Watering The Flowers

This week's challenge over on Lili's Little Fairies is to use the pretty photo below so I pulled out my Promises patterned papers again and combined it with the sketch from The Sweet Stop's Challenge #208 and came up with this one. I thought I would use a different sets of the blue Copics for the sky but it came out much too dark for my liking. Will stick to my usual combo in future!

And here's my card.

Because You're Special

This card is for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #256 (Hope you can see it buried under all the roses!) and for Marvelous Magnolia's Challenge #24 to make a card for a special lady. This was actually my second attempt at this card as the first colour scheme I chose just did not work when all the pieces were put together so I swapped out one of the colours for the purples and now I really like it. Love the little bow die cut it the corner as well - isn't it just the cutest?!

And here's my card.

This card is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #5 for April and for A Passion for Papertrey's Let's Celebrate Challenge. I pulled out my much loved Beautiful Blooms papers for this one. I just love these bright, bold colours (and for some reason they always remind me of Minnie Mouse - must be the red and white polka dots with the black!).

And here's my card.

Bring on the Sunshine!

We've been getting a bit of sun over here in the UK, but it's still really cold. Bright but very deceiving as you still need a warm coat outside! I say bring on the warm sun! Anyway this card is for Friday MashUp's Challenge #107 to make a card featuring sunshine (I was supposed to make an easel card too, but stuck the front down before I remembered and by then it was too late to peel back off!) and for CC419 to use these colours - perfect for a summer sun in the bright blue sky!

And here's my card.

Distressed Marci

Marci's not really distressed, but the card is! This card is for La-La Land Crafts Challenge Distressing. I pulled out some pretty floral papers, matched my colours to that and off I went. I finally got my hands on one of the Heart Banner dies as well - found somewhere who had it in stock at long last! These sure are hard to come by over here in the UK. (I also got the corner and butterflies dies too!)

Monochromatic Thanks

This was a quick card I did this morning for Cupcake Craft Challenge #239 to use a monochromatic colour scheme and for SC433 for the sketch. I went for the classic black and white and pulled out my Damask designs set, which I haven't used in a while and love how this one came out!

This is my card for Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #249 for this layered sketch, which was perfect for my multi-layered style and for CC421 to use Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Baja Breeze. I used distressing on another card I made today and felt this one was just calling out for some distressed edges too! Love this colour combo!

Birthday Brollies

I really like this card - love the colours especially, but my boyfriend asked me why I would have umbrellas and raindrops on a birthday card and it got me thinking about whether I had used the right sentiment or not, but to be honest I'm not a great fan of any of the weather related sentiments in either of the Scattered Showers sets. Might have to buy the Stampin' Up umbrella set just for their sentiments :P

Anyway this card is for loads of challenges - Mojo Monday Challenge #290 for the sketch, Cute Card Thursday's Challenge #266 Can't Stop The Rain, Papertake Weekly's Challenge Weather With You, Just Add Ink's Challenge #163 to add a fun background and ColourQ's Challenge #186 to use these gorgeous colours! I used my Sign Language umbrella square stamp to make the pattern on the bottom half of the white piece and embossed the top half with my Cloudy Day folder, but you can't really see the clouds. My little panels use my new A Little Rain die which makes just the cutest little raindrops ever!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sign Language, Scattered Showers, Take Three: Summer all from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, Whisper White all from Stampin' Up

And that's all for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Tilda with a Big Ice Cream

I bought this Tilda stamps a couple of months ago and hadn't used her, so when I decided to pair up my Tilda challenges with the colour combo from Play Date Cafe's Challenge #178 I thought she would be perfect! This is also for Totally Tilda's Challenge #70 to use heat embossing (my sentiment and flourish on the other end of the panel and faux stitching on the image are all heat embossed), for Sketch Saturday's Challenge #255 for sketch and for Marvelous Magnolia's Challenge #23 to use bling. I have lots of glitter all over and some gems on there too!

And here's my card.

Just a Note

HI!

I rarely send out cards just to say hello, so thought it might be a nice idea to do so to friends I've not spoken to for a little while. This card is for Viva La Verve's Sketch #4 for April, CC422 to use this fab colour combo below and for Make It Monday's Challenge #112 to use embossed alpha die cuts. I actually don't have many alpha die sets from Papertrey Ink - just this Script one, which I love to bits! I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock with Melon Mambo embossing powder before cutting out my letters and I love the subtle little shine it brings to the card.

And here's my card.

Flowering Flourishes Thank You

Just a quick little card I made today for SC430 and Create with Connie and Mary's Challenge #248 to use these colours. I actually found this colour combo difficult at first as I really dislike Summer Starfruit, but it actually looks really nice with these other two colours, so I think it must be growing on me, now it's almost time for it to retire!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Perfectly Penned, Flowering Flourishes both from Stampin' Up

Papers: Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Whisper White, In Color 2012-14 DSP Stack all from Stampin' Up

Inks: Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse Markers all from Stampin' Up

Accessories: Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon from Stampin' Up

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Pint Sized Love

This card is for Saturated Canary's Challenge #41 Anything Goes and for Just Add Ink's Challenge #162 to add a new technique. I came up with a variation on a card I saw recently at some Stampin' Up training and made a Double Z-fold card with the centre panel cut shorter than the "door" panels. No idea what you would call this card, but I love it all the same! And it was really easy to do too!

This is the card closed.

And this is it open! I love this idea - completely different from the usual double z-fold cards I do!

Recipe:

Stamps: Pint Sized Love Digi Stamp from Saturated Canary, Everyday Grungy Messages from Lili of the Valley

Papers: Pretty in Pink, Purely Pomegranate (Retired), Berry Bliss DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Neenah Solar Crest

Bunnies in Love

This cute little card is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #207, Lili's Little Fairies Challenge to use two characters and for Cupcake Crafts Challenge #238 to use something cute and cuddly. I think these little bunnies are just the cutest, don't you?! (But I need to buy some more LOTV stamps when it's pay day next week!). I did rotate the sketch so I could use this bunny stamp though!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Bunnies in Love from Lili of the Valley, Celebration Circle Pennants from Whimsy Stamps

Papers: Pale Plum (Retired), Sage Shadow (Retired) both from Stampin' Up, Neenah Solar Crest, Promises Patterned Paper Pack from Lili of the Valley

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for Dinner

I made this card in preparation for the dinner my friend is cooking for a group of us tomorrow night. I know it will be absolutely delicious as her meals always are and I thought a little thank you card would be a lovely thought! This card is for ColourQ's Challenge #185 to use this colour combo. I will admit I'm not over keen on it as there's a lot of strong, powerful colours in this one, so I took inspiration from Deanna's card and used my Quilled Elegance (which I've hardly inked up!) and came up with this one!

My card...

Recipe:

Stamps: Quilled Elegance, Thanks All Ways both from Papertrey Ink

Papers: Bermuda Bay (Retired atm), Poppy Parade (Retired), Whisper White all from Stampin' Up,

Inks: Bermuda Bay (Retired atm), Poppy Parade (Retired), both from Stampin' Up, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

And here's my card.

A Cameo Just For You

This week's Inkspirational Challenge #16 was to CASE the card below. I loved the layout and I do really like cameos so I pulled out my Cameo Maker set from Waltzing Mouse Stamps and off I went, keeping to roughly the same colour scheme as well. I'm also entering this one in Papertake Weekly's Challenge to only use 1 sheet of patterned paper. Didn't really need much more than the one strip I used!

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Cameo Maker, Compact Sentiments Part One both from Waltzing Mouse Stamps

Papers: Soft Suede, Basic Black, Whisper White, Neutrals DSP Stack all from SU

Inks: Versafine Onyx Black

Accessories: Black Gingham Ribbon (Retired), Ribbon Lace Border Punch, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder all from SU, Oval Nestabilities

A bit late for the party...

I made this card yesterday for a couple of challenges, one of them being one of Kraftin' Kimmie's Krafty Hop Challenges for this month's release party, but I never found the time to upload it in time! Anyway, as Kraftin' Kimmie's Challenge this week is Anything Goes I thought I'd enter it for that one instead!

Papers: Riding Hood Red, Bashful Blue, Whisper White all from SU, Teresa Collins' Stationery Noted Patterned Paper Pack

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

And that's all from me today folks! Thanks for stopping by!

Sending You Sunshine and Smiles

Another kind of CAS card for me - well ok there's lots of empty space, but maybe too many embellishments and things going on to be truly CAS. This card is for The Sweet Stop's Sketch Challenge #206, F4A164 to use sunshine (I have sunflowers and sunshine in my sentiment), Make It Monday's Challenge #111 to use water-colouring with embossed images (I actually couldn't find my aqua painter anywhere, so used my blender pens with my inks instead and love how soft those sunflowers came out!) and finally for A Passion for Papertrey's Touchy Feely Challenge.  I know you can't see it in the photo but I used an impression plate on the vanilla background piece and my sunflowers are heat embossed as well.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: All About You, Signature Series: Flower, Simple Sunflower all from PTI

Papers: Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla all from SU

Inks: Versamark, Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green all from SU

Accessories: Tin Types Impression Plate, Tag Sale #6 Die, Filigree Border Die all from PTI, Ribbon from Crafty Ribbons, Baker's Twine from The Ribbon Reel, Clear Embossing Powder from SU

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Partying Cats and Dogs

This week's challenge over on Cupcake Crafts is Raining Cats and Dogs (i.e. use cats and/or dogs on your card), so I pulled out this cute little stamp from Lili of the Valley with one of each one. This is also for Lili's Little Fairies Challenge to make a CAS card (mine is as simple as I can go!) and I used the sketch from SC431. I just pulled out some old retired bright DSP and went with those colours. Love the brightness of this one - perfect for a kid's card!

And here's my card. (Oops forgot to add 2 buttons or something next to the side of my image - oh well nevermind!)

Recipe:

Stamps: Let's Party from Lili of the Valley, Make A Wish from PTI

Papers: Rose Red, Old Olive, Island Oasis DSP (Retired) all from SU, Neenah Solar Crest

Inks: Rose Red from SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Copic Markers

Accessories: Rose Red Seam Binding Ribbon from SU

And that's all from me for this post folks! Thanks for stopping by.

Boy's Birthday

When I saw the colours for this week's Play Date Café's Challenge #177, I went straight for my trusted Chevron Stripes and one of my Boy Basics sets from PTI. These are such versatile sets and are ideal for more difficult or boyish colour combos. I also used the sketch from Friday Mashup's Challenge #105 which was to also make a birthday card.

And here's my card.

Recipe:

Stamps: Boy Basics: Skater Dude, Boy Basics: Rock On, Background Basics: Chevron Stripes all from PTI

Papers: Tangerine Tango, Night of Navy, Whisper White all from SU

Good morning and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday. This week I have used this cute golfing mice image from Di's Digi Stamps, ...
