Something Else on Saturday #82 Featuring Penguins Bearing Gifts by Stamping Bella

Good morning and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. I opened another previously unused stamp set for this week's card, which I bought about this time last year when Stamping Bella had their Christmas/Winter releases! I have all these plans in my head for cards to make and stamp sets to use, but don't always get the time to put them into action. I bet you're all the same too!

Anyway these cute little penguins needed a little scene to make it look more like they were bringing those gifts to their friends, so I added the trees landscape die and free hard cut some snowy hills and had a bag of snowflake punches from one of my Martha Stewart sets to add as little embellishments.

Recipe:

Stamps: Penguins Bearing Gifts from Stamping Bella, Here We Go A-Waddling from Lawn Fawn

Sweet November Stamps Guest Designer Post #2 Featuring Pine Tree Set and Folk Art Santas

Good morning and welcome to my second Guest Designer post for Sweet November Stamps' new releases this month. Today I am sharing a card I made using several different stamp and sets, which hopefully shows how versatile all these stamps and sets are.

I started with the Pine Tree and Pine Branches set and added the lights which also come with it. Then for the decorations I added some of the Folk Art Santa 1 and Folk Art Santa 2. I used the rug from the Scene Building Corner Room and Accessories set under the tree and then added Bling-A-Ling Elf putting the final star on top of the tree. Watching him closely were Fairy Tot November and Fairy Tot December. The star decorations on the tree, the stripes on the wallpaper and the border of the carpet were just added in Word. No way would I be able to draw straight lines myself LOL

To finish off the card I added some Clear Star Gelly Roll to all the stars, some dots of Xmas Red Stickles and some Crystal Effects to the lightbulbs. Hard to see in the photo, but they all give it a nice shimmery glitter effect.

Scene It Sunday #22 Featuring Prehistoric Plushies from Clearly Besotted

Good Morning everyone and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday post. I am sharing another Clearly Besotted set with you all today (I have over 100 of their stamp sets, but have many that have never seen ink!). I bought this one to help add to my boy card stash as I never seem to have many of them. I do prefer making girly cards, but my mother-in-law has something crazy like 15 grandsons and great grandsons and she gets all her cards from me, so I like to have a pile for her to pick from!

i love that you get the background scene with this set as all the designing and drawing (not that I can draw mind you!) is done for you! Make it much easier for those of us who cannot draw for toffee! 😁

Something Else on Saturday #81 Featuring Reindeer Games from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Good Morning everyone and welcome to this week's Something Else on Saturday post. I am now getting into Christmas card making mode, so will be adding loads on here! I always seem to make loads and still never have enough, but I generally don't start them until after my Hallowe'en ones are all done!

I used the adorable Reindeer Games from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, which I have had for ages, but never used! One of my aims this Christmas is to try and use some of the unused stamp sets on my cards! I probably have way more than the time and number of cards allows though! This card was a 5 x 7 inch card and I managed to add the mountains and trees in free hand, which both turned out pretty well in my opinion. I'm by no means a drawer, so doing something like this is usually out of my comfort zone!

Something Else on Saturday #80 Featuring Ring Around Autumn from Clearly Besotted

Good morning and welcome to my Something Else on Saturday post for today! It almost feels a bit late to do an Autumn themed card now we are out of October and well into November. Christmas feels closer! But I loved this set from Clearly Besotted and coloured the stamps up ages ago, but never got round to making anything with them. We don't really celebrate Fall over here in the UK as we don't celebrated Thanksgiving, but there's never a wrong time to say thank you in my book!

I also found my old box of Candi Dots from Craftwork Cards, which I have tons of. I used to use these all the time - funny how your tastes change! Think I might have to use them a bit more often now I know where the box is!

My first Inspiration Post for Cute As A Button

Good morning everyone and welcome to my DT post today for a new team I have just joined. I was asked by the lovely Sherry and Francesca if I would join the Cute As A Button DT and as I love these images I jumped at the opportunity! For my first inspiration post, I chose to use the adorable Miss Frosty which you can purchase from the store.

I decided to keep her mostly white as she was dressed in her snowman (or should that be snowwoman ?) outfit, with touches of red for the trimmings and tried to find papers in similar colours. With every layer being red, it was too much though, so I added the aqua snowflakes paper and it really pops out against all the red.

This card is for

Recipe:

Stamps: Miss Frosty from Cute As A Button

Papers: Real Red, Whisper White & Let It Snow DSP (Retired) all from Stampin' Up, Make It Colour Blending Card from Make It Crafty

You can also visit the Cute As A Button Facebook Group and join in the monthly progressive challenge there.

And there is also a monthly blog challenge here too.

Scene It Sunday #20 featuring Hallowe'en Tea Party from Christine Karron

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to this week's Scene It Sunday post! I have yet another Hallowe'en colouring page that I did in the lead up to Hallowe'en, but didn't get a chance to blog. I swear this is the last Hallowe'en one now! Honest!

This gorgeous image is a grayscale colouring page from Christine Karron and I don't usually colour grayscale, not for any particular reason, but I just prefer line art. I do, however, absolutely love how this one came out and think the greyscale really made a difference to the shading. I might have to try a few more! I printed this one as an A5 sized page and coloured it with my Copics as usual. I did lose the plants at the bottom of the page in the sky colouring and really couldn't see them through it, so have left them off!

This adorable Cinderella inspired digi is called Past Midnight and I just love the expression on her face when she realises she has turned back from the princess outfit into her usual dirty and dusty ragged clothing! LeAnn's World 101 Challenge #32 Anything Goes

Good morning and welcome to my DT post for the new challenge from LeAnn's World 101. This month's challenge is an Anything Goes challenge as always and you don't have to use an image from LeAnn's World 101 store, but we love it when you do and you can an extra entry for the prize winning as well.

I guess now all my Hallowe'en cards have been finished and posted or given out, it's time to make a start on my Christmas cards. I do tend to give out more Christmas cards than Hallowe'en as not everyone loves Hallowe'en as much as I do! I chose to use the gorgeous Candycane for my card this month - isn't she just adorable?! I added a sentiment form my new Mama Elephant set and a touch of glitter on the snow and a few ore snowflake die cuts too!

The patterned papers are an old retired set from Stampin' Up, which I have almost finished! i think I must have had these for about 8 years now LOL It really is surprising how much you can get out of 12 sheets of 12x12 paper!
