loved these images.

LeAnn's World 101 Inspiration Post

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT inspiration post for LeAnn's World 101 for January. Today I have chosen to use the cute Aaryn for a fun teenage boy themed card as I always need loads of these and never have ever already made!

I made the brick wall using my stencil from Dutch Doobadoo and my new blending brushes which were fabulous to use! So much nicer and easier to get a depth of colour than the blending tools I have been using. The "graffiti" on the wall is an old set from Waltzing Mouse Stamps which is great for these kind of cards (and superhero or comic style ones as well).

Recipe:

Stamps: Aaryn from LeAnn's World 101, Kaboom from Waltzing Mouse Stamps, Out of This World from Clearly Besotted Stamps

Papers: Wild Wasabi & Chocolate Chip (Both Retired) both from Stampin' Up, Ultimate Graphic Paper, Just For Men Patterned Papers from Crafter's Companion, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

The Paper Shelter Challenge #454 - Happy Birthday

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from The Paper Shelter. This week our challenge is to make a Happy Birthday card or project. I have decided to use some of the older Paper Shelter images this year as I have an absolute ton printed out already and want to use some of them up.

This image is Cute Cave Girl and I have never used her before as I could never decide how to layout my card. However, my new stitched den dies arrived yesterday so I thought I would attempt to make it look like she was coming out of a cave and into the woods whilst riding her sabretooth cat! The sentiment, I thought, is just perfect for someone getting that little bit older! 😁

Recipe:

Stamps: Cute Cave Girl from The Paper Shelter, Prehistoric Plushies from Clearly Besotted

Papers: Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip & Tall Tales DSP (All retired) all from Stampin' Up, Copic Xpress It Blending Card

Inks: Gumball Green (Retired) from Stampin' Up, Copic Markers

Accessories: Stitched Den Dies from Lawn Fawn, Christmas Trees Dies 6002/2056 from Joy Crafts

Scene It Sunday #30 Featuring Frosty Feet from Sweet November Stamps

Good afternoon! Welcome to today's late post for my Scene It Sunday feature. I just didn't get time last week to make a card in preparation for today's post, so made it up today along with a few DT cards.

Last week Amy Young from Sweet November Stamps did a live colouring on Facebook of her new clear stamp sets with this nighttime, mountain scene and I just had to try and replicate it. I have never managed to draw or colour mountains freehand that actually look like snowy mountains, so this was a great way to learn. I just replayed her video and copied as closely as I could! The colours for the sky, mountains, snow and snowman are the same as Amy's but everything else I coloured in my own way.

I did actually print a sentiment to go at the bottom, but forgot that I had changed the settings on my printer to print only in black and as I wanted the sentiment in blue, it didn't print. I didn't realise until this morning when I went to put it on this card and I couldn't be bothered to dig the printer back out form under the bed and load my laptop up to print it, so I will do it next time I print and add it to the card then!

This card is for

Good Morning and welcome to this week's something Else on Saturday post! I am still trying to use up all the Christmas images that I coloured and this gorgeous image was a freebie from Stamp Anniething during their Christmas event.

Scene It Sunday #29 Featuring Time To Read from All Dressed Up

Good morning! I hope you had all had a restful and enjoyable weekend so far! Mine are always filled with crafting as I rarely get any time (or have the energy) to do much during the week, so I spend all day Saturday colouring, and all day Sunday crafting! I keep saying I am going to try and get some colouring classes done during the week, but this teaching from home on Zoom every day is absolutely shattering and definitely creating more work, despite what the government think us teachers actually do!

Anyway today's Scene It Sunday card is another reading scene that I have used to decorate my reading journal, which I am loving using at the minute. It's so quick and easy to fill in and takes no time at all. To make this scene, I used the Time To Read image from All Dressed Up and then lots of elements from the Build-A-Living Room Set from The Greeting Farm. The sentiment comes from the Reading Mermaid Stamp by Simply B Stamps.

As this is in my reading journal I had to keep it fairly flat with no embellishments, but I think it looks great as it is!

Something Else on Saturday #88 Featuring Holiday Mischief from Newton's Nook Designs

Good morning and welcome to today's Something Else on Saturday post. I've been back at work this week and it was just SO hard having to get up so early again! I'll be back into the swing of it all again soon! Not that us teachers have much of a choice there!

Anyway...this week's card is a left over from another card I made where I didn't need to use all the coloured images. As I only had the one image left, I decided to go very CAS (for me anyway!). I never make cards like this any more, but saw one similar on Pinterest and thought it would make for a quick and easy Christmas card. Can't remember the last time I used my embossing folders and I have tons of them!

I absolutely love Amanda's gnomes and this one was calling out for some bright colours to cheer me up. Scene It Sunday #28 Featuring A Winter's tail from Digi Doodle Studio

Good morning everyone and happy Sunday! Boy what a first full week it has been here in the UK. We have now all put back into a country wide lockdown and all schools are closed, so I had to plan lessons like crazy and set up all my different groups on Zoom ready to start teaching lessons on Wednesday and although it's not something I have ever done before, I really enjoyed doing it. It was lovely seeing the children again after so long!

Anyway..my card for today is another Christmas card that I never got chance to make before the event and as I didn't actually have enough to send or give out this time, I thought I would carry on making a few more until I got bored with doing them, but there's so many cute images and stamps in my stash, it's hard not to use them!

These little cuties are from Digi Doodle Studio and I love how the flock of robins have all come together to say hello and "Season's Tweetings!"

Something Else on Saturday #86 Featuring Beatrix The Bookwitch from Faery Ink

Good Morning and Happy New Year to you all. I hope you had a fabulous New Year's celebration and we able to see in the New year with your loved ones!

I have done something a little different for today's Something Else post and decorate a reading journal that I have made. I am a huge reader and decided to make a reading journal to record all my 2021 reading in rather than just using Goodreads!

I couldn't find a journal exactly as I wanted it, unless I got one made for me by someone on etsy and paid a fortune for it, so I made it myself just using Word! I bought a cheapy notebook from eBay, took the ring binding off and added some book binding ring clips instead as the added sheets to the pages made it too thick otherwise.

I then decorated the front using this gorgeous image from Faery Ink, Beatrix the Bookwitch, and coloured her up using some of my favourite colour combos. I added the title using my Mama Elephant Whimsy Alphas dies and covered them with glitter to match the front cover as well. Overall it looks so sparkly! Definitely not going to lose this one!

And here are a few pictures of some of the pages inside - I have filled it all with the exception of 2 pages which I am going to add some more reading themed digi stamps to once I have coloured them all in! Each month has a quote page with a reading themed quote - this one is for June's section. My challenge this year is to read at least 90 books. I managed 92 in 2020, so want to try and beat that if I can!
